Hostal Balmes Centro

The hostal is located near the mayor attractions and well connected to public transportation.

not comfortable bed and pillows too noise from other rooms

The room is spacious and comfortable. The beds were clean and good to sleep in. It is ample and has a nice modern bathroom. The public spaces were ok, functional. We had a balcony to the street. The room had a strange musty smell at first, it went away. There was a strange small hole in the ceiling where their was once a lamp, I think. It was creepy but ok. The person at the reception was pretty dry but became friendlier with time.

Nothing at all. Not clean not comfortable, no hot water, paying around 100 US dollars and get dirty shared bath, WiFi is not working, not friendly staff, they don’t speak English or they don’t want even the messages. Does not worth the money.

The place was "loud"--loud guests and in the early morning, conversations by the staff were pretty loud as well. The hallway echoed so things seemed "amplified" and guests there were also loud in the common areas--there was a party in the room next door and I finally had to complain as it was late.

Shared bathroom is COLD.

Good area close to the bus and subway

Very near to Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Comfortable room. Easily accessible. Halal food options were near. The person at Reception, named Usama, was friendly and effecient. No Kettle to get boiled water e,g, for green tea or black coffee. Wifi signals were very low. I barely used wifi.

It was noisy at night because of the bar downstairs.

There are no windows in the room (there are some, but they are not transparent, but made of tiles) - perhaps this is important for some.

Location

Good location, easy access to public transportation staff were kind and professional. The music venue next door starts each night with a performance from 10:00 to 2:00. If you stay here try to get a room on a higher floor.

Everything it is on perfect location close to most of touristic attractions with walk of 20 minutes to everywhere

The place was very clean. The staff were very friendly and professional. I got value for my money. None

The smell of the elevator , not clean the floor was never cleaned for 5 days , sheets were never changed for 5 days even we asked for them to be changed .

It was very noisy, there was a tiny window and I found hair and (I hope) lipstick marks on the bed. On the corner of the room there was a used tissue which stayed in the same spot for the entirety of our stay, even though the room was "cleaned" every morning by the staff.

The receptionists weren't professional nor friendly enough, the facilities were bad

The location is excellent, 24 hours reception. The room was spacious, bed comfortable enough and shower great. There was a little fridge which was a nice bonus. The room and the furniture require renovation. Sound proof doesn't exist, you can hear any conversation on the reception desk or TV in the next room.

The room met our expectations. I like that it was not a typical hotel room you can find all around the world but had its own touch, very specific to Barcelona! Transport connections were good. Staff really friendly and helpful. Kettle and microwave oven in the hall. N/A

Great location in the city centre. We could take transportation so easily from the hostel. Reasonable price for a en-suite room. Reception was 24h which was helpful for us. But one thing we were struggling was that the wifi connection was not good.
