Breakfast was excellent, variety of choices. Staff was friendly & helpful with directions of the area. Hotel was extremely clean. Hotel needs an indoor restaurant or room service. It rained the entire days so we couldn’t eat on the rooftop. Couldn’t get food in the hotel other than breakfast. Also, the hotel needs a gift shop

Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet had a brilliant selection of foods - every option was catered for. We thought the beds and pillows weren’t firm and supportive enough. They also don’t have any complimentary umbrellas available for guests on a rainy days - rain ponchos are available to buy for sale in the lobby.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location! Loved everything about this hotel. Breakfast was great. But they really want you out of the restaurant right at the closing time so give yourself time in the morning for breakfast

The RIU is one of the very best and most comfortable hotels I've ever stayed in. We took a room on a high floor, so it was quiet, and very comfortable. Most amazing of all was the incredible breakfast, with one of the widest array of food choices I've ever experienced. I will almost definitely stay here the next time I am in Chicago.

The location was good. Roof terrace was a bonus but service was awful. The house keeping service wasn’t good. They didn’t clean well or replenish items such as coffee, cups, towels. The included breakfast was cafeteria style with no options to pay for a specialty coffee or get fresh juices (Minute Maid really???) Very basic and for over $350 a night!

The hotel is one of my favorites! The option for breakfast (while not anything particularly amazing) does the job well and keeps you from having to travel far out or spend money. The staff and housekeeping doing an exceptional job and are always accommodating!

Room was spacious and bed comfy. It was fully sound proof and curtains fully darkened to room. Breakfast was excellent though gets crowded by 8a so went early to avoid that. Very well located

Well sited just off Michigan Avenue,so very convenient (walking distance) to a wide variety of attractions, shops and restaurants. Good sized rooms for city centre hotel, spotlessly maintained during our stay and very comfortable bed. Good bathroom with excellent walk - in shower. Excellent buffet style breakfast included in our rate and this would be hard to better, even if the actual breakfast area is huge and a bit canteenish in its layout - this however does not detract from the excellent selection on offer and probably means that there is rarely a wait, so worth it. Efficient and friendly staff throughout. Outdoor terrace roof bar is a great facility and a must visit - drinks are pretty reasonably priced for this type of venue. There is little to dislike about this property - we stayed here last year and were more than happy to return. I am sure they could make the huge breakfast room a touch more elegant, but really why bother, it is functional, clean and the range and quality of food on offer more than compensates.

RIU was one of the best hotel I’ve stayed at recently. Besides the breakfast buffet-needs more options. I would say they offer everything you need for your Chicago stay!
