The location and staff were fantastic, and also absolutely loved our room! The tub was the size of a large jacuzzi, and the were views amazing from every window and even better from the balcony. Truly a memorable experience, celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday and our 34th wedding anniversary. Thank you Palazzo Gattini! N/a

The property was located in a beautiful area of Matera. The views were breathtaking. The hotel itself was perfectly maintained, clean and had the old world charm that can only be found in this ancient city. Truly remarkable.

There was a mix-up with my booking, and I accidentally reserved an additional night. While I didn’t receive a refund, I was offered an upgrade instead, which I appreciated. The room had a beautiful view, but unfortunately, there appeared to be a leak in the ceiling, with visible water damage throughout. There was also a strong smell of humidity. As someone with asthma and allergies, the environment made it difficult to breathe and caused my symptoms to worsen significantly overnight. This was my first trip after having children, and I had been looking forward to it for so long — but unfortunately, the reaction I had completely ruined the rest of my vacation.

A beautiful luxury hotel in the old city. Our room was beautiful and very spacious with a romantic tub, a separate sitting area, and a balcony with chairs and a table for enjoying the fabulous view of the Sasso. The staff was courteous, friendly and very attentive. Would definitely visit again. Given the location, be aware you need to park your vehicle at a sister hotel and take a shuttle into the old city. It was no problem ( just need to call about 20 minutes out.)

Palazzo Gattini is an excellent choice for a stay in Matera. Located at the heart of the old town, in the main Cathedral Square, it is the best place to explore the exquisite city of Matera. Staff is extremely attentive, our room was excellent with a view directly to the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square). Its price is what you would expect from a five-star hotel, but the quality is there. If you can indulge yourself for an unforgettable stay, look no further.

Our stay at Palazzo Gattini in Matera was simply exceptional! The city itself was a delightful surprise, and we enjoyed every moment. The hotel welcomed us with warmth, kindness, and professionalism. The breakfast was fantastic, and we are especially grateful to Clara, who greeted us with a smile every morning. The front desk staff was always helpful, and a special thank you to Carmen, who assisted us with every request. She also recommended Andrea, who gave us a wonderful tuk-tuk tour of the city at sunset. The shuttle service was convenient, and the hotel's location was absolutely perfect, offering easy access to everything. As a five-star hotel, it certainly lived up to its reputation, and we had an amazing time. Highly recommended!
