Enjoyed our stay at this lovely b&b. Owners are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good too.

The Brown Street Inn was charming, and our hostess Sue was wonderful. Breakfasts were amazing both days we were there, and Sue is a wonderful hostess who made our stay extra special. My wife and I were there with my oldest friend and his partner, and we all had the best time. Thanks!

Doug and his wife did an excellent job of catering to what ever we needed.

Felt like staying at a family home.

Historic setting

Christine and Doug are passionate owners!

Nice historic part of town with cobblestone streets. 20 minute walk to downtown and University campus. Plenty of parking. Being located in a hilly area of town, expect a little uphill traveling if walking. Nice house, pleasant hosts.

I wish we had found Brown Street Inn Freshman year! The home and neighborhood are so charming and easily walkable to downtown Iowa City (15 minutes). Our room was adorable, clean and comfortable with an in room bath. Christine and Doug were gracious hosts and the breakfast, served 8-10 am, is all homemade and delicious! This stay was super relaxed and well worth the price - we will definitely stay again.

It was beautiful and the owners are lovely

We were greeted by name by the owners and showed to our room, which was as cozy as it looked in the photos. The bed was incredibly comfortable, as was the temperature of the room. Despite being on vacation, I also really appreciated being able to log into our Netflix account with Roku to settle in for the night. Breakfast was amazing, and as a person with Celiac Disease it was amazing to have an entire breakfast full of gluten free options for the two of us, and not feeling like I had to inspect my food or ask to be absolutely sure it was safe, a rarity with a serious dietary restriction. Sitting on the porch in the early morning to enjoy the homemade foods and relax was the perfect way to wrap up our overnight stay. Could not recommend this property and the owners more. We loved our stay and would be more than happy to return in the future.

The bedroom was very comfortable. The breakfast was scrumptious! The hosts were so lovely! Their home was beautiful and all the art on the walls was so enjoyable.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. I called because I was coming in later than planned. It was no problem for Mark. He gave me a map of the area which really helped. I grew up with farm cats. I liked their outdoor cat. My room was clean, the bed very comfortable. The gluten-free and lactose-free breakfast was delicious, The scrambled eggs, toast, fresh fruit, orange juice, and "milk" gave me a great start to my day. Conversation with other guests around the table was an added bonus.

We were delighted with our stay at Brown Street Inn. The hosts were so charming and welcoming and they maintain a beautiful inn—the breakfasts were delicious, cookies were a lovely touch and we really enjoyed sitting on the patio and looking at the beautiful historic neighborhood. The inn was located very near downtown and the university—we walked to lunch and dinner each day. And the bed was wonderfully comfortable! We will absolutely return!
