La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carlsbad - Legoland Area

Our stay was awesome! We reserved the King/Bunk room and were pleasantly surprised to discover that each area of the room(actually two rooms) had their own bathrooms. This made time after the pool and beach efficient since we could all get ready at the same time for our next activity. Breakfast options were plenty! There was something for everyone. Eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt…you name it. The pool was heated, clean and a plus for clean bathrooms close by. Upon checking out the hotel manager made me feel valued by asking about our stay and seemed genuinely interested in honest feedback. Overall this is a very well managed hotel, never mind that it’s budget friendly, they’ll leave you feeling like you paid top dollar. I would definitely book again 😊

Room was spacious, breakfast was good. They didn't refill the body wash, had food wrappers under the bed and someone's old socks were left by the a/c when we arrived

Our key card kept deactivating and when we went to the front desk, we were told it was probably something we did and noticed a note that there was one room next door to us on psych watch and another close by that inquired about a gun. Not my idea of a nice weekend getaway with my family. Didn’t sleep a wink.

The staff was very helpful the room was decent the bathroom needs to be remodeled there was ants in the bathroom pincher bugs and ants in the bed as well.. the bathroom could of been clean and redone The bathroom for starters need some TLC and the dog poop could of been picked up

It was loud but for one night and being close to Lego land and a decent breakfast I’d say totally worth it

Aside from that, my honest review is that I would never stay at this hotel again and here is why. 1. The furniture is shabby. The drawers wouldn't even stay closed. 2. There was a huge whole in the shower wall. 3. The carpet in our room was nasty! 4. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. My back was killing me and my neck was so stiff. We had 2 rooms and my son in law was complaining of back pain too. 5. The employees were rude! Not all of them, but most of them. Even when I was thanking them for breakfast, or bringing me extra towels. My thank you was met with a grunt. Again. I will never stay at this hotel again. And you still owe me a refund for the dog that didn’t come with us!

Front desk person would not show me on a map of property where my room was or where the elevator was so I can take my luggage. Another guest had to show me because she would not help me

Bunkbed option was nice to have with a family of four, they were very squeaky, it was nice to have the extra room.

Location very close to the ocean.

This property was as expected for what we paid. The staff was helpful enough. The breakfast was OK. The bed was clean. However, the curtains had holes in them. The adjoining room door had a broken handle, and the freeway noise was very loud. We could also hear the kids jumping in the room above ours so the soundproofing wasn’t great! But close to everything we wanted to be by… so that was good!

Positives- The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and well stocked. Hotel proximity to LEGOLAND was perfect. Many close by restaurants. Challenges- The traffic from the freeway was loud but doable. We had a family suite which was nice but the rooms need considerable updating. Would still stay here again. 😊

Our family took a trip to Legoland for the weekend and this hotel was extremely close. For the price, it was absolutely worth it. Staff was friendly. Check in was easy. Pool area well maintained and the rooms were pretty spacious and clean. The breakfast was also a pretty good spread and would absolutely book here again.

Room cleaning is OK. Outdor pool is not usable as it is always occupied few set of people, never used it. It is far fro SanDiego, rental might have been less.
