Hotel Celare, Cincinnati Midtown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Almost nothing. See my review. We were kept up all night by a moisture sensor (think fire alarm). We went to the front desk many times and not only was there no maintenance to help, but no manager in the building, and no extra rooms. The only person was a trainee. We got absolutely no sleep, and no one came to fix it until 9 am despite us going down hourly. We were assured that the manager (whenever he got to work) would contact us directly. I left my card. I still hadn’t heard anything the next night so I left several emails. Then I called. I was transferred “to the manager” several times and no one picked up. I left voicemails. Finally, THREE days after our stay, I talked Rezan. He did not offer much in the way of apology, but after some back and forth agreed that if Booking confirmed my refund request, he would refund the whole amount. Guess what? He denied the refund request and is not responding to my calls. So you may be kept up the entire night by an alarm here and have to pay full price. Or your room could flood, or whatever. Just imagine this level of unprofessionalism.

Clean room. Great bed, shower, and charging outlets where they should be.

Really cute hotel. Super helpful staff. Great coffee shop a short walk away.

Great atmosphere Nothing

I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. I also liked proximity to University and downtown. The shower door leaked, leaving a puddle of water outside the shower.

We booked 2 nights over Memorial Weekend to visit our daughter who attends UC. The hotel is beautiful, the staff was amazing. The big problem was with the parking. They have converted most of the street parking spots to "Pay to Park". I believe the rate was $40 per night. We parked down the block to avoid having to pay. 27 cars were broken into on that block and in their parking lot. Our car was one of them. Valet attendant saw the car full of armed men smashing the car windows, and called the police. This ended up being a very big inconvenience as we were 6 hours from home with a smashed window on a holiday weekend. I know this is not the hotel's fault. The valet attendants were super helpful, providing all of us with garbage bags and plastic for our windows. Bottom line...beautiful hotel, amazing staff, terrible parking situation and I'd say a little shady at night. I don't think we will return to this hotel, unfortunately.
