The location was great, right off I-45. The price was below what other hotels were charging. They had a hot breakfast with eggs, link sausage and make your own waffles. To go along with cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit etc. the rooms were comfy with a fridge and microwave. Coffee machine was not working in the downstairs breakfast area

I liked the fact that they said I would get my deposit back the next day. (After surprising me with this new information at time of check-in & payment) It was a nice hotel with elevators and a pool and the rate for the nightly price was very low the lowest in my whole area of $38 well I quickly realized why it was so low when I checked in it was because they have a hidden surprise for you you also have to pay $100 deposit at the time of checking as well. But other than that the room was nice the cable TV was fine the fridges are nice and they provide shampoo shower gel and hand soap and dispensers near their sinks and showers. I did not like the fact that I did not get my deposit back the next day as they claimed and when I tried to reserve the room for another day they said that they had to move me to a different room and then I had to pay a completely different deposit of $100 on that room as well so now after checking out I still have two deposits of $100 pending that are supposed to be refunded into my bank account and after days of waiting I do not see that happening is a huge rip off for consumers. This is why they have such a low price for nightly rates it's almost too good to be true that is because it is they don't tell you the hidden part that they are going to charge you $100 deposit and most of the time they do not give it back by claiming something anything even something small was wrong with the room and that justifies them keeping your whole $100 for some reason. Scam artist something needs to be done I am going to report on the better Business bureau website.

Breakfast is standard continental fare - fruit, cereal, yogurt, waffles. Hot food on the weekend. It's a busy, affordable hotel, so lots of people coming and going. It's an older place, no frills, but very spacious rooms. Front desk staff is nice.

Location Has roaches, asked from staff to switch rooms or refund, wasn’t given either and was told they can’t promise another room won’t have roaches as they just killed some downstairs and that I can’t get a refund since I checked in. Carpets are ripped up and stained. Walls stained.

The hotel is close to the freeway, which is nice. There are some restaurants and convenience stores nearby. What I didn’t like is that the bathroom was dirty. At night while I was sleeping, there were insects or bugs—I’m not sure what they were. The bed base is dirty, and the room smells bad.

I did message management about the matter and requesting a full refund and not a partial refund because we left the same day we checked in in less than one hour and they never responded back so that shows you what kind of company management you’re dealing with

However I can say one good thing about my experience at this hotel and that's that they had good Continental tasteful breakfast. Overall I give them one star just because of the breakfast everything else was awful.

Its been several months i been going to this location, no ice machine works , no ice buckets in rooms they give a trash bag to put ice in it

We did not stay with a pet but it was dog food left on the floor or the new room as well as the water leakage.

We however could not get our room... There was somebody od'ing in the lobby, and after we left an ambulance showed up. 0/10 would not recommend. They didn't even help us find another hotel. Hotels.com has not refunded us.

They overbooked the hotel and still ran my card and told me it's hotels.com's problem now. Saw one of the rooms and it was absolutely disgusting. Had to walk to a different hotel down the interstate. Staff was incredibly rude and had half a dozen reservations behind us that were also ignored. Stay away.

Had to switch my room . First room had broken phone, broken chain lock, and a horrible smell! Second room had roaches coming from the dresser or possible refrigerator but yes there was real roaches!

We didn’t end up staying. We literally left an hour after staying because our room had roaches and the tub was so nasty.

Very terrible place I will never stay! Managers not on duty and Steve couldn’t reach no manager. Rooms horrible and smell horrible! Not safe feces and urine smell in rooms strong!

Be aware that indoor pool doesnt mean that the water is warm enough for swimming until summer. Part is uncovered and the water flows between the 2. Pool property was not maintained and trash was by all the chairs. Water was tracked thruout the hallways. Breakfast consisted of limited choices, including wet scrambled eggs and no butter for toast.

It was next-door to a nice Mexican restaurant other than that nothing The rooms felt like you were in a swimming pool damp wet and it was dirty sheets on the beds. It was not a good experience.

They stated it included breakfast but apparently it is only weekends. Then they charge 100 for the deposit.

I don't understand why they would offer a shuttle service at 4:00 AM when it still hadn't arrived by 4:20 AM. I had to call an Uber just to make sure I didn't miss my flight. I even called multiple hotels beforehand to confirm shuttle schedules since my flight was at 5:20 AM.

the staff i encountered were pretty laid back and nice. which is alright when im a 24 year old girl but to older adults i can see where they would come off as lazy. the manager was accommodating and i could tell she did care but with the level of stress that hotel probably puts on her i can see why she seems annoyed cleanliness is basically nonexistent. truly only picked this hotel because of the pool and upon arrival i learned the pool was closed. granted, i definitely could’ve called and asked if it was open so that’s really my fault. however the employee didn’t even know the pool had been closed soooo? smashed bugs on our wall. stains on wall and beds. mold on the ceiling. made a complaint with the manager and couldn’t get a refund due to making my reservation with booking. so we moved rooms and the manager showed me 4 rooms before we found one i deemed clean enough for me and my friend to stay.

We arrived early, and waited in the lobby for our room. There was no rest room or water or vending available for public use.The room appeared clean, but the carpet had not been vacuumed, hair and fuzz stuck to the bottom of our socks.

Room fob wasn't working original room yes new had an upgrade bed size but that's it! No microwave not even in lobby area to use. Not to mention it took almost an hour for the water to run hot in this room! Back elevator sounded like it needed some work made sure I took lobby one.

The room was clean and l love how they set up the toiltries and the toilet tissues was nicely designed prior to me using it. The staff were very courteous. I saw that the place appears more upgraded in comparison to my previous stay. My only desire is for them to have room aroma upgraded. Case in point my clothes had an old scent. When l got my home, l had to wash the clothes that l did not wear because they had an old musty smell. I am now thinking that the people on the plane probaby find my clothes to be smelling musty as well. The price for my stay was vost effective. The elevator and the lobby was clean. It is easy access to uber or lyft and not far from Wal-Mart etc

It was a comfortable place to stay for sure. Just keep in mind there is a $100 deposit that needs to be paid up before you check in. However if you keep the room clean you can get that money back at checkout

It was a very horrible experience, I flew out there for a soccer Tournament and 3 of our cars tires were stolen that’s 16 wheels totaled. They have no cameras

I was expecting so much more from the website, until i got there and was greeted by a rude young lady at the front desk. There is a $100 incidental charged (per room) in case you decide to steal those paper thin curtains. We then proceed to our room and on the way we see holes in the ceiling near the lobby, we see buckets set up to catch water and the place reeked of mold. We get to our rooms and the rooms weren't clean. We found lashes on the side of the nightstand, earrings on the floor, red stains in the carpet, hair on the bathroom floor and again, the room reeked of mold. I went to the front desk to speak with management, but of course she wasn't there. I called guest relations and was told the complaint would be escalated. We had to book a room elsewhere due to me being allergic to mold. So i am now out of almost $1k on hotel charges. And they are refusing to refund my money although i did not stay here at this filthy hotel. This case has been escalated 5 times and still have not been refunded.

Upon entering the hotel, it smelled dirty. When we entered our room, there was a live roach on our door. The hallway had food crumbs on the carpet for the whole stay (weekend). Light fixture had stuff leaking. Just overall, not a good place.

My stay at the Sonesta Essential Houston Hobby Airport property was one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. We booked our stay at the airport on the day of our stay. I’ve stayed at many Sonesta properties in the past so I felt comfortable booking this location. Little did I know what I was stepping into. I called the property approximately 30 times to no avail. It kept sending me to an answering and text service. The text came through 45 mins after the initial call. My mother tried calling as well as airport staff trying to help. I tried TJ arrange for shuttle pickup and that never happened. We had to uber. Upon arrival, the front desk worker appeared lackadaisical as I explained to her that the phone system appears to be down and no one replied to the numerous texts. I called the number in front of her and she looked stunned that the phone wasn’t ringing. We got a room w/a broken shower. I had to go to another room to shower. Maintenance never came to fix our shower. There were multiple pp

Not only was this place in the middle of construction, but you can definitely see why. Old dirty walls, wallpaper, furniture, etc. No amenities really here. Not even coffee/tea for the coffee that’s provided for the room. They only sell chips and water (and that’s if it’s not expired) and they also did not have any tampons/pads to give or sell when asked. They had a pool but it was very murky so I did not use it. The closest place to buy anything like toiletries is three blocks away at a place called “Airport Express.” Breakfast was fine but nothing above average. Day staff was much nicer than night staff but once again customer service was lacking here. Not a sense the workers know what they’re doing. I wanted to checkout early and was told about paying for the day which I was fine with but the lady at the front desk told me there was nothing she could do and that I needed call to check out if I wanted to leave now. I also needed to use the bathroom while I was waiting on my uber to leave and the clerk had to give me my key back just to use the restroom. I called the next day to make sure I checked out and even as I asked the clerk to confirm the price and had a very confusing conversation. But front desk staff was amazing and available when I needed them. Surprisingly there was NO mini-fridge.The bathtub/shower was excellent, with four metal safety grab bars solidly attached to the wall. The water pressure was A+. Both the bedroom and shower were very clean. The bed was clean and comfortable. The closet was clean, with adequate wooden hangers. I missed breakfast, which ended at 9:00 am, so I can't comment about it. This property is under renovation so I am not gonna treat it as if it were a fully functioned certain star expectancy. It appears to be at one time a high quality hotel that has fell to poor management resulting a changeover from a former Drury Inn and another brand called Green Tree or something like that. Other reviews constantly complain about roaches or other bugs. I was on the second floor and saw no bugs. The room was relatively clean but still had images of the other hotel brands that isnt the current ownership. I would expect under new and improved management that the renovations will fix the updates of furniture, bath replacements to get rid of old and stained fixtures. Or at least I hope it would. The location is convenient to IAH, rental car lots and food. Especially the yummy Shipley Donuts across the road. I can not give this hotel a high ratings until they fix the issues and appearance. Clear outside signage of what hotel they represent will also help. The guy checking us in was thorough when problems were presented and he was only filling in to help out the owner. Whatever that meant but he knew who to call when there were issues for payment from Expedia other 3rd party booking. We were given a wrong room type, he fixed it. No remote control for the tv in the room, he fixed it. Biggest issue was the elevator that wasnt marked for repair as it shuttered when going down and made horrible noises. I give them a year to get things turned around.

This was a beautiful place but the hot water didn't get hot or even warm so getting up at 2 am without a shower wasn't ideal.

The first room that we booked there were nats flying the curtain had food waste..I went downstairs. The receptionist inspected the room and gave us another room..there were no face towels no Kleenex there were dirty bath towels hung up no remote..room was in unfair condition I would not recommend this hotel stay .

Well being woken up at 7 am to people beating on walls for construction work was bad. The room was dirty and the main lightswitch for most the lights in the room did not work. 1 bedside lamp worked. Upon arrival when I told the front desk clerk about the non working lights and odd white gunk on surfaces in the room he said I would have to talk to a manager in the morning. At 7 am I was startled awake by what sounded like a whole construction crew trying to break down my wall. I went to the front desk about this and was told that there was nothing that could be done and if I didnt like it I could leave because they were not going to move me to another room.

When we arrived I had to use the restroom but was told it was for employees only. So I had to check in while needing to pee badly. Second the AC was horrible, room was hot. The carpets were badly stained and there was a live roach in the bed. Never will stay here again!!!

The property was far from the condition in the photos. The pictures were old and led about the condition of the hotel and ground. It was absolutely disgusting and you could smell the mold. There were multiple locations in the hotel marked off with caution tape leaking water and visibly moldy. We didn't stay and never got a refund for the room.

The hotel is not five star. You get what you pay for. It’s clean enough for me. I didn’t see anything wrong with the cleanliness. Old yes and shabby. The King suite is huge and the room is separated, they need to purchase new TVs but I don’t go to the hotel to watch the Telly.

We told them we were checking out early because of the bugs and they refused to refund the 2nd night even though it was before regular check out time! Elevator was broken as was the pool! The pictures are not anything like the actual disrepair of the hotel

Absolutely horrible trash everywhere bugs in property people arguing outside in hallway and in parking every morning around 10am it would be a non stop knocking noise that they could never identify where it was coming from keys keep resetting forcing you to go to front desk 1st floor room by pool smelled like piss worst experience

I had a 38 min wait to get checked in. There isn’t a public restroom available in the general area only for staff. I booked a king suite was given a basic handicap room. I complained to the receptionist he didn’t want to change my room. The carpets recked which caused the room to have an odor. Breakfast wasn’t on time and closed early. 1 Elevator didn’t work the other definitely needs maintenance. The second day of my stay my key on longer worked and again the receptionists slow and rude she didn’t want to provide her name. She wasn’t aware of how the booking process worked she was having to call other people to help guide her thru the check in process.

Nice although alot if strict rules, they do not allow pets as stated on Expedia, staff has strict rules to extend or rebook before 11 am or else you wait downstairs to check in again til 3 pm. Nice hot breakfast.

False advertising, the hotel is dirty, smells like pure bleach and cigarettes all around the rooms. Everything including all the counters were dirty in my room. Curtains and blinds were broken into pieces, toilet and bed had stains on them. This was so bad I checked out within 2 hours of being there

This hotel is old and the pictures are deceiving. The carpets are heavily stained and need to be pulled up. The tub in the bathroom is rusty and there was tissue in the vents. There are stains all over the walls and fabric bed rails(I think that's what it's called). The elevator stopped working, and the pool area wasn't working properly. After checking the sheets and looking for bedbugs, I can say at least the sheets appeared to be clean. There were also a few roaches that came out of hiding, and that was it!! We IMMEDIATELY gathered our bags after shaking them out and left. I will say the staff was friendly, and they do serve breakfast, but we didn't eat it. I politely let the front desk know and she said she would let someone know about the issues. I only need the room to rest before hitting the road to continue our travels. I definitely wish I'd read the Google reviews and not the ones on hotels.com. I guess you get what you pay for!!

There’s a restaurant/bar literally right next door that’s actually delicious. They serve breakfast starting at 7AM. It’s nothing special, the typical cereals, sausage, eggs, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee and juice. Staff is really nice. My room was really clean, no complaints. For me it’s all I need in a hotel to shower sleep and have some peace. It is right by the highway and you can hear planes, but you’re at the airport. Staff is just typical folks, polite and accommodating. Didn’t run into a rude person at all. Parking is free and convenient. 24 hour places less than a mile a way like Dennys and Waffle House. Would definitely stay again.

I will seek advice on our rights - My group was of 15 people with 7 rooms and everyone had complaints.

I was wished we could have been able to have water in the room and other than the pipe busting right outside our room and the loud fan the at our door, it was a good trip.

Front desk person was attentive and friendly. Breakfast was okay but eggs were lukewarm. If you need a shuttle keep calling. The phone isn't always answered. The shuttle driver was great.

This is an old Drury property and the exterior looks ok. The standards are very low and this property is very tired. They hold a $100.00 deposit for up to two weeks, which was a surprise. Spend the extra money further away from hobby. I’ve stayed at several and this area is in a sad state and unsafe!!!

Hotel is obviously in the midst of an upgrade. You can still find some items of the former named hotel around. TVs, bedding, carpet all newer upgrades. Breakfast needs some work, but change tales time and plenty of breakfast spots close by. Great Mexican restaurant next door.

Safety Alert Property Had No Proper Lighting Around The Hotel

Everything for the most part was great and quiet clean but I seen a bug or 2 nothing to crazy front desk could be a lil more friendlier

The stay was good. It’s clean and quiet. Staff was ok, not really welcoming. We couldn’t watch any Television because they had no remotes for us to use. Hoping I get my $100 deposit!

The room wasn’t clean very properly. They don’t give you enough towels for two. The fridge in my room didn’t even work and Spoiled some of the food that I had. There’s a lot of loud people during the night

There was no remote for our room and the front office staff was very rude and not accommodating in trying to help resolve the issue. When we had questions he(Alex) was very dismissive and has an unpleasant attitude. 10 out of 10 would not recommend because of him

looked like it had been a half way house or rehab facility before, carpets were filthy, no hot water, pool water was green, just the worst. Sonesta should have refurbished this hotel before they put their name on it. Will never use a Sonesta brand again.

They had no bell carts or anything available to help me with my luggage, and nobody offered to help despite my multiple bags.

This place is horrible. They stole my clean towels, Overcharged me, everyone leaves mad at management. Bugs after lights out. Needles in the parking lot. Not even I’m this cheap had to leave.

There was no cable all week which I understand with the hurricane but a notice ahead of time would have been good. Twice when we went on the elevator it shook really really bad I had to grab onto my fiancé because I thought was shaking that bad we thought it was gonna get stuck & didn’t open for awhile I did not let me or my children get on it after that. Overall I would not stay here again. It was not worth the money.

The shower had no liquid soap. My son had to get a rag and squirt liquid green hand soap and give me in the shower. I had to go downstairs and get the bath mat. the bed was comfortable. The mattress in room 417 needs to throw away. It had a large big urine stain. The carpet in the hotel was dirty and smelly. No outside hotel sign. The carpet in the elevator needs to be replaced. The outside of the hotel looks nice and the inside. There was a roach in the bathroom at 3 AM. My son also ttok a picture of another roach. I needed a shuttle ride to the airport at 5 AM to Hobby Airport. hat is why I stayed there.

The receptionist at the check-in did not show any customer service skills. The hotel does not look clean. Common areas such as the elevator and hallways are neglected and dirty. The carpet in the room and bathroom require more cleaning.

I had to change rooms three times, every room that I was given either had an foul odor, rust stains, horrible carpet, scratches and holes in the walls. I believe their tenancy consists of people living at the hotel.

This property is horrible I open the small refrigerator to put my leftover food in there and a roach came running out the refrigerator there was mosquitoes everywhere in our room I killed 5 of them and there was more in the morning they had no towels the hallway smelled like pee from the mop the made was using and when I walked past her the water In her mop bucket was so gross I couldn't believe she was mopping with that all together my stay was uncomfortable and very dirty even the tube was gross like they pulled up the cover that was in the tube and it left a ring of stained dirt so gross at this place pass and go somewhere else unless you want to take roaches with you home

Experience not so good. After looking at the webpage made it seem more appealing than when we got there. The elevators were broken. We had to take the stairs up and down to the third floor and back and also when we requested towels and condiments like soap and the usual that the hotel is supposed to offer those items were not available. I was only able to receive some bars of soap and no clean towels upon request. The place was on the low end.

It was what you pay for, basic hotel, basic amenities. The elevator wasn't working so for someone who's using a cane and had bags this was not good.. then the toilet didn't flush in the morning and there was no remote. The beds only had sheets no coverlet or bedspread, so we felt uncovered. Coffee was closed at 1030 so no coffee for us.

This Place does not deserve to have the name, Sonesta attached to it. It was not clean as soon as I walk in the door. A staff member told me that it was not safe to park my car on the sides or in the back of the building when we got into the room, the carpet on the left side of the bed is soaking wet a parent Lee, there’s water dripping from upstairs down into the room or stains on the carpet. It’s just not clean and worthy of the name of Sonesta.

I would like my deposit back and to be refunded 1 nite stay hotel was dirty. I ask for clean towels and sheets the first night I was there as and they completely ignored my request.toilet never worked correctly ask on several occasions for them to fix it. Completely ignored my requests.
