great hotel to stay at during your time in Matera! It's very accessible and on the flatter part of the city so its comfortable to get to. Parking nearby is easy. The hotel staff were incredible - so friendly, helpful, and really want to make sure you have a good time.

We made the best choice! It was difficult making a choice of hotels, the end we decided on Lo Stemmo because of it’s location near the car garage and its proximity to the main piazza. We were amazed at how perfect this small hotel is. Sparkling clean, views over the Sassi from the terrace, beautifully designed through out. Our room was spacious with a gorgeous ceiling, comfy beds, top of the line linens and towels, plenty of storage and a fantastic shower. Lots of natural light and a nice balcony. And what about the technology - the tv is in the mirror! It has a much appreciated elevator - much needed after walking up and down steps all day. If you are lucky enough to get a room here you will be happy as a clam. Loved every single detail of this booking.

Perfect location, beautifully appointed rooms, incredibly comfortable beds. Worked perfectly for guest who required an elevator. Easy proximity to reserved parking. Nothing.

Spacious room. Very nice bathroom. Good variety of breakfast. Great location - easy to walk around town and from the reserved car park. Super friendly and helpful staff. The best is the view of Matera from the hotel balcony. Would love to come back.

Great location , super close to everything but no need to hike into the Stassi with luggage etc. parking nearby. Staff was very helpful with reservations for dinner and the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Stassi was spectacular. Rooms were quiet and clean and bathroom well stocked with supplies. The facility has an elevator which was very important and also a King sized bed and family area with two twins. Excellent stay Breakfast could go a little later , like 10:30 or so but everything was lovely

Terrific location and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Our room was 24.5 degrees Celsius and we weren’t able to sleep as it was too warm. The hotel is beautifully renovated but the AC comes out of radiators and is too weak so it can’t cool the rooms. We requested another room I was told none were available but I saw one on booking.com It took until 6 pm the second day when we were finally given a second room which was a bit cooler and we appreciated the changeover as we were able to sleep.

The location is ideal, offering stunning views of Matera. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist. The room was clean and decently sized, with a kettle available. However, I was bitten by an insect during the night, which was unfortunate. Also, while the room provided tea and water, there was no coffee, my first time staying in an Italian hotel without it. Overall, a pleasant stay thanks to the location and helpful staff. No coffee available in room minibar.
