My wife and I stayed for 2 nights while celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We loved the idea of staying at a unique property and were not disappointed. Robert, the innkeeper and owner, was excellent and provided a nice breakfast for us, as well as, history about the mansion and Dubuque Iowa in general. While the property does exhibit it's age, it's character was everything we had hoped for. We also loved that the location was central to the downtown area and many businesses were within walking distance. We will surely stay here again when we are in the Dubuque area.

The decor was nice and home. Abe the establishment was very clean.

Beautiful property that has been neglected. Owner seemed more interested in selling it. We left early (stayed only 1 of 2 nights).
-
Rooms have imperfections but the charm, staff and breakfast surpass it all. We will be back.

Robert was an amazing host. This is a beautiful very old building. It had a lot of character. It could use some restoration. But would highly recommend staying at Robert’s place

Breakfast was very nice. Older mansion that has beautiful wood work. Main level in good shape. My room had peeling/taped wallpaper. Painted woodwork was chipped and dirty. Smoke detector in room was disabled. Bed was firm. Small bathroom.

Easy access to downtown, fabulous host, fresh fruit at breakfast and socializing with other guests; delightful experience!! Bed was comfy too!

Richard was great.

Robert was a fun and welcoming host. Dubuque in February was not a super-lively place but we made the most of it. Construction across the street woke us around 7 am, making the 8 am do-or-die breakfast schedule understandable. The building is a living and breathing treasure. We enjoyed the video souvenir of our stay.

Was a ver elegant Victorian mansion. The host was very accommodating and breakfast was very nice. The rooms were comfortable but relied on space heater Excellent bed bathroom was dated. Overall nice place
