The traditional apartment was wonderful. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need. There was a big dining table and seating area. The decor was quirky with a piano (not tuned!) and a very old television. The bedroom and bed was very comfortable. TV in bedroom and WiFi great. Bathroom and shower with soap etc great. The terrace and furniture was a bonus and a lovely small garden. Staff were quick to poor the nice coffee at breakfast and offer refills. The owners are very friendly. Most of the staff were great too. I had a nice stay in the apartment and the price was good value for the space. Great location. I wasn't advised how to get in or out of the apartment at check-in. It has it's own entrance which the owner later advised me. Breakfast was a total mystery. My first morning i explained I was staying there, I was given the wrong menu so had to pay for breakfast. It was lovely but I hadn't budgeted for it. The second morning I showed my keys and asked for the free breakfast menu. If you like eggs that's great. Being vegetarian I had to help the staff to offer me a free alternative. I was given toasted rolls, butter and jam (Google translate is so helpful!). I ended up leaving some money for it as I had no idea if it was free as it wasn't on the free menu. The third morning, same issue. I was offered the rolls (fine) and a few bits of fruit which were not free. Hence a complete mystery! I spoke to the manager but with no resolve. Being a cold time of year, I was very cold in the morning and evenings. I'm used to some kind of heating, for example a small gas heater would have helped in the bedroom.

The location is perfect (short stroll to centre of town) in a quiet street. There is a lovely reception area with a place to sit and a beautiful garden courtyard where breakfast is served each morning. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend Hotel Ocho Barrios if you're coming to San Cristobal de las Casas and would definitely stay here again! We decided to stay an extra 2 nights. I can't think of anything!

The apartment is really great, though bad smelling for humidity The double room is quite small.

This was a nice, small boutique hotel close to the center of town but away from the noise. The water pressure was great along with the temperature. The rooms were clean with soaps and towels. The manager was very understanding and accommodating when we complained about some of the noises that were going on on our first night and offered to move our group to quieter rooms away from the front. A basic eggs and protein breakfast was also provided along with coffee or juice with bread. There's no AC in the rooms so check weather before arrival. November was nice & cool so we didn't need AC. Overall, our group had a great experience staying here and will return if we ever come back to SanCris. Towels were hung dry so they were rough & had a smell.

Good breakfast and great staff

The staff were exceptional! The hotel was somewhat in a state of disrepair. Things broken, kept having to ask for basics like toilet paper, hairdryer etc.

The hotel facilities were comfortable and nicely decorated. The owner was kind and allowed us to do early check in after a long bus trip, for a very reasonable fee. The breakfast was delicious and Amauri the waiter was super attentive. The internet was fast for remote work/ zoom calls and the location was a short walk to the town..lovely boutique hotel! We definitely enjoyed our one week stay Bed mattress a bit uncomfortable

The staff was very nice, breakfast was delicious, the location was fantastic. Nothing.

The hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly - Antonio and Fidel both went above and beyond to make our stay special! They also upgraded our room to suite as our original room was under maintenance which was appreciated We organised some tours with the help of the hotel. Whilst the tours were amazing, the guides only spoke Spanish which limited our experience a little. But we were grateful for Antonio organising it for us so we had no stress

We really liked our stay. The staff was very very helpful with any matter to make our stay better and comfortable. The breakfast area (terrace/garden) had a great morning atmosphere to start our day. The location is great as it is a few minutes away by feet from the main street. They helped us booking tours (at good prices!) We loved our time there and we would stay there again if we come back. Breakfast (included in our price, continental) was the same every day. You could order other dishes like scrambled eggs but at an extra cost.

The staff were beyond lovely and caring. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with a nice courtyard. The breakfast is the perfect setup for the day. The Wifi was poor in the rooms, but hardly a complaint, just an observation.

The garden and layout are nice. The “breakfast” was okay but meagre: coffee and a small bowl of fruit and yogurt. Also I thought it very strange that there are no locks on the doors to the rooms.

The property was beautiful, very friendly and welcoming staff. They were super helpful with looking into various tours and means of transport for us. The property was always super clean. It had a lovely garden and patio to relax in.

The hotel is in an excellent location for travelers. You can easily reach the main plaza after a 10 minute walk. Restaurants and bars are also a short walk away. The hotel is clean, provides purified drinking water for guests, and has such charming decor. The manager, Antonio, truly goes above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. My only remark is that the breakfast was a bit light for my liking. What is served is delicious, fresh fruit with yogurt and bread with marmalade but I typically need a bit more to eat in the morning. They did say you can purchase eggs if you’d like.
