Red Roof Inn Lexington South

Location was good - restaurants/coffee/shops all within walking distance. The room was NOT cleaned upon check-in. The bathroom door didn't lock (missing knob on the inside), and the drain to the tub was clogged so a shower turned into a bath within 30 seconds. Room service didn't appear until our 3rd day and most likely only because we asked. We also had to specifically ask them to take the trash and request additional toilet paper and towels.

Older motel, needs some updating, small rooms

The grounds were well maintained, parking was easy and well lit. It was a quiet location. The rooms have been updated. My only complaint is the pillows were very flat and likely just needed replaced. Overall, positive experience and I would stay here again.

This place is disgusting. It was supposed to be a non smoking room but it smelled like somebody has smoked a carton of Marlboro a day in there. Even the bed covers smelled like cigarettes. Never, ever, ever again.

Clean rooms, best room service staff

Overall it was a pleasant stay no frills no trills just a relatively clean , quiet cool place to rest after days of graduations. Busy area close to everything.

Was very clean, room was nice, bed could use a new mattress. It felt like I was going to roll on the mattress, didn't feel level.

I was nervous checkin with a window and couldn’t a as could not hear with a glass and people getting ice and I wonder if this was a safe place to stay with a window.

The room was clearly cleaned and they added some sort of scent so it smelled clean as soon as I walked in!

The property is very well maintained and had a spectacular display of spring bulbs planted. It really looked like a top notch place to stay. The room was updated and extremely clean and well maintained. I didn't have one complaint in that area. The thing that bothered me were the other "guests." I stayed here because it was a reasonable price in my old neighborhood as I was in town visiting family for the day but I didn't realize that this part of Nicholasville Road was a little rough. My first red flag should have been that there was a huge monitor hanging in the office showing about 30 different camera views around the property. Then I noticed there seemed to be a lot of people "staying" there who were probably long time residents. There were a few men who were out regularly pacing the building, standing around smoking, and giving me the eye as I unloaded both when I arrived and when I left. There was a lot of noise from the bypass on and offramps, and there was just a lot of activity that night - people's cars coming and going, a lot of loud talking in the parking lot, people walking back and forth doing laundry, etc. It wasn't a restful night and quite frankly, as a woman, I didn't feel very safe. It was the first time I put a chair in front of my door. I got through the night at a budget price, but I won't be staying there again.

My husband was a little upset when we pulled into the parking lot, and he realized I had booked a Red Roof Inn. Neither of us likes motels as we don't feel completely safe, and we do not feel they are always clean. However, this was a last-minute trip, and I needed to find a place, and everything else was booked, or they raised their prices due to events in town. However, this place was different. The price was great, and the room was extremely clean. My husband likes to take a black light to hotels, lol. Even though it was a motel, we were very satisfied with our stay. I have to say this place was cleaner than a lot of expensive hotels we have stayed in. We will be back!
