For me, I was on a budget, so I am happy to cut some corners. This hotel gave me the most important facilities (comfort, service) and at a good rate. No windows in room, no laundry, no trash can in the room.

Great location, nice older arquitecture, very helpful staff. They had a library. Some issues with toilets, but they found another room for us

I had a great stay. Convenient location, clean premises, quiet, and with functioning air conditioner. The staff is EXCELLENT. No complaint.

I just wish they have breakfast, but you can find a lot places to eat near by.

Hotel Monte Castelo was great! My friend and I went to enjoy Carnaval and the location was perfect. At the beggining of Zona Sul, the hotel was close to Lapa/Centro but also of the zona Sul Beaches and Botafogo and Flamengo neighborhoods. The Subway is just 5min away and during Carnaval we felt really safe in the area. The Staff was nice and friendly and there was always someone at the front desk at all hours of the night. The room was clean and tidy. There are not a lot of common areas or amenities but it didn't bother us as we were out and about most of the time.

Location was excellent. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Although the room was recently renovated and had beautiful tile, the bathroom smells. The bathroom is small, much so the sink is outside the bathroom, it is in the room, beside the bed.
