This was the best hotel I’ve experienced , nothing was out of place very clean ,smells really good , the quality of everything was 10/10 breakfast was good, everyone was nice and spoke , I think even the own Mr Salvatore made appearances with the uniform on overall an amazing experience highly recommended and will be staying again

Entire staff very welcoming, dinner was amazing and Chris my waiter helpful and excellent service. Breakfast was also wonderful. Mr. Salvatore was always on site insuring guests are enjoying their stay.

A little disappointed about the breakfast. Stayed three days, and breakfast was the same items each day.

The room was quite large with lots of chairs. However, the towels were a little woren and fraying on the edges. Going into the Hotel at the far end if the building, the two large ashtrays were overflowing and very unkempt. We went to the bar on friday night and initially, there were no servers serving the tables. We stood at the bar for ages and not one bartender serving the 'bar' clients acknowledged us standing there, we were about to take an uber to another bar ti watchbthe hockey game. Didnt wow us.

Front desk staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room was beautiful and impeccably clean. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. We enjoyed drinks and dinner and it was all fantastic!

Clean and smashing service

The room was very clean. We were close to both the elevator and ice machine and it was not noisy. The breakfast was hot and provided a good variety for every taste. The scrambled eggs were fresh, light and fluffy. However my main complaint is the WiFi did not work in our room. When I spoke to the ladies at the front desk they said they could do nothing about that and that it happened all the time. I take exception with that. It is 2025/26. If your WiFi does not work in different parts of the hotel then your carrier is not providing good service. They should be consulted and the problem should be rectified. I expected to do work and conduct video calls from my room and could not. I had to go to Tim Hortons to conduct business. It was very inconvenient. If you want to be recognized as a top-rated hotel, please do better.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for a Bills game. The hotel is unique. I love how wide the hallways are and all the pictures and frames on the wall. The room feels like a time warp but in a good way. Breakfast was good with a good selection and friendly staff. The hotel is located on a street with many food options nearby as well as lots of shopping. It's about less than a half hour drive from Highmark stadium so it was rather convenient. I would recommend staying here!

The hotel is stately, beautiful and elegantly decorated and furnished. The rooms are very large. However the rooms are very dated and do not have any usb outlets. The elevator was out of order. The breakfast was on par with a typical holiday inn express type breakfast, which was quite disappointing. The staff was very responsive and accommodating.

This was a journey back in time to a Vegas style experience circa 1985. Everything is in good shape and the steakhouse was excellent.

The place is a very nice old school hotel and a fixture in the area. Housekeeping in pretty loud so don't expect to be able to sleep in. check in staff was very nice

The facilities were very well maintained. We encountered only pleasant staff. The breakfast bar was delicious and the breakfast attendant was especially pleasant. This was one of the best hotel visits we had in a long time.

It is a GRAND hotel. I was most pleased - and it wasn't overly expensive.

Lovely hotel. Owner is visible and property was run efficiently. While property was clean, the bed and pillows could use a refresh. Pillows were very hard and bedding was old. Overall, we would stay here again! Price and convenience is worth it!

We were able to check in a bit early which worked out for us . The staff was very nice and helpful . The hotel and room were clean and very nice . Only stayed one night. Next time will try the steak house . Will definitely stay here again.

We have eaten Russell's steakhouse many times but never stayed at the hotel. We had a trip and needed to stay overnight. This hotel was extremely reasonable and comparable to other hotels in the area and was above and beyond any of our expectations.

It was very nice place to stay. We didn’t pack enough nice clothes to enjoy the top of the line Steakhouse restaurant. But the rooms and staff was excellent. If we ever go watch the Steelers kick the Bills butts that’s where we’re staying for sure.

Excellent stay - went for a “girls weekend” with my daughter. If I HAD to find one new thing to fault on it would be the hot tubs going on late in the rooms around us however we had no trouble going back to sleep. Hotel was clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay at again. It was nice not having to smell signs of cigarettes in the rooms. Next time we will try out the restaurant for dinner. We also appreciated the low priced vending machines!

I will say, I think the Keurig in my room might need replacing, as the coffee wasn’t as hot as we are accustomed to. Also the toilet was a bit weak in flushing, a couple times it didn’t flush at all. ???? We stayed in room 113. Overall, we had a ‘Grand’ experience, and even got to meet Mr. Russ, as he was greeting dinner guests at the reservation desk!

Great hotel

Rooms are well-appointed, including the bath. Staff is friendly and efficient. Location a few miles west of Buffalo off I-90 is super convenient. In-house restaurant plus many other nearby options. The property has all the benefits of a nearby Marriott, but with its own character.

Very comfortable

The breakfast is just so so. The room is not very clean. It seems need some renivation. The floor was nit even. When you are in the room, you can easily hear the voices outside your room.

It was our first stay in Buffalo and it was fitting to enjoy an establishment so rich in history.

Didn't try the on site restaurant. Not particularly close to anything (30 min to Buffalo, Nigeria, or Canada). Would absolutely stay again if in Buffalo area. Worth mentioning that the hotel is a bit of a shrine to the owner. Newspaper articles, busts, award, everywhere. Every room has a copy of his autobiography. A reserved parking spot for his powder blue roadster...He might be the most amazing guy ever but it seems a little weird.

We stayed for 3 days at the property. It has a charm to it. A lamp or two were not working in the room but overall we loved our stay.

I don't recommend this place. It was unsettlingly strange.

Have always enjoyed staying at the original hotel and now this one. Was a little bit disappointed this trip though. I ordered something off the menu that was listed as a “Lite Bite” for $28 but when I went down to pick up my meal to take it back to my room, I was charged 62. I was told I had to order at the bar for that price. What? Also was not given silverware and when I got to my room, the food was cold. Someone did try to reach out to me twice to discuss. I called the number back and no one answered. I will stay there again for sure, but it was just disappointed and confused how something could be $28 if I ate at the bar but 62 if I took out to my room?

This property was amazing. It was older, but you can tell the fixtures, such as the furniture, bathroom fixtures, tile, etc., were higher end and well maintained. Though a large hotel, the owner was still around, carrying dishes, greeting guests and making sure all was well ( despite being around 90 years old. The free breakfast was an amazing buffet. The room was very clean and comfortable.

This hotel is gorgeous! The room was spacious, huge jaccuzi, sink and mirror outside of bathroom was great. Lots of nice touches. Very highly recommend.

The bed was very comfortable. Most people staying here were over 65 fyi. Very convenient location near the airport and restaurants.

Hotel is still amazing but you can tell its nostalgic. We had issues with the AC in our room but when mentioned to the front desk the took care of it immediately. We went out for a couple hours and when we returned they had replaced the unit in our room! That was crazy. Air jacuzzi tub worked just fine. Only other things I noticed was some wallpaper separating from the wall and, what appeared to be, gum stuck to the floor. Hotel is definitely cared for. The Memorial Park next door is awesome. For the price however, I would expect more than powdered eggs and dry potatoes each morning. You will not regret staying here but just temper your expecitations.

This hotel was an unexpected treasure. We found this on Expedia and stayed based on ratings which were spot on! A home away from home charming, elegant, great location with all the amenities needed for a comfortable fun stay.

Definitely one of the nicest places we've EVER stayed at. When we saw the price and hotel name, we thought it was a disconnect. When we arrived, you could see it was one of a kind. You learn that Russel Salvatore, who the place is named after, is an extraordinary man. When you walk in, it's just an incredibly beautiful place. The room was ornate and spotless. Wonderful breakfast included left us wishing we weren't just passing through. Worth going out of your way to stay here.

This is such a beautiful place! Our only complaint was that for having a stunning restaurant attached, the complimentary breakfast for guests is subpar. It would be nice to have more flavor an options for this level of a hotel.

Customer service must be number 1 in their business plan because it comes across in everything they do for their guests. Older style hotel which gives it character and charm - the way grand hotels use to be. Older looking rooms but spacious, very clean and comfortable.

Overnight, hotel is like a trip to ‘70s Las Vegas in terms of decor. That being said it is comfortable and clean.

I loved the place. There were 2 very small issues which I can't blame them for because I didn't report them. I'm sure that if I'd have asked them to take care of them they would have. I couldn't get the microwave to work, and I was unable to adjust the temperature on the air conditioner/heater, but the temperature in the room was really pretty good so I said nothing. And I didn't really need the microwave. The breakfast was very nice and it was great having the airport shuttle available. I would stay there again if I was back in the area again.. It had the highest rating of all the ones I looked at booking.
