The air-conditioning was inadequate mainly because the vents are pointed so the air is vented across the room instead of up into the room and this creates a microclimate in front of the air-conditioner and it only conditions an area in front of the air-conditioning in the corner of the room. The place looks like it is on its last leg about to collapse. Cups and bottles were everywhere. The elevator quit working after we arrived, like a half an hour, after we arrived. We used the stairs after that. The elevator car was stuck on the first floor because the doors would not close. The breakfast bar was very small! Scrambled eggs and sausage links. Some little muffins, coffee, and water. The room was clean and the bathroom was clean but minimal sink, small single sink. The outside of the building is tired looking and well worn, 40 dollars to self park is excessive in an empty parking lot that is a trip hazard waiting to happen. Uneven surfaces and large cracks.

The property was a bit run down, didn’t really get to use the amenities due to it. How ever it was walking distance to the stadium, so for me that was a plus!

The hotel is closer to the NRG stadium. But it needs extensive renovation.

Besides the parking one of our beds had stained sheets and missed the fitted sheet even after asking for our beds to be redone. Our toilet did not work half of the time and there were moments we went downstairs in the lobby. This is actually the first time I put an unpleasant review on a hotel because we are just looking for basic things.

It was close to stadium which was helpful. Room was clean. Didn't have anything but bath towels in bathroom. No soap, hand towels or wash cloths. Breakfast literally had eggs and sausage. Had to ask for coffee. Our room never got cool. But our 2nd room was cool.

Pool wasn’t clean. Needed more of a breakfast variety.

Don’t stay here unless you’re ok with a gnat infestation. Just to give you an idea, there were dead gnats in the plastid wrapped cups for the coffee in the room. The only thing “good” about this hotel is the location for concerts. When I requested to change rules because of the gnats the front desk stated, “all rooms are the same.” Only one elevator was working and it was in the way back. Thankfully they had parking back there but was still an inconvenience when we left the hotel not by car. It just wasn’t maintained as it should be; very old and run down. I didn’t even think about going to the complimentary breakfast if this is how the rooms are kept. Like I said, only good if you’re going to a concert. But I know where not to go when another concert is happening.

Property was terrible! Smelled like smoke. Check in took more then an hour. Elevator didn’t work and hallways were hot. Also at breakfast there was nothing and the milk was rotten

My overall stay was good and property was well maintained and cleaned and staff was super helpful

The location was great. I went to Houston to attend the Rodeo and this hotel was directly across the street. The hotel is outdated. Shower head was corroded, stains on the comforter sets, pain peeling off walls, stains on the walls and curtains. The hallways were very dark and gloomy. My kids were scared so we only stayed 1 night. They charged $40 to park and the room was $199 for 1 night. Not worth it!

Good parking

It was walking distance from NRG stadium. It was outdated, elevators did not work, toilet did not flush well, the shower had very little water pressure. We had bugs on the bedsheets which were replaced when we reported it.

This was a very old hotel that needs extensive renovations. One f the two elevators was out of order. Also I was not happy that I had to pay a parking fee in their lot for the day of the concert. We were staying for two nights and should not have to pay for that. Also the free breakfast on the Friday morning was not good at all. Just some scrambled eggs and sausage and bread for toast. There was no other choice. I asked for some jelly for my toast and she said she didn’t have any and didn’t even try to look for any n the kitchen. No milk or cereal or yogurt or fruit. They didn’t have many guests checked in yet so they really scrimped on the breakfast that morning. Very disappointed in that aspect.

The room was awful! Fridge didn't work! Parking for guest was unavailable basically due to Rodeo... should at least have parking available for guests.

The pool had green algae completely covering the bottom of the pool, which was open for swimming. We saw someone "cleaning" it, but it was just as filthy after he left. The room had a sliding mirror closet door that was very loose, off track, and leaning towards the front door walkway. There were only 2 cars in the parking lot when we arrived. I think about 10 rooms were rented. Free breakfast was bare minimum and not very good. Hotel is very old and worn out, but clean.

The lights flicker constantly, broken furniture was scattered down the hallways, rust in the tubs, and the carpet was beyond disgusting. Don't let the picture of the lobby fool you, this property needs a major overhaul. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Overcooked instant eggs and sausage links, and dry pastries. When leaving, we saw mold near the ice machines due to drainage issues. The only things good, were the A/C did work, and staff was nice (almost apologetic). With the rates they charge during the livestock shows, you would think they could put some money back into the property. It's a shame this was even open. After this experience, we won't trust staying at another Wingate.

Pool was green, breakfast was eggs sausage white bread toast, no fruit, no yogurt. Cereal was Cheerios or fruit loops. That is all. This is a concert only hotel. A place to crash. Sad, as it is right across from NRG stadium. One of the rooms stank. We changed rooms once because of the loud air conditioner.
