Royal Inn Motel

The filthiest most broken down place I’ve been in my entire life. Windows won’t close and lock, water in sink wouldn’t drain, broken fixtures from the 1960s, everything water damaged, filthy beyond words. I wouldn’t even step into the shower. I thought, how bad could it be? Bad enough to tuck in your shirt, sleep with your shoes on and with one eye open. Put toilet paper on the toilet seat like a NJ rest area and move on with no shower. I wouldn’t have paid $10 to overnight in this room. I thought about sleeping in the car once I saw it.

We couldn’t sleep all night with the weird smell of the the moldy old buildings I booked 2 nights and I left the motel around 5 AM and I never went back for the second night I am hoping I will get a refund but I doubt it Please Hotel.com remove such properties from your platform because people with asthma may die if they spend one night in a such horrible smelly hotels

The room was very dark. Only 1 lamp provided for the whole room. No fridge. The room smelled faintly of Marijuana

Absolutely awful. Turned away by rude and aggressive manager because I arrived after 10 PM. He kept shouting, "Read the contract! Read the contract!" I ended up driving around until the fourth place I tried had an open room. I strongly recommend that you strike this location from your service; but, if you leave it up, I strongly recommend to anyone considering staying here that they strongly reconsider.

Friendly staff clean and lots of shopping nearby

Mouse dropping on 2nd bed (there was a gap on the door that they bacon get through), bug on bed (no signs of bed bugs), moldy odor from corner of room (signs of water damage), door was so warped that deadbolt would not latch, while I believe towels and linens were laundered/clean the towels were stained and had bark/debris stuck on the terry cloth and bed covers had cigarette holes. Pros.., had working ac and hot water. 2nd bed did not have any signs of bugs or mice. I arrived at 3am and had a wedding the next day… I literally had a back to back schedule and did not have the time nor energy to try to resolve with the hotel or hotels.com I wrapped myself in in my robe used my clothes as the best shield I could for my own sanity. I would expect hotels.com to only do business with hotels the meet the bare minimum requirements of safety, health, and cleanliness. This room was absolutely not it.

The reviews said it was exceptional but are very misleading!! There was nothing to like about this gross motel. The reviews said it was exceptional, but it was exceptionally bad. The bathroom was gross and outdated, with the door being splintered, needing to be replaced, as well as the flooring in the bathroom. It needs a whole remodel. My husband wouldn't take a shower feeling like he'd get dirtier trying to clean up. I'd never stay in a hole like that again if I could help it!! The reviews are very misleading!!

The place was great for obe night stay

Horrible property. Looked like I stepped back in the 50’s. Scared of bed bugs. Would have rather slept in my car. Everything out of date. So many repairs are needed. Kept heater on 80 like to froze to death.

The property was dirty, people sitting in doorways, some people live there. The bedspread had burn holes, and dirty, bathroom shower curtain had mold on it, tiles in ceiling had holes, the chair was so dirty it was a green but it was black from the dirt. The power plug for the air-conditioner was un safe hanging out of wall. ( should have reported it to the fire department and health department ). they refused to give back any of the money. DO TO THE CONDITION OF THE ROOM THIS BEING MY FIRST TIME TO USE YOUR COMPANY I'M VERRY DISSAPIONTED BY YOUR COMPANY AND I WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN. Bed was ok. Furnished out of someone's attic. Water could flow out of faycet.. Closet was a door to adjoining room and wouldn't close. Tv did not work but tired and late so went bed.. New floor. Needs renovation. No charm. Depressing.Manager pleasant guy .

The service at check in wasnt friendly at all. The bathroom was not very clean and the entire room looked run down check out was worse then the check in service

I have stayed in a lot of hotel and some under par but this was worst. I paid almost a hundred dollars to have to wait 15min for the water to get hot and my husband could not take a shower because there was not hot water. We only had 3 towels for 2 people and the smell was sicking. I am glad I brought my Lysol. I never do ever do reviews. But we were so disappointed. The only reason we stayed was it was for one night and all the other hotels was book because of the big football weekend. The customer services was also disappointing.

This is an older property with tons of charm. It's like stepping back in time when you stay there. That being said, there were a few issues: The bathroom door would not close all the way, there were only 3 pillows for 2 guest in a king size bed, no ice machine on the premises, TV not in HD. Was fine for a different experience and a one night stay. Proprietors were very friendly and hospitable. Easy walking distance to Sheetz Convenience store and gas station. Excellent Mexican restaurant next door.

The place has a 1960’s look. It is in a quiet location. All in all not bad for the price.

Felt like an apartment rather than a hotel, so I liked that. Didn’t like the bugs I found in the room.

The accommodations were very satisfying. More towels, toilet paper, and an extra trash can would have been more to my liking though. Staff was friendly.

Clean motel and so nice when we checked in. Hot water didn't work well. Took forever to get warm then faded in and out from cold to super hot. Beds and pillows were not the most comfortable but were clean. Would recommend better quality towels and more than 2 in the room.

Could use more amenities like ice machine for guests.

I travel a lot and usually stay in lower end places. I'm not expecting the Ritz, and I'm not picky. When I woke up, I was covered in about 30 BED BUG BITES all over my shoulders, neck, and arm. I pulled the sheets back and saw tell tale blood stains on the mattress cover under the sheets. When I reported it to the manager, he told me I must have gotten bitten by a bug when I went for a ealk down the street. ... I was wearing 3 layers of clothing because there was ICE everywhere. He just told me he had NEVER seen bites like that before and had NO IDEA what they could be. They were grouped in clusters of 2-3, and were exactly were I found the blood stains UNDER the sheets. Please be advised that this place is NOT CLEAN.

If the bare minimum will do this is the place for you.

Horrible place. Paint peeling. Woodwork a disaster. Smelled horrible. Bed very uncomfortable. TV had interesting green line from top to bottom. Would not stat there again for free. Hotels.com should take this off their list. DO NOT STAY THERE!!

Scary. Couldn't close window, on the porch level with screens, etc. Got in bed and a brown bug walked acros my stomach. Was it??

charged for 2 rooms and only used one. At least it was clean.

I loved the refurbished retro 70's charm of the room. Everything was clean & in working order. A/C good & cold. Would stay again for sure.

Even though this hotel has some years behind it, the place was clean, everything worked and was stylish in its own way. Would stay here again and again.

Not happy. I got suckered into paying $79 for a $29 room. No breakfast, no exercise room, no ice/bucket/glasses/cups, no luggage rack, no counter space in bathroom with sink that only dribbled, an unclean sticky chair and only 1 lamp in room.

You get what you pay for

Beds ok, no ice, no cups for water in room, no hair dryer, no in room coffee or lobby coffee, bathrooms decent, budget hotel and would not stay again.

50's type motel but convenient and very clean; quiet for being on a busy road; price was great

From the outside this didn't look like the greatest of places, but once inside I found it clean, very comfortable and very, very spacious. Owner/manager was friendly. The facility was dated for sure, but it appears they recently removed carpet to put in vinyl floors which gave the place a modern feel to it.

Initial attempt at early check in met with confusion. Once front desk found request section room opened quickly. Property location in mediocre location yet extremely clean.

The Royal Inn is dated, but well-maintained. The room was clean. The shower worked, toilet flushed, heater heated, TV and cable just fine, little fridge, little microwave. You have to pay something for Wifi. As a place to crash, this worked great - a no-frills place to spend a night.

The room was basic, shower ok. Like so many motels it needs a bit of paint and attention. We arrived after a long day travelling, leaving early in the morning. Skyline Drive 10 mins away.

Most metal object covered in rust. Dirty carpet leaving black socks. Repainting needed. Cheap hotel without any problems, no perks but not terrible.

It was really close to the shopping and restaurants in the area. Really close to the interstate as well. This was definitely a 1-star hotel. The sheets were dirty, the carpet was filthy.

This place was a dirty disgusting place. Cheap or not it was gross. Never ever stay there Everything. From the mould in the shower with the broken concrete on the floor to the scummy dirt in rest of room

It was away from the usual location of the interstate. It's dated - badly. Can't really help that but when you walk into the room, you're stepping into a time warp.
