Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the hotel's proximity to local attractions and the kindness of the staff. However, parking issues and cleanliness concerns are frequently mentioned.
- Convenient location near tourist attractions
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Limited and expensive parking
- Cleanliness issues in rooms and common areas

Staff were helpful. The breakfast was good and plenty of options. The rooms were spacious and clean. No parking on site though. It’s around the corner. Which for us it was no big deal.
- 5/5
It was a great hotel, very clean and close to everything we did around the downtown area
- 1/5
The rooms were very very old they smell like mold. I have a seven-year-old daughter with asthma. I sent him a message and then I never got a reply back. I also have a six month old baby that the rooms were so sold those those rooms are the beds were so old and dirty. The showers were with mode black mode and the ACs was not working. I had it on 70 and the temperature showed that it was 75. I do not recommend this hotel at all unless that’s you’re like last option but it’s horrible never again.

Breakfast was great Didn't like that parking was around the corner they should put a key gate closer to not have to walk all around
- 3/5
Hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We only there for one night. The hotel is not very handicap friendly, there is a ramp on the side of the building but on date we were leaving there was a truck there blocking the driveway and you could not use the ramp. That was my biggest negative on this hotel.

I recently booked a stay with Holiday Inn express in San Antonio Texas. We had the worst experience with them. First the room was filthy, dirty and smells bad. We woke up for breakfast which closes at 9:30am. My husband was at the dining room at 9:25 fixing his coffee before getting his food. By the time he got to the food, the rudest lady working there took away all the food trays to the kitchen without letting him get his food. She noticed and ignored him. She should not be working in a hospitality business where she can ruin people’s vacation experience. Please take a look at this incident as we complained to the front desk and they witnessed the whole incident.

The keys would not work...had to go to the lobby

The staff was nice and courteous. Answered any questions I had Parking is separate from the hotel and you don’t know that unless you call.

I wasn’t aware it was a remodeled prison, but it was nice.

Everything was fine.

Clean room. The room was too small, and the elevator broke down. Me and my family had to go up and down 5 flights of stairs. The front desk girl was terrible. She was too busy on her phone to care. She did give us a room on the first floor but that room smelled very bad.
- 3/5
Everything was good except the elevator not working. We were on the top floor (5th floor) and the elevator quit. With my health I’m not able to even make it up one flight of stairs . My husband’s health isn’t to much better and he had to make 3 trips up and down stairs the stairs moving our things. Staff did put us in a room on first floor but only discounted my stay by giving free parking which came out to about 65$.
- 4/5
Small property,a little run down and parking is around the corner, you have to walk, breakfast is great and better than bigger hotels, staff very friendly and helpful. :)

- 2/5
The hotel had no parking on site. Almost everything on the breakfast was broken. Pool was closed indefinitely. One of our rooms had a moldy wet carpet. We did not want the room and they refused to refund.
- 1/5
The pool wasn’t open, the pancake machine wasn’t working and it wasn’t easy to get in and out of.
- 2/5
Hello, before booking this hotel there are a few things you should know. The location is not ideal, though still acceptable. The beds and towels are comfortable and clean, but the rest of the hotel is dirty. The breakfast is very poor and of terrible quality. The pool is listed as closed for maintenance, but honestly it looks like it has been out of use for a long time. These are points that should be clearly disclosed to guests. Frankly, for the level of service provided, the prices are too high. It is truly disappointing to see a Holiday Inn in these conditions offering such poor service.
- 2/5
Only location was convenient Pool wasn’t open, we were traveling with kids and so that’s what we look for… we asked for a refund so we could stay at other hotel with pool and they said can’t be done. kitchen area when went was dirty, toilet flushed sometimes then other times we had to add water to tank to flush, and they charged 20. For valet parking but we had to go park car ourselves, they just gave us an employee badge so that we could get into parking lot and out for no fee and return the badge after. I am disappointed cause I’ve always used booking and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed and very inconvenient but we’re rude as well

Stay was excellent, overall. Breakfast was a great variety. Coffee is really good and served 24/7. Staff is extremely accommodating. Everything wias always stocked. Room was nice and quiet. The pool was not open for Memorial Weekend. Construction on the street of the hotel. Price was very reasonable for what we needed for a quick, memorable weekend.
- 5/5
Our 3 night stay was great! The staff was courteous. The breakfast was above average with coffee available at all times. Convenient walking distant to San Fernando Cathedral, Market, river walk, would stay again.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
This hotel is not wheelchair friendly!!!! It has one steep narrow ramp on the side of the building down a narrow alley that is located towards the back of the hotel. If you don’t reserve a handicap parking you won’t get one. My poor mom is in a wheelchair and had the hardest time getting around. She ended up just staying in the room the whole weekend. Parking is horrible you have to get a key card to park a block away then return it to the front desk. Every time you move your vehicle the key card must be returned to the front desk. You have been warned!!!
- 1/5
Parking is super confusing, there is a lot that doesn't look connected to the hotel itself where parking is accepted but a pain in the butt to transport luggage along the city street. Could use better signage around the property or clearer instructions when booking. Going in and out is not really an option here because parking is so inconvenient.

I am updating this review because, after weeks of attempting to follow up — multiple phone calls, emails, and leaving my phone number directly with the property — I have received absolutely no response. The staff on the morning of checkout were unhelpful and rude. This hotel has shown it has no intention of taking responsibility. Here is what happened: We checked into a room with an overwhelming urine odor. When I bent down near the bed, the smell was so intense it was unmistakable — the mattress was heavily saturated with urine. My two small children and I had already been on that bed. The room also had hair ties on the floor from a previous guest, a visible water stain in the toilet, and clear evidence it had not been properly cleaned. We were moved to a new room and offered 2,000 IHG points — roughly $10 — as compensation. We lost hours of our Mother's Day repacking and showering everyone down. We missed our Riverwalk dinner reservation. There was no sightseeing. I was up every hour through the night sick. The staff who handled the room swap were polite — I want to be fair about that. But politeness doesn't excuse putting a family with small children in a biohazard room, and silence doesn't make it go away. I have escalated to IHG corporate. Families traveling with children: inspect your room thoroughly before settling in, and think twice about this property.
- 5/5
Helpful staff, clean and within walking distance to historic San Antonio.
- 5/5
The breakfast was hot and filling! They had omelets, even egg white omelettes one of the mornings and while they dont have these Texas Waffles anymore, they do have pancakes & real honey! and they also have bagels & cream cheese :) The rooms were clean and smelled fresh! The water coming from the tap did initially smell mouldy but after leaving hot water on for a minute, it dissipated. Just a 10 minute stroll down the area to the riveewalk or a 7$ lyft ride back.
- 3/5
The property has no on-site parking unless you are a diamond member, you have to pat $20 to park in a parking lot around the corner that you have to walk to
- 3/5
Once we entered the room there was a moldy / musty smell. Asked for a different room but they only had one left right beside the elevator and that room smelled even worse. Hotel needs some renovation. All in all it was manageable for just one night.
- 4/5
Clean room but small. Read the fine print as parking is around the corner at $20 per night. Breakfast good but limited. Best Western is better.
- 1/5
The room was just OK but the bathroom was filthy. I had to clean the toilet myself. We didn’t eat breakfast there, but unfortunately I won’t be staying at this property again.
- 5/5
I really don't have anything bad to say except for one thing the elevator, Hotel only has one elevator and SUPER SLOW. The best way to get to the lobby or your room really fast is by taking the stairs.

It was a place to sleep. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk was sitting at the lobby. She told us there were no rooms available and we'd have to wait. She walked around and did some other things. A new desk person came up right as another guest showed up and she checked them in right away. So I got up and asked her if we could check in, which she did with no problem. The first girl comes back out and tells her bye. So apparently, she was about to have a shift change and didn't want to help us. Parking is also ridiculous. I understand the location, and can be okay with that, but they also allow some guests to park right at front blocking all available spots instead of just using one. Forcing us to drag our luggage all the way around the block to our car.

Staff was courteous. Room was nice for the value. Breakfast was warm as advertised. Parking was a nightmare! Had to pay for parking that wasn't on the property & had to "borrow" a fob from the desk to come & go from the lot. Property was within walking distance of the Riverwalk/Alamo/dining. Wouldn't recommend this property with so many other options in the area.

The 1st front desk clerk was struggling to use the new system. We were given a dirty room. The next room had mold in the shower and the carpet had a mild odor. While the cleaning crew was polite, they did not speak English. Which made hard to explain what you needed done. Every day we had to have our keys reactivated. Several of the front desk clerks were unprofessional and tones were rude and or condescending. I asked for a bottle of water and was told it's for the paying customers. Like I didn't pay to stay there. I will NEVER use Holiday Inn Express again. Nor will I refer anyone else to this horrible hotel,.

Location Hello, I’m writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with our recent stay. First, there was an issue with our reservation when I canceled a room, which unexpectedly removed a night from my sister’s booking. This caused her and her family to cut their stay short. We spent a significant amount of time trying to resolve this, only to get nowhere. The booking agent claimed he called the hotel 10 times, but in reality, it was closer to 4–5 attempts, and he repeatedly hung up rather than staying on hold. He even stated he was unwilling to remain on hold to resolve the issue. Additionally, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, the agent hung up on me. This level of customer service was extremely unprofessional and added to an already frustrating situation. The condition of our room was unacceptable. The air conditioning unit was leaking directly onto the bed and the floor, soaking both. Even more concerning, the thermostat located beneath the leak sparked when I attempted to adjust it in the middle of the night, creating a serious safety hazard. I have video evidence of this incident. Because of this, we had to fit one adult and four children onto a single queen-sized bed while I slept on the floor just so the kids could be comfortable. Although the front office eventually offered to move us to another room, this was not provided until the day we were scheduled to check out, making it an ineffective solution after we had already endured the issue overnight. In addition, the towels provided in the room had a strong cigarette odor, which added to the overall unsanitary experience. When I brought these issues to the office, I was told they could not offer any form of discount or resolution because I booked through a third party. That response was disappointing and did not reflect accountability for the condition of the room or the experience we had.

After reading reviews, I was skeptical. However, parking was not an issue. Yes, you park behind the building, but there are sidewalks that are lighted. We saw very few unhoused people. Location is perfect. Walking distance to many restaurants and stores. Everything worked and was clean. Staff was very friendly. Will stay here again.
- 2/5
Clean room. Only thing toilet was not standard size! I’m short and it was still too low for my height!!! Ac needs updating!!! Staff was very nice! breakfast ok bananas were not fresh! The worst part is having to get a Parking tag to go in and out!!! Needs better parking situation! Unfortunately we will not stay at this location again!!!!
- 4/5
Room was clean but I will say that I was wanting better lighting. it was all ambient and lovely - but dang hard to put on makeup. My other hurdle was the parking situation. it's around the corner and to save some money you pay the hotel (as opposed at the lot gate) and use the hotel badge - borrowing it to get it (returning it immediately) and borrowing again to leave returning it immediately that means driving around the block because of the one way street - it's something you should be aware of
- 3/5
Hair around in bathroom. Motel style ac in room. Bare minimum breakfast. It has devolved from Holiday Inn service to a typical Shyam property.

- 1/5
First of all.. beware of the $20 a night for parking plus tax. Parking was extremely limited and only one handicap space. Small pool size of a 4 door sedan. It doesn’t have a gum and breakfast was limited. Only one elevator. The building used to be an old county jail. Staff did their jobs. It’s not the normal Holiday Inn Express experience.

Parking is not free, they charge $20/day. Breakfast is good. Room is clean. It takes about 10-15 minutes walk to River Walk.
- 2/5
When we arrived we were given a room on the first floor that had a defective door—light streamed in from outside. I immediately went back to get it changed and there was no one at the desk or in the office. The next morning I saw a dead roach on the floor. We were able to move the next day and everything was fine but when we were trying to check out around 8:30 am, there was again no staff. We had to wait to check out to return a physical parking pass. I waited about 10 minutes for someone to return.

Stayed for a mini vacation to get away from DFW for a few nights. We got a huge corner room on the fifth floor. We took advantage of the pool, it was nice and clean. My husband took advantage of the breakfast buffet and was very happy with it. The coffee machines are a super nice touch. The hotel was packed but the gentleman checking us in was polite and explained everything we needed to know and had us checked-in in 5 minutes. This is an old build that was remodeled into a hotel. We were startled on our first night when we realized the hotel is on local ghost tours. No ghostly events happen.
- 5/5
The hotel is in a historic building so the outside is older and the rooms were smaller; however, the comfort and service were as good as it gets. Ivette at the front desk allowed us to check in early, and we were grateful because we had a very early flight. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. One of the best aspects was the daily breakfast - cheesy omelets, biscuits and gravy, freshly ground and brewed coffee. The location was about 5 blocks to the riverwalk, two blocks from the historic Mexican market and one block from the Spanish governor's palace. I found this hotel to be a great value.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. Many things were not working. 1st when we got here the AC in the room wasn't working so they changed our room, ok that was fine but the elevator is at the very back of the building and our room was at the very front, ok that was fine. Why they don't have another elevator or wld have at least built the elevator in the middle 🤔. 2nd u pay $20 dollars a day for parking and they let u borrow the badge to get in and out but u have to bring it back immediately, talk about inconvenient. 3rd after swimming we wanted to wash & dry our bathing suits, dryer was not working. 4th I wanted ice for our drinks, couldn't find the ice machine on our floor, went downstairs to ask front desk she said it was on 2nd floor, ok get there....u guessed it, broken. She could have at least told me and saved me a trip..And to top it all off in the morning for breakfast we didn't get a hot breakfast bc supposedly the ovens were broken....come on, really? Never staying here again. The only thing good about this place was location.
- 4/5
We came in earlier than expected on Thursday and the front desk girl was amazing! She allowed for a 1230pm check out on Saturday for us and had coffee and breakfast on a Friday morning. Saturday morning a completely different situation. We can down at 845am and no hot breakfast. All she would say is they’ll have hot breakfast tomorrow. I book hotels based on whether they offer breakfast or not. She wouldn’t explain. There were quite a few people really upset due to no breakfast. We were told 730-10am. Quite disappointing since our day was planned around eating before we left hotel.

Reception guy was poor energy. Parking is terrible since its behind the hotel and no easy acces but have to go around the street. It was raining. The key the guy gave us to park was not working. We had to pay twice. Than the ac was not working well. The room was hot.

The staff were great. The breakfast was busy, space is small but food was very good. Areas of the hotel were not tidy eg. utility room, door was left open all weekend and room was messy. The back entrance you had to walk through a garbage area. Felt like it should not be for guests but it was an entrance way.

You have to pay for parking and that is no where advertised. They charge more through the hotel than the actual parking lot. They charge 20.00 a day and it’s 10.00 at the garage. The kitchen is very small and they did not have hot food ready at 7am

The room was good the only problem was the shower kept dripping and housekeeping only clean my room one time out of the three days I was there and if you get a room here there is no parking we had to park down the street at a parking lot and the hotel charged us 20 bucks a day to use their parking

Parking lot is around the block in the back. Not $20 a Night value. The loading was blocked out luggage as we arrived. Parking was almost non existent. If you had any dissability this is not for you. The claim on river is not so much. It is on a section of river, not on the area of intersest. Parking is not gated, it has lift gates and wide open. The luggage carts are small and almost usless. The cook was reachinh in oven to turn the omelets over by hand instead of using gloves. Felt it was a good hotel, definitely not the price value.

The room wasn't in great condition. The walls and ceilings are peeling. We stayed on the first floor. I peaked into a second floor room and the condition was much better. The room however was clean. The bathroom was not clean.there was mold in the corner, broken tiles around the baseboards and the shower stunk of mildew because of a dirty shower curtain. There's no vent in the bathroom so moisture can't escape. I know it's a historic building but there's no excuse for dirtiness.

The breakfast was terrible. The omelette went into trash after one bite. Also, the heat(thermostat) in room did not work. Be prepared to pay $21 plus parking fee that is not onsite. Will not stay here again.

A/C was not working properly and felt hot throughout the night. Also parking is not convenient, had to park my own car a block and half in a parking garage. Would’ve been nice to have valet service since we get charged for parking.

It was close to the riverwalk and historic market square. Loved the history on the hotel also! The ac wasn't working as well as it should.

I understand that I booked a hotel that cost less than most in the area so I did not expect a glamorous hotel. However, it seems like there were a few things that could be done to give a better impression. Very cluttered check-in area. Room looks like it needs a deep cleaning. Staff was pleasant which helped this day. Food was typical for this level of hotel.

yes
- 3/5
The room and staff were great. I didn’t particularly like the parking situation and the access to the hotel was on a narrow one way street that wasn’t well lighted. Thats why the site lost a star.
- 2/5
Alarm clock went off at 6am with loud music. It was hard to turn off and couldn’t be unplugged. Tv had no signal message. Called desk and mgr came up. He messed with the clock, but couldn’t turn off the alarm setting, but said he turned the volume off- the buzzer went off the next must 6anywsy. He said wire off tv and he’d get maintenance, but no one came.

The staff on Saturday evening could’ve been nicer the morning staff on Sunday was good but the evening service was bad. Had to wait on breakfast on Monday morning because they ran out overall it was OK but it could be better.
- 4/5
Hotel is kind of old but clean
- 5/5
We arived a little early, but were still able to check in. Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean.
- 5/5
Good location. It’s not far from river walk area Very secured area and clean
- 3/5
Unfortunately, the hotel does not meet ADA accessibility needs. The front entrance consists solely of steps with no ramp, and there is no on-site parking. Parking is located around the block, which presents additional challenges for guests with mobility limitations.
- 3.5/5
the only complaint I have is the parking is in the back and you have to get the parking pass to go in and out of the parking lot.
- 3/5
You have to walk around the block to get to the parking. Not only you have to walk around the block, but they charge for that inconvenient parking.
- 3.5/5
It was pretty close to the Alamo and the riverwalk. Which we took the via link to get to each time. The bathroom sink faucet was loose and the hall smelled like mildew. Our room didn't smell like mildew though, which was a plus. The pool was dirty and had leave in it. I took it upon myself to clean the leaves out with skimmer they had.
- 3/5
No on property parking
- 4/5
It was very clean, good price and the location was conveniently close to the river walk. Nice staff!
- 3/5
the room was good, but we had trouble adjusting the A/C- it stayed at 65 F all night and we did not sleep well. The breakfast was great. Parking was around the corner and was an extra fee. The stay was fine.
- 5/5
The room was cozy, comfortable and the hotel staff was pleasant.
- 1/5
no parking on site , worst break fast

Other than that, the hotel is very clean, very well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. The only area that really needs improvement is the breakfast service.
- 5/5

The staff is not friendly nor helpful, upon arrival or departure the front desk was sitting in the breakfast area. The facility is quite small the room was very tight and need a lot of attention on cleanliness, it has a bad smell oder. I like the refrigerator, coffee maker the Dove shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and conditioner. But we need water bottles in the room.

Yes ac working clean safe quiet
- 5/5
Awesome breakfast!
- 2/5
Room was dirty- the carpet corners, safe did not work, the bolt of the door dis mot work. Breakfast had only yogurt with artificial sweeteners and no natural or sugar option. Personnel did not have a customer satisfaction centric attitude

No water in the water dispenser, no towels, and no anti bacterial in the dispenser in the gym. The hotel smells bad and not well kept. It’s terrible!

Clean and great location to downtown.
- 5/5
Clean room and staff was super nice
- 5/5
The front staff was really nice and helpful at checkin. We liked that we were able to park our car for a small fee right beside the hotel (not always possible near the Riverwalk in San Antonio.) Also, it was an easy walk to restaurants on the Riverwalk and to the Majestic Theatre
- 5/5
One of the best experiences I've had in a hotel in a long time!
- 5/5
Very nice and close to everything
- 1/5
The room was not kept up with. First room AC was broken, it was a challenge to get another room with working AC. Once given a new room with a working AC the room was neglected. Dirty floors and not so sure the sheets were changed out also had to kill a roach in our room. Completely dissatisfied with the hotel and service.
- 5/5
the staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the people at the front desk, thank you for everything!!

This was easily one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been in. About three weeks ago, I called their corporate office asking for a later check out because I was here to run the San Antonio Half. I was told that I could get one if I had a IHG Rewards number and to tell the front desk that I’d spoken to Ramona about it. Well, when I get to the hotel, I was told they don’t do that…despite I had an exact date AND time that I had asked about this. The best they could do was a noon checkout. It was really lousy that they didn’t honor my request that was approved higher up even with all the relevant information. Additionally, there was NO WARNING that there was an extra charge for parking. To make matters worse, you had to use badges they provided to badge in AND OUT of this parking area. They only have a certain number of badges. I even had to get a badge after checking out of the hotel, which wasted an extra 15 minutes to get the badge back to them because of all the construction that was around there. Finally, the rooms were very old and outdated and the showers drained very poorly, making trying to shower a very lousy and not-so-cleanly experience. The only thing good about this hotel is that it’s walkable to everything. But I will never stay at this hotel again and I hope others will heed this warning before staying here.

- 5/5
Very nice, clean, comfortable bed, good towels. Parking is off site but close. Kinda a far walk from attractions for out of shape ppl.

- 4/5
Room was very nice. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
😊
- 4/5
We had an accessible room which was quite spacious. This hotel is on the historical registry and was a former jail. The staff was nice and breakfast had a good variety. Parking was at a lot around the corner. They had limited spots on site and they were for diamond elite members.
- 4/5
Great
- 5/5
Great! Clean rooms. Great service. Yummy breakfast. Heard some strange noises through out the night though that kept waking me up and freaking me out. Even shined my flashlight in the corner where I would hear a weird clanking noise every now and then. Found out later that this hotel was haunted having been a former prison where they executed prisoners😳! So I was a tad disappointed I didn't get the demon discount or a free exorcism with our stay😆. Otherwise, great place!
- 5/5
Big clean rooms, comfy beds, very close to downtown and restaurants/Christmas lights.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Ok
- 3/5
Had to park around the corner from the building Their
- 3/5
TINY room. Bathroom was terrible also tiny.
- 1/5
Don't stay at this hotel I was multiple different things that went wrong and getting into a room where they had ants all over, also the parking spot that you pay for $20 a day is very inconvenient even though they trying to make it sound like oh it's so good because it's right on the side of the building. You can't even park into the spaces correctly. Also there were guest arguing and fighting and the middle of the night until the early a.m. in the morning I reported it the lady at the desk spoke with them and asked them to lower the voice and stop what they was doing but I think they should have been escorted off the property cuz they were clearly drunk and using profanity and banging on the walls and knocking on on doors waking people up. The rooms wasn't clean adically I had to back clean the room myself
- 4/5
Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast ended early on our second day, so we did not get to take advantage. Walkable to all of downtown, comfortable room.
- 5/5
Everything was well thought out and planned. Breakfast had a great variety.

Breakfast was good and employee were nice.
- 5/5
They were super friendly and upgraded our room for our Honeymoon! The hotel was clean and the breakfast was awesome! We loved the location (walking distance to the 711) ! Can’t wait to go back and stay again! It was perfect!
- 4/5
Poca limpieza en habitación.
- 4/5
Very good coffee! Breakfast rather basic, no fresh fruit or vegetables. Breakfast area kind of small and tables could need a cleaning in between. Parking should be free for hotel guests.
- 4/5
Yes, the breakfast was very good. Excellent staff.

Good room cut short by one day due to my wife taking a fall in the Holiday Parking lot due to uneven entrance levels. Passers=by assisted getting her to emergency care for a leg brace. We checked out with one full day not used but paid for. A rebate would be appreciated from Expedia.
- 4/5
Clean room, good breakfast, unbelievably BAD Wifi
- 5/5
Clean room, good location
- 5/5
great hotel. make sure you book the correct room and dont go just with standard room
- 5/5
Yes!!
- 5/5
It is good have to pay $25 for parking
- 2/5
Room was dirty when we arrived. Multiple hairs in the bathroom and one of the beds. The bottom of the bathtub is dirty. One of the electrical outlets didn’t work and multiple other electrical outlets were so worn out they wouldn’t hold a charging block in them. The AC vent had an excessive amount of dust hanging from it. Informed the lady at check in. There was no sense of urgency to clean the room and we ended up cleaning the ac vent off.
- 2/5
Garage is not in the hotel premises, it’s behind the hotel with no connection to it. Upon arrival, front desk
- 4/5
Not clean under beds pretty icky and no tissue even when asked.
- 5/5
Breakfast was excellent. Good service
- 5/5
Rooms a bit smaller than other typical hotels but still comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Would stay again because of the location and comfort.
- 2/5
Very small place the reception was tiny and the rooms no space to walk around and the windows very high and small there is also humid smell in the room
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
Large room great location amazing breakfast
- 4/5
Not having to worry about breakfast was great! Room was fine. Regular hotel room nothing amazing about it but got the job done. Staff was nice.
- 2.5/5
The location was close to the event we were there for! Parking, Burglar Bars on the window ?, Horrid Handicap Acccess
- 1/5
Staff support lacking she didn’t even know how to retrieve booking form Expedia and top of that she blamed me for booking on Expedia saying it won’t show the payment details
- 5/5
The beds were very comfortable the breakfast was delicious. The parking was the only bad thing but overall it was great.
- 3/5
The parking situation a little complicated. Having to get the key for garage, walk to get your car and having to come back to return the key - before we you can go with your day.
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Also i enjoyed the breakfast omelets a d coffe. The lady attending to breakfast was very nicrand helpful.
- 4/5
Good breakfast need bit more options like bacon and simple scramble eggs free shuttles would be nice .
- 5/5
Staff is always so nice!
- 4/5
Room was good. Parking was terrible. Paid a daily rate to park my car in a parking lot around the corner. Had to walk on a really narrow street, by a really smelly dumpster, through the homeless population to get to the lot. Yes the lot was directly behind the building but to get to it you have to walk about a block and a half to get there. Paying for parking after paying for a room is ridiculous, much less a parking lot thats a block and a half away.
- 5/5
We just had the best experience. Easy to get around. The room was great. The breakfast was very good. Just the best of time

The carpet was not cleaned either.
- 4/5
Close to Riverwalk walkable 5 min
- 5/5
Nice San Antonio Charm
- 2/5
Old historic building, that's rich in history. Too bad the staff wasn't familiar. Close to riverwalk, but not on it. Shopping near by. Rated as 3 star, but it's really a 2. Gnats in the bathroom. Stains on pillows and sheets. Parking is off-site. Garage key stop working and was stuck in the parking lot. Had to walk a block to get a new one and walk a block back to my car.
- 2/5
First room we were put in, ac was not working. They moved us to a different room and room was not cooling either. Only could feel the air because it was blowing straight on the bed. We left for more than a couple hours snd arrived back to the room being at 78 degrees with ac full blast. We ended up leaving that same night, felt like my truck would be a lot cooler for my kid. Nothing was done by the front desk.
- 4/5
It's a small hotel, and staff members are very friendly, however, we had a problem on room key and we had to go back and forth to the front couple of times. But there is a nice bar around the corner.
- 4/5
Breakfast and staff services good. Parking lot is bad.
- 5/5
Great location. Perfect to walk to Riverwalk.
- 3/5
Parking área is bad, not enough space, my car was crashed
- 3/5
Average but good price for the area.
- 4/5
The staff is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious. It was clean upon arrival. Requested maid service after 2nd day. She came, but only changed the towels out. The bathroom floor wasn’t mopped, so footprints were there the entire time. The other issue was with the toilet. Has an unpleasant looking stain in the bottom. Maintenance should replace it.
- 4/5
Everything was great! The only thing that was inconvenient was having to walk up the stairs to get to the entrance with suitcases and coolers. They should probably have a wheel chair ramp it would be alot more convenient.
- 5/5
Large homeless population
- 3/5
On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. The women working at the hotel were wonderful and very helpful, but unfortunately the men were not nearly as friendly. Overall, aside from the bed and the kindness of a few staff members, I would not choose to stay here again.
- 1/5
Bed bugs in my room. Staff did absolutely nothing about except try to wipe them off with a rag. Horrible service and hotel.
- 5/5
What a cool place! I love the historical aspect. The entrance itself was gorgeous. I like that it was quietly tucked away from all the hustle and bustle yet steps away from any and everything you could need. I would stay here again 100%.
- 5/5
The property is so conveniently located in downtown San Antonio. There's a lot of foot traffic in the area so you feel safe walking to different areas and attractions. The staff was soooo friendly. The only thing I'd say needed improvement is that they should have fresh oatmeal instead of packets; but I'm just picky about that. The hot breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Great location and super friendly staff.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service, great location for price.
- 3/5
Location was great not far from the riverwalk. Only downside was parking. Having to pay extra to park on the side of the building or still having to pay and then parking about a block away was my only issue.
- 5/5
Room was great. Centrally located to the Riverwalk area.
- 5/5
The breakfast was fantastic and the attendant Lucy was very friendly and extremely helpful.
- 5/5
I loved everything, gym could be better but there's a gym about 5 miles away that catered to me
- 5/5
Breakfast was included and was great ! The staff is nice and rolls were very clean . Location in a great area the only downside is the parking . You do have to walk half a block around hotel to park .
- 5/5
i love the IHG Elite parking ! when you’re not there they put a cone in your spot so no one parks there ! very nice !
- 1/5
- 3/5
The name of this property would indicate it is near the riverwalk. Technically it is. However, it is not the part you would expect. Its just tbe "park" portion. The main walk is about a mile away. The staff seems to watch you like a hawk. There is not onsite parking its a block away. The bathrooms have little couter space. One side of the bed is shoved against the wall and has no night stand. Only two USB charging ports. There is not much in the immediate vicinity for dining or shops. Everything is about a half mile walk.
- 5/5
Loved everything about this property! It is not easy to get to, but it’s definitely worth being downtown and seeing all the shops and all the different things like that. The only complaint I would have is that the lighting is a little dark in the room and The housekeeping could drop off towels every day whether we’re there or not.
- 5/5
All good 👍
- 5/5
Affordable and convenient
- 4/5
Excellent option for area. Good clean room.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and super helpful. I liked the style of the historic building. Pool was really small.
- 3/5
Parking was terrible
- 4/5
Great service with the exception of the breakfast nook. I needed to leave and waa only 3 minutes early, and all i wanted was a yogurt, but the lady wouldnt unlock the fridge.
- 4/5
It was the first hotel I have stayed in that parking was in a separate lot next door and had to pay fees for.
- 5/5
All excelent
- 5/5
Walking distance to river walk and cathedral! Parking is easy access! Friend staff. Will book again next time in San Antonio
- 1/5
Paid for a room for one night only. Went to check in and they wanted to charge 250 as the incident fee due to me just being a local and not a tourist. I did not end up staying and just walked out.
- 2/5
Our parking spot got taken twice, even through we paid for it. Parts of the room were visibly damaged when we first checked in.
- 4/5
I hated the fact where you park at is behind the building and there isn’t a way to get to the hotel. You have to walk around the building from parking. The shower head didn’t move and it was clogged with hard water
- 1/5
If wasn't the property it was the man who checked Us in on September 2 2025 at 930pm . The man had an attitude and argued with us about the size of bed ,we asked for a king and he gave us 2 double and my husband is 6ft 5 in and can not fix in a double. He told us we could not park in the handicap parking ( with a handicap sticker)because if someone else came we would have to move He was very rude
- 5/5
It was a cool place to stay at, especially that it used to be a jail.
- 4/5
This hotel is nice, staff is helpful and it’s clean. There are a lot of homeless people in the area but the hotel requires a key to get in after dark so it is fairly safe.
- 1/5
Found 2 cockroaches in our room the room wa also dirty and while walking back to the hotel we discovered a giant puddle of blood and multiple splatters with a trail of blood
- 4/5
At middle at night aroung 1 or 2 AM Someone knock our door room really harsh and run away
- 4/5
N/A
- 1/5
DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT AROUND THE CORNER OF THE HOTEL, UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CAR STOLEN. AND NO HELP TO LOCATE IT WITH NO SURVEILLANCE!! SHOULD NOT RECOMMEND GUEST TO PARK SOMEWHERE UNSAFE AND NO SURVEILLANCE!!!
- 5/5
Another one night stay staff as before excellent as is location and breakfast room very large and comfortable
- 4/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Loved my stay at the Holiday Inn Express San Antonio N-Riverwalk Area. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the River Walk, Market Square, and the Alamo. The historic building adds charm, and our room was spotless and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the free breakfast was fresh with plenty of options. Parking is a bit pricey, but the convenience made it worth it. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
This is a 2-star hotel, so arrive with 2-star expectations—and you may end up with a 5-star experience. The rooms are basic but very clean, with daily housekeeping. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and committed to providing excellent customer service to meet your needs. Breakfast was plentiful, and the price was about half of what I would pay just a block away. The rooms were quiet, with thick walls that block out noise from neighboring rooms. All major sights are within walking distance. I would gladly stay here again

Building is old and no friendly parking to register, Had to park on other property to go inside n register. Once car was unpacked we walked with small children at night a block away back to the bldg, rooms were okay but not what I expected from Holiday Inn.
- 1/5
The place is very old. Bare minimum. Rooms are very small. It has an old smell. We had to go to the reception desk to ask for clean towels. The reception desk is manned by one person and it takes forever to check in or ask for items. It is a historic building, but even the windows are dirty. You pay $25 to park around the street.
- 3/5
Only one elevator for 5 floors. Dining room for Breakfast very small, select of food items very limited. Pool on back side of building and very small pool. Parking is away from hotel. The building was an old jail made into a hotel. We will not stay there again.
- 3/5
Didn’t eat
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
No parking, pool is the size of a hot tub, homeless camped out across the street, unsafe part of downtown.
- 5/5
Staff wasn't to friendly upon arrival. got a bit of attitude from the lady at the desk. You have to ring the button and i did no answer, shes just looking at me through the door. I then proceed to knock she lets out a noticeable sign while rolling her eyes. Other than that the room its self was a great size, house keeping was friendly as well. didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but glad they have that option. I would stay here again
- 5/5
It is paid parking everywhere around downtown. Even at the hotel you have to pay to park. The hotel is in a convenient location and walking distance from all the tourist attractions. Overall was happy.
- 1/5
UPDATE: Expedia(booked through) would not refund me, but a big THANK YOU to PayPal(paid through) for refunding me my money!
- 2/5
Room smells bad. Would not stay again
- 2/5
Front desk and kitchen Staff was not pleasant at all. They were very rude and dismissive.
- 5/5
Great little birthday getaway, perfect location within walking distance to a lot!
- 4/5
The hotel is nice for it's price.
- 3/5
Front desk lady was kinda rude and not friendly, for someone who braged on her phone that shes been there over 8 years i expected a more professional friendly customer service. She made me feel like i was taking her time during check in. No eye contact either. Wont be back
- 5/5
The stay was perfect, really do recommend this hotel
- 1/5
Other than this being the old becar county jail there is nothing good about this property.
- 2/5
Unexpected fees. There were a few roaches. I paid for a parking spot and someone who didn’t have the permit was parked there.
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 4/5
Overall the stay was good. It was comfortable and for the price it was great. Staff was wonderful. Room was small, but quiet and clean. Breakfast was had a surprisingly large selection. My only negative was that the parking was not convenient and it was an add on fee. I was told at the front desk the parking in their lot was $20 or I could park around the corner for $15. We chose closer as I was traveling with a child, and ended up with a $25 charge to my card vs the $20 I was expecting. Otherwise all was well.
- 4/5
I liked the hotel the only negative point is the parking is very inconvenient. Other than that I liked the room very spacey and clean and good buffet breakfast selection
- 1/5
Parking, no clean towels when asked for some.
- 4/5
Have no complaints! Enjoyed our trip and how close everything was! Hotel very nice and staff was great!!!
- 5/5
Great stay. Very safe and walkable in downtown San Antonio.
- 3/5
To check in it took is between checkin and getting our car parked properly at least an hour
- 3/5
There was no parking for guests

- 3/5
I did not like the fact of the hidden parking fee and you had to park your car around the back while getting charged nightly of $15 . We were only able to park for 5 mins in the front to hurry and grab our luggage and move our car. While staying my sister a.c. on the floor ahead of mines completely stopped working and it was very hot. Her money was not adjusted to their negligence. Also, we had to go and ask for more towels bc during the two night stay, housekeeping didn't show up.
- 2/5
The a/c unit wasn't working properly so i let the front desk know immediately they gave me a box fan and said them will be moving me to a different room tomorrow due to no vacancy at the moment. The next night it completely stop working went to the front desk and again no vacancy at the moment And on top of all that it was a surprise parking fee and deposit had no idea i had to pay to park where I was staying😒
- 4/5
The location of the property was great. The one thing that I didn't like was. You have to park around the corner and walk to the hotel. Which is very inconvenient when you have luggage and other heavy belongings and you also have to pay to park daily.
- 3/5
cons: the ac was at 68 but the fan was SLOW. i did try to switch the fan to high but nothing changed. the ac didn’t go any lower than 68. i’d wake up hot. the parking sucked, had to walk around the corner AND pay for the public parking for each day.
- 2/5
From the start this hotel does really have anywhere to park for the check in process. The parking lot wasn't convenient at all. You had to walk up the street half a block then go to the parking lot about half a block. No easy access to parking lot. The attendant was overwhelmed because a few people showed up for chdkc in process. She had one badge to use for the parking lot. It was a nightmare to get out of the small section in front of the hotel to go park the car. Facility was old and dingy. Room was clamy and had an old smell to it. Then the hotel is put on lock down after 930pm. I will breve stay at this hotel again.
- 3/5
Could be more maintained AC are making noice parking charge was not included doesn’t say on like that is extra chg
- 4/5
Good affordable place to sleep for a few days while exploring the area
- 4/5
Good
- 1/5
The staff person on entry was miserable and the check out guy was worse. They must hate their job. When I checked out, I asked where I should leave the card for parking and he was very dismissive and pointed towards the entry area. I tossed it from my car as I drove around to return it after he called and hurrassed me about not finding the card. I went back and got it from outside the entry where it landed. He continues to nag me to show him where I tossed it and called me a lier. I'm not sure who he is but he's ungrateful and rude. Disappointed
- 4/5
The staff are alright not a bad place to stay. The property and rooms are run down. The room smelled a bit off. Overall it was good for a night.
- 1/5
Terriable very unsafe my truck did not fit on small space. We found a white little bag of white poweder on parking lot looks like drugs. Plus we were ask to pay for parking. Very very bad place
- 1/5
The refrigerator had black mold through the inside. We were not able to utilize it. One of the bath tubs was clogged of hair. Our key cards continously kept being deactived. The customer service was terrible, we called the day before and we were told we could com in early because they had plenty of available rooms opened. Well, after 13 hours or driving, the attendant was rude and stated nothing was avaliable to wait and call before areiving again. Definitely dont recommend this place.
- 4/5
Dislike property cleanliness was bad I looked under the beds and there was trash and used sweet & low packages underneath and just dirty! To many homeless in the area and parking was on the other side of hotel. Need to make an entrance on back of building for guests.
- 5/5
Amazing stay! I got a chance to attend the festival.
- 4/5
Sketchy surroundings. Horrible parking. Got there an hour early ….told to come back later. Drink container found on side of bed. Rooms were nice. Breakfast was nice…but very small area.
- 5/5
One thing to note: it would have been helpful to receive a heads-up in advance that the hotel was located along a parade route, as access to the property was completely blocked off during the even
- 5/5
Location ok check in slow, clean, breakfast a bit limited but overall would book again
- 3/5
Not so good, AC wasn’t working well for two nights called up front and couldn’t do nothing for me but to send a fan that never got sent to our room. Parking was behind the building where there was a wall with no entrance to the building, not convenient.
- 4/5
Good service, except they were out of complimentary toothbrush, I forgot to pack one. The room was clean, but only had one small trash can in the restroom. You had to pay for parking, not many spaces available in the front, but there is a public lot behind the building that is also pay. Overall, it was a good stay, breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean and quiet, walking distance from the river walk with many restaurants close by.
- 1/5
bad parking
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 3/5
At night, somebody knocked on our window.
- 3/5
Front desk staff was extremely rude, hotel was clean and convenient walking distance to river walk.
- 4/5
Walking distance from Riverwalk
- 2/5
The hotel was just not like other Holiday Inn Expresses. The rooms felt dirty - there was so much trash under the beds. Just didn't feel as updated or kept as others.
- 4/5
This hotel is close to the River walk, the area is safe, the rooms are clean.
- 5/5
Thank will be back again
- 1/5
The worst experience ever
- 4/5
The parking was 2 blocks away and was not noted on the website. When I booked it otherwise, I would look at somewhere else. There's also a $15 charge per day for parking. That was not noted either.
- 4/5
The signs outside were not clear ex. No check in or lobby directions visible from the road. The lobby was crowded and the front desk was not labeled or well layed out.
- 5/5
Lovely property with relatively cheaper parking fee compared to my others and easy walk to River side.
- 1/5
Worst experience. My disabled wife service dog was not allowed to stay, they were asking questions about my wife, paperwork for our dog. Completely ignorant. Luckily we went to the Element which is way better
- 1/5
We ended up paying $40 dollar for parking, no parking as announced in website. Mold on the bathtub corners
- 4/5
Free breakfast is good. The condition was good. Lots of space in the room. The side parking was a bit small, but there is additional parking behind the hotel which I recommend. Everything was close in walking distance.
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 2/5
Also your key card deactivated automatically after each use. Each time we came back to the room or front door we had to get it fixed. They just said the cards are sensitive, but that’s even having the card in my purse pocket by itself. Huge inconvenience. The pros is it’s in a good area but definitely not worth the money you pay for each night.
- 2/5
Description of room was not accurate. It was clean and great location for river walk but room was extremely small. No pull out sofa bed, that was describe in reservation also stated game console in room that was false as well.
- 5/5
My family had a wonderful stay, enjoying the many amenities the hotel had to offer, such as the free breakfast in the mornings. Room was clean and air conditioner worked very well! Just a few minutes to walk to the River Walk and the Historic Market Place. Competitively priced to all of the other hotels. Wonderful stay!
- 3/5
This hotel is nice enough but some updates and repairs would be appreciated. The front desk and entrance of the hotel was stacked with boxes and stuff that looked very cluttered and was not the best way to be welcomed. The room was fine but smelled very musty upon our arrival. I have no clue what was going on with the sheets but they seemed too small and would not stay on the beds leading to frustrations throughout the nights. Housekeeping did not replace empty toilet paper or tissue boxes over our multiple day stay. Breakfast was good and different selections were available each morning but there was not enough seating for many guests to eat breakfast. Location was good and was in walking distance to the Alamo, Riverwalk and the market square.
- 5/5
Area was sketchy
- 3/5
Room wasn’t clean when we checked in. There were French fries on the floor next to the bed. The shower curtain rod wasn’t secured to the wall completely, so it sagged and the shower curtain would slide out while showering, resulting in water getting on the floor.
- 4/5
Small room love the history of the building. Convenient to everything
- 3/5
Pay extra for parking. Paper thin walls.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean place, in a good spot to visit all the downtown attractions
- 3/5
Rooms are small and not as close to the main part of the riverwalk as expected.
- 1/5
The rooms are small the building in dirty I mean there literally dust on the walls in the hallways . Parking Is terrible it’s so inconvenient
- 3/5
Terrible parking situation. $15.00 fee per vehicle and not on site. No security and no recourse when one of your vehicles gets broke in to and they steal golf clubs and Nike Panda shoes and you are told "File a Police Report because there is nothing we can do" will never say here again. The couch in the King Suite had holes and stains on it and the pool is a wading pool
- 1/5
The air conditioner was not working very well. The room smelled moldy and old.
- 3/5
Parking was not great. Breakfast area was not organized. I loved that the room temp stayed cool!
- 5/5
Located short walk to Riverwalk. Price was reasonable. Not too easy find and there's a couple of steps to go into hotel.. makes it hard if you have a bad back & have luggage & camera equip. Luckily there was a parking avail right nxt to hotel which we paid $25/night. The other parking lot was further & creepy, the parking next to building was hard to get into & had to reverse all the way out when leaving
- 4/5
The dryer in the laundry room did not work so I had to hang my clothes in my room. The swimming pool was supposed to be open until 10 PM but the desk clerk told me she was shutting it down at 9:45 PM Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
Steep, awkwardly-spaced stairs at the main entrance. Parking lot is half a block away. None of this was a deal breaker for us, but something to be aware of if traveling with mobility issues.
- 5/5
Na
- 4/5
Everything was great but be prepared to pay 20 bucks a night for parking on the property. It's worth it though.
- 4/5
A few blocks from Riverwalk and plenty of bars and restaurants. Close to the airport and Lackland AFB. Just what I needed.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay and everything is walking distance & yes there is parking available.
- 2/5
Does not have an "express" service even though its holiday inn express.
- 4/5
Very upset..NO PARKING LOT had to pay.$20 to park in a small tight space. Or $15 next door shirt walk and it was raining
- 5/5
Great location to the river walk. Only con was limited spots to unload car for room and to check in. Parking wasn't on site but close so you have to jockey your car to unload and park and then get the car again to reload when your leaving.
- 5/5
It was great , but the only thing that it needs, and since I've stayed there several times,it's more handicap parking spaces at the hotel itself .
- 4/5
Reasonable price
- 5/5
Most affordable and nice hotel in downtown San Antonio.
- 5/5
I was able to check in with no problem and breakfast was amazing, no issues to report 👍
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
It was a nice place to stay.
- 2/5
Okay for one night. Provided early check in, however room was not very clean. We asked for sheets to be changed due to finding several hairs and were told there was no longer housekeeping available.
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was hot but not that great. However, the lady (I think her name was Lucy) in charge of the breakfast area was EXCEPTIONAL! She kept everything stocked and was ALWAYS THERE (NEVER more than a few steps away and NEVER out of site) to help or for any questions.
- 5/5
Great place and beautiful view
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Loved the room.
- 3/5
I don't recommend staying in this exact one, other holiday inns might be better but check parking
- 5/5
Really nice place to stay
- 2/5
Front desk staff rude, but breakfast staff quite friendly.
- 5/5
The stay was wonderful.
- 5/5
Best place in the city
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
The staff was excellent. The manager Rosie was exceptional. They made the stay very comfortable. Definitely would come again
- 2/5
Upon arriving, the room was a bit stuffy and warm so we turned down the thermostat. After a couple of hours we realized that the cooling system was broken so the AC unit was merely nothing more than a fan, circulating the already stale and warm air. I let the front desk clerk know this and she stated no other rooms were available and instead was only able to offer me a box fan. In addition, we were prohibited by the hotel from opening the windows due to the building being old and considered a landmark. My wife and two kids had a horrible night of sleep as a result of the warm, stuffy and humid environment. Both my wife and my son woke up with a headache. The next morning upon checkout I told the morning desk clerk about our experience. To say she was indifferent was an understatement. Her response was a simple monotoned "I'm sorry about that" and proceeded to remind me to leave the room keys in the container in front of me. Absolutely. Unacceptable. The only reason I gave an overall rating of 2 stars was because their breakfast was better than average and the room was clean. But to be treated with a "tough luck, oh well" mentality is far from what we would call hospitality and concern for the customer.
- 2/5
First, I request a kingsize bed and ended having two queens, a/c never got to work. They have no parking spaces and have to park in a public parking that cost me half of the price of the room. Ridiculus!!!
- 1/5
The parking was a huge freaking mess. The room was dirty. Wouldn't recommend.
- 2/5
The parking not handicapped friendly at all had to park a block away and then they charged an extra 10 dollars to park. Room was on the 3rd floor and when we checked in the elevator was not working 😕. Very disappointed and would not recommend this Hotel to my worst enemy will not return.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, very clean rooms.
- 1/5
Had Roaches in my Room
- 2/5
The location was very good - walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. The property needs a refresh. Our room (#119) had a very odd smell in it; we believe it was because the pool was outside our room. It was very annoying. Don't stay in room 119! The pool also desperately needs a refresh.
- 4/5
Afternoon clerk could not tell us where to order food from, how we could walk to CVS.. Just said there's one around here somewhere. Got in and asked who delivers to this hotel and he says, I don't know, try Uber eats. Towels were poor quality and very thin. Only had 1 towel in room for 2 people reservation. Could use updating in bathrooms as well.
- 1/5
I wasn't aware of paying for parking, the lady at the front desk was not very nice, we got there at 245 pm and nade us wait till 3pm to check in i mean what's 15 minutes?? When i shiwd my concern about parking being away from the property she told me in a bad tone that that was specified in the ad, which im sure it wasn't, it didn't feel safe walking from the parking lot to the hotel, also, noisy neighbors
- 1/5
You walk in the door and the lobby smell smells like smoke and marijuana. The halls and elevator are even worse. The stairwell smelled like urine, there were eyelashes on the floor and some sort of goop on the walls. They had the carpet removed, and it was just concrete and looked absolutely filthy! Everything, everything! Was disgusting! The first room we were put in did not smell like smoke, but the toilet was flooded and had run out onto the carpet when we arrived in the room. And in in general, just looked dirty. We went back down and we were given another room. That one was just as filthy and smelled terrible. So we went and got yet another room. This one was the master suite. The toilet was running without any water, the desk had food stuck to it, the blanket had a cigarette hole burned into it. And it also smells like smoke and marijuana. We decided after three rooms that we were just going to leave. It is incomprehensible to us how or why favorable reviews were given for this place. The only plus I can give is, The guy who worked the night shift was really nice and he tried really hard to accommodate us. But honestly, that was the only good thing about this place. DO NOT STAY HERE? It is disgusting, filthy, nasty and smells horrible!
- 2/5
Good location, but not very clean. Also, the hotel was completely out of water? No water in lobby, no water in gym, and no solution when asked about it
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Very close to downtown, so we could walk to the places we wanted to see. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the comfy bed!
- 4/5
Cons: my room was very dark, common areas not well kept
- 3/5
Not the best, gets job done for a night or two but don’t expect anything great.
- 4/5
The property is nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable. But they don’t tell about parking for a reason the property only has a handful of spots and they charge you $15 a day. If you can’t fit, you have to park away from the property in another lot where you are charged $10 a day. It’s very inconvenient.
- 5/5
- 4/5
Parking area too far
- 1/5
1 for the whole hotel is unacceptable and then they charge $15 for parking unacceptable.
- 3/5
The window in our room was full of dirt and grime, and it was almost impossible to see outside.
- 4/5
Location
- 5/5
Great staff and great location.
- 3/5
There was hair in all our bath towels and I’m the shower.
- 2/5
The room was not cleaned daily, This was first time I’ve heard that I would have to request to have the room cleaned. I have stayed at other Hotels and never had I had to request to have the room cleaned and restocked . This was bad service.
- 3/5
There is no parking. I called before booking and the agent told me that there are only 8 parking spots. I showed up early only to find out those had to be pre reserved. Luckily there is a parking lot behind the hotel but it is a bit of a walk I would not recommend in the dark. Our room was clean and staff was nice parking just stunk. River walk is only a 5 min walk from the hotel.
- 5/5
Very inconvenient baggage drop off and pickup, parking a block away. Breakfast was good
- 5/5
Parking isn’t the only problem
- 5/5
No problems checking in. Friendly and helpful staff. Def recommend
- 4/5
Great location. Interesting history of building as a jail. Hotel comfortable but room cleaning not done.
- 5/5
We enjoyed it. It was an extended weekend trip and we loved the area. Was so close to everything. The only thing I had an issue with was we asked for a king size bed and they gave us two queens. It was a great trip. Breakfast was on point but the parking off site was kinda a pain but will def stay again
