Best Western Plus Heritage Inn

I waited at the front desk for a long time. Rang the bell three times and it was useless. My family and I were in a rush to check in in order to make it to a graduation on time and the staff had zero urgency to check me in. Once the two staff came to the front desk, it seemed like there was training going on, which is understandable but the individual that was experienced, started grabbing mail to look at and handle, so I told her I needed to get checked in first, before she continued to ignore me.

The hotel was clean. Some of the staff were good but the lady that worked the morning of May 8, I believe her name was Anna, was very rude and she lied to us. Saying that we could not have guest visit us in the room. Which made my mother, who usually has a walker, but only brought her cane because we had her scooter, and depends on oxygen to breath, have to try and walk to the lobby to get the keys to her scooter that my sister brought from Dallas for her. I had left and went to the store and wasn’t there to go get them myself. I asked the next person on staff was that the hotel policy, because that’s what we were told, he said no. Smh.. I really would have hated if my mother would have fell trying to walk to that lobby alone.

Property is nice and very clean. Staff was polite, had to go to the counter twice due to key cards stop working, but they fixed it quickly. Breakfast is the usual, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, waffles, bread coffee and juices but all is well made and fresh. Pool seemed good and clean, but I never used it. Parking is good. Room and bathroom are good size. Location is good with a variety of restaurants nearby. The bathroom exhaust doesn’t work properly. Every time we took a hot shower the room became really humid, I had to keep the A/C at 60 not to feel the humidity. Not all the rooms are like that since I booked another room for my mom and nephew and theirs felt really nice so it was just mine (310) Other than that our stay was excellent

2nd time at this hotel and it was a really good experience. The only thing what was concerning was the elevator making weird noises and shutting down once while we were there. Besides that, a really great experience!

Musty smell in the room, bed wasn’t very comfortable. Everything else was average for a hotel room.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast options were limited for someone who needs gluten free.

That’s honestly one of the very few things this place has going for it. 1. We were given a key card and told the room was ready. When we got upstairs, we found out it hadn’t even been cleaned yet. We had to wait for housekeeping to finish preparing the room. 2. We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The next day, our key card stopped working. It turned out the staff had entered our stay as only one night, so we had to go back downstairs and sort it out. 3. Breakfast was supposedly included with our stay, but in reality there’s barely any breakfast here for anyone. For a fairly large hotel, there are only 4–6 tiny tables and almost nothing to eat. There are two waffle makers with lines of seven people waiting, clearly unable to handle the demand. Other than waffles, the options were standard flavorless eggs, terrible potatoes, and sausage patties that tasted like they were made from scraps. First we had to wait for a table to open up, then we tried the food, threw most of it away, and left to find breakfast somewhere else. On the second day, we didn’t even bother going downstairs for breakfast. 4. The location is honestly awful. It’s about 10 minutes away from the heart of the U.S. petrochemical industry. We weren’t familiar with Houston, so choosing this location was partly our own mistake. This part of the city feels like Gotham City from Batman. If you actually want to explore Houston, this is definitely not a good area to stay in. No matter where you want to go, expect at least a 30-minute drive.

The breakfast was good hot sausage and eggs along with the usual breakfast food from an hotel. I wished they had water also for breakfast. The Spanish lady that worked during the day on 4/25 at 1:30pm didn't want to let my family member up to my room I had to go downstairs and get him . After I questioned her about it see stated with an attitude well I did let him up. What nonsense where one can't have a guest in a hotel?

Breakfast is ok. Check in experience was horrible. In particular one receptionist (Mario?) was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I anticipated him a bad review and his answer was: "You can do it, you can also go in another hotel"...and it was 10 pm after 1 day travelling....while having done an anticipated payment booking..... Other receptionists were acceptable (say "normal") They are very strict on check-out time and charge you 20$ in case of delay (due to ownership mandate).

You’re like 15-20 min from places like downtown, the galleria and other popular spots so we weren’t in major traffic or far from anything

Reception area and breakfast area are renovated, unlike the rest of hotel. Breakfast was very good, above my expectation for this kind of hotel.

First off, front desk lady had the most miserable look on her face. No smile, nothing. Just asked for my ID and thats it. I had to ask her if she needed anything else from me. They require a $100 deposit/hold for damages but yet the room is in not so good condition. For $100 it was a rip off. The floors were dirty. The shower tub was disgusting with hair, someone's boogers, pee on the toilet seat. My throat started hurting when I turned the AC on, it was off when I went inside. Then the following morning the water was shut off and no one, absolutely no one let me know so im guessing no guest was notified. They expect us to pay $100 to have no water during our stay. I checked out due to this. I will not be staying back here. It was not worth the $100.

Everything, rude staff, even got stuck in the elevator. Husky guy that works the counter at night time clearly doesn’t like his job overall do not recommend.

The employees are so very nice. The bathroom and bed were clean. The only negative thing I have to say is upon check in we had to sign a non-smoking agreement which was fine neither of us smoke. When we entered the elevator to go to our room, it reeked of Marijuana! The hallway onbrhe 2nd floor also smelled like that. The next morning when I got into the elevator, I got stuck in it. The door would not open and the elevator would not move. Luckily I had my phone with me and I was able to call the front desk. They shut all of the power off leaving me in the dark elevator. Eventually the power did come back on and the door opened.

The only thing that I liked about this property was the breakfast! I had a very disappointing experience at Best Western during my stay on Saturday, March 21. That morning, I called to request early check-in and was told there would be a $56 fee. While I was willing to pay, I simply asked for clarification since I’ve worked in hospitality for years and have never been charged when a room was already available. The receptionist responded rudely, saying, “Well, we do,” with an unprofessional attitude that set the tone for the rest of the stay. Upon arriving and checking into our room, we found hair in the bathtub, which is completely unacceptable. We contacted housekeeping, but communication was difficult as most staff did not speak English. When we finally found someone who did, we were told to “just use water” to remove it ourselves—which is not an appropriate solution. We expect a clean, sanitized room, not to clean it ourselves. We reported the issue to the front desk, but when we returned, the bathroom still had hair in the tub and on the counters. Overall, this was a very poor experience due to lack of cleanliness, unprofessional customer service, and failure to properly resolve an issue. I’m relieved we only stayed one night.

However, the elevator is honestly a nightmare. I feared I would get stuck in it each time, I really suggest it gets checked. Couldn’t find a plaque card stating the last time it even serviced but by the noises it made I would guess it had been a while. Overall if I ever find myself in Houston again I would be open to booking another stay here. (Cannot comment on amenities or breakfast as I did not partake)

Breakfast was just okay, saw 4 bugs in the room between 1/17-1/18 near the restroom and door. Was stuck on the elevator w/my daughter luckily, I had my cell because I had to call the front desk, she was panicking and crying. They had to reset the elevator in order to get us out.

The room and hotel overall was good; however, the bed was so lumpy and pillows were not comfortable. The elevator was worrisome because it made loud noises and moved very slowly. Would I stay there again? Yes if I had to… but request first floor :)

Was told the elevator just went down that morning and I was on 2nd floor because there are no rooms with a king bed on first floor. I got bad knees and need one knee replacement so I was upset and to make things worse I read reviews and the elevator has been down for a while not just that morning so I was not told the truth. The place is nice though.

The room was in good condition, however it smelled like a combination of stale cigarette smoke and mold. The scent was amplified when the AC/heating unit in the room was on. I had to turn it off just so that I was smelling less of that odour.

The rooms and bedding was clean and towels were clean. AC worked great too. If you are street side you will hear the cars on the freeway. The front desk staff didn't want to accommodate early check in without a fee when there was clearly nobody there. In addition, she didn't want to accommodate changing name because room was book through expedia so I did get it change through expedia and smooth sailing checkin. The swimming pool was opened; they offer business and laundry services; and, pets are allowed. Plus, this was the most economical option compared to several other major brand hotels in the area. We have stayed here a couple times now and both times the hotel room is comfortable and clean the front desk person is always nice. The only problem if your a light sleeper the noise from highway may be an issue. I like staying here because the price is affordable , the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and the parking lot is completely safe because they have most of the parking behind a security gate.

This place has turned us off from ever using Best Western again. Traveling across country and this is by far the worst Best Western we have stayed. 1. Undisclosed fee of $100 upon check in regardless if you paid in full online. They stated it would be only refunded after our room was inspected after check out. Our stay was good. Clean rooms; bedding, bathroom, and towels. Lots of parking. The breakfast was good and self serve. The only negative is that our key was turned off after 1 night, when our stay was for 2 nights. So we were locked inside gate and had to call office to get out. The person at desk said that the key was processed for 1 night by accident.

Pretty good place, the woman at the front was really nice and everything seemed well. Only thing was the elevator was a little sketchy and we did have a leak with the rain in our bathroom.

The hotel staff at check in was friendly the hotel smells and looks clean room had a faint Oder bed was comfortable I felt very safe because of security gate one way one way out but the noise from the highway was almost too much I got woke at 3 am by a car screeching tires. Over all hotel was great for the price I would stay again

The area didn’t feel the safest, most of the staff wasn't very friendly or welcoming. The breakfast was horrible and had a terrible layout! The build needs some repairs and new beds!

Hotel was just ok, but the elevator quick working one day into our stay and was not fixed when we left. Ice machine never worked. Breakfast was barely edible. Sausage was grey and looked dead. Would not stay here again.

There was nothing unique. The breakfast was okay at best, the elevator was slow and always sounded like it would crash at any minute, the luggage cart was raggedy and hard to maneuver and we only had 2 large and 2 small bags! It was average at best and I would not choose this location again!

There is no good service, it smells bad the area of the dinning room, there so much noise comming from exterior, elevators creaks.

Exactly what was needed. A nice, quiet, clwan place to lay our head at night while travelling across country.

The room was nice for the most part. You could tell there is possibly a foundation issue from some cracks around the room. The hotel advertised queen-sized beds which are more or less full-size beds. The waffle area is mislabeled as far as flavors when I alerted staff of the issue, I was told it was always going to be mislabeled due to the amount of different options they had.

The hotel was great but that night staff was incredibly helpful. I’d definitely go there again just because of the service.

Check in was really slow. It was one person at the front desk working. Other than that the stay was ok. The outside looks rundown but the inside is decent enough. My husband said the breakfast was good.

Front desk employee Eva was very unprofessional. She was rude, didn't greet us, had an attitude with the guest before me then with me. Other than that the room was very clean, bed was comfy, pool was great and the breakfast was very good

The lady who checked me in did not have the best customer service. The hallway smelled like pee and my room stunk so bad I had to go out and buy candles. It was not pleasant.

The room was quiet and clean. The parking is gated and you can feel safe staying here. Not much of a breakfast person but they did provide variety. Convenient location right off the freeway for i10 road trips.

Hotel looks to be in a bad neighborhood but the facility itself was very nice and comfortable. The lady behind the desk was very friendly and even remembered my name to wish me a pleasant evening as I was walking by the front desk. The bed was very comfortable-I got a very good night's rest-something not easy to do in a strange bed

Room had pee around the rim. Everywhere else appeared clean. Called front desk sge said she will look into it & hung up. I went downstairs to check what she was going to do since she wasnt clear about what she was going to do. She looked at the pee & took pics. Put us in another room, but didnt seem happy about it. Was not friendly. Beds were super firm. Half pillows uncomfortable. Breakfast area was clean & ok choices. Price was affordable but would not stay again.

My room smelled like mildew and the toilet had urine stains or rust stain but it was left unclean

The first-floor carpet was not cleaned. You can see the tracks on the carpet. Need to have REAL eggs instead of those patty eggs. For the coffee get some Delight Hazelnut.
