Sleep Inn Waukee-West Des Moines

I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately a deal breaker for me was the sheets! I have never had to write a review like this. They use cheap, microfiber sheets instead of cotton. I cannot STAND microfiber sheets. It was like sleeping between two sheets of plastic. I woke up several times during the night sweating like crazy and stank so badly in the morning. They were awful, like they purchased their sheets on Temu. Everything else about the room was good. It was big, clean, and the mattress was comfortable for a hotel mattress. The staff are very nice. The room has toiletries attached to the wall, and the shampoo was out, but otherwise good. The breakfast was adequate but the normal spread. Coffee was terrible. I would have rated this visit much higher if it weren’t for the sheets but again, that is a deal breaker for me.

We were checked in quickly. Staff was very pleasant. The king room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast well stocked with anything/everything. There is a pool, which we didn’t have time to use since we were o Lu staying one quick night. Price extremely reasonable for all this!

The night staff was above and beyond fantastic and helpful. Day time was great too. I just didn’t interact with them as much. Appreciated breakfast but the eggs were not hydrated well enough and were too dry and stiff. Hotel was too far out for my liking but I appreciated the quiet. Meal options near by is limited. Don’t go to the Hawaiian bros unless you enjoy microwaved food that will make you sick.

Employee assigned another guest to the room at 1:30am. The deadbolt didn't lock and the bar blocking the door is the only thing that kept the door from opening. After some barking and yelling the people went back downstairs. Our keys no longer worked in the morning so when I left to take the dog out I had to wake my dad to let me back in. We said something at check out, we got an apology and some snacks and a promise of points or some compensation but 24hrs later no one has contacted us and no points or refund given. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was good.

Looks newer from the outside but the rooms/halls/etc. already have significant wear and it appears aged far more than it is due to maintenance and keep up of the property.

Room was clean and check in was easy. We could hear the guests above us walking around which was surprising. We checked in late after a long day of driving and needed to sleep in. Disappointed that breakfast ended by 9. Otherwise it was a convenient and comfortable stay

The breakfast needs work, If they tell people that breakfast is from 6-9 then it needs to be HOT at 6 not have to wait until 7 for items to be warm/hot.

This is a great location and a very clean place to stay. The staff is very kind. The breakfast had lots of variety, but the supply ran out by about 9:00.
