Santa Maria City Hotel

The Staff are all so professional , helpful and take care of their guests. I was warmly Welcomed by Alex upon entering the hotel. He goes above and beyond for his guest. He takes great pride in his job and it shows by his guests. He is definitely a credit to the Santa Maria Character City Hotel. I have stayed at this establishment many times. Absolutely no complaints. Definitely will be returning in the near future. You definitely won’t be disappointed. No dislikes.

Not clean enough

The hotel is in a great location. Within just a few minutes, you can reach beaches on both sides of the island as well as many excellent places to eat. The staff are very kind and polite, always pleasant to talk to. The view from the room overlooking the city was also quite nice. The hair dryer in my room did not work. I reported this problem to the receptionist, who assured me that it would be checked and replaced, but nothing was done. On the next day, I mentioned the same issue to the cleaning lady, but again no action was taken. Since I was on vacation and went swimming in the sea every day, I naturally had to wash my long hair daily. However, without a working hair dryer, I was unable to dry it even once during my entire stay. In addition, I would like to point out that items such as shampoo and shower gel were provided only once, in the smallest size, upon check-in — and this is actually stated in the hotel’s policy. Another inconvenience was the bed. It was actually a wooden platform with a mattress on top. The mattress itself was comfortable, but it tended to slide around on the platform, which made it less convenient. In addition, the sheet was not secured and often slipped and wrinkled, which was a quite uncomfortable, especially after sunburn. Also, I would like to mention the overall maintenance of the room. While it was generally clean, it did not feel well cared for. For example, the glass shelf in the shower had chipped edges, and some of the metal decorative elements were dirty and looked neglected.

Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi connection in my room (3rd floor) was poor. Also, even though the hotel is generally good, it is overpriced — but that’s the case with pretty much every property on the island.

The bathroom was flooding

Best for value. Excellent location. Very big rooms. Delicious breakfast. They are playing rock and hard rock music around lobby area which is unusual and surprising, we love it :) Nothing

The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bathroom was well equipped and nice. Black dust particles were coming out of the air-conditioning when we turned it on, making a bit of a mess in the room.

Central location and easy to get to, lots of restaurants and shops close by. Staff were really friendly and facilities were clean. The blanket felt a little unclean, still a bit cold for a single sheet. The bathroom is quite modern but the shower screen is a bit small so water was splashing all over the floor and was a bit slippery, might be good to have a bigger floor mat or a squidgy tool to mop up the water.

Excellent greeting in the middle of the night from the night manager on the desk - very pleasant and helpful considering the hour! Room was perfect. Shower was great. Breakfast was fine. All good

The room was not clean and the towels really old. There was a ton of mosquitos, unable to open the door or windows. Having stayed a few times at this hotel the breakfast has gone form hero to zero.

I liked that I was able to check-in late and I was made to feel very welcomed. I liked my comfortable room with a balcony and the nice breakfast they served.

Friendly staff, great location, delicious breakfast. Enjoyed my stay.
