Safestay Barcelona Passeig de Gracia

Location and staff were excellent. Very beautiful historical building.. Nice bar on the 7th floor and on the second floor. Very comfortable common room. The mixed dormitory didn't have curtains on the beds. The mixed dormitory is dangerous for women, unsafe because there were many Arabic Muslims man, spying on their female roommates. And those guys weren't tourists, it seems they had another purpose there and they were changing all the time during this evening. Very strange things were going on there, I would say at least. The balcony doors in the room didn't close completely, allowing traffic loud noise to penetrate the room.

Close to the Casa Batllo and in walking distance to most sightseeing! The shared showers and bathrooms were not clean during my entire stay of 2 nights. Only a flat sheet provided, not a comforter. Laundry not available

The location was the best thing. No facilities to make my own food and the shower in room 506 wasn't very good.

Location only other then that staff are rude you pay everything even a lockerroom wich is rediculus no kitchen bedbugs and check in untill 15:00 won’t reccomnd it worst hostel i’ve like into Staff policy and comfort

No bed curtains

I was very dissatisfied with this hostel due to two separate incidents. First, I was affected by an overbooking issue. I had specifically booked a room that I wanted to stay in because I liked it and it was a male-only dorm. However, I was placed in a mixed dorm instead. What if a guest's religious beliefs do not allow them to sleep in the same room as women? When I went to reception to resolve the issue, I was told very directly that my only options were to stay in the mixed dorm or have my reservation cancelled without a refund. Booking.com became involved in the dispute, but at the time of writing there is still no resolution. Second, when I checked into my room, I found that my assigned bed was already occupied. I went to reception, where I was told that my bed assignment had been changed. However, it turned out that it had not actually been updated. In the middle of the night, a staff member came to my bed and began reprimanding me in a very rude manner for changing beds. I explained that the hostel staff had approved the change, but he continued speaking to me as if I were a misbehaving child. It was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional to be treated that way, especially when the situation was caused by the hostel's own mistakes.

They let 2 junkies in and they were sleeping in the same room as me and their smell was terrible and permeated the room. To make things worse, one of the junkies urinated on the room's floor in the morning and created a very insanitary situation.

The only thing I really liked about the hostel was its location. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. However, I believe that in a hostel, each bed should have curtains on all four sides to provide guests with privacy. The window in my room was defective, and there was also no sound insulation, which made the room noisy.

The breakfast was very good, so as the room, altough it got cold with the ac on and the hostel didn´t have extra thick blankets.
