The location of this boutique hotel is on the edge of the Sassi Matera, the preserved area. It is right across the street from the covered car park. So we didn't have to go very far with our bags, no cobblestones to negotiate. The Sassi is just behind the BnB and within 10mins walk of a good number of cafes and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and clean, very tastefully decorated with walls decorated by paintings of local flowers. The hosts are super friendly; we even met their mother who lives within the hotel but in a separate area. There is a long flight of stairs going up to the reception. So I recommend you don't carry with you too much luggage. There is a chairlift along the stairs though should you need to use it. However depending on which room you get, there are also additional stairs within the hotel.

The location was great The room was called a junior suite and it was so small. Other than the bed the only other place to layout our large suitcase open was on the shower floor. How can this be considered any kind of suite? They moved us to a regular suite. The tradeoff was a larger room but the only window opening to the outside was in the bathroom.

This property was in a great location, close to everything. The room was clean and the bed and shower were both wonderful. Everything was great. The only thing that would have been nice was to have some water bottles provided.

This is the best location in Matera. Parking is close by and when you walk around the block you are in the historic city! Staff was very friendly and assisted us in getting an English speaking guide for a tour of the city. This was an unexpected bonus! We got an upgrade to a beautiful big room with balcony! Bed was very comfortable! Breakfast next door was good too, despite other bad reviews.

Great location, kind host Air conditioner would not get below 28* C. Only 2 very small, old pillows. Uncomfortable beds

The location was excellent. It was easy to find and a large parking structure was right across the street. We were only a block from the main part of town, most of the restaurants, and where we started and ended our walking tour. Breakfast was good, served at the cafe next door. The room was very nice and large. We were upgraded to the suite because the room we booked was unavailable due to rennovation work. The staff (owners) were helpful and friendly. As we were packing to leave, a small scorpion was under our luggage. We understand that can happen. My suggestion, and this applies to almost all the places we stayed at in Italy, is more space/furniture is needed to keep luggage off the floor. It would have been bad if our friend crawled in the luggage and joined us on our trip.

We liked the location. It was a short walk to the old part of Matera that we were interested in visiting. We also liked having the parking for our car just across the street. It would have been better if the owners had sent us information regarding getting into the property. It was locked and we were standing outside with our luggage for a long time before we could get in. The owners spoke no English at all so it was very hard to communicate. The room was a tiny attic room where we kept hitting our head. The shower had two flashing lights for some reason and we could not figure out how to turn them off so had to sleep with them flashing into our eyes the whole night. The owners locked up and went home by 7PM so could not ask for help.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. They use google translate as did we, because we weren’t Italian speakers. The location was very close to the Sassi which worked for us and the rooms were quite lovely. We could walk everywhere and parking was convenient and covered. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. We booked through booking and had someone cancel one of three rooms after the deadline. Both booking and the hotel refused to refund the $$. Someone kept it…..they should have agreed to refund it, they being either one. Not a lot of natural light in the room.

Such a find - stayed here 3 nights as a family group of 6 - 4 rooms all on the one floor after 6 days of walking. Mirella and her sister Anna are so hospitable, pleasant and naturally are so delighted to have you as guest . It is a spotless accommodation, convenient to Sassi- almost impossible to get lost and the breakfast in their cafe next door is so well presented with everything you need. Suitcases stored for us on day of departure, not a problem and was convenient for us to walk to get shuttle bus to Bari airport. Couldn’t fault it - stairs might pose a problem but not for us !

Location! Very, very short walk to historic part of Matera. Room was very comfortable and we felt safe. Breakfast was delicious and served next door. The hosts, 3 sisters, were very accomodating. The mood light in the shower was too bright and lit up the whole room at night, causing sleep difficulties. No kettle for tea or coffee in room. Breakfast didn't start until 8:30 which to us when traveling is late. Parking is secure in a lot right across the street but.costs 20 euros per night, so be aware

I enjoyed the light and airy room that was located next to the patio. Loved the location walking distance to the view of the Sassi. The Sassi was accessible by walking . Parking was available across the street. I was actually surprised at how close to the historical sassi district and good food places. Very enjoyable..

Near the Sassi If you like the smell of cheap perfume, sleeping under colored lights, and a disregard for fixing the problems, this is the place for you. The room was permiated by the stink of perfume candles; for 3 nights with aircon, vents and open windows the stank continued. Overwhelming. There were like 7 light switches; no combination would turn out all the lights. We slept with the overtub red lights on all night (see photo). Mirella tried to switch the lights off, failed, laughed then ignored the problem for the rest of our stay. Same with the safe- it did not work- she tried it, confirmed that there was a problem, then did not follow up with a fix. The jacuzzi did not work- filled with hot water but no jets. The room was ground floor on an alley with lights, noise and vehicular traffic sounding off. The aircon and vent rattled and hummed. The room was twice the price of others in this 'hood. Not a satisfied customer.

Big, clean rooms Good location, in the middle of the touristic center Friendly staff, but communication was sometimes a bit hard because of language barrier Nice breakfast buffet, but almost every day the same
