The Kemilau Ubud

The rooms are pretty but not functional. The pictures look awesome on the website but the reality is much different. What we liked was the staff that helped us get a refund for our stay as we left early. Unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant stay. When we got there they immediately informed us that the elevators were broken and that the sauna was closed. Already bad. And then they told us they also had a construction site next door that would start making noise at 8am until 6pm… That was a deal breaker for us. We still spent there one night as it was already too late but we cancelled the other nights and the staff helped us coordinate our refunds with Booking.com. In the morning they started drilling and hammering even earlier than 8am actually, so it was a good choice to leave. Another thing important to any other future guest considering this hotel: it’s a new hotel, however they didn’t build a proper sound insulation between rooms, so you can literally hear everything from the adjacent rooms. Beware.

The hotel is beautiful and very clean, the staff were all so pleasant. A little away from the main noisy area but I liked it and still plenty of shops and restaurants in our street. The bathroom wall doesn’t meet the ceiling so not much privacy for bathroom time. Especially as I was sharing with a friend.

I stayed at this hotel hoping for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, but unfortunately there was loud construction right next to the building. The noise started early every morning, making it very difficult to sleep. The soundproofing in the rooms is also poor — you can even hear your neighbors walking. Another issue was an unpleasant sewage-like smell throughout parts of the hotel, which made the stay even less comfortable. The rooms themselves are nice, beautiful, and clean. However, the pool looks much bigger in the photos than it actually is — in reality, it’s quite small.

All was good, we enjoyed the stay. Clean rooms, good gym and spa areas. Tasty breakfast and lunch. Perfect coffee. Quality of the hotel is high. Beautiful design. They have great aroma dispensers all around the hotel. There is covered parking in the basement. All was good

What an absolutely stunning hotel! Everything about this place feels truly 5-star. The breakfast was simply wow — fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The room and bathroom were spotless, elegant, and full of premium touches. Every detail showed class and comfort. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious experience.

I love that hotel, it feels like home. The rooms are so incredible cosy, good lightening, beautiful open bathroom, the staff is super friendly. The small coffee shop in the lobby has the best Matcha lattes and nice they open very early They have a big issue with towels and I would really encourage the manager to buy additional towels to solve that issue. There are often no fresh towels after the room was cleaned as they are late in receiving them from laundry service and they have not enough towels for guests. Forget about pool towels. And when you check out they make you wait to check if you stole towels. Which is ridiculous as I just spent $1500 in that hotel, I will not steal the old and used towels from them. I mean Ikea Indonesia sells a pack of 4 handtowels for 50k. Please invest in towels and don't annoy your guests with checking the room if they take one of the towels home, this is so petty. Sometimes there is sewage smell from outside. Hallways are very noisy

Everything amazing, the young staff are so friendly & helpful. The resort is stunning, rooms are extremely cosy and comfortable. The lightening, beautiful open bathroom, the amenities. Perfect The wifi is disconnecting often There is an issue with towels, often you have to ask again and again to bring towels The street where the hotel is in, is always super congested from 2 pm onwards. It can take an hour by car so plan ahead and walk back

The property was in town and close to everything. My only issue was there was a leak coming from the room above in our bathroom.

The space is really beautiful but sadly the lift was under maintenance during my stay. Other than that, everything’s nice, the room is spacious and clean, the staffs are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Had a great stay!!! I like everything

The architecture

All the details were well thought out: beautiful room decoration, comfortable bathrobes, there’s also a bath with a foam if you want to enjoy one. The pool is amazing! There’s also a gym (didn’t go) and a spa in the hotel - visited it twice and it was good. The coffee island at the entrance offers great coffee and pastries. The location is also super good, there are some great cafes just in 3-mins walking distance. I booked it for 2 nights, but loved everything sooo much that I decided to book 2 more! The only downside was the construction noise which woke me up at 7:30 ? It felt like the construction works are taking place just behind my door.

Beautiful property that is elegantly designed. They play really loud music in the halls which is clearly heard in your room from 6am to 11pm. They accommodated me when I asked that they turn it off early so I could sleep, which was great. That said, it was not conducive to relaxing when the music was so loud all the time.
