Absolutely loved our room and our stay. Hallways were nice and airy. Room was so clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful.

This was a great place to stay & very convenient to the music venue that we went to as well as local restaurants. We love that you can park your car and then walk everywhere.

I like where the hotel is located in downtown Wilmington. The only thing is that parking is not free. The staff was friendly. Also the breakfast is nice and made to order omelets were great. I was surprised that didn’t have out a diary alternative at the coffee station. I didn’t ask, but I maybe they have upon request.

Wilmington is a nice little town and The Embassy Suites made our stay having a wonderful experience. I was a little disappointed with the parking lot because it was too expensive, unfortunately there was no where to park near to the hotel .

I didn't stay. I made a mistake in making two reservations one for 6/9-6/10 and one for 7/9-7/10 . I only needed 7/9-7/10. Had idea there was two reservations. There was a no show and we were charged because of the no show. Not able to get refunded.

No housekeeping cleaning at all

We loved the room. Everything was clean and neat. The common areas were awkwardly quiet. The reception area could have used some background music or even white noise. People who were there waiting on a high energy concert were speaking in hushed tones. For people who want a very serene atmosphere, this is it. Also, the pool area--while very clean--is virtually non-descript. Not inviting, echoey. But absolutely met the requirements, just no positive personality.

Very nice hotel, staff was fine. Way overcharge for their “shop” with no prices, so just don’t. Room was nice and clear, but walls are super thin and had a very rowdy set of neighbors. Breakfast is awesome

Location, cleanliness, brand Pillows were horrible and it made it very hard to sleep. They were too small and none satisfied me. The parking garage was not horrible but there’s no signage. Load in and out was hard

The pool was nice, although it looked a little bigger in the photos. The location was one of the best parts of the stay. The views were great, downtown was within walking distance, and it was easy to get to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Wrightsville Beach was also only a short drive away, which made it convenient to enjoy both the beach and downtown during the trip. My only criticism is that the property could have been cleaner, especially considering the price and overall appearance of the hotel. Even so, I had a very enjoyable stay and would consider staying here again.

Excellent hotel! Clean, beautiful. Rooms were large and luxurious. Free breakfast buffet was very good. Only suggestion I would give about the buffet is there's no large glasses in order to get water. In fact, there's no way to get water at all. Hotel is in a great location right on the river with access to the Boardwalk. Boardwalk will take you all up and down the river and to the historic area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location. Near all the downtown restaurants and river walk. Breakfast was plentiful but boring. Omelettes were rarely omelets. Hotel room floors needed to vacuumed.

Spacious rooms, free breakfast, lots of walking areas for dogs—right on the boardwalk in Wilmington! We easily walked to restaurants, shops, and attractions.

Noisy and couldn't sleep

Very nice staff and clean facilities. If I had anything to complain about it would be they charge $29 to self park or $35 for valet. If I had know that I probably would not have stayed there.

However noticed pets fur in the room and on the bed sheets. Caused some discomfort and allergies

Valet parking was a little complicated not being a techie. Lots to do in the immediate area. Right on the riverfront. Would definitely stay there again.

This place is a cut above.The room was well furnished ,bed and bedding great,room spacious with a nice sofa and tables.The location is very conducive for walking .Parking is a added cost but your car is sheltered.The staff there was gracious and helpful.

There was a funny smell and I woke up with a sinus headache, so I assume there is mold. The shower temperature was hard to regular. I ordered room service and the soup was luke warm, which was ok since they gave me a plastic spoon. I had dinner in the restaurant and the chair was full of crumbs, which the server let me brush off myself. The table was sticky from what appeared to be syrup spilled at breakfast and I squashed a bug. I expected more from a restaurant that was $20+ per meal. I will say order bread, it is excellent. The toast points were hard and burnt. To top everything off, I was billed $30 more then what was the receipt, so now I need to file a dispute. Lastly, I expected a nice patio facing the river, but the patio was small and faced condos, Fortunately, the building next door next had really comfy chairs that faced the water. So that was nice.

When spending the extra money on a riverview suite, be sure to ask them if it's a full or partial view. I was switched from my double queen to a single king and the riverview I paid extra for was barely visible. 90% of my "view" was the parking lot and building beside the property. The happy hour was mediocre with crackers, cheese, salsa, and tortilla chips. There was also a bowl of trail mix. There was limited seating so I ended up standing along the wall to eat. The breakfast was pretty much what you would expect from any major brand hotel offering a 'hot breakfast". Eggs, bacon, cereal, bagels... the norm. They did have a made-to-order omelette station which is typical for Embassy Suites. With the hotel being in such a nice area, I expected more as I have visited mulitple Embassy Suites across the country. This one was just ok.

Breakfast was delicious, we really enjoyed the happy hour and the rooftop view was spectacular! They were very nice enough to reached out to me and to hold my jacket at the front desk after I checked out and left it in the room.

Everything was great, property was well kept, staff was super nice. Rooftop bar and restaurant were fun. EV charging for my Tesla in their parking garage. Only minor inconvenience was no charging ports on the nightstands, only had a couple ports on the table lamp. But thats nit picking. I would book again and just bring my outlet charger.

The room was wonderful. Great layout, very clean. Both the Manager's Reception and Breakfast Buffet were among the best we've had. The location right on the Riverwalk was perfect! Club 9 on the rooftop was a great place to end our evening.

This hotel is right on the Riverwalk. The breakfast is excellent with fresh made omelettes available as well as many other choices. The hotel is bright and airy, and the rooms are in great condition. The only complaint that I would have is in the gym and in the access to outdoor space and there’s a small area to sit outside in, but otherwise there’s no place to just sit outside and look at the beautiful view. Unless of course it’s 4 o’clock and the rooftop bar happens to be open, but you can’t bring your family up there. The hotel should provide an outdoor space that is family friendly. A place where you can go and read a book or get some work done if you’re on a business trip, this does not exist in this hotel. In addition, the Peleton bike was not hooked up to the corporate account so it’s kind of worthless unless you have a Peloton membership and the staff had no idea how to deal with it because it’s an outside consultant taking care of it. Otherwise, it’s a great place. The pool is indoor take note.

We have now had several occasions to stay at this property. Besides being centrally located in the vibrant heart of the riverfront area it is, in and of itself, a quality hotel of the first order, with a helpful staff and great amenities. Very close to just about anything you might like to see and do in Wilmington or, on a rainy day, very much a destination in itself, including a quite nice restaurant. Highly recommended.

The breakfast each day was absolutely awesome. Only one bad experience with one of the staff on the Monday morning. She ask for our pass for breakfast (which was the only time out of 4 mornings the card was checked) and became a little rude when I explained I left it in the room. After explanning this was the first time we had been ask for the card, she said I had to produce it in order to eat. It didn’t matter that my wife and daughter was there with me and they both had their card. That was a little annoying.

We really enjoyed the breakfast, no problem with AC,room was clean and only one staff member was unfriendly don't recall her name but overall the other personal members were great

I didnt like the fact that on Saturday i made contact with the front desk about the smell of Mary Jane in the Hall and my room 510 was very strong. It was so bad that it gave me a migrain headache and it was all i could do to sleep. The room still smelled as it came thru the room vents and the odor was bad. When i went to check out on Sunday i made sure to tell the gentalman about it again and that i made contact the night before. He said thank you for letting him know and that the account was not noted. I told him i didnt want to pay for something i did not do.

when i originally booked the room it was for the 10-12th of April. I contacted the property about adding another day. I was told to book it again for the 9th thru the 10th. I was told i could merge the bookings. Before arrival i contacted the front desk since no one contacted me back. Spoke to them and i could merge for a fee due to it being a river view but would have an upcharge for the two nights. I choose to stay in the regular room but was not given a credit back for the one night i down graded.

Free breakfast is assumed to include meats. If you keep them behind plexiglass with no attendant, saving food cost but disappointing guests. Most won’t ask. Any other breakfast has the meats out on the buffet for us to serve ourselves. Ensure the beverage stations are supplied. Of the 12 taps at 9am all the juices likely out dispensing only water. Again. Saving costs. Disappointing guests. Hair nets or hats for food handlers?? NC health dept code.

Stayed here for a solo trip, it was perfect! The room was perfect along with the amenities & food, great location, plus I felt very safe. Only downside is there’s no free parking but it was very reasonable.

The daily reception was really nice before going out for the evening.

This hotel was outstanding. It met all our needs and beyond. The room with the view of the river was very scenic. The staff was welcoming and courteous. We participated in Happy hour both nights which we never do at other hotels. The offerings for breakfast were numerous and delicious. The food was so good we also dined at the hotel for dinner overlooking the river. We most definitely will stay at this hotel the next time we visit Wilmington.

This was the first hotel that we’ve stayed at in a long time where from beginning to end was all very good. My only complaint is the bartender that was serving late at night continually was sneezing and wiping his nose with his hands, but I never saw him wash his hands after. However, we will return and stay at this hotel again later this year.

The only negative bump in the road was the breakfast omelette chief on Monday morning seemed to be bothered that he was on duty and a general bad attitude towards us ordering our omelette.

Yes, the omelet cook Christopher was great! The reception wasnt what we expected, snacks were low and not topped up. The room was clean however water pressure was terrible. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Everything about the stay was great. Staff in their Steam restaurant at the bar were fantastic. Great service, even during an accidental fire alarm. Breakfast was solid, the cook was terrific. Only complain was the pillows. Not joking, they were way too fluffy, super annoying.

They have a restaurant on site (also with a nice river view), and a rooftop but it was close for the season. The hotel is locate it at walking distance to downtown’s shops and restaurants. I will definitely come back but this time with my dogs.

Excellent stay overall. My main complaint is terrible water pressure in the shower. I assume this is Embassy Suites policy for all their hotels, so I in no way blame this particular property. Staff couldn’t be friendlier or more efficient. Facility is super-clean. Without a doubt I would recommend.

Room was a great size. There were five of us and we fit comfortably. The location was great. Quick walk to the National Mall. Breakfast was very good. We went at peak times and still were able to get a table and the lines were not too long. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Room HVAC was outdated and difficult to control. Door to bath was charming but lacked privacy needed when three guests were in the room. Guest amenities for sale had lots of room and limited selections. No Room seemed pricey for a what felt like a three star.

Place seemed pretty empty and the front desk older guy wouldn't give us a 12pm checkout.

We enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites Wilmington Riverfront! It is a newer hotel and it was very clean! The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful! We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area.

Dogs barking at all hours of the day. Nowhere on Expedia indicates that is a pet friendly hotel. We changed rooms twice and twice the room next to us there were dogs barking. So, think about it before booking if you are looking for a quite time !

Favorite hotel in Wilmington! Excellent location on the river walk that's convenient to restaurants and walking. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the breakfast is delicious - especially the made to order omelette station (with the best staff working there!)

The front check-in staff were amazing and so were the valet crew. Room was very clean and comfortable. Was happily surprised how clean the indoor pool and fitness area were! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was very tasty, and the morning breakfast was good as well. I would stay there again.

Check in is at 4. I got there at 430 and rooms were not ready. I found kibble in the bathroom. I didn’t take a dog. Stains on walls. Eyeliner on Mirror. Overall dirty mirror. Breakfast was free. Friendly staff.

Staff was amazing, in room dining was delicious, and the views from the room and rooftop really topped the stay off. The breakfast was meh and the crust of the french toast was hard to cut and chew.

We were there for only 2 nights, but did not get any housekeeping services. We needed trash removal and wxtra paper products and could not find any housekeeping. The shower faucet had issues. Not awful, but unremarkable.

Amazing Experience

We were out early morning and out the whole day and when we came back, the room and bathroom not cleaned at all. The breakfast was not great. The staff making omelet was also grumpy and you have to ask for bacon and sausage. It was not on the buffet table.overall breakfast was mediocre. The hotel should ask tips on how to run a hotel from embassy suites hotel San Antonio Riverwalk. That embassy suites knows how to run a hotel.

The property was great and had an awesome location. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar.

We arrived a little early and we were told our room was not ready and would be ready in 20 to 30 minutes. We went to have a drink and came back in an hour. Room still not ready. Not allowed to park there so left again. Got a call the room was ready. Returned to almost nowhere to unload. There is only a small circle at the entrance to unload and the parking is in a garage around the block. Nothing they can do about this, but just be aware of it when you book. Room was okay, but no space to hang clothes and view of the parking garage. Included breakfast had a nice omelet bar and limited other choices. Only fruit was cantaloupe and watermelon. Would have been nice to have blueberries, strawberries, grapes or something to put on my cereal. I appreciated they included 2 drinks per day per person at an afternoon happy hour. This was an unexpected plus. In the morning I brought the car from the parking lot to the entrance to load it. The attendant approached and I told him I was just loading. As I entered the hotel another attendant asked for my key. I told him I was just loading. He again insisted. I repeated I was just loading and pointed out I was the only car there. He said it was procedure and he needed my keys. I ignored him and got our luggage and came back to load. Still the only car there.

Great access to the waterfront river walk and the convention center. Nice rooms and common areas. Starbucks in lobby, breakfast area and restaurant on second floor, bar on rooftop.

The property is in a very good place and the band was excellent Friday night.

All in all it was a great trip... love the location, close enough to walk to downtown bars and shops but far enough away to still be quiet. The food was wonderful, the rooftop bar was amazing! The beds are really hard and uncomfortable to me though, but otherwise the staff are the best!

Close to all the shops and dining. Comfortable room. Easy check in. We were able to walk to all of our destinations. We also did the sailboat sunset tour and was able to walk to it.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The cocktail hour and breakfast were amazing. And the view is perfect!

We gave up the Hotel Ballast for the Rooftop at the Embassy Suites, but we shouldn't have.

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, everything seemed to be perfect. Nice room. On site restaurant Steam is fantastic. Quiet and clean. Right on the river and the River Walk.

There was no shampoo, bed sheets had blood, towels were raggedy and stained with lipstick. Had to ask to have our room cleaned three days after complaining. Could be a great hotel if managed properly.

We ended up leaving a day early for two events: first, the next door occupants were up until late into the early morning; second, the air conditioning went out around midnight. When we went down to the desk to explain, they were basically like "just check out". We were never offered another room or anything.

Just a quick one night stay. Enjoyed the Happy Hour and free breakfast. Parking was convenient

We had a queen suite. The perfect setup- comfortable beds. The breakfast was AMAZING. Order omelettes to your personal specifications. Friendly staff. Super clean comfortable beds. On an amazing boardwalk of river. Amazing dining area. Two things that were somewhat of a concern however I will mention them briefly as I don’t want to take away that this is a must stay. 1. Housekeeping mishap. I want to return to my room with beds changed and be able to tell someone has cleaned the room. Manager handled situation with grace and understanding 2. Had beautiful breakfast this morning. A homeless person had somehow gotten up onto the dining floor. A woman confronted him in front of everyone and told him the breakfast was for guests only( I understand the policy) I just felt this could have been handled better. She kind of humiliated him in front of everyone. I almost said he was with me lol but didn’t think quick enough. Again while I understand the policy I think management could have dealt with this as he exited the lobby. Shrug But overall 5 plus stars

Easy, clean, and convenient

Restaurant host (or manager) walked right past me several times and didn’t acknowledge me or asked if I needed to be seated even though he seen me standing there several minutes. I had to walk in and ask the bartender to be seated. The toilet in my room had urine stains under the seat. The bed was uncomfortable. Broken ironing board in the room.

We absolutely love this place and we’re very picky. The room and facility is clean and comfortable. They offer two nightly drinks for those over 21. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Everything was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back!

This was a nice, cool room in the midst of summer heat. We could walk to our concert venue and visit wonderful shops and restaurants. Such a great location for visiting Wilmington! And all staff were kind and helpful.

We go to this hotel a few times a year on a quick overnight getaway. This time the bed was terrible, very worn and there were a few stains on one of the pillow cases. But we absolutely love this hotel and will be back. hopefully to a better bed next time.

We’ve come here a few years in a row now, and we’ll most likely be back! Staff was mostly very helpful and polite. We like the setup in the water and close to old Wilmington so we can easily walk and explore all it has to offer! So glad to have discovered this hotel. Didn’t really like the barking dog in the room next door, but otherwise another great stay.

This is an an awesome hotel on the River walk. Just step and your adventure will begin with sights, sounds and amazing food.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites in Wilmington. The location was convenient to our activities and had some great amenities like the pool, restaurants and bar located on property. Most of the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. My only critique was for the Front Desk staff. While they were not outright rude, they were not very welcoming. I never once received a smile or "welcome in" from anyone working the front desk. The automated text messaging service was more friendly than the front desk staff. Thankfully that demeanor did not translate to the rest of the staff who were all very welcoming and kind.

The property is close to the RiverWalk and lots of shops/site seeing. The hotel feels secure and clean. The three star rating is due the breakfast bot being good...from the coffee to the pancakes, there are too many local places to eat that are good to waste time at the hotel. The man that checked us in felt disinterested, barely made eye contact with us and it felt more like ge was doing US a favor. I would've have mentioned it except he was nicer to other guests. I looked like a bum after driving 9 hours to get there and he treated us accordingly, which I did not appreciate.

Only one cook on breakfast line. No bacon or sausage on self serve buffet line. Had to wait for cook to serve. Long line.

I enjoyed the manager's reception and the convenience of the parking deck to the hotel. It's very convenient to the Riverwalk. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast. There was a lot of items not available and what was available was cold. This was quite different from past stays where the food was excellent. I guess we all have bad days. Overall it was a positive experience.

Expedia canceled my reservation before I checked in.

The room we were first assigned to was noisy but the next day they moved us to another room and it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

They had a water dryer in the hall for the two days. Paying $400. Night was a joke for. Two star hotel. I booked through your company and they charged me me $338 a night! Wow. I thought it was cheaper through your company. At check out, I could not find a cart and had to make three trips to get my bags.

If I stood on a chair, I could see over the buffer wall outside the window on the second floor. At that point I could see water. Hence a ' water view ' ? Lesson learned..

We stayed in a river view two room suite. It was perfect for my wife, me, and my three boys. There are at least a dozen walkable restaurants, shopping, and a train museum right next door. We stayed for a concert at the Live Oak Pavilion. The walk was very easy even with kids. Would highly recommend this spot.
