The Quoin Hotel
About The Quoin Hotel
In the 1880s this brownstone banked gold bars and prized heirlooms. Now it houses treasures of a different kind as its boutique hotel rebirth brings it into a new gilded age. Sleep in rooms and suites that blend original detailing - think feature arched windows - with modern luxury details. Whichever you choose it promises relaxation and refinement courtesy of Aesop bathing treats and Lavazza machines for your morning espresso. When it comes to dinner there are three restaurants and bars to whet appetites. The Quoin Restaurant stands at the heart of the hotel dining scene and serves contemporary interpretations of Northern Italian ingredients. There is a patio here too for alfresco aperitifs. Meanwhile the Rooftop presides over downtown Wilmington and is just the spot for small plates and sips at sunset. Or step into the depths of the old bank vaults to discover Simmer Down. Pull up a vintage-style stool at this glamorous craft cocktail lounge and raise a glass to the high society riches once stored down here. The Quoin Hotel is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

Everything was perfect! Such a great staff and beautiful hotel.

Location, in the older downtown is a bit isolated -- not a really walkable area. Hotel's minimal breakfast: coffee, oranges, a few pastries, is especially constricting, given that there are no sit-down options for a bigger breakfast nearby.

Fabulous!

Really liked this hotel - just book it!

Only complaint was the lack of amenities in the bathroom and there was no counterspace. Towels can also be upgraded given the hotel price.

From the moment we arrived, the level of hospitality and genuine kindness stood out. Alec, the manager, was incredibly thoughtful and took great care with our reservation, making sure everything felt special and seamless for such a meaningful trip. Ms. Dana was equally wonderful, despite our late arrival, she went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed. She truly made us feel so celebrated and well cared for! What made this stay so memorable wasn’t just the beautiful space, but the spirit of hospitality from the entire team. You can feel that they truly care about their guests and the experience they create. We’re so grateful to have started our honeymoon here, it set the tone for the rest of our trip in the best way.

Beautiful quaint hotel. Lovely staff.

We picked this hotel because it was close to the Wilmington (DE) train station. It proved to be far more than adequate _ very friendly and welcoming staff, charming comfortable rooms. My only small disappointment is that they only put out coffee and some pastry in the morning — not enough for a real breakfast. We found a pleasant cafe nearby, though.

Wonderful staff and owners. Really went above and beyond when we had to stay extra nights due to a major snow storm!! Beautiful hotel

Location was good, room was spotless, and the amenities were nice. Only thing I did not like was the over starched sheets.

Staff was very nice, and accommodating upon early arrival. The room was large and lovely arched windows.

An absolutely perfect stay at Quoin! A beautiful space - with no detail left unnoticed. The on site restaurant is beautiful - great ambient lighting and decor. A beautiful bar on one side and an open kitchen on the other. I arrived late but was still able to order room service. The pasta was herby and delicious and was delivered promptly to my room. The room itself was spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The comfy bed, beautiful seating area and gorgeous bathroom felt just like home - but better! The housemade pastries and coffee in the lobby for breakfast were great, and the front desk attendants made me feel very welcome. My only regret? That I was only in town for one night. Truly an incredible and memorable stay - perfect for a solo business traveler, but, I would imagine, even better for a fun weekend away with friends or a special someone.
