An excellent property to consider staying at. Far enough away from a big city, but close enough to a vibrant and very welcoming local entertainment district with many different dining and entertainment options that are easily within walking distance. As for the property, it is in very good order, clean throughout with very attentive, warm, and hospitable staff. And as for the room, it was incredibly spacious and well apportioned, without a single defect in sight. Would definitely book a stay here again or recommend to others.

Booked 2 King Suites. Rooms are spacious. There was no sofa bed so we had a rollaway brought in. Suggestions include: adding a long mirror- there’s plenty of wall space and no long wardrobe mirror. There’s a desk area but no pad of paper or pen. Water is $3.00 bottle (2 bottles should be included in the room) overall room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff was friendly.

The hotel was amazing, it was a little pricey, I think for the price of the hotel they should a least give you a free bottle of water and happy hour at the bar maybe half price well drinks there not much around the hotel it seems that it’s in a residential area.

Pros. It was quiet where i was at with dining walking distance. Clean and good staff. Cons no room service until 4 pm which I didn't expect. So i went to eat breakfast downstairs and the food was limited. Housekeeping comes every other day. Overall it served my needs.

Bathroom we had was really tiny. That’s my only gripe. That and the one lady host who made eye contact with me when I was trying to check in and didn’t say a word. The other gentleman eventually asked me if I needed help. We didn’t have time to use the amenities. Self parking was good. There’s a great Mexican spot across the street with great breakfast offerings.

The desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They took good care of us. Our room was clean. We did not use the bar or have breakfast at the bar. However, we enjoyed staying at the hotel because it was safe, clean, and had plenty of places to eat and have coffee within walking distance.

Room was clean and tidy. The shower was terrible. It’s leaked every where and the shower head dribbles with pressure. It sucks being in the heat all day wanting to take a nice shower and you have to stand underneath a kinked garden hose.

Hours of operation on the restaurant was not posted in lobby and no menu in the room. When I brought it to the manager's attention she too provided incorrect information with an poor "unprofessional " attitude. However, i did receive excellent customer service from Sonya at the front desk and Andrea from room service.

The bathroom had some rust on some of the fixtures and just didnt seem as clean as you expect from a Hilton. The air wasnt working on check in but they did respond quickly to fix it.

Our fridge had a bad smell like Italian dressing and the bathtub had a slow drain really slow TV was on a timer which we’ve stayed there before and didn’t have one the the staff we decided to stay one more night talk to the lady staff not very friendly these manager male we had before is very nice and accommodating he makes you feel special this lady was oh well you get what you paid for and unless we’re VIP we can’t get any of the benefits she said not very friendly kind of cold

I had heard that this property had undergone some recrnt renovations, and it showed! Everything was fresh and updated; the pool area was particularly lovely. The staff were all attentive and friendly. It is a great asset to the Whittier community to have such a terrific hotel property right in Uptown. Price was very good considering the quality of the amenities. Would definitely recommend!

The Gym was in excellent condition

The night i checked in was a nightmare. The hotel room key would not open my room. After going to the front desk and back to trying to open my room with my luggage 3 times i was escorted by secuirty and they had to open my room. The next morning i explain to a new front desk agent what happened, he took my key and said this key is the wrong type of key, gave me a new key and then it worked. The sink faucet has to be open all the way otherwise no water comes out, there was a womans hair strand in the tub.

I got the room that was ground floor with a patio and TBH it definitely was nothing like the pictures. There wasn't any view of the pool it was literally brown brick walls surrounding the patio and it was kind of creepy he was a little scary he looked like Prison Walls or something definitely did not use the patio for that reason aside from that everything else is great breakfast was excellent

I did like the gym. It would have been nice to have 2 benches as I had to wait an hour as there is only 1 bench

Room was clean and tighty, check in was easy and at check out we made the mistake of not leaving on time and the front desk was very understanding and allowed us a few extra minutes to get out.

Bathroom towels only have 2 bath towels there was four people in reservation. No extra bedding was given for sofabed came with one blanket which had a big hole in it,no sheet and one pillow. Didn't have many outlets to charge phone had one that was outdated. There is coffee for two but only comes with 2 very small creamers not even enough for 2 cups of coffee.. We paid over 300 hundred dollars would expect better from Double Tree Hilton. The worst part was i called after our stay because we left a hat behind in closet when i called i was told i need to wait till guest check out next day, if room was cleaned and checked properly had should have been found by staff unless they have stolen it. And another thing had lots of parking outside but almost every car was parked incorrectly so we could not fit without banging cars.

I was traveling solo for work nearby. The room was clean, I felt very safe, and the staff was pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this property.

The room smelled of sweat and so did the pillows. There was no water pressure in the shower. If there's not enough water pressure in the building you should put hoses on them so a guy can rinse off the soap.

The hotel was was easy to get to from where we had an event to go to (Hacienda Heights). Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, not very soundproof. Nice, crisp cotton bed sheets; the bed is high which may be an accessibility problem for disabled people. TV remote/interface a cranky. Setting room temperature was a little tricky; I don't think the thermostat actually did anything, it seems the heat pump/AC wall unit actually does the work. Sink drain was slow but TBH most hotels have this problem. I'd have to say the biggest problem was the parking lot. The spaces are sized for subcompact cars and I worried leaving my rental car there, after watching several people with large trucks and SUVs attempting to squeeze into the narrow spaces. We stayed from Thurs-Sat, and there was quite a bit of street noise, from people out and about and fire engines/ambulances. There's a Mexican grocery store open until 9:00 pm, just a shot walk away for snacks and drinks. Altogether a very good, if unremarkable (which can be a plus), short stay for me and my elderly mom.

After I checked out, the hotel dropped a charge it or then erroneously charge that same amount twice on my credit card. After I called them on the phone three days later, the girl was defensive on the phone and made a quick quick of stating I had seen some towels. I in fact did not stay in any towels, and I filed a grievance through my bank.

This is my second time staying here. Excellent, like before. The room is clean and comfortable. The front desk goes above and beyond. I especially appreciate the accommodation for my early check-in. I will certainly be back to this property!

The walls and ceilings in this hotel must be made of cardboard, I could hear every word from the room next to mine. I was fortunate to be able to change room but the view from my new room was overlooking a parking lot instead of the pool area. The room was clean but not very charming. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is pretty depressing, I had breakfast in the hotel the first morning but once was enough, it was poor and expensive.

my room was clean there is no ramp to go down to lower parking structure from venue near it I could of gone away but i didnt want to go ALL the way around. my choice. your front desk wasnt able to change out my $ to get snacks i had to get it 1st (im being petty i guess) well other that than it was good.

The front deck lied about the baby crib claiming that it is not available at first. The bedding were not clean it had signs that it was the same that the previous guests used, bad smell and no room service available

Property was nice but booking through a third-party and not getting points. Hilton points is a bummer. He’s still spending money on their property at the lounge buying the breakfast.

We stayed here two nights and then moved to the Doubletree in Claremont which had an amazing breakfast buffet for $18. Bedding was also nicer at the Claremont location and they didn’t charge for water. I refuse to be nickel and dimed for water so we didn’t drink the $3 waters in our room at Whittier location but were charged for it anyway. They did reverse the charge when I called but I wonder if that’s standard practice. Overall a decent stay at decent price for the location.

The one negative is we had two other rooms with family for the funeral will be on family member. staying was in a wheel chair with his wife the care giver. It was safe to leave him alone. My husband had to help his Aunt get their stuff and him up to thier room after they waited till we flew in. We were away when they left and even after being ask for help they didn't prvide it. They comp to rooms. However my worry is for future quest booking you might want to clarify if handicap assistance is available. The fact housekeeping is only by request I can understand. I also need get with my other guest to question 2 room charges. I had to do a request for bed charge as the coffee cup in the room leaked from it's covered top all over me and the corner of the bed were I was seating. I didn't want it to stain.

We then ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately, all we could taste was the tequila—it was unbalanced. We also tried an Old Fashioned, which seemed to be missing simple syrup, making it quite harsh. As we were sitting and enjoying our time, a very large group arrived. Shortly after, the bartender brought us our bill without asking if we’d like another round—even though we were planning on ordering more. When we asked about continuing, we were told we would need to wait in line behind the large group. While we understand how busy things can get, this response felt abrupt, so we decided to leave. Fortunately, another staff member did step in to assist. Overall, the bartender appeared overwhelmed and may benefit from additional training on cocktail preparation and customer service during high-traffic periods. This could help ensure a more consistent and welcoming experience for all guests. We appreciate the overall hospitality and share this feedback in the spirit of helping improve future guest experiences.

The staff was very very kind, I was disappointed that there was not a microwave in the hotel room, we doordashed food and coffee and couldn’t even warm it up??? Had to go all the way to the main lobby and use a small microwave that didn’t even fit my Starbucks cup so we had to transfer it to another cup. Too much work when on vacation. That seems so minor but it was a big deal because convenience is so crucial when booking. Other than that, everything was amazing.

The room was dirty and dusty. The shower head and things inside the shower were older than god. . There was aluminum foil on a pipe. They only give two towels for two people for 2 days. The balcony had no light. They wanted $3 for a water in your room. Upgrades needed.

I've stayed here twice as I like Whittier being central in the greater LA area, and the DoubleTree treated me pretty well last time. I especially like Domingo in the bar area - He is very friendly and easy to talk to - Great service too. I was happy to see him still there since the last time I visited in 2023. Hotel was quiet, clean, everything worked great, and all staff I interacted with was very helpful and pleasant. The few 'nits' I have include $3 bottled water in the rooms. The water bottles were clearly marked as Kirkland brand, so the (2) bottles I used were $6... probably more than a CASE of 40 of these things. At least give me Aquafina or something Hilton, do better. Regardless, the convenience of it was nice as its typically a pet peeve as I travel around the country that hotels don't offer this in-room. I really do think these $.23 cent bottles of water would have a good return for you to offer free, as it really is the little things like this that keep business travelers coming BACK. Devil is in the details. Also, the mattress was VERY firm. I do understand it's difficult to please the masses and generally speaking; most people lean towards preferring firm... but man, this mattress was FIRM. By the 3rd morning, I could hardly walk. I might have to choose a different hotel next time if I am staying 3 or more nights. Lastly and in-room microwave would be a nice touch... but not the biggest deal. The refrigerator is a definite plus though.

The hotel looks nice from the outside. Once we had already checked in, we were greeted by a giant cockroach walking across our path to the elevator. Not even the reception gal wanted to deal with it. Once in our room, we noticed it was a bit out dated. Our bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way. We were only given two towels for the four people who were checked in. The beds were uncomfortable and hard. Disappointing honestly for being a Hilton chain hotel.
