The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, construction in the area is a common complaint among guests.

Our 3-night stay at The Fairmount was outstanding from the time we checked in until the time we departed. The staff is world-class, always going above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed. We had a beautiful two room suite on the third floor complete with all the amenities one would need. Highly recommend the quaint, boutique hotel for your get-away to San Antonio - you won't find a better location.

I thought I booked the “Fairmont”….this was not part of that brand…this was the “Fairmount”..I guess i need to learn how to read, but it wasn’t up to my expectations. Couldn’t change the heat so I froze all night.

The staff was exceptionally helpful, cr the front desk to the bar.

Is a small hotel, and you can notice clearly that every person that works there, have in mind that the first priority is the guest. The Nona restaurant breakfast (not included); but better than many other restaurants, the atmosphere it's great, they have tables outside too. And now that they finish the street construction, everything changes. They have a steak restaurant, but I have not been there.

We arrived late & was welcomed by wonderful and much needed Valet-then Miss Sarah gave us a quick description of every aspect of the hotel. As my husband was walking she grabbed the luggage car & pushed it herself-walked us to our room. She is a jewel! Made us feel sooo welcomed ! We walked to the 4th floor where we delighted in the beautiful view & had a drink. Then we headed to dinner @NonnaOsteria-where the recommended lobster Ravioli & sweet moscato was Perfect! And the staff was Welcoming & Attentive ! We had a day out breakfast at a nice cafe 5 min walk from hotel, park in front of hotel for those of you that have children. The day we spend IN SA-to return to have dinner with my daughter @SiloPrme—right there in the hotel. Piano playing, amazing food-ribeye, pork chops & salmon -nothing disappointed us! Atmosphere. Service, Ambience-was Amazing !!! All through out our quick 2nighy stay we chatted in between with Ryan & Rachel at the downstairs bar-where they made us feel like we knew eachother for years and had on the spot drinks -you have to try the Sangria! I say all of this to say book here ! You will not be disappointed ! Bed was soooo great, SUPER CLEAN room, set up-I don’t think I missed anyone -but wanted to say Everyone was amazing ! Grateful we found this place-definitely will be back !

Charming historic hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved the Nespresso in the room. Great views from the rooftop bar. Easy walk to Hemisphere Park and to the River Walk. Some road construction in front of the hotel / restaurant but not a problem for our Uber drivers.

The hotel is beautiful and has a great vibe and the room was comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was beautiful with lovely Molton Brown products. I enjoyed the curated selection of products in the mini bar. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food at Nonna was delicious. I was even able to make a dinner reservation for a large group on short notice. Very minor things: it would be nice to have a complementary bottle of water each day and it was difficult to turn on the shower without a spray of cold water on the head!

I loved this hotel! The staff were all so friendly. When we checked in we were walked to our room and given a really neat history lesson on the hotel. The room was very clean and cute. Loved the big shutters and the balcony. The LaVillita village and entrance to the riverwalk were 1 block away so it was a very short walk. We had our 5yr old granddaughter with us and she loved the park across the street. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go so never needed our car the whole time. We will definitely stay here again!

The front desk concierge Brent provided great service. The room was clean and ready for an early check-in. We dined at the restaurant Nonna which had exceptional food and service. The complimentary items in the room including the Nespresso machine and pods were a nice addition. The architecture of the building and the craftsmanship of the interior of the building were all very impressive. The views from the rooftop bar and terrace made for a wonderful evening.

The bartender (I wish I could remember her name!) was also wonderful—she took such great care of us and even made sure we had a cozy spot by the bar as we enjoyed a delicious meal from Nonna. The service was impeccable, and we felt so welcomed and pampered throughout our stay. The Fairmount Hotel continues to be our home away from home, and we’ll be returning year after year. Room 312 was just perfect, with beautiful views and all the little touches that make it special. Thank you to the entire team at the Fairmount for another amazing weekend. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

The staff at this hotel made it great! I will say the location is a bit misleading on a map. The Riverwalk starts across the street, so the Fairmount isn't ON the Riverwalk. But it is very close. I highly recommend eating at the Italian restaurant on the 1st floor. The food & service were exceptional!

The location is excellent. Next to Hemisphere Park and La Villita, walking distance to the Alamo and Riverwalk, but also close to more eclectic venues on S. Alamo Street. Our room was very comfortable and quite. There are two excellent restaurants onsite, and a great lobby bar and rooftop bar. This hotel was built in 1906 and still has that charm - but with modern furnishings. Hotel staff were exceptional.

Staff, location, property were fantastic. I did not like how the information was presented on Booking.com. The booking mentioned "breakfast included" but the final invoice shows $50 vouchers applied for breakfast charges. If it was made clear at the time of booking that it's actually not a free breakfast but a 50 dollar breakfast voucher, it would not be misleading.

The bathroom included A gold plated shower which had erratic water temperature and difficult to adjust, when we found warm or cool it immediately went right back to scolding hot. We spent a few hours at the bar, i ordered a cosmo at the bar downstairs which was HORRIBLE, it was watered down and tasted horrible and weak. We did appreciate the fact the young bartender took it off our bill and I replaced it with a decent glass of reasling wine, my husband enjoyed a bourbon and sprite Upside was the hotel and room was quiet although in the middle of down town construction zone. When it came to ordering dinner in our room, it was quick and staff was accommodating to offering extra chairs for our room so my husband and I could both sit at the desk in our room to enjoy our Valentines dinner. Now. The dinner wasn't as good as would be expected from such a high priced hotel. We will not be returning. (Review too long to finish)

The double queen suite is designed so you enter into a parlor area, down a short hall is the bedroom, and off the hallway is a bathroom with enclosed toilet area, shower, and sink. Nice private areas, as well as the parlor to entertain, if one chooses. The suite was 61F when we arrived; we wished to turn up the heat to 70F. This proved easy to do, but not lasting. Once the temp was reached the heat shut off: we repeated this when we wanted more heat, including during the night. An access code to lock in a temp would be an improvement. Maybe carpet... The beds are comfortable, with soft tops and firm support, lots of pillows, too. A lighted closet is nice. There was a TV in the bedroom which we did not use. A lamp on that credenza would be a great addition. There were three sconces on the walls opposite. There was no refrigerator, microwave, table, desk, or chairs in the suite. These would be great additions in the parlor. There was a giant TV on a credenza. And a couch bed, which was nice and firm to set on. Renting a suite, we wished to eat in it. That is not possible without a kitchenette space. Most hotels provide a fridge and microwave; guests expect those amenities. We would stay here again, as it was a clean and beautiful hotel. However, either the cost per night or the amenities available, need to be adjusted. Keep your staff, they are excellent!!!

It’s a great place to stay. The onsite restaurants are amazing. Brandon the manager of the restaurants made sure our dining experience was amazing each evening. The wild boar pasta at Nonna is a must. The second floor is kind of weird if you are older or immobile because you have to go up and down stairs with your baggage. There are some nice open balconies with panoramic views of downtown. Parking is easy. Only 2 drawbacks are construction on the outside streets starts at 8 AM. Also no workout facilities but easy running trails on the river are wide open and enjoyable. The hotel and the rooms are so nice. A total steal of a deal.

The room was large and had a nice bathroom. I liked the 4 poster bed. The room had a balcony that overlooked a courtyard. The hotel is under construction and there were workers who had a tile saw going non stop all day right under our window. The lobby had scaffolding and ladders everywhere. There was not staff in the lobby sometimes and had to wait several times to talk to someone. Our room had dirty coffee cups and dirty drinking glasses.

Nice place, but they renovated the bathrooms and failed to install a single towel rod or hook - there is literally no place to hang a towel. Side note, they have scent sticks in the rooms which makes the room smell musky and stuffy. I had them remove the bottle and then the room was fine.

This was our second stay with the hotel and we really like the location, the style of the hotel and the atmosphere. We would definitely stay again. The only issue is it can get a little warm in the rooms as there are no ceiling fans, and although the air comes on and off quite often, it doesn’t cool the room down as much as it should.

As a boutique hotel the rooms were the kind of style I like. High end bathroom which I really enjoyed. Stylishly decorated. Comfortable and good looking bed. Things to know in advance: The room I was in had no desk or space for one. This is a converted historical building so the room I was in did not have space to work. Parking charges were extra. When I stayed, there was significant roadworks directly outside the property which made getting there by car at night very difficult. I wish I had been notified in advance about this. I came back to the hotel late twice and there was no one there to assist me with the mandatory valet parking. The location is great for walking downtown and the riverwalk. I did not get a chance to try the rooftop bar or restaurants but other locals told me they were good. Overall, would I stay there again? Probably. Would I check out alternatives to staying there again before signing up? Probably I would. There are lots of hotels in this area of town so I suggest you shop around. Overall, I am happy with my stay there but I would likely look for an alternative next time.

A beautiful historic hotel in downtown San Antonio. We loved that the property was small and Intimate. Perfect date night spot.

To start, there was construction in front of the hotel, which was not ideal given the premium price we paid for our stay. The lack of a traditional reception desk was also off-putting; instead, check-in was conducted at a podium with the receptionist using computers off to the side. The building itself is old, and some areas clearly need improvement, such as the floor of the elevator. The patio behind the bar on the first floor, while nice, could benefit from better patio furniture to make it more inviting. Our experience at the rooftop bar was particularly frustrating. The staff took forever to take our order, which dampened our enjoyment. At check-out, we decided to have a cup of coffee at the bar while waiting to leave, only to find out the coffee machine was broken. The server mentioned it had been out of order for a week with no clear timeline for when it would be fixed. In summary, while this property is small and historic, it lacks the luxury and attention to detail I have come to expect from Fairmont. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

We loved staying at the Fairmount to celebrate our anniversary. It’s a small boutique hotel with tons of charm… and we loved the rooftop bar. Both the bar and our room had unobstructed views of the tower and downtown. It was also very convenient to everything on the Riverwalk… all easy to walk. We will definitely be back!!!

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. I love the look and feel of this place. We were closed enough to walk to the AmericaTower and the Riverwalk I will definitely stay again.

The hotel was very cute and nicely styled. Both the rooftop bar (excellent Old Fashioned) and the lobby bar were nice and had great bartenders. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, however, the thermostat is located in the room foyer directly below the AC vent which causes the AC to cycle 30 seconds on then one minute off, and that got kind of annoying. And there was a problem with our hot water. It was fixed quickly but happened a few times, so another small annoyance.

Views everywhere!! I love that it had free parking. I love the history of the hotel and the charm it carried. Shoutout to the staff they are awesome. The live piano was amazing

The room was very nice.

It is convenient to the conference center and everything about it is top notch, from the toiletries, a deep bath, tons of hot water, gorgeous bedding, comfortable bed and speedy WIFI. The staff were very kind and helpful and gave me a very late checkout as I had an early evening flight. The restaurant was excellent too, I had lunch on the last afternoon and wish I had known it was so good as I probably would have had at least one dinner there as well.

Beautiful hotel room and property. Walkable park and dining adjacent a plus. Didnt know about the road construction adjacent. Didnt know the roof terrace was closed/by reservation only. Front desk is friendly but overworked. No valet, no other staff apparent.
- 4/5
I didn't like the construction around the hotel, hard to get in and out from the parking lot.
- 5/5
Fabulous stay at this unexpected and special hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and love the coffee machine in room. The tub/shower is great and the lighting is unique. The in house restaurants are beyond good. A short walk to the convention center. I will definitely stay again the roof top bar is lovely in the evening.

Only issue: construction in area -- hotel and staff excellent
- 5/5
Super close to downtown but not right on Riverwalk
- 5/5
The room was large and comfortable. Only issue is no actual desk to work at, but did have a very nice large comfy chair with little table next to it to set my laptop on if needed. Great refrigerator, too. Nice bathroom. Staff was OUTSTANDING! Loved the bar that greets you as you walk in. Also has a really nice rooftop bar as well. Easy Valet service and reasonably priced. All around gem of a hotel!!!
- 5/5
Very comfortable. I liked that there was a couch so I could watch television and eat the desert that I was allowed to eat in my room. I asked for a bandaid because I wore the wrong shoes and they had them! As a single woman traveling I could stay in the hotel as there was a bar and two restaurants.

Historic building in historic district. 1 block from Riverwalk
- 3/5
Very unique building and the rooms are lovely. However there is zero sound proofing so you can hear every hallway conversation or door close from inside the room. Onsite restaurant, Nonna, was great - delicious dinner! The name “The Fairmount” is a bit deceiving.
- 5/5
Place was excellent. Spacious room. Staff went above and beyond. Will be staying there again!
- 5/5
A little difficult to get to because of construction going on, not the hotel’s fault. Easy access to the river walk. Hotel was nice, room 203 was quiet. Rooftop bar was great.

Spacious and well appointed!

I recently had the privilege of staying at Hotel Fairmount and words truly cannot describe the experience. The service was simply unbelievable - every staff member went above and beyond to ensure comfort and satisfaction. The room I stayed in was absolutely unforgettable, with breathtaking views and luxurious amenities that made me feel like royalty. This hotel has truly set a new standard for excellence in hospitality. A stay here is an experience that transcends words - it must be felt to be believed."

Close to to city.

This hotel is gorgeous! Our room was huge and so nice! We also ate at the silo and it was delicious!
- 4/5
The Fairmount is an interesting place. The old building has been nicely renovated, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is attentive. The layout is odd, with no real reception or lobby area to speak of. The location is great, close to the River Walk, but construction was going on in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, making access complicated. They had valet set up which was helpful. The rooftop bar and on site restaurant are great amenities.
- 5/5
The hotel is absolutely adorable! It's in a great location for walking around. The staff was amazing, and the bartender even went above and beyond, and took us up to the rooftop bar and pointed out a lot of the buildings around there. She was very knowledgeable about the history of San Antonio, and was a great "tour guide". Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff

The only issue is a lot of construction right out front . They do not serve breakfast. Regardless of these issues, it was a very enjoyable stay and they have a rooftop bar with beautiful views

Friendly staff, nice rooftop....Markus is great up there. great food at Nonna's, quiet strip of downtown. Rooms are clean and very nice.
- 3/5
Check in experience was odd. Lobby was often left unstaffed. Floors in the lobby were filthy - probably because of construction outside, but was noticeably dirty. Hotel feels a bit tired. Lobby is in need of a deep clean and should be revisited to be more welcoming. What even is that dead area to the left of entry?
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel and gorgeous room - really it is a suite with a beautiful living room, washroom and separate bedroom! Excellent service and even though there is construction nearby the valet took care of our car and it was an easy registration!
- 5/5
Beautiful getaway in a wonderful city. Enjoyed our stay. Would love to return to the Fairmount in the future.

Nice quiet hotel near riverwalk. Great little hotel!

Fast & friendly check-in. Welcoming bartender right as you walk in the door. Clean and comfortable rooms. This is a classic hotel in the modern era.
- 2/5
Hotel desk and bar staff were friendly. Not hotel fault, but surrounding area had major construction going on, not too much noise, but certainly not attractive. Room was dirty. Stuff on the floor, hair, a button, hair, bobby pin, hair band, coffee pod still in maker and used pod in new coffee rack, half bag of chips in dresser. When I stepped in shower I noticed half used soap bar and empty liquid soap. Stepped out to get soap from vanity and left nasty, wet, dirty footprint on shower mat. Shower floor was filthy. Spent a few minutes hosing it with shower wand. Then the best part, swung the bathroom door to look for a towel hook and was rewarded with a pair of panties on the door handle (well used). Assume housekeeping had a bad day or didn’t show up. One or two of those things I’d ignore, in total, worthy of a bad review.
- 5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff went above and beyond to be accommodating. The rooms were spacious, clean, and updated. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting San Antonio!

So convenient to many places down town la Villeta rite across the street an hemisphere park also , room was pretty big well worth the money

The bed was amazing the best night sleep I have had in a while . Very comfortable. The staff was awesome even though they work more than they should they never fell short. Definitely plan on staying again.

Lovely hotel in perfect location with an excellent roof top bar. Jennifer and her staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. If you are planning a stay in San Antonio look no further than the Fairmount hotel.
