I’m also dumbfounded as to why high-hats were not installed, as the only lighting in the room is one sconce at the door, then 2 on either side of the bed. That said, it is quite cheap relative to other properties and you get what you pay for. Had literally any other properties been available during my needed dates, I would have certainly chosen otherwise.

The hotel needs updating. I was not impressed upon arrival. It was a very busy weekend, I really just needed a place to shower & sleep. The carpet was dirty. The shower curtain smelled. The drain stop was laying on the side of the tub. There were sticky spots on the bedside table. The room was dusty. The window was very dirty & had something black stuck to it. The final straw was finding a mouse trap next to the microwave. The area hotels were all full so moving wasn’t an option. I would NOT recommend this hotel. There is obviously an active pest problem as evidenced by the mouse trap which is totally unacceptable.

We had a great experience at Holiday inn Express Rocky Hill. This is our second stay. The first being in February 2025 when we came for a UConn game. Andrew Kovac assisted my family when we were making signs for the players and when we needed a location to eat. This past weekend, we returned to Holiday Inn for the Travelers PGA golf tournament. Andrew still manages the Rocky Hill facility and continues to be a hard worker and very accommodating. We will recommend this location to family and friends.

The room we had, which was the accessible room, was really bad. The shower flooded out to the entire bathroom. I understand that they had remodeled to make the bathroom accessible, but it was very poorly done. The closet cabinet blocked the lighting, there was no desk area, and the alcove where the fridge & microwave were shoved could have used a counter, or the room could have been rearranged differently. I was a hotel interior designer in my career years, and this was really bad! Lighting in the room was dreadful. It was all clean, though, so kudos to the staff for that. However, not so great to the manager, who I had requested to repair the safe that wouldn't lock. He came down, but couldn't fix & no one ever made any efforts to remedy that during the rest of our stay.
