Hyatt Place San Antonio - Riverwalk

The hotel was a 15 minute or 20 minute walk, depending on your age to get to the restaurants and main area on the Riverwalk. Which can be too far for some people, especially when it’s hot. And you can’t drive downtown because there’s no parking so you almost have to walk or take an Uber. Otherwise, we loved it.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Location was perfect, you walk out the backdoor and you're straight on to the River walk. Riverwalk was beautiful with lots of restaurants and bars, its also immaculate. We walked back late at night and felt totally safe. Rooms were also immaculate and very large with all the amenities you need. I would agree with others re the toilet being small, but we didn't experience water on the floor from the shower. Breakfast was lovely and we managed to get a seat easily each day. The Breakfast offering changed daily and we were lucky enough to get the little silver dollar pancakes! Now to the staff absolutely brilliant, very friendly and extremely helpful. Car park was easy to with parking straight outside the building. On check out we were able to leave our car there until 3pm, which meant we could visit the Alamo and have a lovely lunch and last walk along the Riverwalk before we left. This would be our hotel of choice if staying in San Antonio again.

Just got back from a vacation in San Antonio (Riverwalk). The Hyatt Place was wonderful. It is located on a quieter section of the Riverwalk, but just a 5 minute walk to where the action is happening. The included breakfast can't be beat. You name it, they had it -- eggs, oatmeal, bacon, various cereals, yogurt, etc. This is a great hotel. My husband and I are so glad we chose the Hyatt Place. We've already recommended it to our children and friends who plan to visit the Riverwalk. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Walk out the back door to the Riverwalk …got a lot of exercise daily. Good breakfast good coffee. Large rooms the best parking I could find for downtown hotels rate was about $25 per night to park Verdi’s other hotels were $50/for valet and hard to find any self park All good.

Hotel is very nicely maintained, ckean and in safe neighborhood. Less then 15 minutes from all restaurants and shops on River Walk. You get out of the rear door and are basically on River Walk itself. Less the noise and crowds. Breakfast in excellent and slightly changed daily.

Everything was just about what we could have asked for. Staff was really nice. The only issue I had was the room key not working with the parking gate arms. For what we paid for the room and parking, I would've expected everything to work properly. Other than that, no complaints.

Everything! Modern comfort on the riverwalk, we parked there and walked everywhere in the area. The parking was for 24 hours, so we were good to stay parked after checkout to tour the Alamo!

The hotel was centrally located and allowed us to walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go-the riverwalk, Alamo and lots of dining. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, better than typical hotel food.

I was very surprised of the outcome of the stay. Soon as I pulled in I was greeted and easily checked into my room. Room was very spacious and very well maintained, comfortable and extremely clean. Couldn’t be any more happier with my stay.

The hotel seemed to be well staffed with at least 2 front desk staff and manager on duty to ensure all guests were helped in a timely manner. They greeted us when returning from our excursions and ensured our stay was comfortable. Downtown streets were blocked to the hotel and staff was able to help guide us in with their knowledge of the area. Room was really spacious with separation between sleeping and relaxing area. Only downside: the toilet / shower room is VERY small and you have to manuever to the other side of the toilet to close the door and if the step out mat is on the floor, the door won't close.

The hotel IS on the River, but we had to walk a bit to get to the area that did tours/shopping/food.

Hard to regulate the AC especially at night. We did not get cool enough. Room was spacious with couch seating and counter and refrigerator. But Shower/toilet room was tiny. Door hit the toilet. We did appreciate being at the quieter end of the Riverwalk.

Disappointed Wharton’s so much for parking. It was basically an open parking lot with gate arms over the entrance and exit. Anyone could walk in and out. Can’t see the reason for close to 30.00 a day.

I enjoyed my 5-night stay there. The staff is very friendly and river view is beautiful. I would recommend changing the breakfast menu a little each day; having the same breakfast for four days in a row was a little boring. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Nice hotel for our family. Breakfast was good. Morning (day shift) front desk staff were very accommodating and hospitable. Great location. It’s not what I did not like about the property itself. My issue is with your phone and communication system. I informed the hotel in advance that we were checking in late at night around 10pm. I messaged them through booking.com where I made my reservation. I always use booking and am always able to communicate with the hotel property until now with Hyatt Place. No one replied to my message. I tried to call the number on the website but could not get through. Then I searched online and found another number but I realized later I was speaking to an AI. “She” was not helpful, spoke very fast and repeated another phone number that she told me to call. She repeated the number 4 times as if the robot system was glitching. We are a family with 2 reservations. My nephew and his family arrived and checked in earlier than us. I asked them to check on our reservation and the front desk informed him that our room is with a king size bed. I made my reservation months in advance for 3 adults and one child and specifically asked for 2 beds. The front desk then changed our room to 2 beds late at night when we arrived. Only when we went into our room we discovered we were given a Wheelchair Accessibility room. I was not informed by the front desk staff. Again, this is not what I reserved.

I love my stay at Hyatt..Shila was an excellent staff from the phone call to the arrival and stay, very professional with great customer service. Beds were so comfortable, breakfast was delicious.and balcony view was the hit..definitely coming back and recommending ? I love everything!!

We found that this hotel was close to everything, but not close enougj for us that we could walk to them. We walked to the River Walk loop on the first day, but it was just a little too far for comfort. We had to get an Uber for just about e erything we wanted to do.

The property felt clean. I think we happened to stay in a room that had already been modernized, and it was very clean. The room was clean and seemed recently renovated, which we appreciated. However, we were charged extra for parking even though we had already paid for our stay, which should really be included. The bathroom was extremely small — the door barely opened because it hit the toilet. Our room also didn’t have a microwave, and the one in the common area was in very poor condition. The staff was not very welcoming. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk, and when we arrived after 11 p.m. (with the lobby closed), the person who assisted us was quite rude. Overall, there are definitely better hotel options in the area.

Staff was great! The only thing was our AC didn't work when checked in. But the great part is they sent maintenance and was fixed within minutes. Great service! Hiccups are expected but it was handled extremely well. We thank yall! We will return.

My only complaint was the bathroom was very awkward. You had to literally stand in the shower to close the door. It only had an inch clearance between the door and the toilet. Overall all I would stay here again.

I have stayed at many hotels, and the team at the Hyatt Place San Antonio was a notch above all others. Seriously, I thought we were at the Four Seasons! Oh, and the breakfast was fantastic too!

Hotel was good but not close to much on Riverwalk. Had to walk a good 10+ minutes before finding any restaurants. Also getting in/out of parking lot was challenging with the security gate

We stay here whenever we come visit our son who attends Trinity. I like this hotel because parking is easier and cheaper than the other downtown hotels. The rooms are always clean, quiet, and comfortable. My only complaint is that the pillows are down pillows. They kill my neck. Other than that, I really like this hotel.

The bathroom is a little awkward. The shower and toilet are together in the water closet, and it’s hard to shut the door when you’re in there. The sink is outside the water closet directly at the end of the bed. There is a room safe, but the microwave is down the hall by the ice machine and elevators. There is complementary continental breakfast, a small hotel bar, and snacks. All in all, for the price, it’s a good place to stay.

The room was spotless, although it has a very weird layout. The restroom door is centimeters away from hitting the toilet. And the parking is pricey. Only thing really going for this hotel is the location.

Bar - I was served an old fashioned with cheaper liquor than advertised and no cherry. Nope. View - of the air conditioning unit and roof. Backside of the hotel was a nice view of the riverfront.

You can have a much better smelling lotion. Your current one smells like glue.

This property is on the River Walk, but in a quiet residential type of neighborhood. I like the location because the main business district is only a few minutes walk from the hotel along the river. So close enough to enjoy the fun of historic San Antonio, but far enough to have easy parking at the hotel and quiet and safe at night. The hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. I would stay here again.

The hotel was very nice! We were very pleased with our stay. The bathroom was a little snug, but the room itself is very spacious and comfortable! We walked about 10-12 minutes to the Riverwalk and about 20 minutes from the Alamodome. We were in town for a concert, no problems!

This was a relaxing quick trip of 5 family members. The Hotel gave everything you needed and more. On the Riverwalk but away from the noise and traffic. Near restaurants, shopping, and groceries. Very clean, free breakfast, laundry, and more. If you're looking for a romantic but fun and looking for everything above try this hotel.

Parking was outside and easy, had to pay $25 to park for the one night but was convenient and safe.There are 2 Hyatts near each other and initially we went to the wrong one. They were courteous.

Clean, modern, friendly

Staff was so friendly and welcoming! Everything was very clean & nice.

Nice property sitting right on the river walk, and about a 10 minute walk from the Alamo. This made the location perfect for our trip as these are the two most popular places to see in San Antonio. Lot’s of nearby shopping, restaurants, and museums, and the canal tour by boat was awesome. Our suite was very nice, and clean, and the beds were comfortable after traveling 12 hours. Although we didn’t use the gym it was neat and looked nice. The laundry facilities on this property need some attention as the washer didn’t spin very well, and the dryer never got hot, it got warm but never hot so six dollars latter I gave up.

Sheets and room was disgusting. Hair in beds, food and filth everywhere. Most staff were not friendly. Charged me for parking when parking was supposed to be included in stay. I had to clean the room myself, asked staff to change sheets and vacuum and they still did not.

Loved everything about this hotel!! The only tiny complaint is that the breakfast could use some variety from day to day and could go past 9:30.

Cleaning all time

We had an amazing stay. Breakfast was delicious. The staff and manager was extremely helpful. The parking is a little pricey. If you go around the corner, you’ll see a five dollar parking all day.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They had a variety of breakfast options. It was very clean. The Riverwalk was a walking distance. And it was quiet.

I like, it is clean & river walk is on the back of the hotel, but I didn't like paying for parking the car in the fence of hotel (extra pay).

Everything was excellent. The front desk staff was very friendly every day and very helpful.

The bed was good. Had difficulty controlling my room temperature. Breakfast was simple .

Great hotel not too far from the River walk. Breakfast was good! The pool could be better but we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel so can’t really complain!

Breakfast time was to short and didn’t give us time to go shown to eat 7 to 9:30 is not enough time for family of 5 to get ready after a long trip. Others hotels are 6 to 11 am . We were not aware of the breakfast time and we missed it .

The property was clean and the was nice and helpful.

River walk

Location was great and was right on the Riverwalk. We had our dog and it was great for walks with her. The staff was great and super helpful. The cleaning staff was always accommodating. The only thing that would have been helpful to know is that there was $25/night parking fee. There could have been more variety for breakfast was well. Overall though, we enjoyed the hotel!

Excellent rooms & location.

Our stay was good, no issues. The hotel was clean and breakfast had a decent variety. Our only concern was the walk back to the hotel at night. We walked back along the river, but it was way too dark and didn't seem safe for an all-female group. Just something to consider if you were thinking of walking from the riverwalk area, especially since it is quite far from the main touristy section.

The setting was lovely, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The parking was well suited for my family and the free buffet breakfast was delicious!

No bell hop to assist with luggage my kid was in a wheelchair with a sprained ankle. No one offered assistance Three different parking lot gate keys did not work very frustrating. Definitely not coming back there. Will not recommend

Rooms r huge. So much space to put luggage, hang up wet towels, bathing suits, etc. Also free breakfast was FULL breakfast. Will 100% stay there again.

Coming from California, which has seen many droughts, to be told to leave the water running for 5-10 minutes to get hot water is unacceptable. if that really is the case, try to also inform us that you are using the bath water as "green" water, using it to water plants or something. do not tell us that "thats just the way it is"

My family and I were there for Shakira’s concert for the Fourth of July weekend. This Hyatt was very convenient super clean and friendly staff 8 minutes away from the Alamodome.

The front desk was super helpful. They accommodated our early check in. We were in town for a baseball game that started at the time we were supposed to check in. We even received a call to ask how our stay was going. Everyone was so friendly. Will now make this my go to when in town. Thank you!

Kind staff, clean and good breakfast. Very expensive when purchasing water and food onsite as many hotels do. Would of love for the staff to alert us the key to the room opens the parking gate vs having to pay with credit card when rushing out for dinner.

This hotel had incredibly clean rooms. They smelled impeccable! They only have one washer and dryer for the entire hotel and there was a line of people who needed to wash and dry. There is a rude man who was at the breakfast bar when it was closing telling who can and can’t get breakfast. Other than that this was a really nice hotel. I would stay again.

Its location is horrible, there is nothing to do or eat within walking distance. Its on the riverwalk but its a 15 minute walk to the main area of riverwalk.

Last minute stay after flight cancelations, very accommodating and helpful staff. Wish I had stayed there for the whole trip

Definitely walkable to the river walk, Alamo, shopping and dining, but expect a minimum 15 minute walk. The area around the hotel may be a little sketchy at night for someone not used to a larger city. This is due to a lack of lighting in the surrounding areas leading up to the hotel. Other than that, the hotel is great! Very clean, spacious rooms, recently renovated, and super quiet.
