    The rooms were clean and comfortable. On the first night we stayed only one elevator worked and we had a long wait to even be able to get to our rooms. The laundry room was inaccessible. On the way home a week later, our second stay there the elevator STILL didn’t work. Luckily the staff person Dante was incredibly kind and gave us a first floor room!!! For the money I would probably find somewhere else to stay.

    Room was clean and fairly modern. Guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Pot holes in parking lot. Elevator out. One that worked was very slow. No free breakfast buffet. Some of the buttons on the tv remote did not work.

    If you stay here make sure you check the water faucets in your room. We didn’t have hot water in the shower!! The staff were very slow in resolving the situation. In addition, all of our group’s key cards stopped working during the day. When I had the manager reprogram the cards I noticed she reprogrammed one card twice. I let her know and she was very adamant that she did two. Guess what…only one card worked! The restroom light in one of the rooms did not work. It was reported but never fixed. All the trash cans in the common areas were overflowing at all times. Very disappointed.

    This is our second time to stay at this property. This time our room was not vacuumed. Very good. There was paper in Kleenex pieces to the right of the bed. In the room we stayed in had a view of the outside decor wall. Yuck. Did not like that I could not bring my breakfast up to my room and eat. I didn’t have a lot of time and wanted to eat while I was getting ready. We were told we had to eat in the restaurant. Very disappointing. The other thing that I wasn’t happy with was that they would not take cash. I understand it as a safety issue, but that’s frustrating to me too.

    Dated and worn. Needs an update. Charging $12.99 for a breakfast that should be free. No commercial coffee service. They were running two Mr. Coffee drip coffee makers that couldn’t keep up. No complimentary coffee in the morning like most holiday inn locations. Much nicer holiday inn express across the street. About the same money.

    Traveling with my dog and was asked to sign the pet policy (as per usual). I asked the front desk agents where the designated area for dog walking is and neither knew. The reason for this was apparent once I found it - a minefield of dog poop of various stages of fossilization all along the side and back of the property. Apparently no dog owners pick up after their pets (understandable since no bags were stocked at the station) and I guess there’s no staff looking after the grounds.

    The tv had no signal. The coffee in the room was decaf and there was none available in the lobby. When booking, I failed to notice that I wasn’t across the street, where breakfast would have been included in the cost of the room. That one is on me, but I thought Holiday Inn provided breakfast, since it was at every other one I had visited, I believe.

    I liked the General Manager. She was nice even though the hotel was terrible. Well let’s see. The bar is closed(no staff). The pool is closed. The rooms have rust in the tubs, and the first room I was in the bed smelled like cheap men’s cologne. The breakfast is pay only. The restaurant is closed. The movie theater across the lot is boarded up.

    Had issues checking in as I still have a Amarillo DL. Was told that this hotel does not rent to locals. Had to provide another address otherwise I was not going to be checked in. Was told that the owners did not like locals due to issues with locals in the past. Would advise owners to find another field outside of hospitality. Can not judge a book by a cover .

    I booked this hotel for my sister right after she was discharged from the hospital, and I can’t say enough about the staff. They were incredibly sweet and genuinely caring toward her, which meant the world to both of us during a stressful time. From the moment I arrived, it was clear how concerned and attentive they were to her needs. Their kindness made me feel truly seen and supported, and it went far beyond what I expected.     The whole hotel had a feeling of clean, well designed and well kept building. The bathroom is always the test area. Ours was very clean, it has a professional caulking job and there was no visible mold or weird odors.

    Room next to me seems to be having a party banging children yelling for over a hour called front desk four times and invited them to the room to hear chaos going on.     The room was ok. Housekeeping did not clean my room even though I did not have the Do Not Disturb sign on. The breakfast buffet was pretty bad, especially for $12.99. I booked this hotel over some others because they said they had a restaurant/bar, but it was closed because of construction. Front desk staff on the night shift was less than friendly and seemed more concerned with watching videos on her phone. There were also a few little things that seemed very petty, such as I asked if I could have a plastic spoon from the buffet and was told that they're not supposed to give them out but they would make an exception for me. Really? It's just a plastic spoon, for heaven's sake. I didn't feel like they were very welcoming or that they appreciated my business. I won't stay here again.

    The gym was closed and being renovated,trying to get in and out of parking lot was like being in a maze.The bathtub was not what i was looking for as we had to step in and out.I had my elderly mother and trying to get her into a bed 3ft off the floor was no fun.Also the room was very small not enough room for 2 people with luggage also no sink in the cubby hole with coffee maker.The tv had limited channels and remote batteries were no good and the remote was not connected to the tv.

    I have stayed at this property while traveling through every year since it opened but this time was terrible. Breakfast now costs 13 dollars. The pool was closed by the health department. The bathtub was rusty. The towels were dingy. Holes in the sheets. Should I continue? Needless to say I will never stay there again.

    It was raining the day of arrival. Window was not completely sealed and was leaking. We stepped out for dinner, came back and noticed curtains had dry water stains and the furnace completely wet, and a puddle on the window. Dried the furnace with a towel, and placed it on the window to try minimize the water dripping sound.

    Not recommended it smelled so bad once we just entered like someone used the restroom and just left, or the cleaning didn’t use any type of cleaning products there was dirt all over the bathroom floor even the microwave has smudge of dirt stuck on the buttons and all over. We arrived really late and we just went to bed but there was so much sound outside it just made the place even more uncomfortable.

    We chose this place just for the pool & hot tub. But both were out of service. You need to post that on your website. No caffeine free coffee in the room, lobby or at breakfast. I can only have CF due to heart issues. Breakfast states full service, but not true. Also states until 10. We got there at 945 and there was no food left. Lady at desk was very rude. We will not be back.

    When I called to figure out what had gone wrong, the General Manager named Carter answered, I then asked her some questions about what had gone wrong. This seemed to upset her and the calmer I was, the louder she got, and she became very aggressive, obnoxious and rude. Carter then yelled out, thus saying " I'm just going to check you out!" and she hung up on me. I never raised my voice at Carter, I did not use any inappropriate language, I remained professional and calm. I am a retired Texas State Trooper and was in Amarillo Tx to conduct some training for a Christian based organization. This General Manager's behavior was Highly Unacceptable for a customer-based business, and she should be FIRED! I never want to stay at this Holiday Inn Express ever again, which is: Holiday Inn West Medical Center. 8231 Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo Tx 79124. I will filing a complaint with either Corporate or the owner(s) of this Hotel.

    We arrived shortly after 5:00 PM and were disappointed to find that our rooms were not ready. We had to wait approximately 30 minutes before we could check in. During this time, the front desk attendant appeared disorganized and uncertain in handling check-in procedures, which added to the delay and frustration. I think this will be our last time stay at this property.

    Hot tub closed was told they added chemicals this was at 2 in the afternoon. Was told to come back in an hour i did and front desk said maintance man was not there to open. This was so frustrating. The morning breakfast was out of a lot of supplies. In all very disappointed!

    Front desk staff were unfriendly and I had requested for my room to be cleaned since I was staying multiple nights and was not cleaned when I came back from appointments. Then catching housekeeping in the hallway asking if my room could be cleaned, which they were happy to start, mistakenly took my wife’s garment next to the dirty towels and the television remote from our room. Housekeeping was kind and helpful but communication from front desk staff was poor and rude. I will never stay here again.

    The whole reason I booked this hotel was because they advertised a bar and restaurant. I was having a weekend getaway with my partner and wanted drinks in a safe place after dinner. Come to find they decided to close the restaurant. The person who checked me in did not tell me about breakfast times so by the time I got down there they were closed. Frankly the annoyance from this inconvenience makes everything else stand out. Like how the curtains in the room don't close so privacy is impossible, or how the jets in the hot tub don't work, or how the staff is basically hanging out all around the hotel. Overall it was okay. I likely won't stay here next time we're in town.

    Got a “presidential suite” Room was cozy. Only disappointed with the tub that was out of order and had old water from who knows when. Since the tub was out decided to go use the jacuzzi, only to be disappointed by the water looking dirty in the only warm jacuzzi out of the two.Talked about getting some sort of reimbursement but didn’t really get any help with that.

    The drain in the shower was backed up and it looked dirty. The closet doors looked a little roughed up, but the bed was fluffy and comfortable. The channels on the television were choppy and it was hard to watch anything but forensic files.

    Room 439 needs some attention. All was fine except in the bathroom. The tub definitely needs refinishing. I almost didn't want to get in it and certainly would never have considered sitting in the tub. Also, couldn't get a good temperature on the shower, either way too hot or too cold - that middle did not exist! Husband had same problem.
