    The room is large and clean. The hotel location is perfect, 2 minutes walk to the ferry terminal. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

    Loved our trip. Staff was amazing and breakfast was good. We will be staying there again when we come back. Great location for public transportation by bus, light rail, and boat. Perfect pick up spot for Uber and Lyft. The view was to die for.

    We spent 6 nights there & loved it! The location is right by the NY Waterway ferry into Manhattan, which was our favorite mode of transportation. The only thing we’d change was we needed more closet space. Other than that, the location was beautiful, as we walked the path along the river day & night & loved the view of the Manhattan skyline! We’ll be back!

    Noise was not an issue at my new room. Staff was always professional and very friendly. The room was large and clean. The AC unit mounted to the Bedroom wall was very noisy when starting up, but somewhat quiet during the cooling operation only to start the noise again at the startup of the next cooling cycle. Breakfast options were plentiful and the coffee was strong and good. The dining area was open, large, and clean. Staff constantly kept the area clear of used plates and kept the food area filled. The location was excellent for me as the NJ/NY Ferry port was directly across the street so daily trips to Midtown Manhattan were super easy. The view of Manhattan was excellent. New Jersey definitely has the better view of Manhattan! I probably would not stay at this property again until I learn. that the construction across the street has been completed.

    Stayed two weeks. Very clean very convenient location will definitely stay there again and will recommend to anyone going to Jersey and Manhattan. It’s conveniently across the street from the ferry terminal that takes you to Midtown 39th. The staff was friendly helpful. The breakfast was OK they could use less cheese in their food other than that, I give it five stars.

    Great place to stay if you want a sizeable clean fresh room. I accept the breakfast is included in the price, but it could be done a little bit better. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Depending on what you are looking to do, this hotel is in a great location.

    Positives: - Location: the ferry and a nearby grocery store are very handy to have so close! The boardwalk is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy the city views. - Breakfast was a nice touch. If you are gluten-free, be sure ask for the GF muffins which they keep in the freezer. They are Udi’s which is a great brand for those of us with gluten and lactose issues. - Kitchen in the room is always nice to have. - Parking: the self-park parking lot was very convenient and reasonably priced. Downside: - The pullout mattress. It was horrible! Very uncomfortable. Housekeeping did not leave any bedding either so we had to call down each day for it. - Partial View: Unless you have a room that is directly facing the Hudson River, your view will be of construction/ buildings. We had a room that said ‘partial view’ of the city but that was a stretch! We really only saw the construction of the building next-door. Lastly, because of the proximity to the ferry, it would be nice for hotel guests to get a discount on the ferry. It adds up when your family takes it every day back-and-forth. Overall a lovely, clean hotel that’s quiet from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.

    I requested the garden view room as it was advertised. It turns out that such rooms do not exist in this hotel. I got a room facing a construction site. The air conditioning in the room was very loud. It is within walking distance of the ferry; this is the only advantage of this hotel. Breakfast wasn't good.

    This place was booked last minute and we wished we could have stayed 4 nights and took the ferry or subway to Manhattan. The room was a great size, kitchen would have been so convenient for us and you get such a beautiful view of the NYC skyline. The street does get a little noisy at night as you aren't very high up. Breakfast was included and had great options, We would stay here again for the whole duration of our next NYC stay.

    Horrible. You have to pay for parking when I already paid 800 dollars to stay at the hotel. You can't leave the parking garage without paying. The sign says if you park there for 15 minutes it is free. Well it's not. We put our stuff in the room and was there for less than 15 minutes and still had to pay 22 bucks to get out. The living room was burning up hot and the air didn't work. So at night my kids were burning up. Our view in the room was a construction site because they were building a new hotel probably next to the Marriott. And the front desk girl had on way too much blush and she was rude. It made me not want to stay. The elevator situation is just plain stupid. The bartender was also rude at the hotel bar. My husband and I sat down at the bar to get a drink and he never came to us. He stood there talking to some other customers while we sat there waiting. So we left and went to the restaurant The Highlife I believe which was great. The parking garage was a mess we could not even throw our trash in the can because it was full. My family and I will NEVER be staying at another Marriott Bonvoy. This is why I only choose Hilton's. At the Hilton parking is free and the breakfast is better. Lesson learned NEVER again. Everything

    It was clean and new, with good size suites for New York area The manager and the staff whoever controls the bookings have been intentionally dodging my request for change in checkout date to one day earlier due to change in travel plans so that they don’t have to refund me the amount for one night. Booking.com confirmed that they sent the request many times and called the property many times to allow this change due to change in my travel plans. Booking.com mentioned that I would get the refund as soon as property replied. But this hotel kept dodging all calls and emails from booking.com. Even when I checked in, I reminded the person at the counter to reply to my date change request. And the reply I got was “it is totally up to the manager to accept or decline”. Assuming it is that flexible to make the change, for the manager to not reply to booking.com until 5 days later, really leaves a bad taste overall and tells me that he value 1 night’s room revenue over a long term business from a guest. I don’t think the hotel manager represents the Marriott hospitality values well.

    Breakfasts were free but not great. Staff was fine. Construction 40 feet outside of our window. Not great for relaxation. The 4am fire alarm that evacuated the entire hotel ruined the following day because we were so exhausted. It did not help that the security guard was laughing about everyone standing in the cold.

    Staff were super sweet and very accommodating. The small issues I had were fixed immediately. The breakfast menu changes daily so just go down to see what you may want that day. The food was expected, I really liked the egg bites. During our stay the Netflix didn’t work and channels were limited so if you’re a tv person you might find that annoying. Our suit was very clean, housekeepers did great with providing fresh towels & trash removal (we did our own cleaning). Loved how pots & pans, etc. were in the kitchen for use. Lastly we stayed on the 10th floor, it was very quiet and peaceful which we enjoyed a lot.

    My husband and I enjoy staying here whenever we visit NYC. The location is incredibly convenient to the ferry, and the views are a great bonus. We also appreciate the large parking garage, which always has plenty of available spaces. The hotel is consistently clean and comfortable, with great service. The included breakfast is always good and definitely a step above what most hotels offer.

    Everything was awesome, and I would love staying there, but the internet and phone network are so bad that my whole business depends on the phones and computer. I was really having a hard time. Everything else was perfect - I could make my own meals, and the room was perfect with a kitchen and sitting area, which I needed for my work as a fashion designer.

    To make up for the inconvenience, they upgraded our room to one with a beautiful view and provided us with a $25 credit for the bar. The room was absolutely stunning, and my wife especially loved the view. What made the experience even more special was that we were celebrating her birthday and Valentine’s Day.     location staff service room design I have been a loyal Marriott customer and have never had a stay like this one, where there was a damaged cracked stove top, AC pulling away from the wall. Corner beam wallpaper cracking but the main issue was my girlfriend who has eczema and has to be careful with her skin, pointing out to me the shower head had mold as a property manager I can tell you that is a health code violation, not knowing what is hitting your skin or face; she refused to use the shower the next morning. I took photos of all these items. Staff was nice and accommodating but the site needs repair. And someone got away with firing fireworks in the adjacent lot keeping us up till well past 2am. Something I don't blame the hotel for, but it just exacerbated the situation with lack of sleep. Definitely not my best stay especially on the 4th of july weekend.

    Residence Inn always spacious and clean. Breakfast was adequate and coffee was very good. Getting to hotel from parking garage pretty easy but getting from hotel to parking garage is totally different route and elevator. Little confusing why that is. Overall pleasant stay.

    They forgot to service the room for 3 days. Service at reception was excellent. 2 elevators, but only one was working. Breakfast was all processed foods, 1 toaster for everyone, so there was a huge line for toasting bagels and muffins. Lady in charge was very rude and grumpy. 3 washing machines and only 2 worked.

    Hotel was lovely, very clean and easy to get on the ferry. Buses then to take you where you need to go, otherwise it's a bit of a walk, but doable (but after 2 days my legs were screaming so got on bus more). Would 100% go back to residence inn - even with a 7 day ferry pass it worked out so much cheaper than staying in Manhattan and is a lovely place! Nice supermarket down the road too :)

    Just flew in from our vacation in New Jersey/ New York I couldn’t wait to write this review. From the moment we entered the establishment we were greeted by Tamera who was very professional and knowledgeable about how to get around, she even help us organize our itinerary based on location of attractions we wanted to see. The location of this hotel is amazing with the ferry across the street, The Highwood restaurant located around the corner (amazing service and food by the way), easy access to the bus station, and walking distance to other restaurants. Our room was clean and spacious enough for us and our partial view of New York City was also awesome. The breakfast served at this hotel surpassed definitely surpassed our expectations. The checkout process easy and the minor hiccups we had was swiftly taken care of by Karla. These two young ladies are a dynamic duo and The Residence Inn by Marriott should be lucky to have them.

    I stayed in a suite that was advertised as having a full stove, but it only had a stovetop. Even when I cooked on the stovetop, the fire alarm went off immediately. The room layout was awkward, and there were no windows that could be opened for ventilation. The room felt very stuffy, and I felt unwell after staying there.

    Was checked into a room with stains all over the headboard and wall, not really what you want to great you. It’s probably not the nicest having to clean up for guests but if housekeeping are changing the linen they should at least wipe away evidence of prior guest exploits!

    • Several lights did not work in my room. • My hotel room phone did not work properly. • The hotel/room looked worn. • Only (1) elevator working • I was not informed about the new construction next door and even upgraded my room for the city view. It was loud and restless. • The ongoing smell of marijuana. I love the location and ease to access the ferry. However, the hotel is declining quickly.

    However, We paid extra for a room with a view of NYC - when we arrived we were told this hotel has no view as it is blocked by another hotel in front of it. We were there seven days - and four of them, the lights in the majority of the room did not work. Each day we reported it - the staff promptly addressed it - but the next morning, the lights would not work again. There were no working ice machines on the floors - other than the lobby floor. We were given two towels and one roll of toilet paper. This is not adequate so we kept having to ask for towels and toilet paper.

    I recently stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Weekhawkin and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment I checked in.     The proximity to the ferry is unbeatable. The food options are limited but solid. The addition of doubling which has its first location in Montclair where I used to live is an excellent restaurant. The Highwood solid sports bar with a great WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUSHI special . Also the bar/ restaurant at the ferry is unique and a bother solid option. The hotel is clean, nice beds, big rooms, and a solid free continental breakfast. Safe, easy to get to the local train for local travel (Path).

    Lovely large suite with a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/sitting room. Kitchen include large refrigerator, microwave and cooker so you can prepare your own meals if you wish.     We visit the NY area every couple of months and this has been the best hotel we have stayed at for affordability and convenience. For the reasonable rate you get a suite w a bedroom, living room and kitchenette. Very comfortable. Very easy to get into the city by walking across the street and taking the ferry over. It's a 10 min ferry ride w beautiful views of NYC and takes you into midtown Manhattan. Much better experience than driving into the city or staying in the city.

    Absolutely perfect for our 10 day trip to NYC! Location was wonderful and so convenient as we traveled back and forth to Manhattan via the NY Waterway Ferry across the street.     While our view was of a construction site, the room itself more than made up for it. We had a separate bedroom from the living area, two TVs, and a surprisingly spacious bathroom that my wife appreciated. The curtains weren’t blackout, which concerned us at first, but the pull-down shades did a decent job keeping the light out. If you're looking for a hotel with some actual square footage for your NYC stay, this is a great option. Parking is $22 a day with in-and-out privileges, though you'll be charged each time you exit. All in all, compared to the other options we considered, this property was easily the best choice for me and my lady.

    We were told we could check in early, then told it would cost more. We didnt check in til after 4pm instead we are from way out of town so i had called ahead to make sure.     River view and Manhattan views are limited at best. The Residence inn windows are perpendicular to the river. Lean and look right to see the north end of NY. Dont pay xtra for it, thinking of a view Parking is run by a parking company. Full day is 22$, which is reasonable in nyc area. But, No in and out. Clock starts as soon as you enter. The Staff was friendly and helpful.

    I usually like the Marriot hotels but this one just had one too many faults that I couldn’t give this a good review. The only good thing was the kind receptionist staff in the lobby. The complementary breakfast was awful. On top of having jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches instead of cooked food like all the other Marriott’s or even some 2 star Comfort Inns, they had the most insufferable Karen of an attendant. She was the most busy body and nosey person I’ve ever encountered from the staff of a hotel. She told my partner to not put the hot plates on the counter because the counter will burn which is absolutely not true and also, how are we supposed to open the food containers and scoop food AND also hold our plates the whole time?! Also she immediately accused us of trying to take a lot of food into our bags when we just came down to do laundry, which requires bringing clothes down in bags, and then hit up breakfast after. She then asked us to show our room keys as proof we are staying there. If you’re going to be that restrictive, have us show our room keys before we enter the breakfast area. I can’t describe how annoyed we were at this person and it made us not want to come down for breakfast anymore. If they wanted to save food, then it certainly worked. Good job. As for cleanliness of the room, there was gum in our shower that just wasn’t cleaned… ever.

    While the room was very nice, we immediately noticed that the AC was only located in the bedroom. The rest of the space was very warm. The service gentleman said it was designed that way for energy efficiency. We had the run the AC all the time to reach the kitchen so not very efficient. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Fire alarm went off on our last day because one person burned something on cooktop and had to evacuate building. Parking was $22 a day which I didn’t recall being mentioned on the site details though I may have missed that.

    We arrived late in the evening to find the key pad for room malfunctioning (needed battery), phone in room not working (needed battery), garbage disposal had trash in it and was also rusty: waited for an hour for maintenance to come and resolve issues until midnight, to no avail. Left 2 messages for the manager following morning with front desk. Manager never reached out, had to call a third time before maintenance showed up. Manager never returned calls. We were at the hotel for 10 days totaling a 3K bill, would expect a manager to check in with a courtesy call. In addition to this the front desk person when asked could not give full/detailed information or directions regarding details of commuting in and out of New York. As well, when asked, the front desk person could not give detailed info for local shipping options (UPS)...including that there was a UPS drop box right across the street from hotel, as well as a UPS Store just a short walk away (all basic services we had to figure out without help). Otherwise, laundry facilities-not well maintained: found the machine dirty, hadn't been cleaned had mold/dirt, and soap scum, dryer lint trap was overfull. Cell-Phone service was non-existent in our room. Bed was comfortable, air-conditioning adequate, breakfast adequate. Only one elevator working for 5 days of our stay servicing 164 rooms, not ok. We give them a C+ but no reason this property couldn't be exemplary by fixing management.

    When first arriving at the hotel the first thing I noticed is the parking deck looks close to the hotel but you have to walk around the block to get to it & you have to pay for parking. Only limited to going in & out of the parking deck. Now my check in was at 4, but I got there really early & spoke with someone called Carla I believe & she was telling me how it was going to take a moment cause of the cleaning process which I totally understand but if your going to tell the customer I’m going to confirm your room now & as soon as a rooms ready I will call you right away & that wasn’t the case at all.

    I was suppose to have a view of the waterfront instead has a view of the side of the building . The blinds were broken so we had to have someone come in to fix them . It was my 50th I just expected a Nj sr view for my Birthday. I was disappointed in that .

    Our stay was absolutely amazing. We loved the NY Waterway shuttle from the hotel to Manhattan – truly top-notch! However, I have to mention the breakfast… it was quite disappointing. I’d rate it 2 out of 10. I’m not sure what Americans usually eat for breakfast, but if semi-finished, low-quality food is the standard – that’s a no-go for us.

    The breakfast area is bright. We did not like how the room felt stuffy and warm. We liked that garbage and fresh towels were adressed daily.

    Safe and quiet location. Easily accesible to the city via ferry, but allows you to have your own peace and quiet when you want to escape the hustle and bustle. My boyfriend and I arrived from California late night and were greeted by Chris. He was very helpful, accomodating, extremely welcoming and personable, which was very important in an unfamiliar city. Took the time to provide information on things to do and recommendations on places to visit, which were top tier. Hotel breakfast was a plus. Neighborhood felt safe and private. Will absolutely stay here again for all future stays in that area. Thank you again Chris for all your help!!!

    Loved being able to spread out in such proximity to the City. I traveled with my daughter and her nanny-- this provided plenty of space for all of us.

    The view from my room could have been better but the area was very safe and clean and the view (not from my room but overall) was wonderful. The manager, Jordan is a very friendly and helpful guy. :)

    Overall it was a nice stay, didn't love how wet the floor from the shower (we were put in a handicap accessible room, not requested). Little noise late from an event happening as well, but not too bad. Good view of the city across the river and convenient access to the ferry to get into the city.

    Breakfast very basic it’s bagged food. Parking you have to pay and once you leave if you come back you must pay. There is not a lot of street parking.

    Only thing i was upset about was we left our toiletries bag in the bathroom. When i called the hotel back, I was told they would check with house keeping and they would call me back. That was almost to weeks ago. Still haven't heard a thinf.
