I could easily hear the people upstairs and I don't think they were being loud

The staff were very helpful and kind. It was close to the city center, making it easy to get around. The room is a little small. But it is like the photos.

Cleanliness. Friendly staff. An available espresso machine. The staff allowed us to leave our luggage until our departure to the airport, which meant a lot to us since our flight was late in the evening. Thanks to this, we were able to fully enjoy the day walking around and sightseeing. Many thanks to the staff!!! Unfortunately, the heating did not work. There was an electric heating device installed in the room, but unfortunately it was not working. I informed the staff that the heating was not functioning; however, the issue was not resolved, nor were we provided with an alternative heating device. The staff provided us with additional blankets, but this was not an adequate solution to the heating problem. The staff were genuinely kind and professional, but the heating problem remained unresolved. In addition, there was no heating in the bathroom.

Location is perfect in the center The room size was very small for a triple room. The blanket was not clean.

Location was great, staff pleasant, and room was clean , quiet, and with private bathroom and shower with good water pressure. We came after check-in was closed, and main office was very close ( as we were notified), where we got our key and all instructions. Coffee, water and small fridge was available in common area. Linen was crispy clean and enough towel for 3 people. Down side of our stay was no WiFi available. I called, and was promises it will be fixed, but me and my family never was able to connect still. Also, it was disappointing to see lamps on the wall, and even toilet were loosely attached.

Location, cleaning, shower, free coffee and water There's little sound isolation between rooms, the doors are not easy to close from the outside which results in guests exiting and making a lot of noise in the morning while you're sleeping. Also, if the room near you is using the shower, it makes a lot of noise

Good location. If you’re looking for a warm welcome and a friendly smile at a hotel you’ve paid for, Hostal Martinval is not the place. Upon arrival at our scheduled check-in time, we found the manager on the phone - which was completely fine, and we patiently waited. However, after standing in front of him for 15 minutes with no acknowledgment, no place to sit, and in a rush for our plans, we asked if he could give us our room keys. At that moment, he abruptly ended his call and proceeded to shout at us, insisting he wouldn’t tolerate such 'attitude.' He then condescendingly informed us that he had been speaking with a VIP client and that, unlike in 'our country,' things in Barcelona are done differently. The hospitality continued in the same manner - rude, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional. When I later apologized and tried to ask about the city tax and our stay, I was repeatedly interrupted and not allowed to speak. I have never been treated so poorly, especially in a place where I was a paying guest. To top it off, our toilet started leaking on the second day, flooding half the room. While another receptionist fixed the issue relatively quickly, no apology or compensation was offered. If you’re looking for a pleasant stay in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

The bathroom and shower did not look clean. The towels were very thin. The room was tiny, not what we expected for what we paid. I felt claustrophobic in the room.

I really liked the location. Cleaning every day. We had no internet at all in our room, and my phone couldn't even see the router name. The floor was super cold, and the first evening in, we had a little warm water in the shower. In pictures it looked better.
