If you expect value at this price point, don’t! I gave it a go. I’ll stick around 150/night. This hotel smells like urine. Rust everywhere. There was remodeling happening on one of the floors. Only one elevator worked. Although there was never enough foot traffic to cause delay. When you think of run down, Think of this hotel. And what was that white stuff on the couch. Yuck.

Alazia Bufford thats my name Stayed 3/13-16th Nobody came to clean up rooms Overall it look abandoned and staff was nice but hotel was a flop
- 1/5
Hotel was poorly maintained, dirty and had a bad smell. Conditions worsened through the elevator and hallway as we made it to our room. As soon as we entered we noticed several cockroaches! We immediately left and requested a refund and the person at the counter said they were aware but the roaches were only confined to a couple rooms. I have yet to receive an email confirming refund was issued

Hotel was the worst I ever stayed in...the room smells bad very outdated & not clean I will never stay here again looks nothing like the pictures they portray online

Super friendly staff. Hotel just needs some me work in terms of cleanliness and appeal. Maybe fresh paint. And new carpet would be a perfect stay.

3.5 stars the hotel. This hotel is under new management, so in the 2 weeks of them owning it, they did a nice job. I think there were some parts about the stay that made me give it 3.5. But the amazing service gets a 4. They were very accommodating our first night, helped us out. Pool is closed, but they are fixing it. They said they have big plans for it, so i’m excited to see how far they go with it. Standard brekkie, but saved the day. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you and good luck to the new management.

Roaches ! There was a dead roach in the bathroom and then baby roaches crawling on the toilet and the floor. The grounds of the hotel very neglected there was trash in the lobby. I showered with my socks on because the shower didn’t look clean.
- 2/5
Room had too many issues, needs upgrade for sure
- 3/5
The Hotel needs some work. Only one elevator working . The one working was scary . A lot of screaching and bumping while getting up. The room was ok. Staff was friendly. Many guests were asking for sugar at breakfast time only to find out that there was only sweetener.
- 2/5
The elevator makes scary sounds and struggles. The fridge didn’t work either
- 1/5
it was ok i guess i was there 5 days and housekeeping never came to clean my room and that would explain all the roaches
- 1/5
My daughter was bitten by bed bugs during the stay. I informed the hotel and they didn’t respond,
- 3/5
Hotel is older but has had a cosmetic facelift. However the water in the bath took more than five minutes to heat up and then it was too hot or too cold so I think they need new fixtures. Also there was only one elevator working so it took a good couple of minutes of waiting. Bed and pillows were comfy and room was clean.
- 3/5
My husband has a meeting with someone and they wanted to charge $100 extra for a private room. Make sure you ask for towels before you enter your room.
- 2/5
Front desk staff was great; the rest just stirred at you the whole time. Room was not ideal at all.
- 1/5
The worst place to stay. The whole hotel smells like cannabis, there are bedbugs in the beds, and the furniture is broken. I went in and left immediately. This place should be shut down.
- 2/5
I should have read the reviews. 1st room we were in smelled so bad. They had air fresheners everywhere. Tv didn’t work, asked to change rooms, they accommodated us and the room was better. No smell but roaches. Tv didn’t work but the Room seamed clean though. Did not use the indoor pool, a film was on it and eyes burned with the bleach smell when entering the room. The breakfast area has pest control plug ins ON the counter of breakfast area . With signs everywhere telling you Not to take food to your room or they would charge you $25! Tables weren’t kept clean at all. However the front desk staff were apologetic and nice.
- 1/5
The hotel is dirty and in very rough condition. It needs to be renovated.
- 1/5
Hotel is a dump. The rooms should not be priced at the rate they are. There was no hot water and we had to take a cold shower. I do not recommend this establishment. They need major renovations.

Best ever

Breakfast!!!! Staff!!!!! Clean room!!!!!! Clean property!!!!!!! Definitely worth it!!!!!!

Okay for price
- 2/5
I would not stay at this location again. The property, amenities, and food did not live up to the Wingate name. The elevator was frightening to ride, the property was run down. The continental breakfast was bad for what it’s supposed to be. Eggs tasted like plastic, the coffee tasted recycled. If you wanted to take food to your room to eat, there is a $25 charge added to your room. There was a bug in the bed and the carpet felt moist. Not good overall.
- 1/5
The red flag we should have picked up on was my husband had asked to use the restroom to which the front desk handed him a key to unlock the door. Lobby restrooms normally do not need. We left without checking out the room thinking all would be fine to go have dinner. Upon return at 11:30, the parking lot was busy, a lot of loitering, and a huge stench of weed in the air. The entrance doors were locked and our room key did not work to open the doors. The front desk could be seen sitting but was inattentive to the door. There was a push button we used to get buzzed in. We got into our room and it smelled so bad, the carpet was sticky and the sheets had stains (clean but stained). On one bed it had blood stained dots and the other bed had blue stains on it (maybe cleaner). The bathtub was patched up, holes in door and dirty walls. We could not sleep. We checked out in the morning. I get that the property likely is under renovation and I’d like to give them a higher rating but overall the surrounding area needs a major sweep of the lively after hour activity and a total restoration of the rooms.
- 4/5
Lemon water was awful at night
- 5/5
Good energy love the place will be back real real soon
- 2/5
Had a problem with our door and it took over 30 minutes for them to get it open with all of our belongings inside. She wasn’t very nice about it and we didn’t even get an apology
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Slow Check Out. Room had an Mildew odor
- 3/5
The staff was very kind. The lobby area is clean and decorated with beautiful eastern theme. The property has condition issues. One elevator broken, the other one sounds rough. The breakfast is not fresh looking fruit, make ur own waffles or cereal, and the one toaster only works on one side. The pool is indoor and the smell is very strong. The jacuzzi attached to the pool is not heated. We did not use them. The bed linens had stains on them, blood splatters, were clean, but stained. There is broken globes on outdoor lamps and evidence of unhoused people living in the bushes next to the parking area. No one bothered my rental car or approached me, however. An acrid smell was very strong in the hallway near my room, could be weed, could’ve been mold, but it hurt my lungs to breathe and I’m a smoker. It may just be the area we were staying, I realize Houston has endured troubled times with recent floods and such, we left 10 years ago, but we needed to stay in this area and it is heartbreaking to see things deteriorate as they have. I do believe, however, the staff is doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Property owner should have a closer look at some needed updates and repairs.

While checking in, another customer had a verbal altercation with one of the hotel’s staff at the front desk. It was very unprofessional and the staff member was horrible to the hotel guest. The hotel was dingy and not very clean. I do not recommend staying here.
- 5/5
It was a great experience for me I will be going back.. Took my son to visit his friends Texas.. And most of all it was very affordable.... Win win
- 5/5
Close to the mall and food places

Booked here for the location and indoor pool and hottub for a relaxing vacation near old friends i haven't seen in a few years, the hotel was clost to where they live, had the pool and hot tub i was looking for, got there and the indoor pool and hot tub were both ice cold, the tile floors where sticky, the breakfast was horrible, the parking lot lights were so bright they shined through the curtains, only positive about that is you could see the people selling things in the parkinglot to ensure they were not also breaking into your car... and on my last day when i was gathering my things i seen roachs near the bed and bath tub
- 1/5
Elevator sounded like its gonna fall and people screaming and talking loud in room and very dirty room with stain of blood on sheets too. I checked out and got another hotel right away
- 1/5
The property is in desperate need of a deep cleaning and upgrades. The front desk has been turned into a market. The carpets are in terrible condition, and the walls need professional paint jobs.
- 1/5
Terrible place, needs major repairs!
- 3/5
It was good enough, and close to my destination.

The pictures of this place are more than 5 years old. It's all lies. Doors open and you're greeted with marijuana odor. One elevator is completely broken down the other one barely works. It gets hung up on the 2nd floor. The front desk person has to go up the stairs and ride the elevator down from the second floor. They had to do that three times on my first day here. And when going UP, The brakes vibrate for the last 6 seconds and it's very scary. The first room that put me in had a broken, loud AC unit and the room was 85.3 degrees. After bickering back and forth, they finally moved me to a better room. I simply asked for grab bars in the bathroom and a cold room. I got no grab bars in 2nd room. Stains on sheets, bottom sheet/mattress cover has lots of slices in it. The carpeted area has a LOT of different elevations. The hallways are HOT and the Ice machine, omg. It's terrible. More Pictures are coming. Oh and the "Business Center" no longer exists. It is now the owner's spa. Pool is "available" when the front desk opens it for you. But don't expect extra towels. They don't give extra towels. And the hot tub was "broken". There's a Red Tag from Houston Fire Department on the main entry doors. Something about the sprinkler system. And the other doors don't work with the key cards. Only the main entry. Just don't.

Better owners

I booked two nights at this property and left after the first night. It was extremely dirty- the couch, the bed, the carpets, the hallways, etc. I attempted to get a refund from the hotel for the second night and they did not give it to me. Do not stay here. The pool was also not working which I was not informed of before and the TV didn't work. I asked for them to come help me with it or fix it and they said there was only one person working so they could not leave the desk all night.
- 1/5
When you get there the lobby seems pretty nice it looks like it would be nice. Our floor was level 2 when I tell you that as soon as I stepped out into the hallway it smelled of BO and it was warm and humid. Then when I opened the door to our room it smelled of strong cleaning supplies and PEE. It smelled so bad.the floor was ripped. The walls were dirty and I checked the bed and lifted the sheets and there was a huge pee stain on the mattress. I immediately wanted a refund and she kept 50$ bc they would loose money going through a third party already. So horrible
- 1/5
It had smell in hallway an room please don't sit on sofa it was dirty an look like people had sex on it .out TV didn't work call down stairs an guy was rude very unprofessional an they wouldn't get us another room.I want ever go back here

This is an old hotel one of the elevators was out the room reeked of raid and smelled of cheap cleaner.
- 1/5
Rome smelled like old wet carpet. Towels was dirty, they had hair in them. Bed was itchy.
- 2/5
Mad sketchy, good customer service tho, the elevator sounds like it's at the end of it's life pretty soon, the stairs smell like a mix of marijuana cigarettes and pee, the rooms were good tho toilets are a bit small and room service is mad expensive, the pool was unavailable
- 2/5
The pool has no water, the elevator is broke, can't use side entrance.
- 4/5
I appreciate the fair prices..!!!
- 2/5
Good
- 4/5
Overall is was pleased with the stay, great value for money. Cleanliness of the community areas ( elevators, hallways) needs better focus. Spent 4 nights in the hotel and a can of Dr Pepper was there everyday in the sole working elevator. Uhm….. cleaning staff?
- 4/5
Only one elevator working and the elevator was noisy.
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
The pool and jacuzzi were closed. This fact should have been on hotels.com I would NOT have stayed here knowing that.
- 5/5
👍
- 3/5
The staff was good, especially the guy I checked in with was great! The hotel room is good, super comfy, and spacious. But the bed was shaking by itself while your trying to sleep and sounded like people were talking inside the room with you. No thank you room 404.
- 3/5
Elevator didn't work for 2 days I was there. Suspect people hanging around the building, mattress was worn and staff half cleaned the room. I was fooled by the Wyndham name. You get what you pay for staying at this location.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 1/5
This property is poorly maintained and the one elevator is not of service and the other makes rattling noise. Rooms have smell.
- 3/5
Very well.
- 5/5
It was just want I needed; the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It was quiet and clean; only thing I wish they had more breakfast options. Some turkey sausage & bacon for the no pork eaters and regular bacon & sausage. Like hot chocolate & tea for individuals who don’t care for coffee and for the kids. Though there is an option to order out from the menu which was provided in my room but overall it was a pleasant experience for my 1st time in Houston. And if I had to book again I would stay there for even changing rooms was a breeze. I checked in went to my room I felt uncomfortable in the 1st room due to the connecting door to the other room. She asked me what floor I want to be on but my only request was no connecting rooms and she moved me to the 2nd room with no hassle. And the only way to enter the building is through the front door with your key card especially at night; and that’s a safety plus for me❤️

Customer service was poor quality. And had bugs/roaches
- 5/5
The stay was good but the elevator was making noise like it wanted to brake down. The stay was good but the ac kinda felt like it wasn't working and the room had a smell
- 1/5
Oriental woman at the front counter told me she didn't want "people like me" staying there. The conversation devolved and she told me to leave and never come back. There is no reason to edit this review since I haven't used foul language and only stated what actually happened
- 1/5
Not to good was very uncomfortable. It was dirty not clean homeless man walking around bad smell and stains everywhere on towels sheets and wall. Along with blood stains on carpet.
- 2/5
The hotel was in poor conditions. Stains on the ceilings and floors. The elevator was broken.
- 2/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful but the beds were so uncomfortable. Then one night we were woken up to our car alarm going off at 330.
- 1/5
Never again
- 1/5
As soon as I walked into the room, small bugs were jumping on me. It was so gross
- 3/5
Over all I liked the room and the staff was for the most part friendly. The breakfast lady was kind of rude. But we enjoyed our stay
- 2/5
Time for a major remodel
- 1/5
Bed bugs, dirty sheets, blood stained sheets, stained sheets, musty and moldy, smells horrible and they try and cover mask it with whatever they can, one elevator that barely worked, can’t talk to the managers cause they barely speak English. Water all over the floor and elevator near the pool entrance, kids running wild with no supervision, I mean I could go on and on, don not put your health at risk
- 4/5
Friendly
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 1/5
They weren’t clean at all to me. They were too busy trying to make money off snacks that they brought from Sam’s. I couldn’t tell you where the money is going. One of the elevators was out of order and the other elevator was making noises like it was going to break every time it moved. The door seemed like someone tried to break into it multiple times to where it wouldn’t close all the way. The sheets and comforter had cigarette burns on the and drawing like a kid used markers to mark all on the sheets and they didn’t attempt to discard them. There was rust in the bathroom and they didn’t attempt to fix it up. I was highly disappointed.
- 1/5
I was given a different room but I am nearly positive no fumigation took place in 324. No only this one elevator was out of order, no big deal, but the other elevator rattled and shook and did not feel safe.
- 3/5
Wish they would have had internet and good hot water
- 1/5
This was the worst possible hotel you can stay at. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 3/5
It was okay I mean for the price could have been better but no one ever knocked and that’s a first so good on that
- 2/5
Can't recommend staying here. Overall property in poor condition.
- 3/5
It was okay
- 1/5
EXPEDIA DO NOT LIST THIS PROPERTY, IF YOU DO YOU ARE RIPPING OFF YOUR CLIENTS.
- 1/5
This was the absolute worst stay of my life, The first room 212 we walked in and the carpet was wet and smelt of mildew, the white bedsheets had some kind sticky residue with clots of hair stuck to it. We went down stairs to ask for a new room, while waiting for the keys to the new room a night worker (prostitute) came walking through the lobby half naked and a homeless man proceeded to clean his wet body at the table where the guest are suppose to sit and eat. The front desk agent said nothing he seemed as if it was normal. Room 2 106 we walk in the carpet is still wet and room still stunk of mildew and now there are ants everywhere on the walls in the bed the tub was black and the sofa had urine on it with a used period pad stuck to it. some housekeeping huh! We ended up taking our things and sleeping in the car. It was 3 in the morning and we needed sleep because we were attending a wedding the next day. Its safe to say we did not stay the 2nd night and I would really like my money back. And please be wear of the elevator its very scary it shakes violently once its about to stop at the selected floor. I would really appreciate my money back. Expeida should not advertise this place
- 3/5

The bed is too inconfortable and have flees. La Cama con bump y encontré pulgas
- 1/5
The dirtiest hotel I have ever stated the worst hotel I’ve ever stated there was pubic hair in the towels there’s hair in the bed. There’s throw up on the bedskirt, copper, sticky, hot and humid seemed like I was bathing and sweat the whole time I was there and to, top it off my son got stuck in the elevator for about 30 minutes and they didn’t wanna call 911 help get them out and they didn’t know what to do. They’re running back-and-Fourth like a chicken with its head, cut off, not knowing what to do to get my son out of the elevator
- 5/5
great
- 5/5
great
- 1/5
Room door was not even closed when we got there. Charging cord plugged in by couch like someone had been in there. Crumbs on the floor and smelled bad. Room next door had the smell of weed coming through. Kids running all over the place, cursing and taking over pool area. Trash and condom wrappers in parking lot. Did not even stay the whole night cause we felt unsafe. Same kids were seen at the corner begging for money. Would like my money back
- 3/5
It definitely does need an upgrade to the whole building.. the rooms could’ve been cleaned a little better. But there overall issue is that they need a major remodel!!!!! Bathroom door looked somebody been scratching on it.. bed felt lit was broke. It smelled like Chinese food. And only one elevator works and the one that does makes you feel like you about to fall
- 4/5
It was comfortable
- 2/5
I selected the hotel for the hot tub which does not work like warm at best I said something to manager she said the pool works it's hot outside. The elevator that works sounds like it is not going to at any minute the last day the fire alarm went off I grabbed my stuff and left it may not even be there now I don't know worst hotel stay ever
- 5/5
front desk morning shift and night shift very polite and kindly
