Five Star Inn West Covina

Upon arrival notice bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. There was dried urine drops spills over toilet, dirty showers with hairs on all walls, floors not vacuumed or mop. Requested room service for cleaning and they never came to clean. Will never recommend for this hotel. I call hotels.com customer service got no help from them either. Because I was recording when I went to the office to request service.

Rude staff only thing new about the rooms is the tv and you can’t watch anything they don’t even have basic cable and their prices are outrageous. The new remodeled rooms are not available for anyone who shows up to the property. They’re all for online reservations only.

First off had to have 100$ cash deposit which is not mentioned on the sight and I don’t carry cash so had to use their atm that charged 5$. Then got in the room it stunk like cigarettes in a non smoking room the ac worked but was literally falling apart the tv did not work and the shower/bath faucet leaked so I listened to that all night. Door wouldn’t shut all the way so light and noise came through. I would not have stayed there if it wasn’t late and was tired and didn’t want to look for another place to stay. Will not recommend this place to anyone not even a homeless person it was horrible

Nothing worked. TV did not work nor did the air conditioning. The room smelled, not sure if due to improper ventilation. The elevator was filthy. Front desk seemed reasonable but she did not do as she stated; no direct contact made from them to Booking.com

Location First , you have to have cash for the deposit and on the web doesn’t tell you . So that’s a little inconvenient. Secondly, the room was dirty . And they had people living on some of the rooms and the people were loud . Also they turned off the a/c at night time the first night and it was hot . The outside was dirty too and there was people working on their car at the parking lot .

Unfortunately our sink wasn't really working it was super low pressure we used the bathtub to brush out teeth. I think the rusting on the door made it look like there were blood marks. The are a bunch of scratches.

The property is nice on the outside Ive been to many hotels and this hotel was the dirtiest Me and my toddler couldn’t sleep the people next door were loud the entire night, i called the front desk many times and they never answered to the point i had to call the police because the guys next door where abusing 2 females and the front desk never answered the beds where placed on the side where other people place there heads to so they kept banging my toddler was afraid I thought hotels had policies the people in front desk do not care about the safety of the hotel this is the last time i stay at five star inn would not recommend it Id like to feel safe when im traveling but this was not the case!!!!

Properties like this don’t update their amenities! They have a spa but it does not work! So it’s just to get you there! Solid have been refunded my money! Property does not look at good as pictures.

People minded their own business and were respectful of others staying there. Very nice quiet little hidden gem in a hole in the wall location you wouldn't expect to be so exceptionally pleasant of a stay. Very clean too. Friendly staff, plus they welcomed my pit bull puppy without hesitation! BIG plus, definitely would recommend to friends and would stay here again. More shaded parking spaces would be nice.

I did see a small cockroach in my room the morning of my check out, on 04/26/26, I killed it and disposed of it I was in room 205

Property was dangerous, criminal activity in the parking lot, felt unsafe. Was refused access to my room, unless cash deposit but I felt unsafe carrying money. No refund given. Even though I canceled. Unsafe, bad, filthy, scam hotel. Dangerous people, require that you carry cash among criminals, what do they expect to happen?! I asked how to get a refund, I took those steps, NO REFUND GIVEN.

The room had dead roaches in the fridge. There was hair in the tub and a hole in the ceiling leaking water into our room. They moved us to a different room. There was bullet holes in the window still had live roaches and no hot water.

it wasn’t very clean or easily accessible so i didn’t like much about the property it was dirty, some things were falling apart, the room wasn’t updated, had damages on the ceiling, the lobby was under construction, the parking lot was dirty and hard to maneuver in, the manager was rarely available, and saying he was going to do things but never followed thru, people were unable call or email during the day, and the bed started falling into itself.

Room was dirty. As soon as I turned the light on roaches were scattering around the floor. You can tell they don’t mop the floors or wipe down the counters. To top it off the tv didn’t work so I had a dirty room and no tv.

There's drug activity and prostitutes here on a daily basis. This place in not kid friendly or suitable for families with children. On my last day packing up a syringe fell down from under the sink counter. I tried to tell them and they were not believing me when I said I found it. They wanted me to give it to them without any paper work or cops involved and they never returned my $100 deposit. Do not go here with children. It's not a safe place. I also almost got robbed with the stuff in my car when going back and forth to put my things inside the room.

Filthy conditions. Found hair in the shower, sink, and intertwined in the towels. Bottom of the bathroom door looked chewed up. Dirty floors. Shower curtain looked like there was blood on it. We reserved two rooms for two nights did not stay the second day. Decided we would rather drive all the way back to our home state after my daughter's wedding then have to stay another night. So dirty. The floors, the walls, the bedding was probably not washed, cigarette burns in the bedding and the pillow cushions had yellow stains on them. Even the towels looked dirty, I didn’t feel comfortable sitting anywhere. I stayed a few hours and left and immediately took a shower. Will never return, would never recommend.

I called before I came and asked for a When I entered the room it looks really good. It was large room. I had called early that day to say that I needed a downstairs room. I'm disabled but I don't like going to the disabled room because it's made for someone in a wheelchair. I have trouble walking and standing. I need a lot of counter space. The only room left available was the spa room. He said I could pay $20 more for the one night and then the second night he would comp. I thought that was fair so I was like okay. Upon closer inspection I could see that there was a burn hole in the comforter and the room smelled like smoke. Also it the doors and light switches were filthy! The spa tub was a jetted tub and around the Jets there was like some kind of spackle. When I went to hang my towel up the towel rack came out of the wall. I wasn't hanging on it or putting any pressure on it. I just went to hang my towel up. The people who work there could have cared less. They did nothing to help me and they were rude. There was only one light switch in the room by the door. There were no bedside lamps. There was no blow dryer even though it claimed to have one when I was reading about their amenities. nothing like the photos!! we were evacuated for the fires so we needed a place to stay and it is the only reason we stayed. it smelled bad, room was not nice, the worst quality for towels and sheets. REALLY DIRTY PLACE

OVERALL PRETTY REASONABLE DURING THE WEEK, BUT DOES GET PRICEY come Thursday-Satuday, I would suggest to book on a Sunday -Thursday if you are going to plan to stay for more than one night. No ice machine.Does have vending machines and wzzher and dryer both under $3.00 per machine , has a pool & jacuzzi. Office a little rough during the day, at night a bit more friendly. Also consider staying on the 2 or 3rd as for the first floor has a lot of regulars.

I we had to use the sketchy atm on the property to get cash for our deposit cause usually it’s card deposit.

Check in bad service rude, charged extra. In view of court yard there was burnt mattresses outside. looked unsafe and hazardous had non-smoking, but room had horrible dirty comforter stained, and huge burnt marks. the pillows were stained the wall and ceiling as well there where cockroaches in the bathrooms. there was porn on the tv and no parent controls set up. Lots if comotion throughout the day. check in specified like 3 different times no refunds and that they where not responsible for thefts or break ins stay at your own risk. please, do not recommend, we would of just left but i was with family late out somewhere i didnt know.

In view of court yard there was burnt mattresses outside. looked unsafe and hazardous had non-smoking, but room had horrible dirty comforter stained, and huge burnt marks. the pillows were stained the wall and ceiling as well there where cockroaches in the bathrooms. there was porn on the tv and no parent controls set up. Lots if comotion throughout the day. check in specified like 3 different times no refunds and that they where not responsible for thefts or break ins stay at your own risk. please, do not recommend, we would of just left but i was with family late out somewhere i didnt know.

All the equipment worked and the staff was pleasant to deal with. Yes it’s an old run down hotel, but renovations are clearly being made and it’s in a very safe area. Not the best, but if you’re passing through the area and must lay your head for a night or two, it’ll do.

Dry poop and blood on walls. Graffiti in bathroom and on portraits. Drawers were extremely dirty, stained and had weird paint running down it. Left after 2 hours of trying to get hotel and Expedia to refund me. Expedia is the worst for allowing hotels to bait and switch customers.

Room is not up to date there are two sides if they don't like how you look they put you on the side with graffiti and roaches. No working shower just a bobbypin where the handle should be. No remote to the TV. Door barely felt closed had to put the chair there all night to feel remotely safe. Graffiti everywhere on the walls elevator furniture. Staff is also not nice, they don't have phones in the room so they don't want you to bother them. You can't request for anything past 5pm no staff available. Ice machine doesn't work , vending machine doesn't work and the soap is cheap.

Ac didn't work tv remote control didn't work and there is graffiti everywhere strange people hanging out around the place should be $50 at most. Curtains and linens are outdated with stains and duct tape holding them together. Staff and front desk not available after 6pm no phone in the room. Only one working light fixture no light bulbs in the fixtures next to the bed. Huge bug problem roaches and ants everywhere. They are under construction hopefully it will improve.

We booked for non smoking, but gave us smoking. The young guy said that they don’t have non smoking. He then changed his statement after telling him that I booked online for non-smoking and he said that I chose the wrong room. I told him I had asthma but he didn’t care. Even though I have Asthma, we just took the room since it’s Friday and most hotels are booked. When we got to the room, it was terrible. Only 1 light was working and the bathroom light. Graffiti all over the room. Hole and stains on wall and headboard. AC was filthy with no cover. Roaches coming from uncovered AC unit. Broken sockets, no smoke detectors, being that it’s marketed as ‘smoking’ Loud noise of hammering at 7am. See photos of this terrible room.

I booked a room with jetted tub, after arrival they dint give me the jetted room as mention in my booking description instead asked for extra.

The people in the office isn’t agradable

I was amazed how nice the room was. The room was better then what the pictures showed. Completely remodeled room. Everything was new and clean. Bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size I gotta say I was impressed. Idk if all the room are like that but I paid around $115 which was a little more then what I'd hoped for but I don't regret it at least. This place was a good example for "Don't judge a book by it's cover."

I ended up walking right out when I seen the room. Shady characters in the parking lot. The too. Was aweful, dirty, not clean, and there was tape off the fire sprinkler. I told the lady at the front desk, but she said because I walked I. The room I could not get a refund. I just turned the key in and left. This is not good for expedia.

I reserved a NON smoking room. When I checked in they said I had to pay an extra $30 because that option was not included automatically even if it said that. If I didn’t pay then id be in a smoking room for the night. I paid, went to my room. The sheets had various stains including blood. I went back to the front desk. Demanded a refund for the “non smoking” room, my deposit and left. I called it a loss. Never again

It is falling apart, holes every where, drawers broken, graffiti on the walls, foul smelling. Staff likes to pretend that they don’t know the bad conditions the rooms are in and they won’t do anything about it. False advertisement, the rock a do not look like the pictures they have advertised. Do not stay here, people walking around that look suspicious, hotel is in a very bad unsafe location. Drawers were non existent. Hotel refused to provide refund as if they didn’t know how badly this hotel is and that they are providing false advertisement.

Old rooms are horrible and dirty smells like ashtray. The new rooms are ok. To much noise from freeway and also tenants. Don't bother going there, you will not like it. It's a shame a very big hotel with a lot of potential

Did not feel safe I checked in and checked right out. Curtains were ripped and you could see on the window. There was duck tape on the walls and it’s was dirty. I do not recommend.

It was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.

Looking at the exterior, you'd never know the room was updated and super clean. We really missed having a chair and table, but not that big of a deal. The downstairs neighbors had really loud music on and we couldn't hear it in the room. That was impressive.

I like their effort of maintaining the room clean, but the room was so destroyed and tagging all over the bathroom walls and there was no hot water. We left 45 minutes after we checked in we couldn't stand the atmosphere of the room it made us feel that we were in a room that was used for people that used drugs.

Checked in and left in 30 mins rooms are filthy furniture is stained, graffiti all over. Cabinets are broken, there was a hole in the roof and they “fixed” it with duct tape, water didn’t work. The place is definitely not safe, people selling stuff out of the room. You could not pay me to stay here. Wish I could get a refund I literally wasted my money because I could not stay here, I would not even sit on the bed.
