Populus is an amazing hotel! From the staff and cleanliness to the restaurant and coffee shop, everything was exceptional. The entire property is absolutely beautiful, and every detail feels thoughtfully designed. We had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back!

Cons: The standard queen room is tiny. There is no dresser, the closet is small, desk is nightstand sized. The entry is black, making it difficult to do make up, contacts, etc. There was a lighted mirror but again very small space.

The hotel features great decor and architecture but this was undermined by a poor experience. The hotel does not have a proper events venue so it uses the restaurant to host weddings and other private events that deny access to the guests of the hotel. Hotel guests should be a priority for this type of hotel and unfortunately that is not the case. We were asked to walk to another restaurant for restaurant service and directed to eat snacks from the minibar instead. During our stay there were several consecutive days including a whole weekend when the restaurant was not made available to hotel guests while charging guests an extra "amenity fee". The hotel has a nice gym but no swimming pool, so the hotel restaurant feels like a minimum thing to count on among amenities.

The room also has that design where the sink is out in the open instead of the bathroom, which I'm not a fan of. Another con is that the mini-fridge is very small and since it's already filled with the minibar items, it's hard to store my own items like drinks/snacks I bought myself. Otherwise the gym is pretty decent and the hotel looks very cool and futuristic!

The hotel and rooms were nice and clean. The fridge in my room did not work, I wasn't there very long so I did not bother messing with it. The TV service cut out one night in the middle of a movie and wouldn't come back on. The place was filled with hidden fees especially valet parking which is why I will not book here again.

The bathroom sink was also in the “bar” area of the room so my husband felt like he was shaving in the kitchen. That said, the rooftop bar was amazing.

We had an amazing stay! The food was amazing and the staff were so helpful. I could have lived in the soaking tub. The only thing that caught me off guard was that there was not a dresser in the room to unpack clothes.
