I did not have breakfast I in fact cancelled all my reservations as I had no faith in the level of service after my first nights experience I had a deeply troubling experience at this hotel, which fell far below any reasonable expectation of service, professionalism, or guest care. This is not a five-star hotel. From the outset, it became clear that there is a fundamental lack of hospitality experience behind the operation of this property. The hotel is owned by two young men—one a doctor and the other an engineer—with no apparent background in hospitality, which is very evident in the service provided. Although the property itself is visually stunning, the reality of staying there reveals significant shortcomings. The rooms are impractical, not properly maintained by housekeeping, and lack attention to detail. Even the welcome note left in the room contained an entirely incorrect surname—not a minor spelling error, but a completely different name—demonstrating how impersonal and poorly managed the service is, along with a clear lack of oversight in staff responsibilities. From the very beginning, even prior to my arrival, there were repeated issues in my correspondence with the hotel. Email communications contained multiple inaccuracies and inconsistencies, which should have been an early indication of the lack of organisation and attention to detail that ultimately defined my stay. At approximately 6:40 AM, I was woken by extremely loud music coming from what initially appeared to be the suite above mine. This turned out to be the owner who then came down in his bathrobe to shout at me for complaining and then evicted me from the hotel and tried to keep my money, but not before he instructed his staff to go through my belonging and pack them whilst I was out celebrating my birthday!

Absolutely nothing to like about this supposed five star hotel. The suite was dirty with left over belongings from previous guests, the towels hard and dry, the high tech does not work, the pool is in fact a pond. The owner is very rude which translates to his staff, staff are barely trained and have no idea of customer service. Elys the front office manager actually laughed in my face when I raised a complaint, so called welcome card had the wrong name entirely on it. Worse hotel experience I have had to suffer completely ruined by birthday. Most seriously, loud music was played above the room at around 6:40 a.m., waking the guest. When this disturbance was raised, the owner responded rudely and shouted instead of addressing the problem professionally. This conduct is wholly incompatible with any acceptable hospitality standard, let alone the five-star standard under which the property is marketed. The situation then escalated further: after a complaint was made, the owner evicted me the guest from the hotel and retained the payment. Being removed from the property for raising legitimate concerns about noise, conduct, service failures, misleading facility advertising, and malfunctioning facilities is unacceptable and demands urgent review.

Very friendly reception and delicious food Our bedroom was overcrowded with too much furniture for the size of the room . Surfaces were cluttered with ornaments and chairs were filled with too many cushions. Not enough lighting especially in bathroom. No proper bed side cabinet. The toilet seat was the oldest toilet seat I have ever encountered. A shame we were probably in the worst room as some looked less overdone, but even so it wasn’t appropriate for a hotel room.

location, amazing chef his food is so good and hes very nice and the hes the best thing about the gotel and the only one that made the hotel worth something atleast the food was good and honestly the best 3 things are the food, location, and room comfort. The reception staff were not that welcoming, disnt explain to us anything other than how tierd and short staffed they were!! not that great honestly comparing to other hotels we have been to in brugge this hotel doesnt compare with them and def not worth the money

    Luxurious hotel and garden

  • Engine customer May 2026

The general atmosphere, the music, the exellent food, the pool. No door between our bedroom and the bathroom, very low ceiling for the second floor rooms, room available quite late because of a window being fixed as late as 5pm, when we arrived at 2pm,

I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with my daughters for 2 nights. The room was exceptional and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable with a pillow menu. Lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. A truly lovely place to stay This is where the property lets itself down. My key stopped working twice which wouldn’t normally be a problem however the second time was late at night when no staff are present at all so no one to help. Luckily I phoned the reception number and was eventually put through to a person (after being cut off twice) who told me to go outside of the property and find a key safe where there was a keycard that would open the room. It was an absolutely farce which took us about 45 minutes to sort out. The second point was on check out. The property tried to charge me again for the rooms despite me already paying almost 3 weeks before on booking.com. It was an embarrassing having to explain that they were wrong and even when I showed my credit card bill they still didn’t seem to believe me and said they would call me after they had checked with booking.com…. Finally the lights and electrical items in the suite are controlled by an tablet which didn’t always work as it couldn’t connect to the Internet.. whilst these points don’t seem to be major I would expect a hotel which charges this much to get the small things correct… some work needed here to improve.
