Howard Johnson by Wyndham Yuma

Looks like a number of years ago this was a good place. Hotel is in state of disrepair. Missing light bulbs. No coffee available in room. Shower was shoddily glued together would not return. Definitely a misleading Travelocity rating.

I've stayed at Howard Johnson more than 10 times in the last year. The price is reasonable and the staff is great and very helpful. The rooms are clean and you don't pay extra for a fridge or microwave. The breakfasts are my husband's favorite. I definitely recommend staying there. It's location is excellent to pick up whatever you need.

The room was not that clean, found hair in sink, toilet was not clean, under the bed was not and behind the dresser looked like a year or so of piled up dusk. They had fresh eggs and meat however none was cooked for breakfast during my 3 days stay. Although the stated that it would be available for breakfast.

The microwave was broken for 3 days. No maintenance person to come check it out. I was able to use the microwave in the lobby, so it was no big deal.

No manager on duty during the days we were to be staying. Packed up early morning and checked out. Drove back home. Front desk said we had to go through booking.com, booking.com said we had to go through the property. If we do not get a call from the manager at the property to fully refund our stay we will dispute with the credit card.

Comfortable clean bed. Very outdated but a subsequent email stated they had renovation coming in the very near future. That will make it nice. It was comfortable stay. Convenient location.

If you want an affordable no frills place that allows pets, this is it! Continental breakfast, swimming pool, clean bathroom but the smell of pinesol in the room was a little much. The smell finally went away. A/C works great! Bed and pillows not as comfy as I would like. But overall decent experience.

The room was super cute and clean - the free breakfast was simple. They made fresh eggs as requested. The coffee was also good. The AC works great - I was so hot when I first check in and the room cooled down within minutes. The room had everything I needed including a fridge/freezer and easy access to the tv - so I could plug in my HDMI and connect to my laptop to watch YouTube. It's also right next to Chipotle (less than 5 minute walk) which was great! I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Yuma.

Front desk office staff were terrible about communicating with other front desk staff. Left my Mother's suitcase. Made arrangements with them to have my friend pick it up. They didn't have it. After I was told they did. Now I have to wait and talk to their manager. Poor communication.

Everything is good but i don’t think they should be rated 8. I been to hotels that are 8 and they are way better. If i have to rate them fairly and honestly it should be 7. They need some upgrades. Floor and bathroom arrangement.

Mattress’s may need to be updated due to stains. Carpet was sticky and needs a good cleaning. Better cleaning under the beds. Updates including a newer tv would be ideal.

Room was clean with a comfortable bed, but could use some work. Room also had a small fridge and a microwave. Very close to groceries and places to eat, and a bus stop. Very nice pool, but not many lounge chairs. Breakfast was limited but good — waffles, toast, cereal, up to 3 eggs made to order, coffee, juices, and some fruit. Downsides were the limited breakfast, carpets need washing, need some minor repairs in the room, Wi-Fi did not work for me even though there was a strong signal. Not sure if that was my VPN interfering or not.

Good price, decent breakfast (waffles, cereal, eggs made to order), cold A/C, microwave and fridge, dog-friendly (with extra $10 charge per dog per night). Friendly staff. The room's interiors feel a bit run down and smelled like smoke when we checked in, even though our room was non-smoking, and you can't open the windows to air out the room. Not much within walking distance except some chain restaurants and an Albertson's.

Room was clean and beds were comfy. When we checked in the room was ready except for towels. We were told they would bring towels to us. We called the front desk at 5:30 to check on when we might receive towels and were told housekeeping was gone for the day and they would bring us a couple of towels from the pool.

Older hotel.The best part was the breakfast, you can make your own waffles which was a plus, and a omelet station. The room did not look updated. smelled old, mosquitos all over the room especially the bathroom, dead bugs by the window, dirty carpet and old popcorn and a sock on the floor behind the bed, old mattresses that were semi comfortable. We booked 2 nights and ended up staying for one only.

The air conditioner worked great, we really liked our room on the floor level which had an oversize king size bed, desk, convertible lounge chair and desk shower, walk in shower and a large separate area to hang close in, place personal items on a large counter top and dress in. A very nice room for the price!

Comfortable bed, nice size room and long counter for toiletries and/or snack stuff. The bathroom appeared to be recently updated, but the carpet was in sad shape. The pool area is nice, but the pool is not heated. They provide a pretty nice breakfast, but hardly anything gluten free. We liked being able to walk over to a grocery store, and there are some restaurants are walkable too.

The staff was fine, the amenities were fine, price was OK, not too many negs. There is a pet fee that I was not aware of $10. per night which I didn't find when I booked the room, and for the microwave that was in the room there was no glass turning plate that is required to use, ut that is an easy fix. The location was great.

It was overall nice stay but what I didn't like was the breakfast choices that they give us I know it's just eggs and I appreciate the complimentary breakfast but there was no fruit

The room smelled great was very clean! Nice shower - immediate hot water. My only reason for not 5 stars was the road noise since we faced the busy road. If we stay again I’d request a room facing the pool.

Breakfast was waffles and eggs. No fruit, meat protein, milk. Refrigerated syrup and no butter for waffles. Air conditioners in both rooms were INCREDIBLY loud. Couldn't tell if the military jets were flying or not cuz the a/c sounded exactly like the jets throughout the night. Check-in lady was very nice, although, I do believer oversold what they had for breakfast. Refused to eat the sending day. Not sure if we'll come back in the future or not. We're not picky but with: Dirty/stinky rooms, no water pressure, loud a/c units, terrible breakfast, may be enough for us to go elsewhere.t

We checked in late into the night but had no issues as they had someone at the desk ready to receive us. Check in was quick and efficient, room was clean and well presented. Only concern was the excessive mirrors in the room. Other than that, it was great, relaxing pit stop on our road trip. Would recommend!

The room was actually spotless, plenty of towels & soaps. The bed & pillows were so comfy & soft. TV w/remote worked great. There wasn't a coffee maker in the room- but coffee always available in the lobby & I did see where you could request one for the room. They serve breakfast in the morning & offer up to 3 eggs per person, which are cooked right there fresh! My 2 eggs over medium were perfect with a fresh waffle. There were a few other choices available- cereals, toast. Juices & of course coffee. It was a very nicestay & I would go again.

Everything about this hotel was sparkling clean, including the pool area where I sat at night with my feet in the water making phone calls. Breakfast buffet was great as well, with a woman cooking eggs to order and the coffee was excellent! If you are going to cross the border for dental work, it's less than a 30 minute easy drive. The only thing that wasn't great was the noisy air conditioning unit in the room, which I did report to the front desk when I left. Othewise, enjoyed my short stay!

Our room was disgusting. The bed was broken down, there was mold in the bathroom, it hasn't been cleaned behind the sink is atleast a year or 2. The carpet was gross. The tile floor has chips in it and broken tiles. The sink counter she had chunks broken out of it. The airconditioner has been cleaned in I'm guessing atleast a year. My wife got flea bites in her ankles. I can only assume it's from the carpet and not bed bugs. We won't be back. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the check in staff was very friendly. Otherwise they would have gotten a 1 star.

The tile floor has chips in it and broken tiles. The sink counter she had chunks broken out of it. The airconditioner has been cleaned in I'm guessing atleast a year. My wife got flea bites in her ankles. I can only assume it's from the carpet and not bed bugs. We won't be back. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the check in staff was very friendly. Otherwise they would have gotten a 1 star.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our ride was late so they extended itto 12pm. Ride still not there so She let us wait in the lobby til they showed up. The rooms are compfortable with plenty of drawers, seating and counter tops. Enjoyed our stay.

We stayed there for few hours. We found bugs inside the room but overall it was not a disaster. Bed and sheets were clean and bathroom too, so was ok.

This was a good deal, it had a fantastic mural in the lobby. Breakfast was made of a few freshly cracked eggs (made by a person not a machine) and a really good waffle iron. There was toast and jam, and cereal. I really liked that this wasn't a cookie cutter hotel breakfast, it felt more genuine. The staff was very kind. The mattress wasn't great, but the room was clean. For the price, this was a great value.

Loved my stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the pool. Breakfast was good. It was great seeing someone actually cooking the eggs for the guests. Even though the property is on a busy street, the room was quiet and peaceful. I will stay here again and recommend for visitors coming to Yuma.

Disgusting Hotel, Firstly the company does a poorly job cleaning the hotels after every visit. Walking into the room, you are greeted with an unbearable heat. The AC was off leaving us to turn it on then figuring out they locked the settings. Checking the beds was the best decision I made, there was leftover dirt residue under the sheets, leftover hair & stains. The floor was dirty, There was an added light on the ceiling that had wires exposed on the wall leaving a safety issue. Thinking about taking a relaxing shower after a long day? Think again. This hotel provided NO cold water! Not even from the sinks!! The bathroom was a disgusting mess with dirt on the floors and wall, bathtub had dirt still in the tub, no ventilation for the entire restroom leaving it humid with the hot water. The heat made the entire stay unbearable, it took until 4am for the room to cool down. Outside was even worse, greeted with people who were using drugs outside leaving me afraid to go outside to my car at night. I am elderly which means I need to be safe! This hotel should not even be listed under Hotels.com it is HORRIBLE! The office was empty the entire time I stayed which left me with no other choice but to stay in a disgusting room. I am very disappointed with this hotel & will NEVER come back to this place again.

I stayed at this location for several nights. The staff was awesome, friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the A/C kept the room nice and cool. The rooms were older but mine was nice and clean. I plan to stay there again if I return to Yuma. One recommendation would be to cover the designated smoking areas. With the Yuma heat guests shouldn't have to sit in over 100 degrees weather with no shade to smoke. It was also nice that they served breakfast with waffles and eggs. Monica did a great job cooking the eggs and she was friendly and helpful.

Its a 2 star Motel / Hotel. We were in the back in # 160 and it was meh... the parking lot was dirty with trash. The room was ok but the TV situation was horrible, looks like is operated by a 1970's satellite dish and kept going out. But for 60 a night is was average

The AC unit in the room had a loud grumble sound when the compressor kicked on. Its time for the bed to be upgraded. Other than that we enjoyed the room. Was a great price. Liked that there was a counter outside the bathroom for us women to get ready at.

On line it looks ok but once we arrived it does not hold up to a howard Johnson Wyndham hotel! Very disappointed. The pool looked clean, however we did not have to to swim! The staff was friendly. It needs an overhaul! Breakfast could have more options.

The staff at the front desk were great - professional, yet also friendly - an ideal combination. The room was clean and attractively decorated; the location of the hotel was ideal for a trip to the Marine Corps base, as well as local shopping, and the price was reasonable - just right for my short trip to Yuma.

The property is located between to busy streets so we herd the traffic all night.

The staff was very responsive. We especially enjoyed the daily breakfast and the selections. Making my own waffles was fun and the woman making omelets was so friendly and lovely. The rooms were okay; loved having a fridge and microwave plus a coffee maker--although there is coffee in the lobby 24x7. The carpet edges could have been vacuumed better--BUT, the BED was SO COMFORTABLE! I regularly sleep at a 4-Diamond Resort and the beds were equally comfortable! Traffic noise was a bit heavy but it s on a busy road so to be expected.

People great, breakfast exemplary, rooms great. But there was ZERO wifi connectivity in my room, and, worse than that, ZERO cell phone connectivity either. I had to go into the middle of the parking lot to get anything. So if you need a comfortable bed but don't need to make a call, get a text, or connect to the outside world via internet, this is your place.

The room was clean, however the outside of the Howard Johnson is horribly dirty and old. Now I know why they don't share a lot of images of the property. The TVs are old (not Smart TVs). There was no USB connection in the room and the front desk attendant couldn't help me. The A/C units are old and make a lot of noise. I had a hard time sleeping, because of the heavy traffic on 4th street.

We stayed overnight for dental procedure in Los Aglodones. Location was convenient to border. Plenty of dining options close. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Nice complimentary breakfast. Liked the early check in and late check out options

Property was not quiet. Free breakfast is mediocre. They have a lady doing eggs, her only job is doing eggs and she does them bad lol.

Room was on the back of the Hotel next to a busy street. Very noisy most of the night. Sugar ants and cockroach in bathroom.

The inside guestroom deadbolt lock was missing altogether on the inside of my guestroom (126) door. This is obviously a guest safety issue that should be addressed/fixed.

In addition, traffic outside the room was very noisy and was objectionable and made it difficult to sleep. In addition, there were either patrons or visitors, talking on their cell phones directly outside my door or above on the second floor balcony. There was also times when they were yelling at each other up to 2:30am . I had to call the front desk to have that corrected and they did so almost immediately.
