A trip to Bruges was for our brother's 60th birthday. The hotel appealed on booking as traditional building and not a chain. The three of us agree that the hotel is lovely, We were met by the owner on arrival and welcomed into the hotel. The hotel is traditional and has retained its original decor. Its is well furnished and has an honesty bar, which we were surprised by and we did use one evening. The breakfast was a very good quality continental breakfast, with fresh produce, which was plentiful.the hotel is a 2/3 minutes walk from the canal (where you can take boat trip and see Bruges form a different perspective) and 5/10 mins walk to the Burg and Mart (bars,historical buildings, shops restaurants and art gallerys) we couldn't of been more central, whilst just back from the busyness in the evenings. So we heard no noise at night. The bedrooms were lovely, with fresh linen and comfortable beds. For one twin and one double room in this location it is great value for money. Nothing at all

It’s very sweet and a little “old fashioned” - but in a trendy kind of way. Very small and cosy. We loved it. Nothing.

Loved the location - close to town & good restaurants. Room was enormous - 2 double beds. Quaint hotel - very pretty. Hot water tap in sink takes ages to run warm & pressure is low. Shower is great though.

Close to the city centre, easy underground parking and check in. Good continental breakfast. Lack of air con on a hot day. Unfortunate to be in Bruges when the city was celebrating winning the football which was extremely loud.

Everything. From the moment we pulled up on our bikes ,Axel greeted us and made us comfortable from the start. So far the best accommodation on our trip. Will be back again Nothing

Botaniek is a lovely hotel close to Bruges city centre. It's quiet, clean, has comfortable beds and the staff are friendly. We had a room on the top floor with an amazing view of the Bruges skyline. There are two lovely brunch places right around the corner (Noah's and The Spot) which serve excellent breakfasts, brunches and lunches. The centre is a 5 minute walk away and the train station can easily be walked to in about 25 minutes. There was nothing about the place that we didn't like.

Location is very near to the centre of Brugge but the hotel is on a quiet street. Room had a coffee maker and was a reasonable size. The bathroom was not to the same standard as the rest of the room. In the room I had the toilet seat was broken. The shower door was hung on a rail and moved on wheels but mine fell of when I open it to get out of the shower and grazed my foot.

We were warmly welcomed. Facilities were explained. Lighting in room could have been better. We are older and our eyesight struggled with the lighting.

The hotel has a wonderful ambience and is at a lovely central location . A perfect stay in the heart of Bruges . Attentive and friendly host
