Homewood Suites Wilmington/Mayfaire

Everything about this place met all of my expectations! The fitness room was great, the pool and hot tub area was a treat we enjoyed daily. One day, the outlets in the vanity area and the fan/light in the bedroom went out along with a problem with the entrance door not closing easily. I reported it that morning and by mid afternoon when I returned, all of the issues were resolved in a very timely manner. The front desk staff were always willing to assist with any questions I had. I will be staying with this hotel again in the future!

Service was great!!! Super comfortable, the a/c had great setting and u can control the temp from the room and the rest of the suite separetly. Loved will use again when I come back to visit.

A lot of things seemed outdated and grungy. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The TV in our room didn’t work, we told the desk and they didn’t come fix it. There were stains on the carpet, and our floor smelled like a portapotty the whole trip. Our room was big though, and the common areas are nice.

Fabulous stay from the room to the food to the staff, and cleanliness. The breakfast and the breakfast staff were OUTSTANDING! Thank you! The only thing we didn’t like was the pillows! We will be back for sure.

The room was a great size for the price. Clean but carpets could use replacing or steam cleaning. Stained! Pillows and mattresses were way too soft. After few days of sleeping on them our necks and backs were killing us. Had to ask for towels every day. Breakfast was good, very attentive kitchen staff. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

Neighbor’s dog barked for hours at 1:00 am. Staff was unable to respond so I did. Turns out they left their dog unattended for hours with no way to contact them. Not the dogs fault or the hotels. Just irresponsible dog owners.

My family loved it

The bathroom in the room as soon I went in smelled horribly like sweat, the floors in the living area and kitchen were extremely creaky and made popping sounds anytime you moved or walked on it. Other than that it was good.

The room was nice and we didn’t do much talking with the staff. I just wish they have more options beside pork because we don’t eat pork but everything was ok.

We booked exactly the same type of room. We paid $555 for 2 nights, which is not EXACTLY CHEAP. The room stank of cheap toilet cleaner the entire time. Impossible to breathe. My husband and son are both very sensitive to any type of smell. The bathroom was tiny and with rusty detailing. No spacious studio, no step in shower, as it was clearly pointed out in the description (with photos). The carpeting was disgusting to even look at, let alone step onto. A lot of water damage in the bathroom from up top. NO air whatsoever. I woke up the first night because I was literally suffocating. The breakfast was not up to par to say the least. The couch was impossible to sit on. It felt as if we were landing on the floor each time. The chair was also all stained and obviously filthy. And there was no cleaning of the room at noon. As I said, it is a totally different place we returned to. On top of it, When I came to the kitchen at 4 am someone was yanking our door handle. They came back in 45 minutes again and yanked it again. Also, it looked like someone was trying to get into our car at night through the trunk. Never again. Disappointed. I wish I could get refunded for all this unpleasantness. Photo evidence attached.

The breakfast was great with healthy choices. The room was good with a very comfortable bed and bedding. The room was clean. The pool is heated and we enjoyed the hot tub. We were quite comfortable there and would return to be sure.

Staff was super friendly & accommodating. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast was good & it was a nice touch to have coffee & tea available around the clock esp at 5:30 am when I had to leave for the airport. Only bummer was the greenish pool water. Was surprised it was open at all in March but it made being outside in the pool area less pleasant. Not a deal-breaker at all though!

The room was clean and had the kitchen supplies we needed to cook in the room. Wish we had a oven but overall everything was great.

Breakfast was good, pool area really nice with comfortable fire pits and seating. Nice area to grill and hangout. Rooms great with suite option being nice. We had issue with our AC that didn’t get resolved for over 24 hours and then somehow housekeeping skipped us and we were there for 3 nights so rat was very disappointing. Staff nice but these errors are not acceptable. Nice location in Mayfaire close to many conveniences.

The room needed some additional attention as far as cleanliness is concerned. Breakfast was great. Gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and fixed the issue we had with a tripped breaker when we first arrived.

This is our second time staying here in the span of a month. While our first room was nicer, this second one served its purpose. The bathroom had some mold on the ceiling and wall which should be addressed. The hotel breakfast area is very clean and the breakfast served was good and had lots of variety to choose from. All in all we will be staying here again. The staff is always pleasant and very helpful. That goes for everyone that we had contact with, front desk, house keeping, breakfast kitchen staff.... This is a nice place to stay.

This hotel was fantastic. We had the room that was like a small apartment. Loved having the room to move around in, the kitchen was nice, and the small living room with the couch was great to sit on. Quiet surroundings. We did not have the breakfast so idk how that was. We enjoyed having a cocktail sitting out in the courtyard near the pool.

We were very pleased with our stay.

Property location is prime, close to shopping & restaurants, no safe in the room, AC filter I had to clean, however, the worse thing I had to find out afterwards was that all rooms would accommodate pets no exceptions, I love animals, however, we have a baby with allergies so we asked for a no pet room, was told there is such thing!

Front counter lady was eating. Morning man was sleeping. No coffee. Staff just seemed to be taking up space. Men’s restroom was clogged. We love this hotel, but we had a bad experience this time. Standards have slipped sadly

My family stay was great and accommodation provided by the staff was informative and provided us to explore the community more such as local restaurants events and express community activities during our stay. Look forward to the future and the restaurant breakfast was friendly and delivered clean services to all during our stay. Stephanie was our manager and she was very welcoming and provided smiles. It was a great “ Birthday “ weekend for us and our service dog. Thanks for comfort in all families.

Location was great. Unfortunately air conditioner wasn’t working and room had an awful smell. To be fair, the staff did offer us another room. I chose not to move due to inconvenience and we were out most of the day.

We’ve been staying at Homewood Suites Mayfaire for several years. It is our favorite hotel in Wilmington NC. The staff is always pleasant and extremely accommodating for all our needs. If I have any suggestions for management, this time around I found the bedsheets were somewhat scratchy. My skin is extremely sensitive, so I noticed this as soon as getting into the bed. I hope it was a one-time thing! The breakfast is always superior and the older gentleman assisting in the breakfast area is truly a gentle lovely person.

Price was too high for this level of property

The room was pretty nice. I did notice there was carpet peeled away from the wall by the window and some mold growing. Also, the pool was green and could not be used. We were there for a soccer tournament and the kids were looking forward to the pool.

Everything was good except that the pool was green so we did not get to swim in it.

The overall is quite good. I found a piece of hair on the towels so I ended up using my own. Other than this, the room is big and breakfast is nice. The service is so good.

I had specifically requested a room with 2 queen size beds but was given a room with 1 king. While I appreciated the assumed "upgrade" it was not what I needed. The front desk clerk quickly resolved the situation and provided the room style that I requested.

We have stayed at Homewood Sui

Room TV wasn't working, so i was not able to watch the games during our stay. I called the desk and they say "you can go to the lobby to watch TV".

This hotel is definitely nearing the point where it needs a remodel. The beds are extremely firm and uncomfortable. The breakfast eggs were clearly artificial and left sitting in a steamer, making them soggy and unappetizing. The shower had almost no water pressure, making it difficult and time-consuming to bathe. Despite requesting housekeeping twice, our room was never cleaned. The pool area also appeared much smaller in person than it did in the photos.

The staff was so friendly and the environment was welcoming at every turn.

This property is located in Mayfair, which is a very nice area. There's plenty to do in the area and it's close to Wrightsville Beach. The hotel's grounds was well maintained. The inside smell very fresh, no unpleasant odors. The rooms were nice, but couldve been cleaner. There were dishes in the dishwasher and dishes in the drawers that weren't cleaned. The bathroom shower curtain was dirty. I had to call the front desk to have them replace it. The floor in the bathroom were cleaned except for behind the door. It appeared that area hadn't been mopped for a while. The beds were comfortable.The layout of the room is spacious and cozy.

This was our second stay. Great amenities. The room had a bit of a "funky" smell this visit, but not enough to deter us from staying on our next visit.

Carpet felt dirty like dust and dirt was embedded deep in the fabric.

It’s a great place. Only downfall is the housekeeping. It says they would come every other day, which was fine. So on Monday they came. They emptied 1 trash can out of 4, collected zero dirty towels, but did bring new towels, didn’t change the toilet paper roll or bring any new rolls and made zero beds. We were leaving the next day so it was fine, but that is very odd to pick and choose the portions of housekeeping you’re offering, especially when you only empty the kitchen trash and not the bathroom.

No ventilation in the bathroom and kitchen. Whole room stunk the rest of the trip after cooking in the kitchen. Our room was located by the exit door so we heard every door opening non stop all hours. Strange that the bathroom sink is not behind a door.

The bed room we were in, had a ceiling fan that didn’t work. The tv didn’t either. The tv only worked on live, couldn’t use the apps and the tv kept freezing. We couldn’t get through a show at all. Very annoying! The night front desk guy was very rude, impatient not very helpful. He hung up the phone before my daughter finished the conversation. Laney, Billy and the lady at check out on Sunday were very nice!!!!! And I would like to come back soon! Nothing was offered to be deducted from our stay with inconvenience we had in our room.

Upon arrival we were told that we would have the proper suite and was giving the complete opposite. Front desk was able to change rooms for us which was a plus. The people in the room above was pretty loud stumping even after we politely called and asked them to keep the noise down. Everything else was pretty good

This was a nice place to stay. The room was large with a comfortable king bed. Our only complaint was you had to drive everywhere (beach, garden, river, restaurants).

Great place to stay. Suite was very comfortable and quite large. Close to everything. Check-in person offered us a room upstairs in back corner because it was quieter. That was great. We could park right at the elevator and zip up to our large, quiet room. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Would definitely stay there again.

This is one of the best Hilton properties we’ve ever stayed at in Wilmington, North Carolina. The staff is friendly, the room was clean and in the area and had so many options of restaurants, shopping and fun things to do. I would recommend this property and Expedia.

Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, no fault of the hotel, our upstairs neighbors sounded like they were doing jumping jacks or running heavy footed all during the night. I would return in the future if needed, but would ask to be on the top floor.

The negative about the stay was noise. Each night we would hear what sounded like jumping, bouncing or running. This was bothersome when trying to sleep. Positive was the Breakfast variety and staff!
