Aloft by Marriott Wilmington at Coastline Center

Earlier in the day, we finished our ceremony ahead of schedule & called to ask about an early check-in. The front desk told us our rooms were not ready but offered a room with a historic view instead. I specifically asked whether, if we waited until regular check-in time, we would still receive the 2 King Corner Rooms w/ balconies & river views that we had reserved. I was told yes, so we decided to wait. When we arrived around 4:30 PM, only one room matched our reservation. The 2nd room was a historic-view room. While staff noted that there was a view of the battleship from one side of the room, the balcony overlooked rooftops, HVAC equipment, & a parking area rather than the river. Since the river-view balcony was the primary reason I selected & paid for these rooms, this was extremely disappointing. The hotel did refund $90 for the difference in room category, which I appreciated. However, the refund did not change the fact that we did not receive the rooms we had reserved. I also found the overall value underwhelming. At roughly $350 per room, amenities were minimal. The coffee bar was an additional charge, each room included only one complimentary bottle of water & bedding/ pillows felt cheap.

I loved staying at the Aloft. Location was great and close to restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were super cute and clean. Will definitely be back.

Fees aren't really discussed. A card is requested to put on hold. They hold $100.00 without telling you. They held $40.00 for parking for two days and only returned $40.00. Other than mystery charges, it's good.

One of the sinks faucets splashed a lot of water on the counter. The coffee shop was slow to fill orders when we left.

The staff were amazing and very helpful. The one thing that bothered me was the room felt unclean. The shower floor was dirty and brown, to the point I wore shoes into the shower. After the shower and the floor was wet, I dried off the floor with a towel and the towel immediately turned black from the dirt on the floor. Other than that everything was great. The food at the rooftop bar was SO good!!!

Paid for high level upper floor suite overlooking water.Received regular room on 2nd floor overlooking garbage dumpster. Was told that was the only room available. Later that evening was walking by front desk as a guest was checking in. Guest Was told his room was on sixth floor overlooking the water. Manager was unresponsive when I asked why we got a terrible room and this other person got the room I should’ve had. High parking fees. Don’t stay here

I was looking for something different from the typical hotel room. Loft style sounded interesting. I should have read more reviews that referred to the lack of amenities and the fact that it’s really just a place to sleep, one or 2 nights. I don’t think I’d book ALoft again because the hardwood floors (only one small area rug) were not comfortable and there was no place to sit for a moment and relax. There is a breakfast table which my husband liked. There is no traditional dresser ( only a 2-drawer cabinet in the bathroom). The bathroom counter has plenty of space, but the sink faucet was not placed correctly so water went all over the floor until we learned that you can only let the water flow at a trickle. Also, there was no cold water from the sink. On the plus side, the desk staff were excellent and there is a really great rooftop bar/ restaurant which was so appealing that we went there 3 times in 3 days. The bartender and waitstaff there were very accommodating, and the river views were extraordinary.

In addition you had to pay to park if you didn't just get the valet service unless you could find a spot at the hotel

Location was great. Friendly staff at reception and (paid) parking. Roof-top: entertaining and friendly, observant staff. Rooms question of taste. Industrial design look. Not cozy and appealing. Minimalistic furniture, no wardrobe, just a ladder rack. No hangers for shirts or pants. Room clean, but air conditioning insufficient, could not handle the high humidity, bed-sheets damp and uncomfortable. Morning coffee-bar a Joke.

The location was great. There were several things that were broken in the room. The toilet seat came off in my hand. The silicone strip on the shower door was hanging off and the shower gel pump didn’t work.

The location and views were very nice. The shower and especially the shower head was wonderful. Paying to park is an overcharge. Hotels in good locations already cost more. We were initially given room 424. The door to the balcony cut my husband's finger (front staff seemed already aware that door room was a problem). The room was not cleaned properly (toilet seat had someone else's dried pee all over it. Then we moved to 324 (balcony door better) but the fridge was apparently unplugged the whole time and caused a puddle of water from the defrost - which is not safe. Overall it seems these rooms were not inspected before given to guests.

We were so grateful to get two rooms at Aloft while in town for the Ironman event. Our original reservations made through the event organizer were changed at the last minute to a hotel that was 30 minutes away and not pet-friendly. Aloft was available, and the staff was very welcoming. Being at the center of the activity made our stay much more meaningful. What a wonderful community!

Stayed here for a girls weekend. The room was comfortable and location was perfect. We didn't use any hotel amenities except for the rooftop bar, which was convenient and had a nice selection of drinks. Parking was limited, but we were able to find a spot even though we arrived late.

The best shower ever - hot and amazing water pressure! I love the layout of the rooms at ALoft - it just makes sense. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious enough for two people. Can’t say enough good things!

It can be tricky to find the front door of this hotel. Parking is difficult since one area is shared by 3-4 other hotels. Best option is probably to valet (~25/day).

It pains me to leave a bad review on Marriott property as I usually enjoy staying at this chain but this was definitely not worth of over $600 for 2 nights. The room was not stocked up and there was a dead bug on the floor. Limited parking so we had to valet. Only good thing was that it was close to the Riverwalk area. I’d not come back or recommend this property.

Staff was friendly, lobby is spaciousness with plenty of seating. Check in was great. They gave us an extra parking pass for the day for my friends son who was visiting with us for the day which I thought was awesome. It’s walkable to everything downtown. The beds are super comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. I would def stay again.

It was a wonderful stay. The room was huge they gave us an accessible room so the bathroom shower got water everywhere I do wish they could figure out a way to make that not happen in accessible rooms. Other than that it was beautiful we could see the river and boats from our room. Would totally stay again.

Not only was the staff gracious snd accommodating at no time did they rush us to finish our very late dinner. I would also like to recognize Ella, at the front desk who was polite, professional and ensured we were greeted by name during our 3 day stay!

We made three attempts to go to our room. Each room was filthy. Beds unmade, dirty towels, trash and clothes left in rooms. Supervisor went to get us a room, and it does not appear one is clean for us to stay in. We have been offered $20 off for breakfast as compensation as we still sit and wait for a room.

Attendant charged me twice for parking…and it’s a surface lot with no valet in a gussied up warehouse district. $20 for a surface lot (that hasn’t been slated following a snowstorm) is already too much. To charge it twice suggests negligence.

I prefer smaller hotels and not chains, but in fact this one was perfectly located and the staff and facilities were great.

I prefer smaller hotels and not chains, but in fact this one was perfectly located and the staff and facilities were great.

The place was spotless. The room was small, which I expected. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a comfy chair in the room. Other than that, I was thrilled with my stay.

Great location and staff was very friendly. (Brian at Front Desk). I was disappointed however with a few "surprises". Parking Fee: Never saw notice of a $20 Parking Fee posted or explained anywhere! Not until checkout did I see the Fee -on my Bill. The next surprise was the Pet Fee. I've stayed at other ALOFTs where there wasn't a pet fee so I was surprised to see that charge on my Bill too. I hate surprises. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Modern hotel with a boutique feel that is very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and it located right on the river. Also it’s very dog friendly with good places to walk. The staff was super nice. We enjoyed it so much we came back on our return trip to stay. Wilmington is a great stopover for those long north-south trips.

In my bed, I found long black hair, even though I am all blonde with gray hair. In the sink, I found Dirty leftover of green toothpaste and short black hair. This is additional complaint. I’m sharing with you which I think was not hospitable. At the front desk, people been very short did not even try to explain us where we can get the food on the premises. When we decided to buy a bottle of wine from the little shop, receptionist hand us a bottle of wine, and did not even offer glass. That was quite shocking that we had to drink wine straight out of bottle. We had two bedrooms, three people. We all worked in hospitality industry, and this was simply embarrassing to us. Sorry about this review, but since the manager never got back to us to knowledge the situation I had to tell somebody.

Fix it 3 times without success. They didn’t show up the other 2 times I requested it to be fixed. The shower drain was clogged and water was all over the floor. I used my towels to clean it up, and room service didn’t bring me new towels. I was left With 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth for 3 days. The Manager was never available or on duty to help me with my issues.

The beds were very comfortable. I loved the bathroom! The shower had great water pressure and the lighting in the bathroom was nice for putting my makeup on and doing my skincare. I liked that the parking deck was nearby so didn’t have to worry about finding a spot to park. Checking in and out was easy and the front desk people were very kind and helpful. I would definitely come here again.

Details were not clear with booking .Dirty towel found under the bed and finger prints noted all over fridge.No microwave in suite and they charged 20.00 a day for parking.We had to ask for extra linen for the pull out sofa bed.Pets were allowed but could not be left in the room to enjoy eating out etc.

Easiest check in that I have ever had. Spacious room, double queen. Pleasant staff. Arrived on 4th of July so it is busy in the area and the restaurant is only serving drinks. Pricey but for the location it is great.

The all-in-one washer and dryer needs to be replaced with separate washer and dryer units. Our clothes did not dry although we just had a small amount of clothing for each machine. Need to offer room service

Super convenient walkable location to downtown. The downstairs area had a great game area for socializing attached to the bar as well. Nice way to beat the heat. Rooms were comfortable though the doors are very heavy.

Absolutely love this chain hotel, always so beautiful inside and out. Staff was kind. I left my necklace behind and realized shortly after, I called and they had it put aside for me. Offered to ship it out but I was still close enough to swing back around.

I did not like the fact that my wife booked me a room that was supposed to have a king size bed and a balcony with a river view but instead I got a “suite” with 2 full size beds in it on the first floor with the view being the parking lot. I was told that I that I had the option to receive that room or a room facing the garbage compactor. I did not appreciate that at all. The guy at the counter was very nice but I did not receive what was paid for. Also I was charged an extra $172 which I had no knowledge of until I checked in. When my wife booked, she was never informed of this. This was my Father’s Day gift and it was not enjoyable at all. The bathroom shower also was dirty and water splashes everywhere with no shower door. And the curtain was dirty too. Overall the hotel decent and the front desk staff was nice. But I am not happy about not receiving what we paid for. And paying extra at check in

Parking was limited but Valet service was only $5 per day more than the self park option. Well worth the extra $5 tip. Restaurant and roof top bar were great. Scenic views of the river were beautiful. Room was clean with a great view of the river. Highly recommend this hotel.

When we went to check in the front desk, Operator was not available for almost 45 minutes and nobody could locate them then we were treated very rudely
