    We had a great stay at the hotel next door. The woman at check in made a comment about "those people not having etiquette where they're from or something" in regard to an Indian coworker asking her a question while she was checking me in. She then offered me a choice of floors for our room. I chose a ground level room and was told that those rooms were in a building with dogs- not an issue. The entire wing of the hotel containing our room was obviously under construction- there was a spare door sitting in the hallway in front of our room and partially demolished rooms in the same hall. This was not mentioned when I chose our room. Our room's walls were visibly in need of repair, and the appliances were clearly old and not well-cleaned. The floor was wet, the lighting was reminiscent of a horror movie, and we saw a cockroach within 5 minutes of entering the room. We are in the process of trying to get a refund.

    The only thing that I liked was the location. The property needs new operation management. For an extended stay property it is bad due to the fact that the appliances like refrigerator and stove does not work which caused spoiled food. When issues arise the service desk person always says" I'm sorry, I keep telling management that we need appliances that works. We always have complaints. " I had booked 2 rooms and had not had clean towels and beddings available when requested. I had been waiting for the front office to have clean towels for 2 days now". The only reason why my family is here is due to a home renovation that I have to accomplish for health reasons. This place is close to my home and at least we have beds to sleep on. Only stay here if you are in life or death situation and have nowhere else to go that you can afford. Poor property management. Appliances like refrigerators and stoves are old and broken. Does not provide clean linens and towels due to shortages of supplies.

    Close to where I wanted to be. The appliances, were broken . Having a 2 year old in the suite, and the oven door was hanging open by a tread, makes very dangerous. It took 2 days to have it fixed. The refrigerator stop cooling, so the had to replace it, that was done a lot faster. They charge twice for my son’s room, but that was taken care within two weeks, so that was a plus’s!

    No good breakfast just chewy granola bars and muffins with bad coffee no pool. Building and rooms are dated. Homeless and drug addicts laying on the pavement sleeping and drinking and smoking around the property. I will never ever stay again for any reason

    This property is very dated and rundown, there were two rooms at the end of the hallway that were w/o a door and under construction, the entryway was very rundown and dirty. The building was dilapidated. We didn’t even sleep under the bed covers and items inside the room were very old dirty. There was no linen on the pullout bed with no extra linen/ pillows in the room to utilize, there was no garbage can in the bathroom. There wasn’t hot water in the shower. I’d never stay here again & do NOT recommend it.

Rarely have I stayed somewhere where a room has been smoked in. It wasn’t a strong smell, but it was detectable enough to make me a bit turned off - but not offensive enough for me to request a different room. I totally understand that certain things are out if the management’s complete control - so I can extend some grace.

    Bugs. I know it has to be hard to keep up with the bugs, but there were cockroaches in one of the buildings. I did call and ask to be refunded but I ended up moving to a different building and had a better experience. Overall I did not feel safe or clean staying in this hotel.

    The staff were nice. I had an overall good experience, the only thing is that they just give you sheets and not actual blankets or duvets so i advise you bring your own blankets if you do book here. It's really not bad for a quick stay though.

    I have to say that it was a very decent place. My only beef was the ice machine didn't work. Yes, you have ice trays in your, room in the fridge. But when you need some immediate ice...when you first get there, you're out of luck. Had a little continental breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. The laundry room was decent as well.

    Additionally, there appeared to have been a recent fire. Several rooms were under construction and only blocked off with tape, which did not feel safe or professionally managed. Another ongoing issue was with the room keys. They repeatedly stopped working, especially after coming into contact with a phone or key fob, forcing multiple trips to the front desk just to regain access. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations in terms of cleanliness, safety, and basic functionality. I would not recommend this property until significant improvements are made.

    - One of the towels in the bathroom that were supposed to be clean, kind of looked like a dead spider or 2 was on it when I unfolded it. Maybe a couple of little baby spider eggs too. The manager thought it was spiders. - TV was blinking on most channels. Maintenance fixed it. - Had to ask them to tighten the shower curtain rod. They fixed that. - Toilet seat was loose and my boyfriend tightened the little screws behind it. Toilet paper roll holder fell off on the left side, but my boyfriend fixed that too. Besides all that, everything else was fine.

    I have stayed at this property twice. It's very nice to be able to book a suite as opposed to a double room. They have coffee in the lobby in the morning, but I wish they had a coffee maker in the room. Otherwise, on both occasions the stay has been fine.

    The staff were all pleasant to deal with. The cleanliness of the room was horrible. Oven door was broken hair in the kitchen drawers. The kitchen floor was dirty and food was on walls that could of been wiped clean.The bathroom looked like it was given a quick wipe. Long black hair was on bathroom floor like the floor wasn't even mopped. I don't feel the need to go on if everything wasn't booked around us and it would of been affordable we would of left. Would not recommend.

    When I returned to retire for the evening, I set my bag down to turn on a light. When the light went on there were multiple bugs that I have never seen before (couldn't identify what they were). At this time, I turned off the light, left the room, got in my car and drove home at 4:30 in the morning without even touching the bed. I did not want to even think about what was under the covers. One of the (if not worst) hotel experiences ever. Shame on you Extended Stay America Suites Chicago Elgin West Dundee West Dundee, Illinois!!! Take some pride in your business!!!

    Never again!! Had to kill a couple cockroaches and beetles. Toilet would randomly run then overflowed twice. Maintenance was unavailable so i had to shut water off and clean up with extra towels. Also had to leave groceries behind i had bought to cook, because oven never heated up and i could not take the food with me.

    ESA is a good price, but there always seems to be some catches. In thus case I was on the 3rd floor with a broken elevator. In the room I could get the AC thermostat to work and the front desk couldn't tell me, and there would be no one who could help until 9 o'clock the next morning. After 15 minutes or so I figured it out. But if just need a decent bed and a shower, the price is good.

    This property smelled of substances I could not identify. Room B-224 was the first room we were assigned. The heat did not work. We were told by the front desk to just flip a switch on the side. But there was no switch, only buttons on a heavy electrical cord. She switched us to room B-228 and we experienced the same problem with no heat and no help from maintenance or the front desk. I cancelled my reservation, demanded the immediate release of all held funds, and went to a different hotel chain all together. This is the last time I ever attempt a Hilton stay. The Extended Stay was more like a party zone for druggies and hookers. Not recommended for families at all.

    Dirty room, found multiple bugs in the bathroom and in the rooms on the bed. Broken baseboards, head boards and night stands. Theres no tv in one of the bedrooms and have to move the livngroom tv and rewire it if you want a tv, the curtains had holes and stains and there was people hanging out in the stairways smoking as well as random people wandering thru the parking lot.     Expedia stated all fees were included but there was a security deposit for my service animal. That’s not on the hotel though. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating as soon as I walked up to the desk. Very friendly encounter. The security deposit was worked out were I could put my belongings into the room and go to the atm and bring the deposit back per manager approval. The property is updated and looks to be in excellent condition. Newer siding, windows, doors etc. The parking lot is well lit and has ample amount of parking space. Very quiet and peaceful at nighttime which makes for a great nights rest. Kitchen has updated appliances at to my surprise they offer complimentary utensils, dinnerware and cookware. Overall a great stay and I highly recommend!

    I stayed the weekend after visiting the nearby amusement park with my husband and children who are all 4 years of age and under. We booked the double queen bed suite and out of 3 televisions, only one worked! With 3 toddlers it wasn’t a good night. Called the front desk and rude gentle suggested that we only use the one that was working. When I called back to tell him the only tv that was working volume button wouldn’t turn the tv down, no one picked up the phone . I constantly called and never got an answer. I was very displeased and should’ve stayed at hotel across the way.

    You get what you pay for, I guess. Not a good experience at all with this Extended Stay. Dirty and dingy hallways. Old room with peeling paint. Stained floors. Non-working TV remote (although I arrived late so didn't have a ton of time to watch much - or the desire to complain about it). No garbage cans at all - main area, kitchen or bathroom. Shower didn't drain properly. Front desk person WAS apologetic and said she'd pass along the info to her boss. Not much else to say here.

    I've stayed at other branches of Extended Stay America, but this location is very poorly managed. The unit I stayed in way filthy and infested with roaches. None of the bedroom doors would close due to severe damage. All cabinets and shelves were heavy worn and needed replacement. A security alarm went off by a side entry constantly and was very disruptive. The front desk attendet was overwhelmed due to having to many tasks to keep up with, but worked extremely hard to try and keep up. This resulted in long wait times for any services needed. The staff was friendly and polite, however. I will not be returning to this location.

    Front desk person Gustavo is extremely arrogant. Rooms don't have blanket and he is straight face saying they are out of blankets. This is not acceptable. They are not charging us less for this right? amount we paid is not less amount we paid for this hotel in Chicago Suburb. They mentioned that they will deliver the utensils in the room but Gustavo again said no. Owner should take an account that whatever they committed to, employees are not trained to follow that. They way Gustavo is behaving, it shows if we post this review there will be non co-operation and retaliation. We drove all the way from North Carolina and and spending sleepless nights with kids (7 years) and elderly people (80 and 72 years) travelled with us. After Repeated follow up, They did not even provide us extra sheets. to get sheets we need to return dirty sheets first. a total untrust is there. If we need to return dirty sheets, what will we use in leu of Blankets which they said before? 2 sleepless nights. it was a nightmare.

    We requested new towels, but they informed me that they didn’t have any and that housekeeping had them all. We were left waiting for them, but no one came throughout the entire stay. We also asked to use bowls, but they informed me that they didn’t have any and gave me a pot to cook instead. To make matters worse, there were stains on the mattress. The cold water supply was also inadequate, and the breakfast consisted of just muffins and some to-go oatmeal. The appliances were also in poor condition and dirty. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that we even ended up leaving earlier.

    I went to the front desk to talk to someone about the condition and there was a sign at the desk that said “be back soon” with a line of 3 other people. I waited for 5 minutes but could not wait longer. To end the bad stay we were awoken at 8am on. Sunday morning by a lawn mower and leaf blower being used right outside our room.     Rented two suites, each having two bedrooms, a living room and kitchen for two nights. I attempted to write an overview of our experience at the Extended Stay, but ran out of characters in this review box. Nonetheless, I will highlite my concerns. 1. Both desk clerks we interacted with never fully listened to our questions or comments. They would cut us mid sentence and make statements unrelated to the issue in question. It to 45 minutes to register, even with reservations. 2. Three times dealing with the clerk we were interrupted by a call from his girlfriend. Each time he walked off and left me. 3. I rented two premium suites. Housekeeping was still prepping the rooms at 3:10. All of the suites floors were wet with soppy water. We left to give housekeeping time to finish the rooms. Upon returning 1-1/2 hours later, we had to hold onto furniture to keep from slipping and falling. We called for housekeeping to come and do something but were told they were gone for the day. We had to get towels and dry all the floors ourselves. 4. Out of six TVs in the suites, not one worked. The thermostats in both suites did not respond. Maintenance was able to get the ac to work, but there was no TV for the kids. 5. I wish there were more spaces to write here because these problems were before 10 pm on day one. Day 2 was far worse - so bad our daughter's family left. Horrible!!

    I get that it is a cheap place, but this place is bad. I waited for 5 minutes to check in before walking around the entire main floor to find someone. The room smelled bad, there were stains on the walls and bedding, carpet was missing in several places, clumps of hair in the shower, and the place was barely holding itself together (see door pic). The room door wouldnt stay shut on its own. Food was left in the fridge I called for extra linen and waited at the desk for several minutes. Breakfast was literally either prepackaged muffins or a granola bar. When I went to check out no one was at the desk again. after waiting for several minutes I had to call the hotel to get anyone to come up to the front desk. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

    The room had many issues, the ceiling vent was coming off. Additionally the iron sparked, when I attempted to plug in. Which in turn cause all the outlets to short out. When in told the staff, they said they would give me a different room, however later they told me they couldn’t honor.

    This place was AWFUL! The first 3 nights I was there the entire parking lot was FILLED with police etc and each night numerous people being arrested. The key cards wouldn't open the outside doors to get in, I had to swipe for at least 3 minutes to get my door to unlock. My toilet leaked under the laminate flooring in the bathroom and when you walked in it would bubble this gross fluid from between the strips of flooring. It stunk like frost food and weed so bad it was nauseating. The from desk staff were rude and absolutely useless for anything. I literally just ended up leaving and going to the Best Western, that is Brand New, for an extra $20/night and just letting this dump keep my money. There are no plates, cups, silverware etc. You have to pay to rent them from the terrible front desk staff. You have to pay for their slow wifi. And the Breakfast! Just nasty old coffee. I don't see how this place is allowed to operate. Hell, there are even cockroaches in this place. The beds must be 20 years old with basically 2 sheets on them providing ZERO warmth. Truly worse than any hotel I have ever stayed at. I should've filmed the place, it would've been historical.

    The stay was awful! First night we quickly learned our toilet didn’t work properly and the piece inside the tank had to be shook to get the water to refill. Also found wet spots on the counter, but didn’t realize the water was from a leak in the sink until day 3. On day 2 we had to deal with a party of about 15 people that were loud and obnoxious. People were smoking weed and playing extremely loud music. Eventually police were called and the unregistered guests were asked to leave. Day 3 at night, I found an unknown bug crawling in the drapes. Room was filthy and most staff were not very friendly.

    First, they couldn't find my reservation and I had to pay more for the room than what I booked on Hotels.com. The service was horrible and we had to visit the front desk several times for new keys, towels, bedding for the pull out couch (which we only got a bottom sheet) and couldn't get a complete set of dishes. Only two chairs for the table with 4 of us staying in a two bedroom suite. The room smelled and the beds were so uncomfortable we left a day early. Because we didn't leave until 1 pm, we still had to pay for the night but we could not stay. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the last several years and it gets worst every time. We will not be going back!!!

    The air didn’t work so I tried to open the window which was almost impossible and it almost fell off and wouldn’t stay. There was no air flow so I figured I’d turn on the oven fan for some movement and that didn’t work either. The breakfast had 3 options granola bar, oatmeal or muffins and the muffins were gross.

    I wouldn't suggest booking here. Our office booked a room for a guest and her son, coming into town for an acting gig. They were supposed to stay the week, but they were evacuated from their room without explanation after the first night. The hotel didn't have another room to offer them so we were promised a refund on two separate occasion. We never got it. Filed a claim with our protected stay insurance and was denied because evacuation by the hotel isn't covered. Needless to say, not on the up and up.

    The policies here are insane. As i take care of the travel arrangements, my partner doesn't usually need their License with them unless we are getting drinks somewhere.     I was unpleased because I had to move three times from rooms. The first room had no toilet seat, the second room had no hot water and the final room was filled with fleas. My daughter has bite marks on her body from the fleas. I sent my daughter to the front desk and ask to give access to the outside door because we got licked out as we were leaving. The manager had the audacity to tell my daughter if we didnt leave by 11am, our deposit would be taken! Wow! I was in shock after all we went thru and she tells that to my daughter?? Unacceptable it was not even 11? I go in and ask to speak to the manager and she doesn't come out until I speak about my unpleasant experience and that they tell me my deposit will be taken? The guy was very respectful and apologized but the manager is horrible and bad customer service. I was told its new management! Well clearly their final inspection of the rooms is a lie! Otherwise I wouldnt had to move three times!

    Overall the room was just dirty. The floors were super dirty. The walls & doors were scuffed; one of the door had a huge hole/crack on it that made it unstable to swing. The oven had buttons that were burned or scratched off and were inoperable. Living room lamps were inoperable because the cords were cheeed or cut off. The room smelled like smoke and the bathroom had mold on the ceilings. We had a constant issue with flies in the room. The staff tried to make things better by moving us into a new room when I took photos of our room so that I wouldn’t be charged my deposit thinking we did the damages. The second room was almost as bad as the first. I think the entire property needs an update overall. Didn’t care that breakfast was as other have mentioned already just granola, muffins and coffee. Disappointed there was no where to fill a water bottle. We won’t be using ESA for futures stays.

    Staff was amazing but the condition of the room itself was subpar. The room was missing doors for the bedroom and bathroom which means no privacy. The oven was missing the knobs, the fridge was dented everywhere, there was no extra linens or pillows even though this is a multi family room. Complementary “breakfast” included granola bars, muffins and oatmeal. As a family this was one of the features as to why we chose this hotel but unfortunately were let down.

    I've stayed at multiple Extended Stays for the convenience and price. However, this one seemed more like an apartment complex with random people loitering around the grounds between 11pm - 3am. The parking lot was completely full each night. The 2 bedroom I rented had mildew on the window seals and broken window blinds. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but you can clearly smell the smoke. Apparently, someone had a pet in the unit prior due to the pet signage indicated "pet inside". (I am sensitive to pet dander and couldn't get another room.) I also woke up with 3 red bug bites on the left side of my face and 3 red bug bites on my upper left arm. If a roadside motel is a 1*, then I guess this hotel is a 2*. This was most likely my worst hotel experience in my 20 years of traveling for business.

    Poor to go breakfast Room had many issues from floor, bath countertop new but cabinet super bad. Used soap still on top of my bathtub. Lights didn’t work. I complained about changing room and costumer service agreed to call after 12pm yet no one call or make any notes in regard. So I had to explain the problem to the next costumer service representative in order to have another room again.
