They were very accommodating checking in then found out microwave wasn’t wrkn & was told they’d ck on it then found out maintenance guy was on vacay then ended up after sev days they actually went out & bought a sm temporary microwave for me to use bc he was on vacation for my entire 11 days. I greatly appreciated them going above & beyond! Kudos to the staff for taking care of an important issue! Would def recommend this place & it was very quiet for all the business they had.

Not much. The bed was comfortable enough. Smells very bad. The hallway carpet is filthy, the hallway smells like a mixture of stale cigarette smoke and pot. The bathroom smelled like urine. Couldn’t sit in the upholstered chair because it smelled like cigarette smoke. We opened the window to air out the sleeping area.

Roaches

There were cockroaches in the hotel room, drug deals going down, and I found a bag of illegal substances dropped in the hallway (that ruined someone's night). I wish I was joking but I have pictures. There were holes in both closet doors, the last guests left over food was still in the microwave and a partially smoked cigarette resting on a light fixture. If there weren't cockroaches or the fear of catching a stray bullet, it would have been a perfect weekend.

Every night cigarette smoke filled my bathroom I couldn't take bath the smell was so thick it made my clothes smell so disappointed had to attend naval graduation with smelly clothes

Our first impression was when we got out the car there was a strong marijuana smell, but at least it was in the parking lot. I entered the building and there was no one behind the desk. I stood there for 10 minutes and after loudly saying "is there anyone here?" a guest walked by and picked up a white telephone and told someone that I was there to check in. After finally checking we were walking toward our room we noticed the strong marijuana smell again. This is an extended stay hotel, and we noticed that in the room there was no coffeemaker and there were no chairs. If you're going to be there for an extended period, you'll be sitting on your bed. I told the young lady behind the desk that there wasn't a coffeemaker, and she said that they have coffee in the morning in the lobby. There were plenty of coffee pads but no maker. Also, there was a desk to work at, in the room, but no office chair. The next morning, we were hit with another blast of marijuana smell while in our room. Obviously, people staying there are smoking pot in the hotel. Also, the hallway walls looked dirty and the carpet needed vacuuming. The plusses were that the bathroom was very nice and clean and the price was right. We were there for two nights.

It was good

The smells in the hallways were my only issues mainly. There's a musty tangy smell walking pass the desk down the hallway. But I did see staff cleaning.

This is so much better than woodspings or extended stays.

This place is disgusting! The smell of cat urine, cigarettes and mold are in every inch of this place. It’s awful. Staff was nowhere to be found. There are stains everywhere! I would have rather stayed in my car!!

Matress broken, I tried to call using that phone on the table to report it, phone not working, I was on third floor, all third floor with strong smell to cannabis (and the hotel is smoke free)

Rude from begining

Location I've stayed here once a year for 5 years. Never again as it has gone downhill considerably. First, customer experience is nonexistent. My flight to the area was postponed due to massive snowstorms, but neither Choice nor the property would allow me to move my prepaid reservation out two days. I ended up paying for 5 nights instead of 3 for a subpar hotel. The entire hotel smells odd from the moment you enter the lobby. The room smelled of cigarette smoke even though I booked a non-smoking room. TV service was out. The front desk told me it was being fixed. Three days later, still no TV. There were stains on the room carpet, lampshades, and ceiling. The bathroom door had a big hole punched in it. Paint in the bathroom was peeling in multiple places, the showerhead pipe was loose, and the sink stopper unit wasn't connected. And then there was the cockroach that I had to kill the first morning after stepping out of the shower. See pics for proof.

Nothing The property was not well kept. The carpets throughout the entire place smelled like cat pee, The bedding had a stain on it, the shower wall had a hole in it and the iron was not working. I was told that we couldn’t get clean linen or clean towels unless it was Monday-Friday from 7am-3pm. And there were no other irons. We checked in late that night and checked out the next day we didn’t stay both nights.

Everything was perfect

Room was spotless and all was good in that regard. The worry I had was that there were three police cruisers when I checked in. And the hallway clearly smelled of weed.

Non smoking hotel and yet the smell hits you from halfway through to the room. Just didn’t want to deal with the cancellation hustle. One of the staff members was so wonderful. She switched my room to a different one. The cigarette smoke was better in that one but wasn’t gone. She was my hero of the stay there. Sending her a billion star’s rating.

The wifi wasn't fast enough and turned off alot making me reconnect alot. They should offer another wifi option that clients could pay more for and get better coverage.

When we tried to check out the hotel had some kinda of emergency and we weren’t able to get ahold of the front desk person as they were dealing with 4-5 cops

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Thenlocation was good as well. It smelled like pot and cigarette smoke all throughout the building. The first room had cockroaches and smelled like cigarette smoke, so bad we couldnt sleep. It also had lights not working in the bedroom and the kitchen faucet was extremely loose. We looked under the sink and there was a nut missing that was supposed to secure the faucet.The 2nd room after being moved, had cockroaches and could smell smoke coming through into the bathroom. The tub had signs of a backup when we arrived. The drain started out draining very slowly and by the last 2 nights had standing water of about 2 inches. We couldn't use the shower the last 2 days. The front desk did give us a key to an open room to use the shower the last night. The back door to the hotel didn't allow you to enter using your key, do everyone kept propping it open to go back and forth.

I would say this hotel is amazing from the front staff to the room. The room is super clean. I’m happy with it. Definitely would recommend staying here.

First, I hate that I even have to do this, but this was flipping ridiculous. This was by far one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve experienced. I traveled from Colorado to Illinois for work. I would leave early and come back after 6PM. First off upon arrival there were roaches in my room and hair in the tub. Not the tub drain but all over the tub, the room was not clean when I arrived and my entire 2 week stay my bedding was not changed out once, the room itself was only cleaned 2Xs but only after I asked multiple times. the front desk concierge was rude and unfriendly. She smoked pot at work. I could care less about that but there’s a time and a place and work is not it, you wouldn’t drink on the job. I had to constantly ask for towels and was told I could only request towels Mon-Fri, 7-3PM and I had to bring them down to the front desk myself and wait so they could wash them and return the same ones to me stating they didn’t have extra.

Okay for night

This is not a 2.5-star hotel. Please stay away! Unsafe with police on premises every day, arresting people who live there full-time. Very sketchy clientele, the receptionist is rude and rarely in the reception area. The hallways are stained and dirty, the place is run-down, and pieces of clothing were lying on the grass and bushes, holes in window screens, dust on door frames..... You name it. The room was so dirty, and the smell in the room was just horrible. It smelled like something died in there. The toilet kept clogging, and the receptionist gave us a broken plunger, told us to fix it since "we broke it". My argument that I'm a paying guest did not convince her. She told us they have no maintenance or cleaning staff. We booked this place for 6 nights, but left after 2, no refund. We tried to get a refund for 2 days, our booking agent called the manager multiple times, but she refused and said that we can come talk to her and she'll change our room. She never even knocked on our door to try to resolve this, and every time we looked for her, she was nowhere to be found. There is also no night manager. The receptionist spent her evenings in the parking lot, hanging out with friends. Stay away. Pay a bit more and stay in an actual hotel. After just 2 days in the room, we had to wash all our clothes twice, even though we kept them in a closed suitcase, and they still smelled. Expedia needs to do better in vetting places it advertises on its site. I hold them responsible.

There was no toilet seat on toilet.Both living room and bed room TV not working & the couch in the living room ripped and not comfortable.

This reservation was booked for my husband's business trip. The location was exceptional for his purposes. He said that everything was okay and met his needs for the night. While this is not necessarily the hotel's fault, my husband told me that the place reeked of weed. Someone was smoking nearby. He fared better than I would have.

Elevator has to work if you are giving rooms on 3rd floor

Non raccomando assolutamente a nessuno di pernottate in questa struttura. Io e mio marito ci siamo fermati per una notte prima di partire in trasferta, quando siamo arrivati, alla reception non c’era nessuno. Abbiamo provato a chiamare a voce qualcuno, senza successo. Abbiamo usato il telefono per chiamare e finalmente dopo 10 minuti e’ arrivata la signora addetta alla reception. Non ci ha salutati, non ci ha dato il benvenuto, nulla!!!!! Con la faccia stufata ci ha chiesto il documento d’identità e successivamente ci ha dato la chiave senza dire dove dobbiamo andare per trovare la nostra stanza. Siamo rimasti scioccati da questo comportamento, perche’ per 100$ sentirsi trattati come dell’immondizia non e’ proprio cio’ che volevamo. Se vi volete rovinare l’umore e’ il posto ideale. Oltre all’indifferenza alla reception, quando siamo entrati nella nostra stanza c’era una puzza incredibile di qualcosa di marcio, il frigorifero faceva un rumore che facevamo fatica dí addormentarsi, l’aria condizionata anche faceva rumore ed era impossibile trovare la temperatura ideale, perche’ o faceva troppo freddo, o troppo caldo. Inoltre, non e’ un posto sicuro o accogliente per le famiglie, oppure per le ragazze che viaggiano da sole.

Negative : Understaffed, elevator broken, dirty and stained hallway and stairwell carpeting, some lighting in rooms non-functional. Cracked mirror in closet ( possible injury hazard ) no breakfast offered Positive : Towels and bedding seemed very clean, bathroom / shower clean. This place needs some real help !!!

My 3 days of reservation was a complete waste. I had my son (5 years old) and my spouse travelling with me. I booked the hotel after checking on expedia website for late checkin. It clearly says checkin end time "Anytime" when i called the hotel around 7PM on my checkin date to inform about late checkin i was shocked to know that after 2AM my booking will be cancelled as "No Show" and the doors wont be open. Staff was very rude on the call.My flight to ORD was delay so i landed at 2:30AM. I had no other way. Expedia did not help me even after talking to them for almost an hour. I had to search for a day which was available far away. No refund was provided as well. Wrost experience - Never rely on expedia details and will never book mainstay anymore.

I did not like that i had heavy luggage and the elevator was out of service and the only way up was the stairs. Carpets where all dirty and with stains and bad smell. Room service only from 7am to 3pm if you need towels or bed sheets they wont give you clean one's. No breakfast included 😢.

My key card didn’t work twice and one time I went to get it fixed, no one was at the front desk b/c the only person working was cleaning a room. The toilet blocked the first time I used it. The kitchen sink water pressure was nonexistent and the shower water pressure was so low, I’m convinced I can piss harder.

Didnt know elevator wasnt working until I checked in.

Essentials were good including ; staff friendliness, spacious layout & cleanliness of room; good shower& clean , comfortable bed. Problem areas: no phone or hair blower in room; or by request; no night light in bathroom; elevator didn’t work. Couldn’t reach hotel desk except during day time business hours.

Had the other hotels in the area not been sold out due to the National Card Show, we would have gone elsewhere. We will never stay here again.

Comfortable clean room

Place had a smell to it like a stench a lot of cigarette smoke. Very dirty carpets. Toilet did not work at all so I had to use the bathroom elsewhere

Pet friendly. Carpet in hallways severely stained with accompanying odors. Odd noises in the night. ( Banging, shouting, etc)

They have people with apps that can steal funds. They would not allow the theft. The people needing to theft were stolen from by someone else.

It fairly inexpensive but it’s dirty, the staff is absolutely no help, the maids don’t know how to clean, can not get towels only between certain hours and of course I’m working those hours. I would not recommend.

Strong foul odor in hallway and room. Bought Lysol to reduce smell Furniture is gross, stained, sticky, stinks. AC looks as mold is growing inside. Dirty walls Microwave filter was so greased over it couldn't be removed to rinse. Water pressure on shower was low and the first two nights didn't get hot. People living at hotel were sketchy.

The property was well maintained, the room was nice. The only drawback was the receptionist. She was busy talking on her earbuds. Didn’t even greet me and didn’t talk to me. Didn’t tell me where the elevator was or if there were any carts to carry our baggage.

This was a last-minute booking for a work trip and never again will I stay here. It is extremely dirty and the though the staff was nice, me and other guests had to wait around for 10 minutes before they let us check in with arms full of luggage. The breakfast that was out in the morning was just coffee, a complete false advertisement. All the carpet was extremely dirty and warm. Random stains on the ceiling, floor, and even the chair in the room had very suspicious stains on it (see picture). I was so disgusted I almost didn’t stay the full night.

As I returned at the hotel, the same staff was just hanging out with her friends in the lobby. I said hello and she just ignored me and continue laughing loudly with her friends.

the manager Lake she is not nice, rooms are clean, fire alarm was all day without notice and needed to leave the room for 8 hours had to leave 2 days earlier but the manager was nowhere to be found to get my refund even thru it was during weekdays .

the hotel is clean for the price paid but the staff are not nice at all. During our stay of 2 weeks you are allowed to request toilet paper only from front desk between 7am and 3 pm…any minutes after you will not get…also we left 2 days earlier and the manager Lake was nowhere to be found to talk with her about refund during week days…

Ok for a night but there were several issues

This place smelled horrible. The receptionist took a very long servicing me. There was big German Shepard in there, screaming children, the first floor was filthy and very unkempt. I never even went to the room, I immediately asked for a refund

For the area that it was in, I expected the hotel to be more updated. I also expected cooking utensils in my room. The carpet needed to be updated.

Second room the shower wouldn’t drain. Third room Smelled awful from the previous guests cooking. Entire hotel smelled. They put out coffee in the morning but no creamer!

There was a lot of hair in the bathtub, sheets smelled like cigarette smoke, and the hallway smelled like a dog's poop wasn’t cleaned for days. Otherwise, the area was quiet and seemed safe!

The bed sheets had not been changed and there was quite a bit of hair on the bathroom floor. Other than that, it was great!

The staff was the best part of this hotel. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The couches and chairs were all stained and the back/side door was propped open at night. The staff was usually there at the door so it was monitored

Although the area where the hotel is located was great my experience wasn’t. The room smelled like wet dog, there was a bunch of cockroaches, and we only had sheets to cover ourselves with there was no blanket and one of the three front desk agents that assisted me was very rude and not friendly.

Poor customer service

Place was nasty! Looked like a haunted hotel. Bed was stained and just nasty looking. Never will I stay here again or recommend for other guest.

This is by far the worse place I've ever stayed in. This is a place where people live permanently not a real hotel. At 330a.m. we had someone trying to get into our room because the staff tried to put some other family in the same room. This encounter was absolutely terrifying. After all of this i call the front desk and that's what they explained and just said oops our bad. Then at 930a.m. when i got out of the shower the cleaning lady didn't knock or anything and just walked into the room while i had nothing more than my boxers on. What ever you do, do NOT stay here.

The hallways are filthy. My room was not cleaned when I checked in. There was still someone else's trash in the bin, a used cup was in the sink, the previous occupant smeared lipstick on the sinks, a lamp, some of the sheets, etc. As far as I could tell, I only saw one housekeeper who has no chance to clean a property this size. I know she never made it to my room. There was a chair in the room that was scratched up and in bad shape, which the solution was to throw a cover over it. The only positives were that the fridge, microwave, and TV worked. Also, I found the staff to be nice. The issues here run so deep that I don't think there's anything they can do. Overall, just absolutely horrible. It's sad because you can tell that this once was a nice property, but that's long gone. Please, don't even think of staying here

Huge room. Full size fridge, cooktop, dishwasher...all the comforts of home. Super clean. Very friendly staff.

The garbage can was overflowing on all 6 times we entered and exited. There is significant carpet damage on the way to the elevator. The room was fine and quiet.

The kitchen in my room worked good and everything was included. Everything was clean in the room and in my bathroom. The area is quiet and I never felt unsafe

The beds were so incredibly hard, I could hardly sleep either night. The individual rooms were spacious and clean but common areas were worn, dirty and smelled like marijuana.

I had to call customer service about this hotel. The issues I encountered are too massive to put into words. If you check the phone call I had with customer service you'll see why.

Professional staff

The carpet is filthy, the room has a hideous smell and there is mold all over the room, near the vent. I could not stay there. I had to leave after 10 minutes.

Would not recommend

Flying in late from KC it was great to relax in a quiet, spacious, clean, and comfortable suite. The staff was nice and helpful. Ideal and close to the Old Orchard Country Club where we had our 50th High School Reunion. Very nice. Thanks for the wonderful room and two comfortable nights.

Short on house keeping

This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. There was trash all over the sidewalk right in front of the door. There was trash overflowed with food, not even in bags, all over the floor and on top of the trash right in front of our room. This hotel is supposed to allow dogs as well, which they make you pay a 50$ deposit and 10$ fee per day, so it was a concern that the food and trash were so easily accessible for the dogs to possibly get sick from eating. Our room was FILTHY to the point my dog was scared to leave her kennel. The smell was overwhelmingly disgusting and unidentifiable . There were old cans of alcohol squished in the side and back of the fridge on top of whatever was not swept or mopped at all. Inside of the drawers were stained and had old food and dirty napkins in it. On top of the filth, there is a FLASHING smoke detector right above the bed that flashes so brightly it woke me up multiple times. Do not stay here. Save yourself the hassle and just pay more per night to actually have a comfortable place to sleep. The best part of this place was the fact that the staff knew how disgusting it was and were more than willing to refund us for the deposit and the 3 nights we were supposed to stay there for, on top of the one we had to stay there for, after driving from Colorado to Illinois.

Room had a cooktop, full sized refrigerator, garbage disposal, and a dishwasher. Unfortunately only 1 small saucepan to cook with and nothing to use to hand wash anything. Since there are only a couple plates and glasses, seems crazy to run the full sized dishwasher for that. Room was very clean with a soft chair, table and desk chair. NIce peaceful neighborhood. I stayed only one night but they have weekly and monthly rentals. Housekeeping was aggressive, knocking twice before checkout time to determine if I was gone or not, which disturbs the peace. Coffee in the morning was decent and appreciated. Coffee in the room marginal. No breakfast. Overall quite nice.

The bathroom ceiling where moldy, the front desk took an hour to check us in because there was no one at the desk and at night they gave our room to someone else allowing that peraon to open our door thankful for the locks on the door. After all this we left in the middle of the night to stay somewhere else.

I actually loved this! I looked at the reviews before booking but honestly not bad! I feel like this was such a good hotel that I will be coming back here when I visit again!

Tactics to threaten and harass that have been used in hotel to instill fear and prevent from speaking the truth or being witness against their crimes, and to stop from moving forward: constant slamming doors; loud hammering banging stomping sounds from walls and ceilings; these criminal fake guests, hotel manager, housekeeping, & staff spy through hidden cameras in hotel rooms & smoke detectors, bathroom, and hack into computer/phone screen. Hotel room phone lines cut off, mold in bathroom, sink plumbing leakage, suffocating smoke through bathroom drain in non-smoking rooms, consistent threatening intimidating bomb blast & drilling noise from ceiling & hallway in noise-free rooms, hotel housekeeping break into rooms without notice. Hotel disconnected hotel wifi when I was filing a report, slowed down computer, & blocked bathroom sink drain.

One of the worst hotel stays ever. The corridors and rooms smelled really bad, the floors were sticky, the bed linen and pillows were terrible. The staff was great, but unfortunately that did not make up for the terrible rooms. Will never stay at a Main Suites again.

Excellent management

I’d never stay here again, the condition of this place wasn’t good. Not clean at all, the comfort was terrible, it’s not being well maintained. Awful stay!!!

The staff are friendly, but the property appears somewhat run down. I suppose this type of hotel does not have a real concierge.
