I like the location of this Palace Inn on Jones near 290. Very well taken care of location. Not lots of traffic and peaceful area. I got donuts for breakfast at Shipley’s next door and got coffee from the gas station. I would recommend this location.

It was clean, good location for my visit and good price. Parking was easy. It could of had a blanket. It could of had a small lamp by the bed and not only the overhead bright lighting. So the room was bright light or pitch dark. I did not see a coffee maker.

Terrible older area. Beds were stained with what appeared as old urine and blood. Rooms appear clean but are very dirty.

The internet and parking was good. However, there was a long straight hair on the bed underneath the cover, unfortunately the fridge wasn't working, and there wasn't a iron and ironing board. However, I did get accommodated with a another fidge.and and with a iron and ironing board.

Yes the room was spotless and the people were friendly.

Vick was nothing but hospitable and polite. He was very informative and helpful in anything I needed. The room was spacious and clean and it felt like I was in an apartment to be honest. Definitely coming back again! Will recommend the Palace Inn to my family and friends and another plus is that it is located near a gas station, shopping center, and restaurants.

My go to stop when in the area, Stayed one night, Proprietor is very accommodating as I always need a ground floor room due to my disability.

Room smelled of cigs and our door barely worked. But besides that it was a decent room.

It was a convenient stop and only $60. Had hair left in the sink, piss on the toilet and ? water splashes under the toilet seat.

I been staying at this hotel for 3 months and it is the best palace inn I ever got a room at. Vick was very hospitable and have very affordable weekly rates. Clean and family oriented.

New building. Comfortable beds. Clean room. Large TV with with Direct TV. Refrigerator, microwave. Mouthwash, toothbrush, soap, shampoo. We could have used more towels, but we didn't ask for more. They were not supposed to have breakfast, but they tried a tiny bit. One pot of coffee. A couple sweet rolls. Apples. The dining area has two chairs. I liked them trying to change, but they aren't there yet. It seemed that they need more soundproofing. Noise from the floor above us.

Decent place for your bucks!

I liked the rate of the room & that the room was clean. There wasn't an elevator & the stairs are at the end of a hall, in a dark corner. I did not feel safe at all when I had to drag my suitcase up the stairs with limited mobility.

I have been staying at this property for years. It is family safe with walking distance from many restaurants as well to easy commute access to main freeway. Rooms are spacious with each having AC. You have microwave and fridge in rooms and beds are comfortable. I recommend to anyone single or with family to stay at this hotel. It is very affortable and safe if you come with children. Plus is very quiet so you will have a peaceful night.

Only stay here if you have no other choice, there’s always something wrong with something, a/c doesn’t work, refrigerator doesn’t work, it’s ridiculous. I won’t be coming back here

Like the fact it was a quiet place, yes there is a plaza with restaurants and shops, even a food court next door but it still seems very quiet. There isn't anything I would say I didn't like. The stay was enjoyed to the fullest for what the room was offering.

Once again, a pleasant and comfortable stay...no unresolved issues or negative happenings to speak of..Vic and staff are always on call if something does need attention to be rectified..A nice home away from home experience.

For one, I didn't like the bland feel of the main room. For some reason, the main room just felt a little bland, like something was missing to make it pop. The TV wasn't really good quality, then again I suppose I can't expect a QLED or OLED TV in a cheaper hotel, but I digress. I also felt the bed was a little stiff, not to bad for me but may be a problem for others.

Location ..able to walk to anyplace I have desired,from grocery stores to shopping strips to parks and library. The place is kept clean,the room as well as the grounds. It's quiet and being a female,a safe and secure feeling to stay . Front desk Vic is always with a smile and accommodating anytime a request is asked of him. Will definitely come back for a stay

The property is in an excellent location and very accessible to many ventures..I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the front desk personell Victor for once again being sympathetic to adverse actions that occurred and the willingness to work with me on my resolution..it made everything more comfortable for me and put my mind at ease..always a clean room for the last few days and the quiet and comfort were a God send..I would recommend this place to everyone.

The grab and go breakfast was a small orange juice, granola bar, store bought muffins and coffee. The bedroom was large and a big bed without blankets. The issue I had was the water, the water pressure was always low and limited basic toiletries. The was cleaned each day.

The owner of the hotel was very kind and accomodating! Online, it said they served breakfast, but when I got there, I was told they didn't. That was a little disappointing, but the owner saw that I was disappointed and went out of his way to go get the little packages of donuts and pastries for me the next morning!! Super thoughtful! Room was pretty clean and comfy! Definitely recommend staying there!

The A/C in the room didn't cool very well and it felt humid in there the whole night. There were holes in the bedspread and a long hair in the sink. I won't stay here again.

This location is very centrally located for the type of errands I needed to make during my time at Palace Inn. I also loved the cleanliness that you don’t find at most motels. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I stayed for about a month and it was relatively quiet. No sketchy people hanging around which was a plus for someone who is a single woman. The front desk manager was very accommodating also regarding all of my needs. A very nice and pleasant stay overall. I will return in the future.

Found this place last minute for my nephews graduation n was better than expected. Clean, management was attentive to requests, plenty of options on places to eat as well. I'd stay here again.

I got a non smoking room but it still smell like smoke to the point you can feel the itch on your throat i advised them of my boys having asthma and that I couldn’t stay there they didn’t want to reimburse they just said i can get change to another room but the new room still had the stink but not as much as the first one. The service is okay not bad and there’s no breakfast how they say it’s just coffee, fruit and granola bars

There are a lot of options for eating to include a food truck park next door. It was super convenient that there is a gas station next door as well with 24/7 access. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. If we ever come back to Houston, we will stay at this property. No doubt about it.

The stay was really good. The front desk was very nice and helpful. The room was nice, it could've been cleaned a little bit better but nothing to fuss about. Only bad thing was need a new shower head. The one we have doesn't spray straight. Everything else is cool.

Stayed March 5th 2025 but have stayed many times over the last year or so, this place is convenient and affordable for when I have business in the area, owner obliges me with a downstairs room due to a slight disability. Also like being able to walk to the food truck park next door.

This was a last minute stay in Houston for my last night. It was located somewhere different than I actually had thoughts on the map but was worth a 20 minute drive away. It was clean. Staff was readily there to assist easy parking unit just as I requested very, very clean and upgraded, I will be returning anytime. I’m in Houston. It was very satisfying to stay in a clean place for the night. The only thing was the bed I was sleeping in I believe the platform the mattress was on was loose otherwise very good stay.

It was close to a gas station and some fast food places. The only issues was the gap all around the door and you could hear the train and highway. It's a okay place if you need to stop for one night.

Personally, Palace Inn 290 & Jones Rd truly exemplifies excellence in hospitality by offering personalized services, outstanding amenities, and a commitment to guest satisfaction that truly defines a five-star experience.

The night manager was rude. She had such a thick accent that made it very hard to understand her questions. When stated "i don't understand you and your question ", she would ask the same question faster and in a louder voice. They also did not have any hand towels to use. At least I had a wash cloth and a bath towel. The year before when I stayed at this same hotel, it was a much better experience.

It's a great hotel which is managed with care. I've come here off & on for about 6 years with an overall 5 Star approval.

You do get free breakfast. Includes drinks coffee and milk etc ..

My wife and I have been here 4 times for "date night" to get away and spend some quality time together. Victor is the property manager and is very nice and enjoyable to talk to. The property is very clean and maintained and up to date. The rooms are spotless and very clean, including the bathroom. We like there is a microwave and small fridge because we usually bring our own food so we don't have to leave the hotel. ;^)

Tv remote was missing from room, I had to ask front desk for one. Other then that the stay was decent.

I felt that they had left the bed sheet to see if the next customer complains or not. If they do, they come and change it. Breakfast had very limited options. Good stay for a weekend, needs remodeling and better customer service

The only complaint: The electronic lock on our door kept going out and thus our key cards would not work. Therefore, we would have to go get the caretakers to get into our room.

My second time stayig at this property, nice rooms, there is the occasional train noise but not too bad, Taco truck area next door, Breakfast is very limited but I have never gotten up early enough to use it, only issue I had this time was that the TV worked but had connection isses so unable to view anything.

I stayed at another Palace Inn with very professional staff and clean rooms, so I assumed the same would be true here. No. We requested another room since our first looked like a fight scene, and staff moved us to a second room that was still not cleaned properly. Hole in bathroom door, makeup and hair on towels, grease on bed board, makeup smudged on door, stained sheets and mattress, etc. Staff was only worried about denying me a refund and telling me not to book through Hotels.com again. Luckily, through Hotels.com I was givenOneKeyCash to book somewhere else.

The manager, Vic, is the type I would have as a friend if circumstances were different & I didn't meet him as a customer. This hotel seems to have things together. I know other hotels of very equivalent prices without even a washer & dryer. I happy to have this hotel as a go-back-to place to enjoy peace & accommodation.

All was good, only stayed for one night, breakfast is nothing more than a coffee and a piece of fruit but I wasn't there for the breakfast, 6 digit WiFi number they gave me didn't work, so as it was basic I tried another two digits and it worked.

The office lady was so unprofesional without any smile. We booked 2 queen bed room. She first gave us a 1 queen bed room, we had to move our luggages to another room. Then she said this is a wrong room with the suite and we had to move our luggages to the third room. The third room key didn't work. I went to the office to see what the issue was. She was so mad that she toss it back to me. Never seen this kind of front desk people like her and she will make this hotel closed out.
