Best Western Plus Lackland Hotel & Suites

Great stay. No complaints. Stumbled upon some wildlife there. That was about the most exciting/exhilarating thing overall. For context hotel is located in a wooded area so its to be expected that wildlife would be in said area. We ran into a juvenile rattlesnake, western diamondback to be exact. Front desk was alerted. Hopefully they relocated said snake over something less savory such as ending its life. Snakes eat pests so i let them be.

Felt damp and muggy. Sheets felt damp. I’m assuming from the humidity . After pulling my bedsheets back you can clearly see hair . sheets had not been replaced. after speaking to the staff in the front, they were very accommodating and changed my room quickly. Second room was not very much more pleasing still very humid in the room and shower floor I would never go bar feet. Just didn’t look safe. I wouldn’t even go bare feet on the carpet. Extremely disappointed pictures made it look extremely nice and low kept. Staff was very friendly wasn’t even mad at them. They are just paid staff it’s the owners that’s need to do better. Also not the cheapest place in town either

The staff is great and the location was perfect for its proximity to Lackland AFB. However the elevator was constantly OOC and the breakfast was meager and did not open until 530am but their staff told us that we should leave the hotel no later than 540am to make our son's graduation from BMT. The facility is tired and the room very average. The air conditioning controls were unavailable and we froze to the point we had to request additional bedding. If not for its location I would not recommend it. However, for convenience to the base it was good for us due to the heavy traffic. Pool was nice and had a hot tub.

Workers are very helpful and the place was clean but when we arrived our room was locked from the inside latch and we had to wait 45 mins until we could actually enter our room.

Property was great for the price & close to Lackland AFB. My only gripe would be the shower. Instead of a curtain you get a glass wall that it’s about half the length of the shower which allowed a lot of water to reach outside of the shower.

Very helpful/accommodating staff. Very knowledgeable of BMT graduation events. Hotel is conveniently located near Lackland AFB. No interstate travel required to get from hotel to base. Room was a little rundown but overall, it was clean. Will book again for future visits.

Breakfast was amazing everyday. They cleaned the rooms daily. Staff is welcoming and polite. They provide maps of the USAFB for families. Location is close to the base. Plenty of close parking available. We've stayed twice now for both of our kids that went through the USAF BMT. It's like a home away from home.

This is my second time staying here and I’m always pleasantly surprised. The only thing I will mention is that I was out of my room from 7am-3pm visiting family. Within that time room service came and collected my dirty towels but didn’t replace them with new ones or change trash/ stock tissue and toilet paper. I was able to go to the front desk and ask for more towels though. Other than that the room was clean besides a few areas of dust on the lamp/dresser. There’s always parking available aswell and I’ve never struggled finding a spot. I didn’t utilize the breakfast this time, but last time I did and I enjoyed it! I really appreciate how friendly and helpful the staff always is! They’re always so quick to help, I needed to wash my laundry and they were very helpful with the process. By far one of the better and more affordable hotels to choose from. Very convenient for me since I often visit the base and San Antonio. Thanks so much!

Parking is fine. Area is fine. Learn the side roads if you plan on being there any amount of time. Also…. Why not just have a dang shower door. Poor design. Looks nice but not helpful. Overall fine place to stay. Beds are good and it does what it’s suppose to do.

The elevator was not functioning correctly. Everytime you wanted to get on it from the lobby you had to get a staff member to assist you. It would only go up to the third floor in a four story building. About midnight, it sounded like someone's kids were running rampant in the room above us. After about 30 minutes of this nonstop I called the front desk to complain. They informed me it was not guests in the room above us but staff members moving bedding in carts up the stairs from the third to fourth floor because of the elevator issue (I guess this just had to be done at midnight instead of during the day when guests weren'ttrying to sleep). They assured me they were amost finished-it continued another 90 minutes. Also, there were only two luggage carts for a large hotel. Neither was available when we went to check out (we checked out early because we had somewhere to be at 0730). We waited half an hour for one to appear (we had a heavy piece of equipment we needed to move) but one never showed. Our guess is people took them to their room the night before so they'd have one when they went to check out since there were only two.

The alarm went off at 11:45pm and we had to leave the building, apparently a teenager had access to it but the staff didn’t explain anything or be doing any kind of organization in case this was a real emergency. This hotel served mainly to Air Force families because the proximity to the Air Force base, we wish the owners take better care of the property not just putting a sign on everything that isn’t working, fix it!

The only thing is that the location suits me. I stayed in Room 204. The rooms and corridors—in fact, the entire hotel—smelled of mold, and breathing was particularly difficult inside the rooms. Furthermore, it seemed as though no cleaning had been done at all; the desk, television, and armchair were covered in dust. Room service did not come to clean the room on the first day, and for the following two days, I had to remind the reception desk every single day. In short, the hotel fell far short of my expectations. Incidentally, this was my second visit to this hotel, but I highly doubt I will ever stay here again.

Clean, safe, and in close proximity to the base gate we needed to be to without having to get back on the interstate. Breakfast was amazing!

Water was turned off for 5 hours and could not shower for a party. The staff never informed us that the water would be turned off. Water was not restored until 10:00pm

On 5/16/26, water was cut off in the evening for over 5 hours. The staff never informed us they would be shutting off the water. When we called to ask how much longer the water would be off, they said about an hour. Three hours later I called back and they said water should be on in 30 minutes. Finally around 10pm the water was turned back on. We were late for a party because we were unable to shower and get ready.

Love the size of the beds (two queens) and the refrigerator really kept everything very cold. The room was directly across from the elevator and ice machine and we never heard any noises and the hallway smelled really nice all the time. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was unusually good…hot and constantly refilled by the amazing cook…she was wonderful. The location to the air force base spot on. The outlets didn’t hold the plugs to charge our phones but we called the front desk and an electrician came after only 5 minutes to correct the problem…good job Best Western!

Rooms were very clean, staff was prompt, professional and very friendly. Breakfast was ok I guess but not much for the guest who don’t eat pork. But overall very nice stay. Definitely recommend the stay!

The room was old and the carpet felt dirty like it needed to be replaced. The bathroom had old, worn out tiles in the shower and did not drain well. Also, the elevator broke while we were there!

We loved everything about this hotel... comfortable beds, nice and comfortable L-shaped couch/pullout bed (my daughter just slept on the couch rather than pulling out the bed), great breakfast, yummy coffee machine, friendly and helpful staff. We were there for our son's graduation from BMT and had to leave VERY early on Wed. and Thurs. mornings and even though the hot breakfast wasn't ready at (the ridiculous hour of) 4:30am when we were leaving, they had already put out a few items like cereal, fruit, yogurt, and the waffle maker! Very accommodating! We were thoroughly impressed by this hotel and will stay there again whenever we're in the area!

I loved every single bit of my stay !

The beds were comfy! And clean! I loved the little sitting area in the lobby. We sat there with our Airman for a bit just visiting The only thing I didn’t like was there were no vending machines, however, the had a fridge and a little nook with different drinks and snacks you can buy at the desk. So that was awesome.

Everything was acceptable uncomfortable. The building was just getting older. But very functional in a good place to stay if you have someone graduating from Lackland Air Force Base.

There was an oder to the room. The breakfast was served to you and you could'nt get hot seconds. The waffles were good.

I didn't experience the breackfast but the parking is safe.

Complementary breakfast. The property was very old the bathrooms look like they needed to be gutted out and just redone. There was coke and stone missing from the bathroom. The tub was stained, and they had Auntie slip mats in the tub to disguise the stained tub. I didn’t even want to take a shower in it. There was a whole in the fabric of the headboard. The surrounding area looked deserted. I’m not like what the pictures look like online.

The staff was wonderful and the room was clean but the air conditioner was not working in our room. They did transfer us once we told them there was a problem.

Reasonable price. Kept hitting the shin of my leg because the wood frame sticks further out than the mattress.

The receptionist were friendly and welcoming The breakfast area gets overcrowded, food was cold. The shower floors looked gross and took forever forever for the water to drain. One of the rooms had an awful smell as well.

The bathroom / shower.....everything seemed odd the way it was all laid out. Just strange.

Layout of the property was easy to understand. The shower didn’t have a curtain. There was a glass panel near the shower. When you took a shower the water sprayed outside the shower.

My kids and husband enjoyed the breakfast. I did like how polite the staff were. The shelves were extremely dusty upon our arrival, the lamp shade was stained with something brown, the walls had stains on them as well in some areas, even in the bathroom. I just felt dirty, and I was actually disappointed when it came to that because the reviews said the stay here was really good which is why we chose the hotel. The hotel had a funky smell to it mixed in with a floral scent almost like they were trying to mask the funky smell with something clean.

I checked out a few mins before 630am so breakfast wasnt ready. Parking was easy, close and well lot. No probs.

Everything needs updated. The 1st room we had was dirty and then the 2nd room we had the tiles in the shower were starting to peel off. Better lighting in the rooms. The light bulbs are the dull warm white, not the bright white. Half the time the staff wasn't at the front desk when you needed them. I wouldn't stay there again.

Outstanding staff --- friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were attending BMT and the hotel provided excellent information, map and even set out breakfast for those attending the very early morning event. Very comfortable beds, large room, good hot water pressure. Convenient to highway, restaurants and shopping once you figure out the highway Access roads. The pullout bed part of the sofa in our room was broken so uncomfortable to sit on. Management was aware of this but has to replace the entire sofa.

When checking in, was told rudely that we are early like we were being punished (which we understood, it was around 12:30pm, we just wanted to let them know we arrived to the area and give our info) and that they would message or call when room was available. NEVER got a call or notification. Had to return twice to find out if room was ready. Was traveling with a small child, very not welcoming. Room had water and mold damage in bathroom and above window (above a/c unit from floor above. Bathroom had rust and deteriorating floor near door entrance to bathroom. Room entrance deadbolt would not lock (didn’t go into door, couldn’t even turn it). Pool had no towels available. Had to request a couple times while standing wet and waiting. The waterfall/ceiling sprinkler for the pool was inoperable and hot tub jets barely even worked (even after turning the timer and on/off button on located in the wall). The small pool was cold, hot tub was warm though. Staff overall was not friendly and seemed like they didn’t care if we were guests. We were polite and always said please and thank you, yet talked to like we were and inconvenience. Won’t stay here again.

Very nice stay. We got the one that had a full kitchen which was a surprise. Cuz I didn't pay attention when I ordered the room lol but very nice pretty much clean the only complaint was ceiling fan needed to be dusted pretty bad and maybe a couple shelves. But beyond that everybody was friendly super nice and very helpful on everything we asked

The 1st thing is the breakfast was not what you would expect a a Best Western, it was below standard compared to All the the other BW'S, My room was ok the microwave licke as shut down with my food inside, that I had driven and 11/2 to get because we were on My Birthday vacation, we were on the 4th floor with no screen on the windows. Was disappointed in that hotel. The Staff was very nice they even brought me and my hubby a pizza.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 2/25/26-2/28/26 for the proximity to the Air Force graduation ceremony for my brother-in-law. The hotel and our room were clean, welcoming and comfortable, with a very nice full breakfast every morning in the lobby. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall it was a great experience with a very convenient location to many areas we explored. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

The typical taste less waffle mix, 2 types of cereal, coffee, latte machine, orange and apple juice machine. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel was the indoor pool and hot tub. Of course the hot tub was broken the whole time we were there and the whole area wreaked of strong chlorine :/ no exhaust fan in the bathroom so it was stifling when someone would shower and there was significantmold growth that they were tryingto hid. Beds okay, ac worked well, but lack of exhaust fan in the bathroom kept the air very moist and we all had sore throats.

They are super aware of the AFB ceremonies, proceedings, etc. and can advise you if you are attending something on base. they have maps, tips, timelines, etc. for these affairs. they are particularly helpful to all who are arriving for the weekly Basic Training graduation events. the rate is good also.

While the Staff was very nice and we did enjoy the morning breakfasts, our a/c never worked properly all 4 days of our stay. 2 lights in our room didn’t work, nor did 2 electrical outlets. The pool hot tub jets also didn’t work during our 3 trips to the pool. The highway noise was at times unbearable.

The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom needed deep cleaning. The showerhead had really bad rust and the toilet paper roll also had rust. Receptionist said hotel very old. It's understandable but have it clean. Nice to have the bed made but have the sheets changed. The bed sheets had stains and they don't come inside to changed sheets only fix the bed. Shampoo and conditioner aren't good. There like small bottle like a thumb. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The good part is it's a safe place to be in compared to luxury hotels. Room was spotless and very clean! Had great staff that provides informational maps and information abiut Lackland graduation which was very helpful! The only thing is getting back to the hotel from base is a little rough has have to get on the freeway just to get off and go back around, but would not stop me from staying there again.

The proximity to Lackland Air Force Base is by far the best quality. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was served, but it was hot and the portions were generous. I would stay there again.

Long wait for room service, a/c was broken and could only be set at 59/60. Most of the outlets in the room the plugged device would just fall out of the outlet. So we couldn’t plug in our phones. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and the cleaning staff did a great job every day. They really tried hard with a real nice breakfast. And overall, it was a very, very nice group there that ran that hotel, and it was in good shape and very nice.

The property was close to Lackland AFB where my son was graduating from BMT and it was easy and quick to get there from the hotel.

They need to do a better job cleaning the rooms especially the restrooms. Continental breakfast was good.

Our air conditioner had a malfunction where you couldn’t turn it up or down so it stayed about 62 in there. Also, none of the sockets worked in the bathroom and our room keys didn’t work correctly. We brought all of the concerns up to the staff and they said they were aware of everything and didn’t offer to correct anything or send us to another room.

Spacious and comfortable rooms with all amenities. Extremely close to the Air Force Base. I would have given all 5 stars, if it wasn’t for a mishap with my room needing a new card reader, and not being available to acess for awhile.

The staff was fantastic. They provided us with info for BMT graduation and served breakfast early as well. The breakfast was very good and plenty of variety for us. Room was clean and comfy. Pool areas also clean. Very easy drive to stores and Lackland base.

Parking is open and free, and I never had trouble finding a spot. The room was okay: comfortable enough, though it did have a slightly old smell if the air conditioning wasn’t running. The shower grout looked outdated, so I’d recommend bringing shower shoes, although they do provide a bath mat. For those with long hair like mine, they do have hair dryers available. The refrigerator and microwave both worked extremely well, which was a plus. It was quiet throughout my stay, and the elevators were quick and reliable. Breakfast is served daily, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, it starts earlier (5:30 AM) to accommodate BMT graduation schedules. The hotel is just a 7–9 minute drive to Lackland AFB, and I never had to wait in a long line when driving to the BMT events nor dropping my Airman off. I didn’t use the pool or gym, and I didn’t spend time in the lobby, but it looked really nice. Overall, I’d stay here again and recommend this place for the convenience and comfort it offers for those attending BMT graduations.

There isn’t much around, but it’s clean & quiet and easy access to the freeway.

We knew we would be checking in late.So I called about 6 PM and told them we may not check in until midnight. They assured me my room would be ready just to get the keys from the front desk. At check in, when we tired it turns out our double room was unavailable and they gave my wife and 2 teenage girls a single king room with a broken ac thay wouldnt shut off. They all had to sleep with extra clothes and a hoodie on. Another inconvenience was the lack of usb ports in the room. Most modern hotels have an abundance of them in the room but this one didn't have a single one and the girls do not bring charging blocks

The property was nice and quiet. The staff were excellent and were able to accommodate early check-in for me. Smooth checkout process took maybe like five minutes I really liked the cleanliness of the place and me being a traveler a woman at that, it was relatively pretty safe. I like some other areas nearby.

Would have liked to been able to check in early. It would have easy to do since it was only an hour early and the clerk was just sitting in the lobby.

Upon check in at 10pm after a long drive, the clerk came to desk and asked me what I needed, I was checking in she then said “let me go pour some drinks for the people at the bar first” and I stood there for 5 minutes waiting as she talked to the bar patrons. That was not cool. Then everyone I came back to hotel my room key would not work so every time I would have to go to front desk. That shouldn’t happen. I was intending to stay through Saturday but the key not working for a 3rd time I decided to depart Friday night at 7pm cause I was done with the apathetic front desk. But the coffee was good and 24/7, and the room was clean.

We travel a lot and have not had such a bad experience with the rate we paid could have stayed elsewhere. The pictures fooled me! Check in was great but my room had no shower curtain, no towels, and one of my beds had stains. When coming back at night the side doors didn’t work a minor inconvenience but the worst was being woken up at 6am from kids literally running for 2 hours above us. I should have stayed else where I will never stay here again.

We were there for our sons graduation the room was not clean when given to us the bathroom was dirty the blankets were dirty our room did not have towels I have to go to the front desk to request towels and while I was there had to go to the front desk 4 times to get my key activated

This hotel desperately needs to be renovated. Wall at bottom of shower was old and paint was worn off. Our room was not cleaned well, however, most of this is due to it badly needs renovation. Bed very uncomfortable;mattress very hard. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. Hotel definitely needs a facelift.

We would only recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a low-budget option and are willing to compromise on comfort and cleanliness. Serious cockroach infestation in this hotel! They’re all over in the bathroom floor at night. Also, I was requesting 2 rooms next to each other with my children. We didn’t even get a room on the same floor with my kids. I got the room key next to my kids room, but some other family was already in the room . Double booked the room. Just imagine when we were walking in the room and someone already living there. Horrible! Next day, my laundry bag with all of our clothes was picked up by someone and ended up in the trash bin behind the hotel. My son was digging in the trash to pick them out. Couldn’t found them. Management never called me with any explanation who and why trow our clothes in the truck. Absolutely horrendous experience in this place.

Our stay was fine. The breakfast was good and the guest customer service was excellent. Laundry machines worked well and didn’t leave any weird smells. There was a machine out of order though. My kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Bathroom could have used some tidying up where the door and the tub met. Microwave worked. Fridge wouldn’t get cold enough. We ended up not using it. There were cockroaches in our room that we noticed on day 2 of our stay. We didn’t mention to the front office since we were leaving the next morning.

Shower was very dirty and housekeeping kept forgetting to leave us clean towels. Other than that, the front staff was very friendly. It was in a great location to the Air Force base. I appreciate that the hotel provided us with the Air Force base directions , where to park and what to expect at graduation/parade- I found that information very helpful!

They also moved their morning breakfast time to accommodate those of us who were there for our grads. The whole hotel team made the experience very stress free!

Cons: our initial room was dirty (splatter on wall, hairs/dirt on desk chair) and neither phones worked. Got switched to another room which was fine but had a weird smell to the bathroom and the AC kept going down in temp on its own when I would set it. I bought a bag of chips from the lobby which turned out to be expired by two weeks. Shower water pressure wasn’t great. Towels are thin as ever. Ventilation in the rooms isn’t adequate, you can see mold/mildew/rust in walls/fixtures of bathroom. Overall seems like cleaning isn’t adequate – there was a half eaten vienna sausage underneath the sink of my bathroom. This was my first time here and I chose it because it had “excellent” reviews/ratings. If you’re looking for a no frills VERY basic hotel that’s close to Lackland AFB or downtown then this is it. But it was definitely NOT worth the $200+/night I paid for and it wasn’t my definition of excellent. I will be staying elsewhere if I return to the area.

Just a one night stay with family. Nice hotel, beds were okay, breakfast "buffet" was good. They served you, had eggs, potatoes, bacon sausage, gravy, biscuits. Had waffle maker, 2 cereal options, fruit, pastries, yogurt was expired :/, and a espresso machine. Pool was FREEZING, and hot tub bubbles were non existent, but nice and warm. Overall will likely stay again...close to family in the area :)

This hotel was very convenient to the base, which is what I wanted. The hotel had a great continental breakfast, which was served early for days at the BMT graduation! Very friendly staff!! The pool and hot tub was basically empty the entire stay, so was nice to enjoy that. The hot tub was ok, as the jets didn’t work, but that hot water was great! The room itself was clean…enough. I wouldn’t eat anything that fell off of the table! I did have a couple of flying insects and saw a spider on the sink. The fridge worked, but wasn’t very cold. I wasn’t there long enough to really care, just a place to rest my head. The bed was really comfy, as well as the pillows!!! I’d definitely stay again, just because I’d be only staying to sleep and shower.

We highly recommend the Best Western Plus Lackland. It was so close to the base. Literally two turns out of their drive to get on base to attend the 2 day graduation event!!! We also enjoyed their hospitality by providing free breakfast. And they graciously packed it for the guest to take with them to the early morning events. Great job Best Western!!!! You have outdone yourself!!!!!

Pretty decent hotel considering the area isn’t the best. The room was clean and spacious, and the hallway smelled surprisingly good—most 3-star hotels usually have that musty vibe. I'd recommend it if you're in a pinch and don't mind driving 15 miles from downtown SA.

Overall, great service and friendly staff. Room was super clean, but the furniture was a bit tired.

I originally made a reservation for one night, had to cancel and redo for two nights. Apparently I did not do this correctly and my second reservation was not made. Being there for my son’s graduation, I was so happy they still had a room for us. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They even had maps and information for graduation days. I would definitely recommend!

We chose this hotel because it was only two miles from Lackland Air Force Base and we were in San Antonio for our daughter’s graduation from Air Force basic training. It was perfect. The staff was welcoming and gave us detailed information about how to get to the Base and what the schedule of events would be. As the events started early, the hotel hosted the free breakfast an hour early, so we could have breakfast before we left. The rooms are wonderful with microwave and refrigerator. Parking is free. The hotel is also an easy drive from the airport. Highly recommend!

Good size room, bathroom definitely needs TLC tub/shower tiles and fixtures especially . Room service was not done as per other comfort inn we have stay in. This one only change the towels did not make the beds or provide sanitation rolls while our stay. Good location near military base. The continental breakfast was nice and fresh including coffee bar, including fresh fruits.

The room smelled awful, the AC unit was supper noisy and had a musty smell and the curtains were moldy, most employees were friendly but a few were rude, the room was in disrepair, overall not a good experience
