Room wasn't cleaned until three days per rule, we left on fourth day, so skipped housecleaning and room was quite dirty. Small room. Water pressure poor. Staff friendly, nice organization for room, blankets soft, nice bar, fun community area, coffee available, walkable bars in area. Overall great

The lounge and common area is nice. Cozy little spots to chill and mingle. The room was decent, clean, and got the job done. Close to the Fox theater for the show we were seeing. The air conditioner was super loud, sounded like a 10lb hamster running the squeakiest wheel. The decor is a little quirky but I guess that’s its charm. The elevator indicator light is wired wrong on the 7th floor, the opposite side of the elevator opens than what indicated. I actually think this may be intentional as we got a good laugh thinking we were crazy. I could see this being part of the aesthetic. You’re in Oakland.

    Great fun hotel!

Didn’t like much about it. The front desk and security staff were very nice. But that said the hotel is very expensive given how basic the room is. No closet in the room and only about four coat hangers. The hot water in the shower was it best only slightly warm. Terrible food selection at the bar downstairs. But the worst was the horrific location in a very unsafe neighborhood. Extremely unsafe neighborhood with a lot of trash and garbage on the street nearby the hotel.

The room was clean, I guess it’d be hard to not clean a 12x12 room with barely any room. The hotel itself was nice but the area is horrible, I hope you know how to fight vagrants if you want you stay here because you’ll get harassed anywhere you walk around the downtown area. Staff was great once you’re inside and the lobby security is great for someone that can open a door. 0/10 chance I’ll stay here again for the sole purpose of the area is trashed, the areas “residents” are problematic. Keep your belongings tight and maybe take some personal defense classes if you wanna visit Oakland lol

The staff was really terrific. Given the location and a number of homeless people outside and unruly street parties, the staff was courteous and very protective of our car and our persons. They were the only thing that made this stay bearable. The hotel itself is shabby. No storage or closets. The bed was way too hard. The hallways are dark and uninviting.

Stay here if planning to go to First Fridays! I had the best time! First Friday of each month, the whole street starting from right outside the hotel is one big party - live music, drum circles, breakdancing, pop & locking, food stalls, local art, clothing, old school gangster cars… for a tourist from Australia - it was so exciting! This hotel is incredible value compared to nearby San Fran. Brand new hotel, aimed at pleasing a younger demographic. The rooms and bathrooms feel really high end. Bar, workspace, snacks, coffee and filtered water downstairs are handy. Security at front door are lovely, grateful for them after a man tried to follow me in talking to me one night. In saying this, I felt safe as a solo female in the area. The toilet kept getting blocked and the sink drained so slow, must have been a plumbing issue. No toilet brush, had to use a coat hanger to unblock several times. Bar staff seemed tired, hard to get their attention, they also couldn’t offer me a drinks menu when I asked for one, said it was “too busy” that weekend (it was First Fridays and Oakland Pride weekend) so I just pointed at a random beer tap. Weird she couldn’t just show me a menu of what beer/wine etc they had… Coffee downstairs was cold and pretty bad, but it was free so I shouldn’t complain. Don’t buy the yoghurt - it’s $7usd! Crazy for a tiny tub that you can get for $2 at the corner store.

My daughter and I stayed the night after the Jessie Murph concert. Great location!! Only a quick, straight 4 block walk to the venue, which was so nice to not have to get parking. Loved that you had to have a key to use the elevator…made me feel safe and secure.

The staff and bartender were very nice and helpful The A/C fan was way too loud and I couldn't turn it off. Kept me awake. The pillows were feathers and I didn't notice it until I went to bed really late.

Reported crack to toilet seat. Charged $250.

Neighborhood is sketchy- homeless around. The rooms were not well thought out- they hired the wrong interior designer. First, Inlike the concept of hanging print photographs. But the print in at least two rooms I got was a photograph of smoked cigarettes. Yeah, something you want to see above your bed, so romantic- NOT. This is coming from a photographer who’s taught it. No closets, no suitcase stand, bathroom sink was so tiny I almost hit my head on mirror shelf, which didn’t make sense because it was big. Air conditioners non-modifiable in either room. In concept- I wanted to like it. I’m going back to Berkeley this weekend but staying elsewhere.

    Disappointing

Quirky place, had a good vibe. Rooms are great for a weekend stay but wouldn’t do much longer since they are small.
