Papillon Echo Beach

It was a good hotel, nice spacious room and bathroom, good breakfast and very close to the beach Good to know you can’t order grabs from that street and have to walk out quite far to be able to. Not the property’s problem just a thing that made us uncomfortable while staying there

Its fair for the price honestly. But the room was huge even comes with bathup for the shower. Hotel was very close tp the beach, restaurant and even a salon, so its actually very good hotel.

Lovely stay at this hotel that is located 5 minutes away from Echo Beach and the main shopping streets in Canggu. There is a bar next door, but they upgraded our room to the far opposite side, so it was very quiet. The staff was friendly and the buffet breakfast very decent. I would probably go back if I were to stay in Canggu again.

Close to the beach There is no mini fridge in the standard room. It was also on the main road- very noisy until 01:00 am.

The staff were super polite and helpful. The entrance has a shallow pool with a large stepping stone that leads to the adjoining restaurant, and it had some some fish swimming around in it. We are a family of three, including an 11-year-old girl, and we are working professionals who are happy to pay a bit more for a nice hotel. As we are out most of the day and essentially just in the hotel to sleep, we don’t really need a 5-star unless it’s a real bargain. We arrived in Canggu as our last destination in Bali and through out our stay had been experiencing lovely 4star accommodations, in Kuta, Ubud, and Uluwatu. This may have affected our experience of Echo Pappilon Hotel. The staff were lovely and always were quick to respond to our requests for towels and toilet paper. They were happy, polite, and did their best. However, we had a few issues. We were put in a room on the right side of the building with an 11-year-old. The bar opposite played live music until 11 p.m. While we understand people want to have a good time on holiday, this was a downside for us. We would not have booked this hotel if we had known about the noise. Another issue was the noise in the corridor. The doors were ‘paper thin’, so conversations sounded like they were in our room. The room had French windows and from the design side was very gappy, so sound got in through that. The hotel itself was also run down. The images you may see on Google, Booking.com, etc., hide the dated, dirty, damaged, and run-down décor. After one night, we decided to leave early and go back to Kuta. The staff were concerned about our early departure, which I felt showed they cared. However, I felt they must know that the hotel has an issue and we aren’t the first to complain. They offered us a back room (which is more money) for a ‘free upgrade’, but I feel people should be warned about the noise beforehand, especially those with young children. I have also read reviews where others have complained about the noise over the years. Why hasn’t the hotel installed better soundproofing with the windows?

Service was great! Spacious and clean! The different pools were great too and good location. Rats getting in the room one night and caused a ruckus lol
