Baymont by Wyndham Amarillo East

This facility is in need of attention. It is suffering deferred maintenance and is not being kept clean. Our toilet leaked. The ice machine was out of order for the weekend. Front desk staff received four stars but would have received five had the young lady at our first check-in been able to comprehend what we were saying in plain English. We believe she was fairly new at her position. Breakfast was powdered eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, cereal, and yogurt. All good, except the eggs. For a Wyndham property, we were not impressed. We'll not stay at this one again.

The small gym room they used to have is gone. There was no elevator so you had to use stairs to take your luggage upstairs. The hallways on the second floor was a little messy, someone must have made the mess before we got there. The entrance near the pool is a little "sus" feeling.

Did not eat breakfast we got up and left at about 4 o’clock Enjoyed staying there. Everything was great. I liked it all.

Our overnight stay was good for the cost. Location was good, a bit noisy being right off I40 but still rested well. The hotel seems to be a older one but was in decent shape. Pool was nice especially after a hot day going around town. Breakfast could have been way better but was ok. Fridge seemed to take forever to get cold, so we put the ice bucket full of ice inside it to help spend up the process, which worked.. It's a old hotel that could use some upgrading but for the price, it was fine for one night.

Easy access and the staff was friendly. Room was clean. Older hotel but new laminate flooring in the rooms and currently working on upgrades. No elevator to the second floor which is where we were. Little hard to be pulling your luggage up the stairs.

Location only Property smell bad, the room that we were given the toilet was clogged, they gave us another room that was also smelly and the bathtub had woman hair on the walls, this was not one hair it was a bunch of very long hair on the wall, very noticeable, not sure how the person that clean this roof did not notice.

The staff was friendly! The location was good. I did not like how the back/side entrance did not lock. Anyone could come in and out. The smell in the hallways were not pleasant. No elevator. We were put on the 2nd floor because “that is where the king beds are” but we’re told there are no elevators. But that we would be in the quiet section but it’s not quiet. The was lots of traffic and noises from carts.

Bed is comfortable. Hotel has dust in the corner and mold in bathroom. Breakfast is okay.

I should have known better because we reserved a room in northern Indiana at one, and after driving around it, we drove away and reserved another hotel that was nice. This wasn’t quite as bad, but if my husband hadn’t been so tired from driving, we would have been happy to drive on. The neighborhood was terrible, and we were concerned about theft of our belongings in the car. You should stop listing these properties!

This was a lovely, quiet stop on our route.

I was disappointed with my room. The floor was laminate, looked stained with footprints and paw prints. I tried to clean it, but the stains were waxed over, they wouldn't come off. The floor was gritty on are feet. Also the toilet would fill itself every 10 minutes. The breakfast was not very impressive either. The powdered eggs were completely dry, possibly over heated in the microwave. The only fruit that was available were apples, no bananas. The choices very limited. Also there were some questionable looking people lingering in the parking lot, although there was no issue. I don't plan on staying here again.

The staff in the lobby was awesome, and friendly. There were several people cleaning in the lobby when we checked in and checked out. I want to say housekeeping wasn’t very efficient and disappointing. Breakfast was good and area was clean.

The tv was on when we entered the room. Seemed strange until we tried to turn it off with the remote and it wouldn't go off. Finally had to unplug it so it wouldn't be glaring at us all night. The AC/Heater also wouldn't turn off or function properly. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, staff was nice.

Way overpriced for what you get, no elevator long hallways small room and breakfast was beyond basic and stale. Would never pay to stay here again for more than $---bucks

Upon arrival at 4 pm had to wait 10 minutes while the front desk checked to see if they had a clean room. They gave us a room that had a double bed. We reserved a room with 2 queens. Wife went to the front desk and asked for a room with 2 queen beds and they said “sorry”” that they didn’t have any rooms. We asked for a refund and left.

Cable Television was awful not one channel came in without locking up. Breakfast was well stocked, room was clean. We had no problem with it but there was no elevator only stairs. We heard several people complaining about it. Staff was friendly.

When we first tried checking in, I asked the person behind the desk to please keep my credit card low because I was able to read the number on the back and she just argued with me that she would never put my credit card information at risk. I tried to tell her she wouldn’t intentionally. And she said she wouldn’t. But the same time if people can read my credit card number than she is putting my credit information at risk whether she realizes it or not. Instead of arguing with me over this, she should’ve just held my credit card lower. We had a very long wait before we could check in, which tells you that the room had multiple people in it. If we would’ve arrived an hour earlier, we would’ve left and gone elsewhere. I cannot recommend this place at all.

The facility is old outdated and in horrible condition. We booked a room and were told when we arrived. It was on the second floor, and there was no elevator. When we turned on the water in the bathroom, the pipes sounded like a jackhammer was going off. This wasn’t just our room. It was nearby rooms as well. There was a dog barking in the hotel that woke us up in the middle of the night. The microwave in the room didn’t work properly. Everything in the room was old and shabby. Even the walls had places that looked like they had suffered severe water damage and has never been repaired. It is also understaffed at the front desk so you have to wait long while before you can check in or out. Basically, we will never stay here again and would encourage everyone to avoid it

I would rate this motel higher, but there is ni elevator if you want a king bed. If you want to be on the first floor, there are only 2 doubles and it cost extra. The room was clean, bed very comfortable, water pressure great. Strange that there are no towel racks in the bathroom. Was told that's now "the norm."

We have stayed at this hotel as many as 10+ times because they are dog friendly. But the last 2 times we stayed we did not have clean rooms well after 5 pm and had to wait a long time for the rooms to be ready. We will most likely not be rebooking this hotel again.

Everything was good but my bathroom was not clean. There was black hair all over the place. It was in the sink a long with toothpaste, in the tub and black pubic on the toilet. The toilet also had pee under the rim when you lift up the seat. Everything else was ok besides the bathroom. I cleaned the toilet in order to use it but did not take a shower or use anything else in the bathroom.

No complaints for the price. Building needs some updating. Overall clean and breakfast was good. Staff responded well to any inquiry.

Survived the stay, but did not feel safe. NO ELEVATOR for handicapped to reach room on upper floor. Ground level rooms not available due to housekeeping not showing up to clean rooms. THIS DID NOT MEET HANDICAP ACCESS. Front desk unable to accommodate guests in line in front and behind me.

It was very loud with a great deal of noise-dog barking, doors slamming, late arrivals-difficult to sleep. Everything else was great!

The facility was very clean and nice. The only problem was that the bed was very uncomfortable. Between my wife and I, we found that we were rolling into the middle of the bed all night. It made our sleep very difficult.

The bedroom a/c was not cooling properly. And, the orange juice at breakfast seemed watered down. Altogether we enjoyed our stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find the suite layout with separate living room and two bathrooms.

Room is clean. Bed is nice. Breakfast is great. But there are some details are not doing ver well even it doesn’t bother me at all - such as there is no cloth hanger from closet and so on. I already make a list to staff who write it down seriously.

The room was clean and the king bed and pillows comfortable. It’s in a good convenient central location. The breakfast was more than just pastries and included scrambled eggs and sausage and toast. This was our 2nd stay here when passing through Amarillo and will probably stay here on the next trip through that area.

This hotel is a total bargain in terms of quality of lodging & service in exchange for price. The front-desk person, Katie, was very competent and extremely nice. The room was very clean. (I’m not a big fan of the small square pillows, though they were fresh and comfortable.) The breakfast was excellent.

One room smelled very strongly of marijuana and had cigarette burns on the sheets. A USED, DIRTY washcloth fell from the top of the shower curtain and on me as I was getting in the shower. Interior bathroom door had prints and smears on it. Short, curly hairs in the shower. Other room was just filthy. The dust was caked around a broken electrical plug on the table. The heater did not work (it was COLD last night). Sheets were pilled and hair stains on them. Mattress pad had distinct blood stain. Hairs in the bed. Multiple hairs on both beds. Loud! And the outside like reflected on the wall and lit the entire room. I had my sound machine app open and phone plugged in to the broken outlet and my phone died. I slept maybe a total of three hours because I was so grossed out and cold so thankfully I didn’t oversleep because my alarm would’ve never went off. We ended up getting up at 4:30 and leaving due to everything being so messed up and dirty. There was nobody at the front office to complain to. We never saw any workers, so we just walked out. Never ever again will I bring my family of six here. The reviews on the website were great, so I really thought this place was going to be, at least, decent. Other room

Staff was awesome!!! Katie was so incredibly kind. The breakfast was well stocked and the area waa clean. I reserved a room for 3. Got a room for 2. The place needs some love but ok for a one night nap.

Nice signin process. I was very pleased with the room cleanliness and the bed was comfortable. Staff was fine the desk manager was great. Didn’t use any amenities but it was nice to have the refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was good and checkout process was the perfect close to a very nice stay.

I can not rate this stay a 4 or 5 because of the “pool party” my family had I were having in the shower. This is what my four year old called it when the bathtub was 2-3 inches full of grey water while taking a shower. The same thing happened to my wife and I. Other than that, the rest of the stay was fine.

Room staff are great. Breakfast was good. A microwave and coffee maker were available in the room, although their cords didnt reach the wall outlets. Room floors were sticky and were told it ws due to the cleaning solution used. Hallway carpets need deep cleaning.

Very nice hot breakfast, very friendly service and very comfortable room. The only complaint I could mention is that we requested a ground floor room due to no elevator and a difficulty with steps and they could not help us with that. Otherwise, a great hotel!

The room was surprisingly quiet for being on a freeway frontage road, but it is oriented so that I doubt anyone hears freeway noise. If is a little isolated, but the freeway is right there, I guess. Pretty much what I expect in a place to pull off the road for the night. I didn't eat breakfast or use any of the amenities - just a place for a shower & a good night's sleep.

The property was in extremely poor condition and not clean. After checking in and getting to our room, we double checked the star rating from our app and we checked the rating from customers. We were we sure we were in the wrong facility based on the reviews. Makes us question using hotels.com in the future.

An older property that’s due some updates. Side doors do not lock anymore so it’s not super safe in the back halls. No elevator so be wary of you can’t do stairs.

The chicken staff were really helpful and really nice! They are definitely an asset to this hotel. However, the hotel is run down and is in major need of renovation.

Staff were excellent. The property itself was run down. There was a closed, fenced off old motel next to the property. It felt unsafe. As we were leaving the next morning there was a towel & a pair of shoes stuffed under the front tire of the car parked next to me. What’s with that?

I was unable to sleep because a bed bug was crawling on my neck and disturbed my sleep for the night. I was traveling a great distance and needed to sleep but was unable to get a good nights sleep.

The hotel had been updated some. The rooms were clean and were comfortable for an overnight stay. Breakfast was good and the lobby was very nice. The area felt safe.

I arrived around 1:00 a.m. to check in, and no one was at the front desk. I waited several minutes, even called the hotel, before the attendant finally appeared, casually saying she had been “swapping out a hair dryer.” Not a reassuring start. The hotel has no elevator, which was never disclosed. I was told to park in the back and use the stairs, but when I drove around, both back doors were propped wide open. No staff, no security, no guests—just open access for anyone to walk in. The parking lot was extremely sketchy. Out of nowhere, a man appeared carrying a pink bag, staring directly at me, then wandered off toward the truck parking without getting into a vehicle. Almost immediately, another man came around the corner, leaned against the building, kept his hands behind his back, and exchanged long stares with the first man—all of this happening at 1 a.m. on a weeknight. It felt unsafe, like they were watching me. At that point, I did not feel secure even getting out of my car. I got back in and left immediately, deciding to continue driving home. I called the front desk to report what happened. The attendant said she would “handle it” and refund my money, but I have yet to receive a refund. This place is unsafe, unprofessional, and gives off serious red-flag vibes. If your safety matters to you, avoid this property at all costs.

My only criticism is that the for doors were propped open. An obvious code violation. In the post COVID world of barley edible breakfasts, this was a pleasant surprise. Fruit, waffles, bagels, and muffins were of good quality and complimented the sausage and eggs which were unexpected.

Service was very prompt when the toilet wouldn't flush completely and everyone was friendly. Hotel/room was just older. Stains in tub, stickiness on night stand and lots of hall noises and road noise. Glad we didn't pay more than we did.

When I checked in on 09/05/25 the desk clerk had to call someone and ask about giving me a room as it was obvious no one addressed the question prior for a ground floor room. Then I had to wait for a decision. Why ask when making reservations if a person needs assistance or accommodation if it’s not going to be addressed ahead of the arrival date?

Easy to get to. Rooms are clean. Bathroom had a dirty towel hanging up and not much water pressure in the shower.

I approve of being pet friendly BUT let us know where the pets are so we can have a PEACEFUL stay. My room was next to a continuous barking fur baby..

Nice hotel!

Check in took about 45 minutes, close to 30 of those were spent waiting on the front desk person to get there. They were short on housekeeping and she was not at the front desk, but helping get rooms ready. The carpets in the hall were soo dirty with crumbs and visible mess and everything was just kinda dingy. The room was clean enough but outdated and smelled kinda musty. The ac cooled the room but only to a “tolerable” temperature, I woke up sweating under the blanket. Breakfast was crowded and had limited options. Was fine enough, but would not stay here again

Comfy, a bit shabby, but not dirty. Seems like they do a ton of business. Bring earplugs, doors are thin & you hear everything in the hallway, but it wasn’t raucous. Just busy. Great TV channel selection! Hot breakfast, super friendly staff.

Bathroom outdated and small. Tub seemed unclean but could just be wear & tear. Same with bath floors. Room had no art, just plain walls. Property seemed very worn, grounds dirty and unkept. No elevator (might have said that in website and I missed). On plus side: continental breakfast was great! Bed/pillows were awesome!

Although they were doing construction in the hallway outside my room the stay was good. Once the workers stopped working I was able to rest and enjoyed my stay. I will be staying again but will request a room away from any work being done to hotel next stay.

We ended up not staying there. It was in a bad area, the lobby smelled like sewer, and there was no one at the front desk. We ended going to the Super 8 in east Amarillo. It was great. I could not get a refund, because it was too late. This is the second time in the same week this has happened to us. I don’t trust your reviews on the app any more and will not be using Hotels.com any more.

We had a great experience here. We were traveling with our dogs which were welcomed. The room was clean, smelled good, the beds was very comfortable, the water pressure was excellent and the AC worked great! We were definitely in the "doggy" end of the hotel as the hallway reeked of pee. That would be my only critique. Needs new carpet in the hallway! We didn't eat breakfast but we did enjoy a hot cup of coffee. I also liked that they offer a late checkout than usual at 12pm! Overall, great stay for a great price and very comfortable. Would stay again.

It was okay for the money but certainly needs updating. Most of the doors into the rooms stick and even our bath counter was not attached.

The staff, specially Rick, was very accommodating, woth parking simce we were hauling a uhaul trailor.

Overall a good night stay. The shower could of been cleaned, there was some hair on the shower walls and the bathroom floor. Bed pilloe covers looked used and one of them has a spot on it. I did not undo the bed sheets, good thing I had my own pillow and blanket with me.

Beds were clean and very comfortable. Even though I booked a king but they only had kings on the 2nd floor and no elevator, I'm an old woman. The whole property needs to be renovated pretty wore down.

We met my niece there to follow her home and it was ok for the one night we were there. Had trouble opening the door. Was kind of run down. Someone had a dog that was barking throughout the night. Good for a quick few hours of rest but would not stay there more than one night or with my children.

Pleasantly surprised by this stay. The staff was super friendly, always greeting us with a smile and a friendly hello - even when checking in at like 11pm lol. At breakfast a staff member came around giving free stickers (like, really nice stickers!) to the kids, making for a great memory of the trip. Made for a really nice quick overnight and pleasant start to the next day of our road trip.

Drove in from Dallas to visit family and needed an affordable place to crash for the night. Check in was quick and easy. The rooms were standard and clean. The rooms were nice and cool as well. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had orange juice. Toast and sausage for breakfast and it was just what I needed to start my day and make the drive home! I would definitely stay here again and may even let this be my go to when ever I’m visiting. Also plenty of fast food options around the corner so you don’t have to go far for a meal. Thanks Baymont!

I was traveling cross-country and decided to stop for the night. So, I booked a room @12a and prepaid. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that there were no rooms available and they would not issue me a refund. I contacted Hotels.com via chat and spoke with a "bot," that stated they would contact the hotel directly for my refund. A few minutes later, the bot informed me that the hotel declined my refund request. The hotel that I ended up staying at told me that the act of "refusing to refund your money for a room you didn't use is illegal." I will be contacting their corporate office to receive my refund.
