    Over all it was a great experience even though it was only for one night. The property looked great, clean and the guys at the front desk were amazing, super friendly and always smiling. The only observation that I have is with the Valet’s crew, they were a bit rude in a sense that they never approached the car, might not be a rule that you guys implement but in other places they tend to approach the car and ask if you are checking in or not. They are the first point of contact so they should be more careful.

    Great room but one of the outlets were broken so none of the lights would turn on for half the room. Bathrooms are a little smaller than I expected and the lighting is a little dark. The room itself was great clean and nicely decorated. Friendly and attentive staff food at the restaurants was good as well.

    The shower was awful, every time someone took a shower, the restroom flooded, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, they need to fix the shower in the room we stayed in and I found out they gave us a handicap room, no one was handicap in our group!!

    The place is clean and updated well. I like hard flooring surfaces. The bath tub is a bit small / cramped. Bathroom fixtures are not tighten down and sink detached from wall. AC is loud and we can hear siren and other city noises. The mini fridge sounds like a water fall so we unplugged it. We had 2 bathrooms so that’s handy and room was big. Wish they have queen beds. Gym has good equipment and pool is a nice touch. Didn’t eat at the restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful.

    The stay was great only downfall was room was not cold. AC did not cool the room . My husband and I ended up moving the mattress to the floor so the air that was coming out could keep us cool.

    Front desk & housekeeping are wonderful people. If you’re looking for a Small double room antique area this place is it. Now to be honest the room floors were sticky and left beer bottle was in the room. The shower drain did Not drain properly your standing in pool of water. Double beds are also smaller size, not for 2 regular size people. The front door facing hall was raised higher than normal, felt creepy anyone could place fingers under door, (Camera etc) and Wrong Name greetings on the tv.

    Really nice stay, only thing was there were quite a few gnats around the dining area on the 2nd floor, found an unusual bug in our room on the window as well. Other than that, no complaints; breakfast was good, staff was awesome!

    The staff was top knotch, the property is older, and you can tell. Paying $50 a night for parking without a choice is outrageous!! I was VERY disappointed that I let the hotel know ahead of time that this was our anniversary trip and nothing was done. The hotel acknowledged my message, so they were aware, but nothing, not even a "happy anniversary" was said. Honestly, the staff saved this hotel from being a "no go zone" for me. The restaurant is only open at certain hours, the outside bar was never open and the coffee bar was never open. I don't believe this hotel is worth the money.

    Everything was going well.Everything was great there till the end. We did everything there from eat 2 happy hour. The majority of our money was spent there.However, when we came back to our room, it was leaking water.And when we tried to call the front desk downstairs, she hung apart the phone in our faces twice. excuse was that she was trying to help another customer, which is fine.That's when you tell someone to please hold to kind of ruin the whole experience for us .

    The location was ideal for us, the room was clean and comfortable, but a little dated and lacked some maintenance -i.e some electrical outlets did not work. We did not have opportunity to use the amenities. We were not aware of the valet parking system and found it expensive and not very effective

    This property is extremely outdated and in need of significant updates. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful throughout my stay. The breakfast was disappointing and far below expectations. Overall, it seems like this place has not been properly inspected or maintained in quite some time.

    This was a nice hotel, not to far from where we were going and the staff was very friendly. Bed was a little smaller then I thought, but overall a nice hotel. I would definitely stay there again, if I needed a hotel in the downtown area.

    Some maintenance issues, but nothing major. Seems like it was once a nice hotel. The walk to the pool was a little weird. Mold in the shower. Housekeeping seems pressured to complete in a short period of time, they are very nice, but seem rushed. They provide soaps in bottles in the shower, that remained empty throughout stay. Parking. Is $50 a day. Don’t rely on the shuttle. It won’t take you where you want to go.

    I can’t speak to the suites, but the standard room was very underwhelming for the price. Over $200 per night and Furniture, walls and doors were excessively scratched and worn, there were stains on the curtains and walls and there was hair in some of the towels. Plus additional charge for parking. Lobby is nice and overall stay was fairly quiet. The food at Edgar’s Hermann was good, a little on the bland side, but the coffee was EXCELLENT.

    All the staff I encountered were very helpful and kind especially Ana The hotel property itself was very pretty and peaceful but the room we were in you could smell mold, but it wasn’t as bad when you turned on the AC it definitely needed a paint job there a little rust in the shower it was a pretty quiet place considering there was a volleyball tournament and the players and staff were staying there. I didn’t get to have breakfast or use the drink voucher because I was only there for one and a half nights for a conference, other than the room, needing some touchup paint. It’s a beautiful place. I would recommend it and go again.

    The Whitehall is a great location in Downtown Houston with plenty of restaurants and parking garages near by. Prices are good. The hotel does show its age and some wear tear in through out the hotel and rooms. You can hear the noise from the freeway at night.

    A bit noisy the walls are very thin we heard children running up and down the hallway all throughout the night. The parking prices are fees are ridiculous. Upon check in I wasn’t greeted or welcomed, the night staff was much nicer. The bar/restaurant was nice with friendly workers, rooms are nice and clean. I probably wouldn’t book here again on my next trip here.

    Breakfast was amazing. Really good quality of food taste wonderful from the restaurant, but the bedrooms were definitely a two star. The furniture had nicks on it. The showers were not clean to perfection. The rooms had two tone paints on. It just looked like they covered up things that were damaged.

    Great hotel located downtown close to all west Dallas for easy access to midtown. Breakfast is delicious and the supper is great too with wonderful room service. The staff is warm and welcoming. The room was nice and clean and made a cozy one day stay.

    Check-in wasn’t great. I had to call to someone from the back after a couple minutes and then wait for her to get off her cell phone. I had a question about the cafe (which is just their bar/restaurant), but she seemed in a hurry as others were waiting too. Then I - along with about 10 guests- waited for five minutes for an elevator to reach the lobby. Guests said this was happening a lot (it was my only time). Finally the shower in my room didn’t drain properly, so I was standing in water. Overall, disappointing and overpriced in my mind

    The "presidential suite" was disgusting. The bahtroom tiles were all cracked and some paint or something olds residue was on it I can suppoly pictures and the valet was rude. Also restaurant was closed when needed. Wont book here again.

    The room was run down and the $75 nightly deposit was shocking. The place looks nice on the outside and have a nice outside bar but the room was dusty and had hair everywhere . I requested the room to be cleaned after two days and they never came. Bathroom is extremely small. They need to renovate everything.

    Check-in was quick but cold and unprofessional. The room looked fine at first, but a closer inspection revealed stains on the toilet, mold on the curtains, a foul-smelling carpet, and missing essentials like shower gel and toilet paper. The room phone didn’t work, requests were ignored, and we had to go to the lobby ourselves. The lockbox was broken, the TV remote had no batteries, and the A/C drains into the shower, dripping water while you bathe. The shuttle service is misleading and unacceptable. It does not allow people with diverse disabilities, is not ADA-compliant, does not allow service animals, pets, or even families with children, only adults. It only runs within 1 mile, forcing you to walk the rest, and operates strictly on the hour with zero flexibility. Pickup never happened despite repeated calls. Staff showed no accountability. Housekeeping failed to restock basics, and requests were ignored. We ended up buying essentials ourselves. This hotel is poorly maintained, poorly managed, and falsely advertised. Do not fall into this tourist trap. I would not recommend it and would have preferred a full refund.

    Charged $50/day for parking just to stay in a room that was borderline uninhabitable. No fridge, loose jagged bathtub tiles (actual safety hazard), mold that looked painted over, and filthy, smelly carpet. Hotel was “full,” so staff did nothing. No fix, no relocation, no accountability—just excuses because we booked third-party. You’re not paying for a stay here—you’re taking a risk. Avoid.

    Be aware : the coffee shop advertised on thei own website is closed and never opens . The bar/breakfast/lunch/dinner is at the same one single location and coffee is NOT available until 7:30. Plus they are closed between 2-4 daily ! Nothing around the hotel for amenities or anything ! Overall : this is a place needing major overhaul & training of reception staff - who is clueless on how to run a hotel !

    Location and property were super nice Shower wasn’t draining was overflowing with water called to front desk sent maintenance to try and fix and said that it was a problem underneath the shower they couldn’t get to at the moment and left me in the same room ….woke up the day of checkout to find a roach crawling on the restroom sink…also I picked to have my room cleaned came back from destinations with the family only to find my room still not cleaned

    The location is great! The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Service in the restaurant is excellent. The only thing to complain about is the slower than slow. It’s not that bad unless you’re arriving or departing and unable to take the stairs. We will stay there again and recommend it. You won’t see the great price anywhere near downtown!

    Hotel is beautiful. Front desk staff exceptional! Valet very nice. Room was spacious, clean. Bed very comfortable. Only issue was the restaurants. Bayou coffee didn't open at 7am as advertised. Part and Parcel had bar seating and table seating but you had to go to the bar to order. Edgar's Hermanos restaurant also had to order at bar. No table staff. I would have thought beautiful hotel would have a restaurant with someone who came to the table to take your order and check on you periodically. Made ordering more drinks ackward, so I didn’t. Had to stand at bar to close out tab.

    The location is phenomenal and convenient. Some staff were as helpful as they are trained to be. Housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. Checking in the front desk attendant looked irritated we had our pet. She put us on thee ninth floor(our view of downtown Houston was nice) next door to the elevator then proceeded to ask, you're not leaving her alone right? Maybe I was wrong to assume that a family friendly hotel is exactly that. There are no microwaves (1st floor one is available) and or refrigerators in the rooms. We were not informed our room phone did not work. She had a lot of information to tell me but that. Half of our channels didn't work. Keurig was dusty. Glad my instinct lead me clean before truly settling down.There were a lot of little inconveniences that made it a bit more annoying as a family traveling. I did enjoy thee art on the walls. My personal experience and opinion I would not recommend it for families. I would not stay again.

    Once you venture past the Lobby and reception areas, the hotel was generally all very tired and a bit scruffy.     We loved the guy who checked us in, the location, and the Mexican Restaurant on site. The room was EXTREMELY overpriced. All the furniture in the room was very old, faded wood, bathrooms were very small, I saw someone else's hair in the shower, cheap 1 ply toilet paper, the room had a smell, the ac/heater seemed to not work correctly so we were cold and there were no extra blankets. I requested extra pillows and towels pre checkin that were not in the room, and the bed was sunken in the middle, extremely uncomfortable including the pillows. I woke up feeling like my back was broken. And the tv kept freezing and wifi kept going in and out.

    Hotel lobby was really nice, staff warm and inviting. Rooms need updating however, clean for the most part. Location was great! Within walking distance to Houston Rockets games. We caught a game the night we flew in walked right to the arena didn't have to worry about traffic, parking or uber cost. Mall was a short Uber away. Plenty of food and bars within walking distance. I would definitely book another stay in the future.

    The Greeter John was tremendous, very nice and welcomed us with open arms. My only complaint is the Hotel is a little outdated, needs to be upgraded immediately.     The Whitehall was an amazing place to stay. My daughter doesn't live far from the hotel, so it worked out perfectly for us when we needed to meet up. Above all, the staff from the front desk to the restaurant where absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure i had what i needed and was comfortable. Considering I was there the weekend of the snow storm and they were short staffed, I would have definitely understood if they didn't meet the mark, but they did. Great job to everyone!

    The rooms, elevators and hallways are very outdated. The only thing was updated was the lobby and that’s how they get you. Someone put a blue ink were you open the refrigerator(black) and it got over every. U can tell it was put there on purpose. It was only in that spot no other place. Rm 501 needs to be done.

    My first room had a leak and the shower looked a little old, but when I was moved to a new room, that room was clean. I enjoyed my dinner and lunch at Edgar's Hermano. The location was convenient for the purpose of my trip. They were efficient with morning wake up calls. John and Shirley were delightful. They made my check in smooth and facilitated a quick room change once I noticed the leak. I would definitely stay at the Whitehall again.

    The hotel lobby is beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms and hallways need som serious TLC. I have stayed in 2 and 3 star hotels with nice rooms. The floors are ripped up and chipped, the bathroom is a bit dirty and unappealing and the halls/rooms smell musty and old. If everything was as beautiful as the lobby and elevators, this hotel would be what you expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. With the condition of the rooms, I would give this a 1-2 star. Just not what you expect when paying $300/night CAD.

    The staff, especially the front desk was very polite and accommodating, making the first impression of the hotel great. The first impression of the room was not good; it was dirty and a lot of stains everywhere including makeup stains on the window when we open the blinds to see the view. Also, the hot water was not working so we had to call down to get another room. Again, the front desk was very nice and accommodating and made it happen quickly. The next room was better however the cleaning staff must have forgotten to flush the toilet after use so again the first impressions on the cleanliness of the rooms should really be addressed. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with the staff but probably won't be back based on cleanliness of rooms.

    Stayed in a deluxe king. Would recommend for size. Hotel is charming. We didn't have any issues finding coffee in the morning and felt quiet. The window shades kept the sun out. Only one night of restless sleep being that its downtown Houston...overall quiet. Pool was nice little relaxing spot. Service in restaurant was nice.

    My stay was amazing with such beautiful and spacious rooms! I loved how the hotel reached out to me before my stay and offered upgrades.     The hotel has great food/beverage options. The Buffalo Bayou coffee shop was simply awesome. The customer service was excellent. The hotel is also in close proximity to the baseball arena as well as other restaurants. It was very easy to get around.

    Hands down one of the best experiences I have had with a hotel. John, Kelvin, Sal and so many more made our stay absolutely memorable.     So cute and clean, older hotel but it’s being kept up best as possible. I could see some wallpaper coming up and some paint needed but that’s truly just visual quality. Staff was nice and valet was quick. This place is central and an easy uber to bars in main st and restaurants! Seemed really quiet and safe, pool was nice and I love the caramella latte from the buffalo bayou!

    My husband and I spent 2 nights here for the Breezy bowl and I moved the staff they were so nice and they explained everything to me with no problem. We had to get use to the valet parking since there’s no self parking but with a hotel as nice as this I’m not even mad at it! We were on the 12th floor and enjoyed the view of the city. We will definitely be staying here again!

    The beds here are really comfortable, and the location is just right—super convenient and close to everything. It’s near the Astros stadium, which was a big plus for me.     The hotel is in a great location for Astros baseball, clubs and bars on Main Street, and downtown nightlife. It’s an old hotel. The furniture in my room was old and scratched, the faux tile floors were peeling and had pieces missing. A few of the furniture handles were bent and discolored. The floor molding in the restroom looked like a dog chewed on it.

    Our room was not up to 4 star standards. The furniture was not kept up, neither was the bathroom. We needed to be moved to another room that also had chipped furniture and was dusty. I did share my concerns with the front desk staff. I see this as a 3 star. However, I would say the lounge area on the 1st floor was nice.

    I want to first start off by saying my overall stay (from Thursday, July 24, 2025 - Sunday, July 27, 2025) was great up until the last night of my trip. I started in Room 614. Early Sunday morning, I arrived at my room around 1:00am, noticed Sulfur/rotten egg smell around 1:30am then cut off unit in the room at 1:33am. Called maintenance and he arrived saying that the smell was throughout the hotel but when we came in the hallway then went downstairs to the lobby, we no longer smelled the Sulfur/rotten egg smell. Front desk claimed the smell was in other areas of the hotel then proceeded to put us in another room, 701, which I appreciated. The next morning the same front desk clerk changed her story to say that no other room had that issue but us and that they unclogged the drain on the 7th floor so the smell might have come from that. Smelling Sulfur like that in a room is VERY serious and I felt like maintenance, along with the front desk clerk did not take it as seriously, which is concerning. Hopefully with this review, someone will do some further investigation on what was causing the smell and not put another guest in that room until it's resolved.

    We booked this hotel because it was a 4 star and looked nice, but this hotel is a polished turd. They have made it look nice outside and in the lobby- but the rooms are sad. Old and everything is beginning to crack and warp. Crusty. I’ve stayed at nicer holiday inns than this place.. and to add, the AC was out almost our entire stay and they did nothing to compensate us. Stay somewhere else.
