    From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the bell staff, who were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the service was outstanding, and the room was exactly what we hoped for. It provided everything we expect from a luxury hotel—and came very close to exceeding those expectations. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wonderful selection and excellent quality. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next stay!

    Consistently a great place to stay with very reasonable rates. I love the convenience of having the bar, coffee shop and restaurant there. Wish the restaurant were open later though! Some things are showing wear, but overall it’s upkept well.

    The service was better than good, It was extraordinary. the guy at the front desk was giving places and bars to go to. Completely changed my view. If I needed anything I didn’t even have to leave the hotel. That says everything about this place. This is the only hotel I’m staying in Houston. Im definitely a customer for life from now on.

    Very nice property and stay. Near the locations I needed and about a $50 uber from the airport. The shuttle advertised will take you within three miles of the hotel. Accommodated my early checkin request and answered all my questions before arrival, including that $100 room hold was per day so that there no surprises and my trip went very smoothly.

    Real nice bar area . Central location to everywhere that i needed to get to . Ubers were able to get there in a timely manner . Room size was great , only downfall is that the rooms didn’t get as cool at nights how i wanted them too . Staff cleaned room daily when asked .

    The hotel, overall, was very nice, clean and in a great location. A good breakfast buffet is available in the mornings. The only issue that I would mention was that the smoking out front of the main entrance was off-putting because it smelled really bad and it was quite egregious everyday that we were there. I wish management wouldn't allow smoking at the main entrance. Because of this, I will NOT stay in the future. If you don't mind the cigarette smoke every time you come in and out of the hotel, then this is a good option. For the price per night & heavy cigarette smoke, I won't return. Guess I assumed it would be a more upscale experience.

    Excellent service especially Marsha at the front desk. She was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me with surprising my wife for her birthday and graduation! Definitely recommend this place and they have a shuttle service that takes you places nearby. The Galleria mall is less than two miles from there.

    A great option if you are traveling for business, and even for pleasure. Very well located. Good size rooms, new towels (well appreciated for a not so new hotel). Personell very kind. Price wise a very good option, much better than Hyatt Place and cheaper. 15 minutes walking distance from Galleria mall.

    I must BRAG on my stay! Let me say, when I walked into the hotel for check in, I was greeted by several staff! However, MARTHA took the cake! She was very polite and shared so much need to know information and I definitely took advance of all she said. The hotel was quiet and clean. Upon check out, I attended breakfast, which was phenomenal. Yet again, another staff, ALMA, provided exceptional service! She was courteous and attentive to my needs. Martha and Alma went above and beyond to meet my needs. Upon departure, Estaurdo, the Valet, offered a kind gesture to assist me with valet service and he offered kind words regarding our safe travels. Overall, the staff was consistently kind and helpful, and I was wished a Happy Mother’s Day so many times, it literally warmed my heart! I will stay again!! Well done Royal Sonesta!

    Nice hotel for the price. It was busy with several conferences & banquets. However often times you saw guests in pajamas & bathing suits in the lobby area. Would only expect that at a resort. Also $8 for a bottle of water was just ridiculous. Take the 5 minute walk to CVS.

    Large traditional full-service hotel within a short walk from a huge mall and other restaurants. The property is older but everything is very well maintained and gorgeous. Excellent sound proofing but if you’re super sound sensitive ask for a room not facing the highway. Excellent breakfast with the friendliest staff. One of the best and most memorable hotel stays.

The hotel has lost the power to enforce parking privileges to customers. Touch ups needs around the edges all over the hotel. Furniture needs to be deep cleaned or removed.

    The shower in our room did not work properly at all. We checked in late and had an early flight the next morning, so being able to shower and get some rest was important. I called the front desk and explained the issue, asking if we could switch rooms. The woman I spoke with was not helpful and told me they were completely booked. Later, I was told there were rooms available but none were clean, which was frustrating and inconsistent. A maintenance worker eventually came and got the water running, but there was no hot water. I called the front desk again, and after waiting, the issue “changed” — this time the water was scalding hot, essentially unusable. It felt like trying to shower with dishwater-temperature water. At that point, it was so late that I didn’t push further. We just needed sleep before our early flight. But overall, the experience — especially the lack of resolution and the poor customer service — was disappointing enough that I would not choose to stay here again.

    Martha at the front desk made my stay one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time. She was very accommodating, when I arrived from a long drive and got there early.     The location was great, and also the staff! Shout out to María which helped so much with the check-in, and also she had the best disposition to help when needed. Also Bri was super nice and friendly. It was a little too crowded, I know that is nothing wrong but because of the 5 conferences I felt it was a little too crowded. Sometimes my key didn't worked in the elevator.

    Food at restaurants were good staff was excellent. We’re they failed house keeping was terrible. Room was not cleaned until Sunday night after I went down to the front desk and talked to the manager on duty. They finally sent the supervisor and two ladies to clean our room. They did refund the fees for parking to make it right. Anyway we are one and done with this hotel. Don’t recommend it!

    Mani , he drove us one night to a restaurant and Michael the bar tender were the only people on staff that made us feel welcome. The staff seemed put out to assist in any way, the elevators, yes all of them malfunctioned multiple times, the pool and hot tub were dirty. The first night we arrived. We tried to get service in the Lounge, no one greeted us or asked if we wanted a drink. When we went up to the bar to ask if we were supposed to order up there, we were treated very poorly and decided to just leave and not spend our money at the hotel. We will not be staying at this property ever again.

    Mani , he drove us one night to a restaurant and Michael the bar tender were the only people on staff that made us feel welcome. The staff seemed put out to assist in any way, the elevators, yes all of them malfunctioned multiple times, the pool and hot tub were dirty. The first night we arrived. We tried to get service in the Lounge, no one greeted us or asked if we wanted a drink. When we went up to the bar to ask if we were supposed to order up there, we were treated very poorly and decided to just leave and not spend our money at the hotel. We will not be staying at this property ever again.

    The hotel was nice however my biggest complaint would be about the housekeeping service. We requested for housekeeping expecting the dirty sheets and pillowcases to be replaced with clean ones however upon inspecting we realized that they were not replaced but flipped over. The floors also weren’t vacuumed because the same crumbs and dirt on the floor was still there after the service. The rating would have been higher however after what we experienced with the housekeeping service it raises the question if the sheets present when we checked in was ever washed or replaced. Also the elevator was quite slow.

    The front desk staff was alway rude with every interaction, but I would be too with what the hotel allows to go on in the building. The whole hotel smells like marijuana. The ice machine on 3 different floors didn’t work, we stopped looking for working machines before just going to the (always rude) front desk that directed us back to our floor before finally giving us ice. We had to hang our clothes in the shower because there was no full-size closet, just a small standalone closet with a rack big enough for shorts or a skirt MAYBE. The only good experience was the restaurant, the staff was the best I’ve ever encountered. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I will NEVER EVER stay at this establishment again, or any connecting chains associated with them. Good luck if you do.

    Our stay was good, staff was nice, the rooms were clean, the ac did not cool the room very well but that wasnt a huge deal. When we went to go down for breakfast guest were in the lobby posing and making videos in the seating area with inappropriate bits out (7 am) and the staff allowed it. Not really what i wanted my daughters to see first thing in the morning. There was also puke in the elevator and all the staff did was put a wet floor sign up. But one great thing about this hotel is they offer a free shuttle and the man that drives was friendly and very helpful.

    We arrived early, but the hotel stored our things while we explored the city and ate brunch. My room was located on the 17th floor. I had a view of the city, so the lights at night were amazing. It was a two-queen bed with a lounge chair. The mirror on the door was SUPERB! The shuttle was a plus. It takes you anywhere in a 3-mile radius. The staff was helpful with making recommendations for things around the area. I also enjoyed the store located at the hotel which sold food, coffee. wine, and toiletries. The location was right next to the Galleria and shopping all was walking distance, but shuttle will take you. :). The Lyft rides were between 7-16 dollars and that was awesome. We can for the rodeo, to the location was on point. everything we did was in a 10-mile radius. Awesome! There was no microwave in the room, but I noticed they were outside the door. I'm assuming this was in case we needed one. The bar could open up a little earlier. I was told 5 pm and this was on a Monday. I would make a recommendation for maybe 12 or 1pm. Other than that, I have no complaints.

    We never got to stay. The young lady was rude. First she said they only had 2 queen bed rooms available. My card declined, I drove to the nearest Capitol One and added more money on my account. When we got back she then kept having me to run my card without explaining why. When i kept asking her why and let her know that it'll create a fraud alert and lock my account she just kept typing something on the computer then running back and forth to the office behind the fromt desk. At that point I explained forget it and left at 4 in the morning. Remind you we drove from Dallas and I still had to drive to Clearlake to drop my dogs off to my parents. Worst customer service ever.

    I've always booked directly through the hotel, when we stay somewhere. This was our first time booking through a site and our first time try Royal Sonesta. It definitely made me feel like they save certain rooms for the discounted prices. The headboard should've been replaced a long time ago. When I woke up, I thought there were bugs in the bed. Then I realized it was pieces that had fallen from the damaged headboard. DISGUSTING!

    This is a great hotel, in an excellent location, and a lovely staff. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The food at the breakfast buffet is very good and worth the cost. My only criticism was that my room obviously had been smoked in at some point in the recent past. It wasn't overwhelming but noticeable. Staff was very responsive and I was immediately offered a new room which I declined just because it didn't really bother me. The gym is also decent size, clean, and has good equipment. The location is excellent for great restaurants and shopping close by and downtown is easily accessible by a short drive. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

    The room was great! It was absolutely beautiful! The room was on the perfect floor! The staff was amazing throughout my stay. The dining facilities were impressive. The only problems were the water went down for a few hours, it had to be filtered. There was construction that caused a lot of noise for a few hours. The parking was supposed to be included, but ended up being $40 per night.

    My family and i were welcomed by a great front desk member called Martha drew a smile on our face immediately when she welcomed our kids with cute hotel stuffed bear and made their day She Was always helpful with any request asked Room was clean Requested baby crib which they sent one right away although crib was not well maintained ( paint faded and scratched maybe 10 year old crib ) They have self parking available which we unfortunately did not feel safe parking there as we felt it was kinda far from the hotel and lights were dimmed at night we had to switch to valet parking ( great and fast service ) Overall we where satisfied with our one night stay and will be coming back for another staycation

Beautiful hotel, however I would recommend an upgrade to the rooms due to carpet stains, no full length mirrors, and resurfacing needs in the bathroom.     They gave me the wrong room. When I walked in, there was a lady changing to get ready for her Christmas event. She cursed me out and said please don’t hurt me. I was mortified. The most embarrassing thing ever checking into a hotel like this. I would like compensation for this horrible experience.

    Restaurant food was decent, not 5-star. The bar was nice and served up very good cocktails. Main takeaway: perhaps best smelling hotel I've ever been to. They had diffusers or whatever they used all over and the entire property smelled wonderful. Only caution is if you are affected by perfumes, it may cause a bit of distress.

    Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was very clean and smelled clean. I was apalled to find that the vanity kit in the restroom had dirty used qtips inside. Room was cozy but uncomfortably hot. We had to have someone come take a look at the ac system but after that it was comfortable. The hotel was so beautiful and we would have loved to explore it more but we ran into lots of drunk, rude, condescending guests that were there for a company christmas party. But aside from that, room service was excellent and went above and beyond and the restaurants were amazing and had a great selection. We enjoyed our stay.

    The room was clean however accommodations relative to space for seating was not good. Only one chair was in the room which resulted in need for 2nd person to sit on the bed. Water needed running for a long time in order to get hot water. Staffing was Great, overall.

    I had requested a room change due to backed up sewage. Apparently the hotel has had issues for a while because the entire hotel shower and sinks were spewing out fecal matter. The staff were very positive and reassuring offering a free meal, but the water issue caused the stay to be less than the average forty dollar motel stay. I love this hotel brand, but they gave little back for the amout paid to stay in a clean safe environment.

    This room needed a few TLC. The tub water sprout piece was disconnected from the wall. whenever you flush the toilet it sound like something was going to pop out. The toilet would run for a long period of time. it also look like the room may have suffered some kind of water damage. there was hair left on the toilet seat as well as on top of the toilet.

    Walls are paper thin! We could hear other guests moving around in the adjoining rooms. The Front desk seemed short staffed as there was always a line. Our room was a little outdated and didn’t look like the pictures advertised on the website. We purchased food from the lounge and it was nothing to rave about.

    Wasn't informed about the $38 ridiculous fee to self park. Booked a king bed room. Upon check in they said the king rooms didn't have running water so was downgraded to 2 double beds.     The hotel was clean and well maintained. I used the self parking, but the website only mentioned valet parking. It would have been nice if the website had explained this so that I knew more about it prior to my arrival. The Valet Parking attendant seemed pushy and wanted my keys to my car while I went inside to check in, in case he needed to move my car. There was plenty of room there and no need for that. I thought that was a little odd and unnecessary. I did not give him the keys and told him I was only going inside for check in and would then move my car. Otherwise, I didn't use any of the hotel amenities.

    At check-in I was told my reserved King was “not available” and I was pushed to accept a downgrade to two Queens, with “late checkout” offered as an incentive. I declined because I booked a King. After insisting, a King room was suddenly “found,” presented as an “upgrade,” even though it was the room type I originally reserved. When I then asked for the late checkout that had just been offered, I was told it was “not possible.” This back-and-forth felt misleading and unprofessional. Before assigning my room, I confirmed parking costs because my Expedia booking included a parking credit. The front desk told me self-parking is $35 and the difference would be complimentary from the hotel. Despite that, I was charged $9.74. When I called the hotel to understand the charge, the operator after taking my room number said it was simply the “difference in parking fees.” I explained that the front desk had promised it would be complimentary. She replied it was not noted in my check-in notes and asked me for the receptionist’s name. Expecting guests to track staff names to enforce what the hotel promised is unreasonable. The call felt dismissive and unhelpful. Multiple elevators to the 19th floor made creaking sounds and did not ride smoothly. This needs urgent maintenance. In addition, there was a coffee machine but no water provided to make coffee.

    Even though I left early for a family emergency, my one day stay was great. The rim was clean, the bed was comfortable.     Property is tired. Upcharge for President suite but put me in the governors suite…… alarms going off at nigh twice. Having to get my 2 year old up out of bed and dragged them downstairs twice because the front desk was not answering the phone about the alarms……. This was a nice property at one time but it’s very tired and needs a lot of updating. The management team needs some attention. I think they’re having a hard time with staffing. Nobody to help with bags. It’s just not what it used to be.

    Had to call front desk about the floor light staying on, the personal was not familiar with that feature in the room so they called maintenance, they came quickly but he ended up just pulling the socket out. It was motion reactive light but I’m not sure if they knew or wasn’t able to explain it. Overall good, but wouldn’t purchase with out a deal of some kind

    I love/hated this hotel. It was super clean in the lobby’s and hallways, everything seemed super nice & nice. Beds were comfy, but the only thing is furring my stay there was a dead roach in my room and my a/c was broken. The staff handled both situations very well, they came and got the roach out. And they fixed the AC, the only thing is, I did wish to have some sort of compensation for all the disruption of these events and I don’t receive any.

    My stay was a 10/10 I will be returning in a couple months! Only thing I will say is that it’s a $100 incidental fee for every night you stay… I think that’s really high but you get to use it for room service and stuff… pool and spa 10/10 the gym had so many things everything was just perfect!     Hotel staff and room are great in general, except two things. 1. Elevator to our room at the top floor (20-ish floor) were not working. We need to call their staff to bring us down through maintenance elevator. 2. They charged us additional $157.99 for breakfast eventhough it had been included in room rate.     We selected this property because it was convenient. It was a wonderful experience! We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and were treated like royalty by all staff - from front desk, to parking, to dining, to housekeeping. The time on property was safe, restful, relaxing, and provided not only a good night's rest, but also, because of its location, was able to serve as an easy, convenient "hub" for our activities in the area: shopping, entertainment, and fine dining away from the property. The management and all staff were very courteous, personable, knowledgeable, and professional as well as efficient! We will definitely be back!

    This hotel used to be great. But now it needs a key to go to every floor. Which was a pain in the ass sometimes the key card wouldn’t work and it would take me all the way up to someone else’s floor. It was also incovnient when I ordered food because I had to come down to get the food or get a friend . Last time I was there it didn’t need a key. I like convenience when I’m staying at a hotel .will not stay here again.

    The room was clean and comfortable. The cafe provided tasty and reasonably priced breakfast options. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I wish it was easier to get to the parking. All of the nearby levels were reserved for valet parking so I had to drive up and down 3 levels to get to the regular parking, as well as a take a separate elevator back down to the lobby. Overall, a great stay.

    There was always hot water for your shower. The a/c went in and out. I also had a water leak in my closet that was kind of noisy to listen to.

    Of overall the hotel was nice and the employees were very nice! Laura at the bar was amazing. I forgot to take a photo but the hand towel in the bathroom was dirty.

    This property was so nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The placed me and the rest of my party in rooms together, although we didnt book together. Pool area is small but since its hot, not many people were out. Gym is a great size. the employees were all so nice!

    I was told the morning of we could have an early check in at 2 pm. I showed up and they said nothing would be ready until 4pm. I left to kill some time and returned at 3:15 and all of the sudden my room was available. I was in a time crunch to be somewhere and they didn’t call me, text me or anything to tell me my room was ready. Had I not gone up there early I still would’ve been waiting. Whoever Iris is in on the phone had an attitude every time I spoke to her. The guest communication needs lots of improvement and work honestly. Other than that the room was clean, near the elevator, and had a great view.
