Nice location and staff. Room was spacious and clean

We loved staying here . The room was clean. Staff was super helpful and friendly and we really liked the short walk to the beach . We loved that we had our own little kitchenette where we could cook. They also have grills outside which we will have to use next time. The beds were comfy and the rooms looked like they were upgraded recently.We had a very comfortable stay and we can't wait to go back next year.

I love the quiet location! It's 2 blocks to the beach, the rooms are cozy. I had a kitchenette. The kitchen was stocked with 100 plates 2 spoons 2 forks, pots pans and 1 bowl, 1 glass 1 wine glass. Bring your own aluminum foil, paper towels, they provide dish soap and there is a small working dishwasher. You need to let the desk know for house keeping. Unfortunately we said every other day and Noone showed up at all the 4 days that we were there. I asked for clean towels and forgot where they kept the extra toilet paper so we ran out, but we had a wonderful time.

The location was nice and close to the beach. Very steep hills to walk up and down. The hotel was ok, its dated. The kitchenette could use some updating. The refrigerator was hard to get a gallon of milk into, the door wouldn't open up wide enough with out us completely moving it out to move the shelves up or down. The stove had a short in it so the burners would stop working while trying to cook. There were no hot pads, dish towels and it would have been nice to have a full set of dishes. We had 4 people but there were only 3 cups, 2 bowls and no bigger bowls to mix stuff in. We enjoyed the terrace to sit on and look at the ocean. There is no one there after 6pm if you need assistance and parking is very tight. But we still enjoyed our stay

Property was perfect! Stones throw to Moonlight Beach and the 101! Rooms are super nice! Staff helpful and diligent! I recommend this property! I will definitely stay there again!

We have family in Encinitas so have stayed in a lot of places there and surrounding area (Carlsbad). This time we wanted to stay in Encinitas to be close for all the family activities . The Moonlight Beach Motel was perfect! It was clean, walking distance to the beach and the 101 and five minutes away from family. We absolutely loved the location, the friendly staff, and the comfortable room. Will definitely stay there from now on.

Quiet simple motel with kitchen. Close to the beach. Staff is always so nice. Views are great. Always enjoy our stay here.

Very nice motel but it’s old. Very clean. Receptionist was very sweet. Only thing is that there’s no one on property after 6pm and it can get a bit noisy by other guests. The area is prime location so therefore expect noise especially weekends. It’s a bit over priced but you can get better deal from 3rd party websites like hotels.com. Overall my 3 day stay was nice. Total cost$800

Can’t beat the view! Room was clean and parking was easy. I will definitely book again if I am in the area.

I loved the location. It's walking distance to the beach and local places to eat. I didn't get to use much of the room amenities/property because I pretty much used it to rest halfway my destination. I would like to come back and enjoy the property next time. Check in was easy and communication with property staff was reachable 24/7.

Moonlight Beach Motel is a delightful, quaint, beach motel, only a 5 minute walk to beautiful Moonlight Beach. And also only minutes to wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. And if you are visiting Scripps Encinitas, it is less than a 10 minute drive. We loved our view of the ocean from our patio. The kitchenette in the room was so convenient, and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff at the desk ( not 24 hours) were very friendly and helpful. Beach necessities are provided as well. Would definitely come back to enjoy this updated vintage motel - can’t beat the beach proximity and price!

Great staff and clean rooms. AC was broken and housecleaning never came by at the time they were supposed to. Overall a solid hotel and in a lovely area! 8.5/10

A bit noisy with tourist traffic and trains; while neither of those issues has any way to be controlled, the trains offer a nice, nostalgic feel.
