The hotel received mixed reviews, with some guests praising the cleanliness, comfort, and affordability, while others expressed dissatisfaction with outdated facilities, cleanliness issues, and poor service. The majority of guests appreciated the quiet location and easy access to the highway.
- Quiet location
- Easy access to highway
- Outdated facilities
- Cleanliness issues

Due to bad weather in my area we did not go but still charged me for the room
- 4/5
Next day, we leave to go fishing and come back late afternoon, again on a very hot day, only to find that they had cleaned our room but turned the air conditioner OFF! Again another miserable hot room. We have stayed here multiple times because it is very clean. Just a little aggravating on a hot day!
- 3/5
Sheets were not change. The place was dirty and it smelled really bad.
- 3/5
Not bad for 1 night. Could use an upgrade. Need better pillows
- 1/5
The room was bug infested. We couldn't stay. They said it was because the door was open. The bed had bugs on it under it. There dead roaches in the bathroom. I would never recommend this place.
- 3/5
Simple and convenient place to stop, get a shower and catch up on sleep.
- 1/5
The bathroom was disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, there were fake eyelashes stuck to the counter, paint falling off the ceiling above the bed, the phone receiver was hot glued shut to the phone, and the tv was broken and couldn’t be fixed after the attempts. Would definitely never stay here again.
- 5/5
Excelled
- 5/5
Clean , peaceful and I will stay there again .
- 5/5
It was clean and comfortable
- 1/5
We didn't stay, there was blood on the pillow and it was disgusting.
- 4/5
Everything worked. Everything was as needed, was just a but dated and in need of some extra TLC.
- 3/5
Room had roaches. Staff was amenable to move us to other side of building, no problems in new room.
- 5/5
Courteous staff. I booked 2 nights even though I intended to stay 3. The staff figured it out the second morning and added the 3rd night in the same rooms for us with a smile.
- 2/5
Loud road noise all night long - need baffles and/or wall between highway and motel to help with the excessive noise
- 1/5
Rool was horribly disgusting
- 5/5
Service was great
- 4/5
Clean room
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. Clean room. Many upgrades. AC worked great.
- 2/5
Dirty, terrible in-room coffee. Air ran non-stop, severe road noise. Uncaring staff. Sign in reception stating: we charge per person so be honest about how many you have and… “we check”.. just feels threatening. Also, check in clerk was behind locked glass window. I was Leary about the safety of the location..
- 2/5
Sheets were old. Stained, cigarette burn hole in sheet
- 2/5
Old property. Guest smoking everywhere. Containers with cigarette butts setting around the walkways.
- 3/5
Overnight stay. Place is run down. Doors dont shut completely. Ceiling was falling down over the shower. Several bugs. AC didn't cool very well. Will not stay here again. No access to any places around due to a one way road.
- 1/5
I was there a total of 3 min tiny bugs crawling all over me from the carpet.
- 2/5
Holes in bedspread. Run down. Bathroom light did not work. Some upgrades in bathroom counter top. No stopper in tub. Noise from nearby railroad.
- 4/5
inexpensive stay for 2 days of hog hunting in texas
- 5/5
As far as the “area” around the property, in all fairness to Sanger Inn, there is a LOT of highway construction going on AND a lot of new businesses moving close by. I had a room to the front of the property and could hear the traffic on one of the busiest highways. (i35-North to OK). It didn’t really bother me but if you are a light sleeper, request a room to the back, further away from the noise of the traffic. For the cost, I had a very pleasant stay. Clean. Staff super accommodating/nice. If you’re looking for “bells & whistles”, pay $200 a night at a Hyatt or similar. If you’re happy with basic, friendly, clean, accommodating, small refrig & microwave. Sanger Inn is your place. I would stay again.
- 4/5
This being my 2nd trip on 6 months to the area, this location came out to be better than the last and much cheaper than my last. Will come back.
- 3/5
The highway noise was distracting when trying to sleep.
- 3/5
The room was ok. Light did not work in the bathroom and I did mention it to them but was not fixed
- 4/5
It was great even at the price
- 1/5
This is by far the most disgusting place I have ever almost stayed. I can’t believe it’s on Expedia. Don’t believe the reviews they are absolutely incorrect. Wash cloths looked like they were used to wash cars. Absolutely unacceptable, found a flea in my bed and said nope I’m sleeping in the truck. Horrendous too much wrong to list.
- 5/5
There are a lot of small things that make this a wonderful bargain for an o/n stay. Tissues, good frig, m/w, instant hot water and lots of it, nice furniture (not cheap, swivel chair needs to be replaced or covered), really big tv w/ great picture, and, this should have been first, pleasant check-in.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Sanger Inn. The beds could be updated, but we were still comfortable enough for the couple of nights we stayed. It was conveniently located to the highway and is very near many things. Overall great place to stay.
- 3/5
It needs to be updated. The wood frame around the ac unit is starting to rot.
- 2/5
In the rooms lots of bugs
- 5/5
Top
- 4/5
I have stayed here several times. Convenient to interstate. Older hotel but great bed and very clean.
- 5/5
I like it
- 4/5
The property is older but I have to say that the room was spotless, with a great tv and very cold ac, with I like. It’s close to the interstate but with the ac on you could barely hear the noise. I’ll stay here again
- 2/5
Bedspread had cigarette burns in a non-smoking room, refrigerator was not operational, hair dryer was non operational, chair was stained. Bed was so-so and the place was old and half -renovated. Way too pricy for the poor wuality.
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet nights rest. Check in/out was easy, staff very pleasant
- 5/5
Not very populated area, but close enough!
- 2/5
Did not think to look for roaches at the same time but the roaches were seen or the carpet near the fridge, on the tv table, on the fridge itself, and on bedroom wall near closet. Hair in bathtub seen as I was about to take a shower.
- 5/5
Check in to property was very fast and convenient. Did not need anything more than a place to rest, shower and regroup and this was a great spot to do so.
- 5/5
Great one night stay. Clean beds comfortable too.
- 3/5
Got non smoking room. Room had been smoked in and SMELLED BAD. The sheets and bedding did not seem to have been changed out due to the smell. Will pay more to avoid the stinky dirty room next trip.
- 5/5
We had a great time.
- 1/5
The carpet was filthy, and there was no breakfast.
- 1/5
The carpet was really dirty & a couple of small bugs were in the vanity/bathroom. It made my skin crawl for hours.
- 4/5
No bar soap for washing hands
- 4/5
The staff where berry nice
- 4/5
Room was clean. Bed was too hard. Towels were worn out. Coffee maker didn’t work well. Price was good for the value
- 4/5
Clean property for the price. Very nice family own staff
- 3/5
Nabors yard very dirty loose hair in the bed towels wear not fresh or clean , very friendly staff
- 3/5
The furniture was old and soiled, as was the carpet. There was a refrigerator, but it didn't work. The bed was comfortable. And the service was fine.
- 4/5
Clean & quiet place
- 2/5
Property outdated. Price high for what they offer. Wouldn't reco
- 3/5
Everything was great, until I saw they not only charged me the expected 104.00 for our room, but made yet another charge(totally unauthorized and unwarranted) for 410.00!! Now, they have said refunded, but it's not back in my bank! I have to have it by in the morning! They totally actually robbed my account for 410.00.. I need my money back today!! Not in a week or 2.. this is theft!
- 1/5
A group of guests were drinking in the parking lot, listening to loud music, and fighting with other guests. Some of them were kicking their doors because they were bloodied and drunk. Many of the guests just trying to rest were complaining. The hotel manager was clueles, even calling us thinking we were the source of the loud music and threatening to call the police. He never actually came to see what was going on, or call the police. Horrible!!
- 5/5
Excellent stay for the price. Friendly staff.
- 1/5
In requested a non-smoking room. The first room I was assigned was labelled non smoking but smelled strongly of cigarettes. I was then assigned a new room that smelled less strongly (but still a bit) and prepared for bed. Just before I turned out the lights, in spotted a bed bug nymph crawling across my pillow. The front desk clerk seemed confused by my statement about this fact. I ended up leaving and not sleeping all night and am now going through the precautions of bed-bug treatment so that I don't contaminate my parents' home. Ridiculous and disgusting.
- 4/5
Clean room. Only downside was it was a bit noisy from the highway.
- 5/5
Good location. Easy to get to.
- 5/5
Our room was noisy had asked for ground floor and got second floor no elevator hard time with stairs due to stroke. No more for me.
- 1/5
We didn't stay. Pictures don't do justice. I don't know about the reviews but all lies. I went this weekend as a last minute but people show good ratings and reviews. Well we didn't feel comfortable to stay. It was very sketchy. When we first arrived to check in, the place had a garage wide open, looked very dirty. There were beat up cars in the parking lot. When i went to the room to check in, it reeked of smoke. i order a non-smoking room. Second as i was walking out some guy in a plain shirt and shorts walks out with a laptop right above me. No offense but this guy didnt look like he was renting a room. We took off thinking it was going to be ok, when we return from dinner, people were outside the parking lot drinking and didnt look safe. My wife and i just grabbed out stuff and we checked out. i dont recommend this place at all. I dont thing they will give my money back but i would not recommend this place. This should be condemned.
- 3/5
Actually, for the price it was fine. It was clean, pretty quiet, some of it was updated.
- 5/5
. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Made up for it. They did some remodeling since last year.
- 3/5
Check-in okay. Room smelled like stale cigarettes. I was not aware there were still hotels that permitted smoking in their rooms. There was an ashtray on the table beside the bed, so I’m assuming it was allowed. The odor gave me a headache and stuffy nose. The rooms otherwise seemed clean. Visible air space at door. Wasn’t sure lock on door was that secure.
- 5/5
Located near the event that we were attending
- 5/5
The Sanger Inn was close to town, safe location and very clean as well as reasonably priced. There is no breakfast served...however, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable to our questions as to where to eat and where to shop. When we return to the Sanger area....we will definitely re-book our stay at the Sanger Inn.
- 2/5
Not a good one.
- 4/5
The facility appears relatively new. All modern amenities. Low cost occasionally draws lesser class personnel. Beds were of firm type, but good for me. Enjoyed my stay
- 2/5
Poor facility.
- 5/5
We enjoy our stay. Beds were comfortable and cleanrooms
- 5/5
The entrance door needs to fit the door frame properly. It was not sealed and light, noise, and insects & small vermin, snakes could easily get in. (*walls did prevent noises)
- 3/5
If all you need is a clean place to sleep and cleanup it's fine. The bed was hard as rock and I suggest you bring your own pillows. It was clean and the bathroom was well stocked and even had big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bodywash.
- 3/5
Carpet was dirty, bathroom very clean, had old bedspreads with cigarette holes
- 4/5
Not bad for the price
- 5/5
Nice stay.
- 5/5
The owners were so nice and very helpful. The property was very clean and the cost could not be beat in the DFW area.
- 5/5
Clean
- 2/5
I have no idea how this property has such a high rating. It's not that there is anything terribly wrong with the place, however you should have an honest idea of where you are going to stay. The Sanger Inn is about 30 years old and doesn't appear to have been updated since it was originally built. There is damage to the old walls and the carpets are worn. The room was clean, but it smelled heavily of smoke despite being a "non smoking" room. If you choose to stay at the Sanger Inn, you should expect a clean, but worn out, old room. In my opinion, it is the equivalent of an older Motel 6.
- 3/5
We only booked bc there were lots of reviews. And I acknowledge that I am used to staying in more brand hotels but my daughter and I did not feel safe or clean. We had to have somewhere to say that was last minute so we stayed. The doors need another lock. We pulled a chair in front of it. I pulled blankets from my car and we slept in our clothes just because we did not feel it was clean or at least clean enough for us. Stains on carpet and make shift things in the room. It wasn’t horrible and probably a good place for people who need last minute but we would not visit again. Our non smoking room smelled like it was an old smoking or like a grandmas house . We had to run the AC to get some more freshness smell.
- 3/5
No where to park. It wasn't very clean and the beds where to hard
- 5/5
It is right off 35 so you get traffic noise, but if you know ahead of time its easy to tune out. Sanger has some GREAT restaurants. Pelligrino and Babe's.
- 5/5
Its a decent little hotel. Nothing fancy but practical
- 5/5
Updated rooms with refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv, & cable. Very clean rooms & staff is nice. Definately would stay here again.
- 4/5
Nice staff that meets all your needs. Rooms could be updated for better review. Would definitely stay again.
- 1/5
Bad
- 2/5
Our non-smoking room reeked of tobacco and found two scorpions.
- 5/5
I spent two days. Room was large and nice. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. I highly recommended.
- 3/5
It was what it needed to be - a quick stop and a place to sleep. No more. No less
- 1/5
My 13 year old child accidentally booked this room and Expedia tried to reason with them and they did not want to refund me the money! Not to mention I would never book a room like this! Horrible all around the board!
- 2/5
Cigarette burns in bed cover and the room smelled like smoke in a supposedly non-smoking room.
- 5/5
The owner and staff are friendly and very helpful. The cleanliness and care of the rooms reflect their care for their business. It is obvious there is a pride of ownership.
- 2/5
TV did not work any time during the stay. Had a large TV with Direct TV service, but couldn't connect to the satellite. No attempt made to do anything about it. I said that I expected a discount on the room. Clerk nodded, but nothing done, full price charged.
- 4/5
Clean. comfortable beds. Clean facility, and a owner who was friendly and communicates well.
- 5/5
We’ve stayed here many times. No frills motel that is clean and safe!
- 5/5
Lovely place for a quick night's rest. Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Nice place, quiet at night
- 4/5
Everything was fine until the morning of checkout. There was a knock at my door approx 9:30am. I said “just a minute”, a few seconds later, another knock, I said the same thing a little louder. Before I could get completely out of bed a person was using the master key card to come into my room. I understood he likely did not hear me, but the check out is at 11:00am….why even give a checkout time if someone is aloud to just come in anyway! I’m grateful I had clothing on.
- 2/5
The sheets werw stained snd felt damp
- 3/5
Price was a little higher than what was in the email that was sent to me. Room was good for the price.
- 4/5
Very nice stay
- 4/5
Get what you pay for. Just ok.
- 5/5
Easy off highway location
- 3/5
Well I had a few bugs in the room. Its hot here in Texas and they don't keep the AC on AT ALL so my room was 82 degrees and took at least 45 minutes to cool down to 72. My room had a weird smell. Overall you get what you pay for. I would stay here again alone but if I bring the wife it wouldn't work.
- 4/5
Nice stay.
- 1/5
Horrible dirty unfriendly, no locks on door. They made 3 cards and only gave me 2. I checked out and went down the road to a Holiday inn
- 5/5
hidden gem
- 5/5
Great stay, Clean, Hot Shower, Comfortable beds, Warm reception checking in. Will stay again
- 4/5
Asked for smoking room did not get it could been a little bit cleaner in bathroom tube but quite and ok
- 4/5
Very comfortable to stay at.Will be back in the future.
- 4/5
It was a wonderful place, very clean and comfortable. Wish there had been coffee or a breakfast of some sort and an iron available. But over all a great place
- 4/5
Good for a lower budget hotel, room was clean and staff accommodating. Only issue was the a/c wasn’t in the room and it took several hours for it to cool down to a comfortable sleeping temperature.
- 1/5
Upon arriving at the motel after driving almost 300 miles, I was told they had no reservation for me, nor did they have any available rooms. I assume this was a mess up on Expedia's part.
- 5/5
Very nice couple of night's
- 5/5
Looks like a dump from the road, but actually the most pleasant stay ever. The staff was sleeping, but immediately served us during our 5 hour stay from 2-7 am. Giant tv, goo space for belongings, small but effective bathroom. No body wash, but shampoo and conditioner were full. Great stay and would recommend. For the best price in town I expected worse, NICE job!
